Affordable Americanized HK Chinese food. Eve try thing here was made fresh. Great deals on 2 item combo for $9.99. Instead of noodles or rice, I got veggies as my side and it was good. Orange chicken was crispy and very tasty. I especially like their blackened pepper chicken with bell peppers. Yummy. Overall really tasty food. Just a bit on the salty side. They definitely have great Orange Bang here! Will definitely come back again soon and staff is super friendly and give large portions! read more

I drive by this place from time to time. Today I decided to give it a try. I got one of the lunch combinations consisting of fried rice, chow mein and two lunch portion entrees, in this instance I chose a beef dish and a chicken dish. It's generously portioned and a good value at $9.99, but. . . . I found it to be overly salty and overly oily if that's the right word. I like my Americanized Chinese food to be quite a bit lighter. I finished about half of it and threw the rest in the trash because I knew I wouldn't go back to it as a left over. The service was prompt and friendly. I have no complaints. Ambience? It looked to me like most folks get their orders to go. The place used to be a Carl's Junior back in the day. My search for a good place in Tustin goes on. I liked Wok Hei a lot, but it's closed down now. read more

Would say more like 2.5. The orange chicken is under seasoned, and rice has no flavor at ll not to mention its hardly even fried, you can find many pieces of normal white rice in it. As for the drinks do not get the boba hasnt been soaked in any syrup at ll and has zero flavor. I personally got the horchata boba expecting to try something different but the horchatas alright but bobas pretty bad. read more

Hong Kong Express is fast food Chinese at its finest: large portions, savory flavors, and quick satisfaction. The restaurant itself is rather unassuming, if a bit run down. It looks like it has been around forever because it has been around forever. Inside, everything seems to be in good order, quite basic, and kept fairly clean. This is no gourmet Chinese food restaurant but that's not what they are trying to be. It has the standard fast food steam table setup, with the option of a one-item, two-item, or three-item combo plate. You can also order items a la carte. I opted for the two item and was very happy to see the employee pile huge amounts of rice, chow mein, and the two items I selected into the container. Of course, it was way more food than i needed for lunch, but it totally gave me that premonition of enjoying leftovers. They have all of the standard fast food choices of items, from broccoli beef, to orange chicken, to bbq pork slices. They have the red sweet-and-sour sauce, as well as deep fried egg rolls you can throw on your order. This is my latest go-to Chinese place for a quick fix or cheap yet tasty lunch. If you want some good Chinese food, then this is the place to go. You definitely get a lot of food since they really stuff those boxes and cartons. I ordered 3 of the combo C which comes with the entree and 3 sides. Their orange chicken and char siu meat was totally bomb! I would definitely come back again soon read more

My boyfriend and i were struggling to decide what we wanted for dinner until we stumbled upon this place..it was not only near by but it stood out! We when first went inside we immediately noticed how it felt so cozy and friendly then followed by the food display and the smell. it was amazing. We both got combo B and chose beef broccoli, jalapeno chicken, green bean chicken, and kung pao chicken along side with fried rice and chow mein. the man who helped us was so friendly and just so sweet he honestly made the experience even more memorable. the portions were huge too it's quite literally doubled compared to panda express and for the same price or less..we ordered for two but could've fed for four!! this is definitely from now on our go to place when we're craving chinese not only was the food amazing but everything else about the whole experience was worth it. 11/10 experience for me personally and i highly recommend ! read more

First time ordering here at Hong Kong Express and I got it delivered through Door Dash. I tried the 3 item plate with steamed rice and chow mein. Orange chicken was really good, flavor was better than most Chinese take-out places. The Kung-Pao chicken was really good also except the vegetable/chicken ratio did not balance. It was like 70% vegetables and 30% chicken. The BBQ pork was really tasty. Burnt on a few pieces but that is to be expected. The abundance of food in this plate could feed 2-3 people. Very delicious and I will most definitely be back! read more

I was craving some greasy Chinese food - you know - the kind that's super delicious and full of MSG But, as much as I wanted to love this place, it fell short in regards to flavors and textures (I'm HUGE on textures). The rice and noodles were good, but the bbq pork and spicy beef were not. I think if I just want some quick rice and noodles, I'll come here. I've been to a few of these Chinese Americanized combo places before, and this place isn't that different from any others except that they really do pack in the food. Quality felt the same to me as those other places (as in really salty, oily, and just deliciously unhealthy). It was pretty fast (but also sorta empty) in the early evening but parking was also almost full surprisingly. In comparison to like a huge chain like Panda, for like the same amount of money this place will give you 2x the amount of food. read more

Like most people have said, the parking here isn't the best, but the food makes everything worth it! I came here looking for three things: portion, price, and taste. All three of my boxes were checked off! I got myself a combo B which comes with both fried rice and chow mein and two options of sides. The portion size was huge! Big enough to make multiple meals out of it and to the point where it was difficult to close. Super reasonable prices and super delicious! On top of that the workers are incredibly friendly! You are not looking for a dine in experience when you come to Hong Kong Express, you are here because you had a hard day and doesn't want to cook but your family still has to eat. Combination B is the best deal $9.99. The nice guy will fill it to the rim, expect to get 32 ounce of food or 2 pound of food. You can feed about 2 grown adult with each order, and probably more if you get some Taco shells yourself. The style is great for Californian, you also get quiet a bit of different variety of food. Overall I'm glad this place exist as most places are so expensive now. read more

I will have to say, this is one of the best fast food Chinese places around. They give a healthy amount of servings, barely closing the lid style. Business owners/workers are always super friendly. I really love their buffalo wings. My personal favorite combo is there fried rice with orange chicken and teriyaki chicken. I could never finish their serving. They have a wide variety of different fast food Chinese favorites, all their food always looks fresh. I highly recommend this location if you're looking for a quick Chinese fast food fix, or you're just really super hungry. Either way you will not be disappointed read more

Wife wanted beef chow fun. well she finds this place. typical Chinese takeout ambiance. Service was fast and people were nice. Quantity was generous, taste was good, and I wouldn't mind paying 12.92 for beef chow fun at this place. all these come to 4 stars. and additional 1 star for not asking for a damn tip for take-out, unlike other overly entitled sneaky business. 5 stars. would come back here again. read more

There was a crowd of people waiting outside so I was a bit nervous that it would take really long. But we added our name to the waitlist on the iPad outside and we were sat in less than 30 minutes (when we went on the list, we were party 13). The wait went by super fast! By the time we finished our meal, there were lots of open seats. I first heard of this place as a "copycat Din Tai Fung". I actually think it's better to think of this place as another Taiwanese restaurant that serves similar food to DTF, but not a copycat. Although some of the popular items are the same (XLBs for example) the restaurants are definitely different. Firstly, the service here is SO FAST. And all the servers were really kind! We ordered our food and it felt like everything came out within MINUTES of each other. By the time we had all our savory dishes, I had only taken one bite out of the first dish. That's how fast it was! Haha We ended up ordering: Spicy XLBs, Beef Roll, Golden Prime Beef Noodle Soup, and Taro XLBs for dessert. Everything was DELICIOUS! My husband's favorite was the Beef Roll, while I think my favorite may have been the soup. The Spicy XLBs (4/5) were great! They felt quite large as I ALMOST had to eat them in two bites (but like why would I ever do that). Flavor was great and I thought there was actually very little spice in these. Compared to DTF'x XLBs, I thought these were just as juicy, but less ginger-forward (which made it feel less flavorful), and more sweet. I was personally missing some acid and wanted a bit more salt cuz it was a tad sweet. The Beef Rolls were pretty good too (4.25/5)! Nice and crispy. Even though it's pan fried, it felt light because of the vegetables. And I know this is weird to say, but the combination of beef, hoison sauce, and veggies almost tasted like pho flavors...but crispy? Yummy! I personally again wanted a bit more salt. But I'd definitely order again. Now for my favorite, the Golden Prime Beef Noodle Soup (4.5/5). WOOWWEEE! She's spicy! And I have a good spice tolerance so beware. I really loved the flavor of the broth. It was spicy and also had a really clean flavor. It looked like it would be a watery broth but WRONG! It was so flavorful. I loved the chewy noodles too and even the noodles on their own were spicy cuz they clung onto the broth. A really delicious soup! I'd love to eat this on a cold winter's day or when I'm sick. Delicious! The Taro XLBs (3.9/4) were pretty good too, but skippable. They weren't too sweet, which was nice. They had a lovely consistency and good taro flavor. But compared to everything else, they weren't that special. Overall, a really delicious restaurant! I'd definitely come here if I was craving XLBs/Taiwanese food.

The sliced pork was incredibly tender, with a clean, fresh flavor that let the ingredients' quality shine. The jelly noodles were refreshing, spicy, and full of bold Sichuan flavors. The combination of heat, seasoning, and texture was simply delicious. The dessert was also surprisingly good. It reminded me of mochi, topped with puffed rice that added a pleasant crunch and contrast to the soft, chewy texture. If you're looking for authentic Sichuan food in Los Angeles, I highly recommend Sichuan Impression. The flavors are genuine, the dishes are consistently well prepared, and it's a place you really can't go wrong with.
