If you check-in with Yelp, you can get a 10% discount if you pay in cash. The favorite of the things I got so far was the King Kong roll, salmon sashimi, and the baked crawfish roll. You like, they also offer green tea if you prefer that over water. The hot green tea was nice, but it felt a bit watered down. This place has great vibes and it feels clean and modern. They might be slightly understaffed cuz it takes a while to get their attention, but once you have their attention, they're willing to help service you quickly. So, we went back last night thinking it would be just as good. And the sushi, was good. We ordered Tuna Sashimi, 2 Bora Bora Rolls (no rice), and a Michelle Roll (spicy tuna and salmon on top.) They offer mixed drinks, they even have a bar, but last night they had no soda water. That was weird. So I ordered a glass of Cabernet. It was maybe a 4oz pour, maybe. For that they charge $9.99 (less their "discount" which I thought the 50% off was permanent, NO.) So in my last review I noted that the "50%" puts their prices after the discount in line with every other sushi place. So last night we noticed they changed the banner on the window from 50% to 40%. WHAT? Now their prices are 10% higher than anyone else. Oh, but they give you freebies! So what! Pot stickers and miso soup and a scoop of vanilla or green tea ice cream after your meal. Uh, no. Note: Did not get the ayce. My friend I came here for dinner last night. Though their ayce menu looked extensive, we were not hungry enough to get it. We instead settled for the mixed sashimi bowl () & chirashi bowl: sashimi bowl (): Comes in a HUGE bowl and a lot of salad & fish but, to my friend's disappointment, comes with regular rice instead of sushi right. Whaaaat, that's like. Almost the whole point of eating this dish! That sushi rice doh! Sooooo yummy! But yeah. Just came with regular white sticky rice. So. This dish was whatevs. chirashi bowl: Different pieces of fish (tuna, shrimp, egg, salmon, some white fish) ok top of sushi rice. This was delicious! I ate everything except one piece of tuna (not my fave fish). The servers were very attentive when we were still deciding what to order, though at the time we were ready, they were nowhere to be found lol. But yeah. Prob won't come back here unless I'm looking for a sushi place in the area (which is highly unlikely). Also note the free dessert with a yelp review is only a scoop of ice cream. read more

I expected a lot from this place due to the overwhelming number of Yelp reviews. Maybe my expectations were too high due to other amazing AYCE sushi experiences I've had, but this place is average in terms of food. The sashimi was not impressive. The fish was small and the cuts were not great. The rice ratio was decent though because they did not put a lot of rice. I found that the rolls were all basically different variations of California Rolls, so it all ended up tasting very similar. The miso soup was lukewarm. Actually, it was basically cold and tasteless, so we had two spoonfuls and sent it back. The only thing two things that I liked about this restaurant were: 1) the fact that they had a full bar and 2) their lounge/couch type seating was very comfortable. You can also order a whole bottle of alcohol and have them store it for you until the next time you come. This is a pretty cool concept if you live nearby and just want to come here for a drink. The service is okay. The manager was pretty attentive after he found out we would be leaving a Yelp review, but at the end we had to ask for the bill three times because he forgot. FYI - if you are a Yelp Elite, they give you an extra 30% off and a free dessert. Our free dessert was green tea fried icecream, which wasn't too bad. read more

Service definitely needs some help. Never been here before and the sign in sheet/stand outside process was a little weird. We stood there for more than 5 minutes not even being acknowledged. Main host was a little rude. Seems selective with who she talks about the menu with. We told her we had never been here before and all she told us was about the $5 upgrade for sashimi. How ever, the table next to us , she explained the whole menu, popular rolls, what's good etc. Sushi was pretty good. They use a lot of mayo on a lot of their rolls and appetizers. I can honestly say this is one of the best sushi places in the Fullerton area. I often do take out, and currently they are offering 50% off on all sushi menu items, which makes this place one of the the best sushi restaurants in terms of cost-effectiveness. They always taste very fresh and amazing. I usually order online ahead of time and go pick up because they actually give you a courtesy call once your order is ready. Amazing AYCE sushi!! I'm so glad I went here after reading about other AYCE sushi restaurants in the area. The nigiri was very high quality and the rolls were good. Our food came out very quickly because the restaurant wasn't too busy at the time. There are three rounds and you can order as much as you want of anything except for a few specific items like bluefin tuna nigiri and some other ones. Very disappointed in Hoshi. I've never tried their AYCE, but their happy hour is pretty decent (since their rolls are so expensive). I ordered take out from Hoshi for lunch - 2 rolls. I got home and when I opened my bag, there was no soy sauce :-( Just ginger and wasabi. I was eating the rolls.. and then... I found a piece of hair stuck in between the rice on the roll. Gross.. I threw the rest of the roll out because I was so grossed out. Considering I paid $22 for a Philadelphia roll and the super albacore roll, I was super disappointed. I've had better sushi for cheaper. Came here for dinner and surprisingly, it wasn't that busy. We were seated immediately. They had happy hour everyday from 9pm-closing. Their happy hour menu is good if you're going to order a few things. But if you're going to eat more, then order the ayce. Dinner ayce was $26 and if you check in on yelp, its 10% off your bill. Their rolls were good at first but they all started tasting the same. I got really tired of eating the rolls after the second round. It's a decent place if you come during happy hour which starts from 9:00 p.m. Add this to your really late date night spot! Although the happy hour list says $8, some of the rolls were charged higher because it was "premium." It was only a $1 or $2 more, but if that's something important to you - just ask before you order. Service was fairly quick. I would want to see better seating arrangement as it feels too condensed. Two people seating arrangements are set in the walk paths, so you get a lot of foot traffic while you're eating. The booths are much nicer locations as they are away from the foot traffic and provide more space in between each tables. read more

I come here all the time with my sister and our friend. The staff is absolutely amazing! They're always on top of everything and extremely friendly. I always come in and leave with a huge smile on my face. Not only is the service here incredible, the food is absolutely delicious! The Samurai roll is to die for. If I could choose just one place to go for my sushi for the rest of my life, this would definitely be my #1 choice. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is very cute. You get a welcoming feeling the second you walk in the door. My favorite part are the twinkling lights along the glass window in the front. They also have a selection of music videos being projected onto the wall which makes for some good entertainment when your company isn't the best. We were in the mood for sushi so we came here being that it closes late and had an AYCE option. We came in and was seated right away. We were given the AYCE menu. The menu was pretty extensive and when we were told that last call for AYCE was at 1030pm and it was now 10pm, we kind of just ordered a bunch of things. The server came with our food and when asking what it was, she looked confused as though she didn't know which roll it was. Also, they made the same of 3 rolls that we only ordered 1 for. She left it with us because it was AYCE anyway. However, when all the rolls we actually ordered came out, we were already so stuffed from those rolls being that we waited for the rest for quite some time. We ended up having to pay extra for leftovers. It's $1.00/per piece and we had 25 pieces. They only charged us $15 though. Our server never came to check on us after our rolls. We had to ask for water refills repeatedly and for our check. It wasn't even full either. Food was good but the service was bad so I wouldn't come back. read more

Mind you, I am an AYCE sushi enthusiast (based in Las Vegas) and I have to say: this is one of the best spots I've been to so far in SoCal. Wilson was our server and regardless of the full house and our group's endless requests, he delivered us with absolutely pristine service. Give this man recognition please! As well as our other servers; they served our food in a timely manner, if not, quicker. Their premium sushi was nothing short of quality. I recommend almost every item in that section! Their limitless nigiris and rolls were also very lovely to eat. The fish to rice ratio was perfect to my liking and they also had a large variety of appetizers to try out as well. I heard "OK" things about this place... and let me tell you its not just "ok" its bad! To start off, bad customer service, the sushi was not good, waitress drops off a sushi plate walks away and turns out it wasn't ours! Then they try to give us another roll as "complimentary" to make up their mistake, I think they need to ask before they drop off food, as some people have allergies.. Apparently this roll had Eel in it which my boyfriend is highly allergic too.. so glad we didn't take a bite, of course we asked what it is and our waitress didnt know!? You drop off food but dont know what you are serving?? We have a problem Then I ordered a beer, waitress comes back letting me know, the keg is being changed ok "acceptable" after 20mins I called our server about my beer, her response "we haven't got to that yet, can I just serve you another beer " this is just a bad place, bad experience! Never again... They don't care about their customers, nor the quality of food they use.. not sure if they need to switch up their servers, or get new cooks but please do something! read more

My mother and I were celebrating her birthday and decided to come here although the they don't take reservations on Fridays. It was very busy (we came during peak hour--7pm) and were seated at the bar. Tony and James are excellent sushi makers. They are helpful and make sushi very fast. The sushi is really fresh and the service is also pretty great! They are quick to help you when ask for water, questions about the menu, etc. I will definitely come back for their AYCE sushi! Pros - Fish was delicious and rolls were great. Definitely hit the spot - Pricing is on point. Under $30 for AYCE.. I love it. - Service is really good here. Did not expect the speedy service as AYCE spots are usually laggy - TVs everywhere.. and a huge bar with a variety of drinks. This place is entertainmentville with sushi involved Cons - It can get busy and tables are quick to fill. Luckily there was an open table or we were looking at a 20 minute wait.
