I heard about the large portions here and had to check them out. I ordered the 3 item combo with orange chicken teriyaki chicken and pork ribs. They really load your plate. My third item was in a separate box. Other places all three items fit in one box, and there's still room. The reason for 4 stars was the teriyaki chicken was a bit dry. All the employees were really nice. There was plenty of parking.

A few friends and I stopped by Hong Kong express for a quick meal before seeing a movie at the Block. I have previously been to the Hong Kong Express in Westminster that ended up going somewhat viral on TikTok, but I believe this place isn't really affiliated. When we came in, the store was packed. We were in line behind like 8-10 people which was surprising for a Chinese takeout spot like this. We saw that they were running a deal that got you free 4pc egg rolls and 2 fountain drinks when you order 3 Combo B's, which we were planning on doing anyways. The service and ordering experience was a fairly standard hectic process, but we got our food no problem. A couple of us got the pictured order with Jalapeño chicken and beef and broccoli. I would definitely recommend those items over some of their others. My friend got the barbecue pork and hot orange chicken, both of which were pretty big misses in our opinion. The pork only had a few tender pieces, and the orange chicken was fully soggy. At a place like this though, I think it'd be wise to just order whatever looks the freshest. The place wasn't the cleanest or quietest, but considering we got 3 huge plates of food, 4 egg rolls, and 2 drinks for under $40, I'm more than happy with our experience.

This is a solid Chinese fast place. I got their 3 combo plate and they packed the entrees like a traditional fast food Chinese place typically does! It brings be back to the 1990's growing up. I ordered their chow mein, spicy orange chicken, salt and pepper shrimp and beef and broccoli. Chow mein was okay. Just how I remembered it to be. I can't complain. It's not the best, but it's to be expected at a place like this. Spicy orange chicken wasn't spicy or as tangy as I'd like. But that's okay. Again, I didn't expect much. The beef and broccoli was just okay as well. What I liked the most about this dish was that the broccoli was still crunchy! Good job guys! Service was quick! I was in and out in less than 7 minutes. Place was clean and people were super friendly. I'd come back for the predictable food.

Let's just start with this....the missing star is because they don't offer white meat chicken options. I don't mind dishes that use dark meat but I would like options. This location is in a little outside strip mall. The inside is simple with some tables to eat at. The staff was friendly. Alright now for this dinner experience. Just look at the picture. They are not stingy with portions. All noodles with jalapeño chicken and beef and broccoli. The noodles tasted really good but unfortunately we got the bottom of the pan. They brought out fresh noodles a couple orders right behind us. Although the amount served was a good amount, the noodles were short and cut up with lots of the little veggies that they put in it. Watching them serve the fresh noodles, there definitely is an obvious visual difference. I highly recommend waiting for a fresh pan to come out if you see them scraping the bottom of the pan on the line. The beef and broccoli was delicious. Very very fresh tasting broccoli, crunchy and well flavored. The beef was cut thin and cooked perfectly. The jalapeño chicken was flavored very well. Just the right amount of spice. It is dark meat, and had some fresh veggies in it. I don't live in this area (here for Disneyland) but would most likely come again on a future visit. This meal was split in 2 and even so we didn't finish it all. Just under $17 for the 2 entrée meal with a soda.

First time ordering from here. Was looking for a spot like the old school hood Chinese food restaurants where you can see it behind the glass in the tray warmers, and they stuff the styrofoam box. This place definitely takes the cake, good food, big portions. This place has the biggest portions I've ever been served a Chinese food restaurant. Will definitely be coming back here when I'm in North Orange County.

it's always a decent day after some hong kong express. i've been going here for all my life since i grew up around the area, and ever since i found love for the other food places in the same plaza, i've been frequenting hong kong express a lot more often out of comfort and familiarity. the food is cheap and plenty esp if you come before 4pm for their lunch special ($11.99 for up to two carbs, an entree, a choice of egg rolls, wings, or wontons, and a medium drink). not the healthiest option, but this place is gr8 for anyone seeking greasy comfort food. fried rice is a lil lackluster, so i recommend getting the chow mein. service is decent considering there's a line every time i visit. not a place i would stay to eat (maybe once in a blue moon), but def a place to get your food and go! interior is like a typical chinese takeout place.

Uhhhmm... this is one order? WOW! They don't skimp here on portion size OR flavor. Tiny hole in wall joint that serves up a vast array of offerings. I decided to play it safe and ordered orange chicken and broccoli beef. Ya know... the staples of fast chinese food. Enough food for 2 people and the flavors were spot on. I came here really late at night and wasn't sure what to expect. I've been to this Chinese fast food a few times before, the portions or HUGE and the food is fresh. Even coming here late at night when they are about to close, the food was still really good for fast food. There were less options and the service was still amazing. The staff who work here are always great and quick to take your order. If you're looking for Chinese fast food, this is the spot you should go to! I had the Mushroom Chicken, BBQ Pork, and Chow Mein. The food was hot and still tasted freshly made. Great portions even late at night.

Like any other Chinese fast food places, they have a great selection of dishes to choose from - tofu eggplant, spicy orange chicken, regular orange chicken, potato and beef (tues and thurs only), teriyaki chicken, among others. But what makes this place stands out is their portion size. It's huge - one meal is literally enough for 2 people.

Ok I am a snob for good Chinese food, and this is NOT the place if you are looking for something authentic. This place is exclusively quantity over quality. All I wanted when I visited this place was a solid meal for a cheap price. I ordered Combo #1, which is fried rice, noodles, and one side of your choice (I chose the salt and pepper fish). It was definitely average-tasting. What I liked about this meal though was that the portion was HUGE. I ate two giant meals for the price of one. Service was very quick, and parking was easy. Recommend checking this place out if you want quick, takeout at a cheap price. Don't recommend if you want more authentic, Chinese, sit-down meal.

Bought a tray of chow mein for a potluck . $35 and my whole building was happy. Food was piping hot and they included hot sauce, napkins, and a bunch of fortune cookies which was a hit. I appreciated the lady offered a box for me to carry it in for ease. Arrived right after 11am when they open bc I knew the parking lot is a crowded mess. Have been back for lunch several times. combo portions are very large and enough for two. Wide variety of meats and veggies in their selection. read more

F O O D I've always enjoyed getting Chinese food here. It's close to work and always fast. The food is hot and freshly made, everything is flavorful and they always stuff the box to bursting. I usually get the chow mein with two items: orange chicken and BBQ pork. Can't go wrong! I occasionally get an order of veggie egg rolls as well and it was super crispy. S E R V I C E The employees are always very polite and fast. Even though there is usually a line of people waiting, it moves pretty quickly. L O C A T I O N It's located next to Taco Bell and in between a liquor store and I think an old video rental store. Not coming back. Food is decent but what always brought me back was that they would fill up the plate to where you can barely close it. They were so stingy today, and the way the guy served the plate was frustrating me. First, we was so slow! He adds rice first, in the correct section of the plate and then he served the chow mein on the section of the plate where the sides go and leaves a space next to the rice empty! Very frustrating visit. I'm not coming back, I sometimes used to come from LA because of the service and portion size of the food, but it is NOT worth it anymore. We had been coming here frequently that last 5 years but the last year it has really declined. Last 3 time I've noticed we haven't been liking the food as much. Sadly today was the last straw. Not only have the prices went up a lot but the food was all not good. We paid $50 for the family meal plus two other sides. Very expensive dinner that we did not even finish half. They have did a lot of upgrades to this location the last two years and they still give a lot of food , but as prices gone up the quality went down. Two stars because although we won't be coming back and no longer like the food , we have never had an issue with the service or employees . I really hope they are able to get the food quality back up. read more

We were in Anaheim for an event and wanted small Chinese eatery with free parking. This place hit the spot. You just need to know not to expect a fancy place with great service. Workers were efficient, food was decent and place was clean. They also give you enough food for leftovers. We got two orders of 3-combos and total came to $27. Ate here this past Saturday evening for dinner around 7pm. It was really busy. I ordered the 2 item combo with chow mein, pepper steak, & teriyaki chicken. Below average quality but above average quantity. Chow mein 10x better than Panda Express. Bbq pork is not tender or juicy at all, very dry and hard to chew. Orange chicken taste is fine but not as crunchy/juicy as Panda Express. Kung Pao chicken is not edible because the sourness is almost like chemically. I appreciate them because they are very very generous and price-conscious. I couldn't finish even 1/3 of my plate. read more

Omg do not eat this place! I love Chinese food I try a lot of different spots but this place I will never return too. I went in for lunch around 1 pm to get a bowl chow main and string bean chicken my stomach has been aching since. I do not recommend eating here. I only ate half my plate because it instantly didn't taste right I do not recommend eating here. I would give this place a zero if that was an option. read more

THE FOOD WAS AMAZING AND FLAVORFUL! I had The Combo 2, this allows you to get your choice of 4 categories. I got the Orange chicken (double), fried rice and chew mein; all tasted great without the flavor of old food taste. The portions are HUGE. They literally need to tape the front of the lid to close the box. Service is as expected to be for a busy place. They try to support as much as they can with explaining their menu however need to keep the line going because this place gets BUSY. Overall, the location of this specific Hong Kong is in a little parking area with a liquor store, meaning it may feel a little unsafe but definitely a place worth trying ! read more

If you're into big portions, look no further than this place. Service is top notch and two item combo can serve you for multiple meals! Their egg flower soup is really good too. I don't know anymore. Im just so tired all the time, maybe I'm depressed. Maybe I should take better care of my mind and my body. Feels like very little anymore in my life makes me happy. I think happiness is fake. Just some concept created to sell us products. I was in a really bad model train accident a few years ago and I don't think I had time to deal with it mentally or physically because I was rewatching Suits on Netflix. Rundown Chinese restaurant in a rudimentary strip mall in Garden Grove .. go in expecting to spend minimal cash for maximal flavor, quantity with good quality. $10 will get you a three item combo with a heaping portion of incredible lo mein, fried rice or both. Highlights would include that lo mein, Orange chicken, char siu pork and kung pao chicken!! Sometimes, you just crave chinese fast food! Found this place on Yelp and I'm so happy I did! Came in on a Saturday around 1pm and there was no line and 2-3 tables were occupied. I got the 2-item combo ($8.31 with tax) chow mein, orange chicken and eggplant/tofu. Portions are HUGE. I just watched the guy pack on more and more food, and I wasn't about to tell him to stop, hah. Seems like a family-run business. Lots of entree options to choose from and place is clean and bright. Parking is available in the attached lot. You get chili sauce and a fortune cookie and my order fed me for three meals. Delicious and economical! :D read more

So I decided to give this place a shot instead of going to my usual Chinese spot cause this place is closer to where I live. Yes, they give you a lot of food. I looked forward to eating it and it was good. I purchased it around 7 or 8pm. I actually enjoyed the food but woke up the next morning incredible sick. I could barely get out of bed. I threw up, had the chills majority of the day, had no appetite for food, stomach hurting and I felt weak. Basically I had food poisoning. I went to urgent care and they confirmed it. They told me to just stay home and relax. I have never experienced food poisoning before. This was a horrible experience. I'll stick to my usual Chinese restaurant. read more

If you are after big portions this would be your go to Chinese spot. They are in a tiny shopping spot. Parking is tight. Food is okay. Had the shrimp and orange chicken with rice and noodles. Price is $10.60 for the combo. Haven't had Chinese fast food in a long time. Not missing the msg. Service was quick as they were empty. Ambiance was good not loud good seating and clean. I did notice the noodles had an different taste to them, could have used a little soy sauce maybe. Overall not a bad experience. Would I go again, maybe, if the wife brings it up. The flyer shows a chef that has an impressive resume. With all the options on the menu I can say our meal was enjoyable.

The honey walnut shrimp was absolutely delicious and would definitely recommend! The beef and broccoli had a great sweet and savory sauce that was very good. The service covered us well and checked on us multiple times throughout our meal. They were also quick to provide and additional requests we made. Altogether, my group enjoyed the food and it was a good experience!

The orange chicken were very large pieces. The sauce on it was good. We were blown away by how much food we got and ended up having a lot of left overs. Our entire meal was priced slightly below $50. What a great deal! Our waitress was super nice and food came out quick. She made sure to check on us. The inside of the restaurant is casual but spacious. We enjoyed out time there and definitely would come back.

Lamb Skewers - 4.5/5 the portion was very generous! $15 for 3 large skewers that was about 1.25 ft length each. Was perfectly grilled and did not taste gamey at all. I believe it was Szechuan pepper that seasoned the skewers. I didn't eat enough to recognize if there was any numbing, but the bite that I took was amazing. Outside was crunchy inside was chewy enough to enjoy, but not tough. Grilled rib - 5/5 I was very pleasantly surprised at how although it was very charred and crunchy in the outside that the inside was very soft and fatty. The meat literally fell off the bone. Again, no gaminess and very pleasant to enjoy. Shank - 5/5 I would have to say that this was the hero of the evening from all the dishes we ordered. On a separate note, I enjoyed that so much but because I had already eaten before this dinner, I came back a separate day to have that dish for myself. The rice seems to be cooked in some type of protein broth and if I had to guess it's probably lamb broth along with carrot. It also came with size of pickled items to lighten the fatness from the meat as well as a small bowl of lamb based soup. Homemade yogurt - 4/5 had a slight tartness to it and light sweetness, but was more leaning towards the sweet side of things. Seating consider is around 10 tables plus hjgh top stools, so if you are a large group the wait can be long. We stopped by yesterday to try out some new items, which were a mixed bag. First the Cheese Chicken Roll was surprisingly good. Imagine the Beef Roll and swap things around to get something off of a fancy KFC menu. It features a crispy flaky tortilla outside, wrapped around copious chicken (katsu texture), some lettuce for a crunch, some melted cheese, and then a spicy Thousand-Island type dressing. It all pairs well, has a good chicken portion, and texture variation too. My only desire would be for slightly more lettuce and slightly less cheese, otherwise perfect. Crispy Lotus Root Fries are solid, but not a replacement for typical potato fries. The lotus version was not as crispy or crunchy, but would be an Asian version. It comes with ketchup and the same spicy thousand island dressing as the chicken roll. Lastly we were let down by the Pan Fried Shrimp&Chicken Dumplings (Whole Wheat). The whole wheat wrapping had a very slight texture difference, not as chewy as the typical dumpling wrapping. But the inside was the main focus. It seemed like it was a fishball inside, a homogenous color and texture and more reminiscent of fish than of shrimp. It's possible we got the wrong dumpling. Based on this experience we would not order it again. Wheat wrapping would be fine, but the shrimp/chicken filling would be a no.

Parking is challenging, they do have a small lot behind the restaurant but even with a compact car the spaces were tight. There is some street parking if you luck out and find a space. There are also municipal lots around downtown orange and the traffic circle which offer additional spaces. We will definitely return. Loved the kitschy decor and old gas station feel.

I recently came here and I honestly have no idea what happened to this place. The quality of the food was really disappointing. The food tasted weird, and I keep burping the taste of it hours later. It has literally been making my stomach hurt, and it honestly feels like I got sick from eating here. I do not recommend this place anymore. They used to serve really good food, but now everything tastes bland, and the plate was not properly filled like it used to be. There are definitely better places in Perris, CA that serve more flavorful food. The cashier was also very rude when addressing me about getting a small cup of Hi-C for my child, who needed a drink. The only place I go for Chinese food. I mean for 5 bucks you practically have the food dripping out of your take out box. I only get one side just because they really do fill it up. Only reason I dont give it five stars is just because sometimes the tables or even the place isn't cleaned up after people eat.
