Decent little sushi joint nestled behind a dominoes here off Eastern. We ordered the SOS roll which was the first legitimate spicy tuna roll I have gotten at any sushi resturant. The waiter told me this roll had a disclaimer trying to scare me ha. We also got the Dancing dragon and the knight roll. Both rolls were ok but nothing to write home about. Service was on point and very friendly. They also have a black rice selection of rolls but I didnt give that a try. Overall a pretty average place with average prices. read more

Was starving, google & yelp research in the 45m car ride from NW to NE LV and all reviews pointed to Hiroba Sushi... and they did not disappoint. Started off w the yellowtail appetizer and the rightfully highly recommended Lemon Roll. The Vally of fire and sally and Cocomo but my personal favorite was Summer Time & the J.Lahore cab that helped wash it all down. Staff quick, hospitable, and very pleasant despite how bz they were w in house and take out orders. Food came right away. Oh and the Spicy Edamame was just right even for the ppl that don't do too spicy! Thank you Hiroba staff for a memorable lunch on a memorable day. Authenticity: this is a Korean run restaurant. Food: Even though I knew that this is the kind of place to eat "crazy rolls", we ordered sashimi lunch and bento box lunch combo with sushi and sashimi. Big mistake. Fish had no taste and were cut too large and too thick. We realized that the fish had no taste because it was likely previously frozen. I also didn't care for the salad dressing and couldn't figure out what kind it was. It was white and kind of sweet. The miso soup was good. Tea was served in a coffee mug (weird). Ambiance: clean with tables, booths and a bar. Service: attentive and friendly. Location: in plaza behind Domino's pizza. We went here because we wanted to try something new near us. After 8 plus years tonight is our last night eating here. We have gone here on lunches, special occasion and always bring guests to our favorite sushi but tonight was the last. My oldest is deathly allergic to an item and we asked that they just change gloves when they make his order. The establishment wasn't busy since the new management has take over. Which is ok but we always ask this request just to make sure he is safe. He is ok to eat there as we have always done. Then after discussing it with the owner he said he is fine if we don't eat here. I was confused and was shocked by his statement and had him repeat it. Well he said it again. No establishment is worth my son's safety let alone disrespecting a loyal customer. I smiled and said absolutely we won't ever be returning. I'm shocked his abrupt statement but not surprised. The previous owners were attentive and the food was amazing with good portions. Now it's just about $$ and it's no longer the community spot our family loved to go to. Sorry to say this place isn't what it use to be. Been here many times. Must give this restaurant 5 stars. The staff is always friendly, the owner is always there. And the quality of the food is very high. The owner does a daily fish order, as well fresh vegetable order. We always get the the "Rock & Roll", "Super Dupper", "Yellow Tail Roll", and a must is the "Salmon Collar", as it's marinated for 4 days! We also suggest the "Gyoza", and "Purple Dream". There's a number of well-reviewed sushi restaurants in this area. I decided to try Hiroba because of the black rice sushi. I never saw it before and was intrigued. I ordered the Black Rice Sushi Dinner, which had a generous portion of very fresh sliced sashimi, 5 pieces of black rice sushi and 4 pieces of black rice rainbow roll. It also came with a nice salad and miso soup. It was a delicious meal, and if I lived in the area I would be a regular here. Service was fast and friendly, and as a single person walking in I was not shunted off to sit at the sushi bar, I was offered a table. Very unpleasant interaction with the general manager, Eddie. He was very unprofessional, impatient, and lacked customer service skills. Traveling to a new state and trying to support small owned businesses instead of giant cooperate businesses is always exciting however, this made it the worst experience. I made about a $140 pick up order via phone to try a little of everything they have to offer and when arriving home 3 items in my order were incorrect. I called the restaurant to clarify the confusion and was quickly and nicely redirected to the general manager. The general manager quickly asked how he can make it better, therefore I asked for clarification and then a refund on 3 items as this is not my fault (even offered to take the items back). Credit was not a viable option as I am not from Nevada. However, The general manager was less than understanding and denied me the chance to speak or obtain information to the owner/ other supervisor to have successful conflict resolution. He ended the call by saying he had a busy restaurant and hung up the phone. As a general manger he does not set a correct example for a business or employees he leads. Very poor treatment overall instead of finding a fair solution. Please don't ask what can make it better to a customer if you/business cannot meet expectations instead provide clear options of what you allowed or not allowed to do before to set the premise. read more

I was looking for a hot meal to go on a cold day and went for a basic combination chicken teriyaki bento box without looking at the menu. Let me you it was not basic! This was the best chicken teriyaki I have ever had. The chicken was charbroiled to perfection & not smothered with teriyaki. I also had tuna and salmon sashimi which were fresh, large pieces. My friend got me take out from this place. I've never been here or heard of it but so far so good. The unique thing they have is the red rice roll. Red rice is usually a Japanese red bean mixed into it. Very healthy and for it to be sushi, awesome! My friend told me it's their signature rice roll! We were asked 3 times what we wanted to order, which was good, but VERY annoying bc the menu was pretty big & they didn't give us enough time, so we felt rushed to order. There isn't a paper checklist to order what u want, so you need to remember all the items you want to order. We ordered the following rolls: -spicy tuna-your usual standard roll. Boyfriend and I always gotta start off with this one. -Spicy Girl: spicy yummy scallop, avocado, cucumber topped with spicy tuna, crispy jalapeno bits, drizzled with spicy mayo and hot sauce. We really enjoyed this one. My favorite of the night. -Lemon: crab, avocado, cucumber topped with salmon, yellowtail, small lemon slice, sweet onion drizzled with ponzu lemo sauce. This was my boyfriend's favorite. Very refreshing roll. I only ordered this based off the Yelp reviews. Looks like a few reviews have mentioned this roll. Lemon lovers will love this. Drizzled with eel miso sauce, topped with tempura crumbs. We ordered this last because we wanted to eat it immediately....when it's still hot. Anything baked, it's best to eat it fresh. Portions were large, fish was decently fresh, but the sashimi and nigiri seemed to lack some flavor- it's average AYCE quality but without the AYCE price structure, IMO. That said, the friendly faces and good pricing will make this place memorable, plus they seem to be in a location that doesn't have many sushi options to begin with. Most rolls are $7.99, with a few special options running a bit higher. Menu is much larger than expected, with several apps, pages upon pages of rolls, including a few fruit rolls and cucumber-wrapped riceless rolls. Hiroba is another great non-AYCE sushi spot in the Anthem area. They have the total package: amazing food, superb customer service, and great prices. Honestly, I am not much of a "roll" person, but their rolls make me a believer. I normally steer free from rolls with cream cheese and excessive sauces; however, Hiroba does an excellent job of balancing flavors, while maintaining creativity at the same time. My absolute favorite roll here is the lemon roll. Other sushi places have failed to deliver this simple roll, but Hiroba hands down nails it! Something about that lemon-y ponzu sauce just puts it over the top for me. I love that they top this roll with both hamachi (yellowtail) and salmon. An interesting, yet intriguing roll is the crunchy tower (5 pieces). It is deep fried spicy salmon, avocado cream cheese fruit mix, crispy shallots, roasted nuts, drizzled with eel and mango sauce. Seriously, don't knock it until you try it. It's different, but totally works. The green monster is on the roll menu, but is hardly a roll. The inner core is a mix of chopped soft shell crab, surimi crab, and yum yum scallops. All this is encapsulated by avocado and topped with crispy shallots. *Side note: the rolls here are flavorful on their own. I barely touched the soy sauce, wasabi, or ginger. *Honorable mention: snow white roll. Love the subtle smokiness of this roll and overall taste!
