I give it a one star because of bad experience I come here a lot Today I decided to ask for the bento box with sesame chicken, what I got the girl when she brought it said popcorn chicken so I said is dint order popcorn I ordered sesame so she room it back and the two older men working at the sushi bar said something and she brought it back sayin that was sesame Chicken I asked where's the sesame to where she said I'll ask in the kitchen again so she went back to what she came back saying that's the sesame chicken but it doesn't come with sesame that's the presentation it looks like the pop corn but it's sesame so I said well I'm not gonna eat this cuz this is not sesame to what she took it back as I looked into this yelp page and do find a picture of their sesame chicken when she came Bach I shows it to her and came back to tell me they don't so it like this anymore that's the old presentation to what I responded well that has sesame so that's what I want so she said ok and brought back what was in the picture I never understood why was is so difficult Anto day sorry they made a mistake I'll bring you the sesame instead of lying to me and saying that's the new presentation as if I'm stupid I'm guessing because I'm not Korean I didn't deserve the sesame chicken very disappointed and won't be coming back after I've been coming here for so many years read more

My husband and I have been coming to Hoshi for years and can't get enough of it. Even after recently moving two cities away, we still make any excuse we can to make the drive to have dinner with them. We always appreciate the quality of the food and the amazing service they provide. If you are thinking of catering with them, do it. I recently had my 30th birthday and my husband ordered catering with them and we were so impressed. The platter was so beautiful and everyone complimented how delicious the food was. I have been coming to Hoshi for years now! In recent months it has definitely gotten some upgrades. The inside is newly decorated and looks very different to how it was originally. I have never seen it very packed but have heard it does get busy. I always seem to be lucky and go when it's a little slower. The sushi is always decent in my opinion and they are very tolerable with my modifications due to my avocado allergy which not all places are. They used to have a 40% off special but seem to have removed it when the new upgrades came about. We were a little shocked to receive the bill with it being much higher than it has been in the past for our same order. We have noticed prices going up but we weren't made aware of the change in the 40% discount they offered. Haven't been back since, there are other places in the area to get sushi for a better price and experience. The servers all seem young and are slightly inattentive, I have had to wave down servers to get something I had asked for previously several times which I am not a fan of. I also work in the restaurant industry and understand servers are busy and have lots going on but the repetitive forgetfulness when it's slow has been evident on a few occasions. Overall, service is meh, sushi is decent and prices are higher than they used to be with no real additions to how the service is provided. I guess he got there a little too early because they didn't see my online order in their system yet, so he asked to just use the bathroom while waiting. But they wouldn't let him just use the freaking bathroom because they didn't believe he was a customer??? He had to drive all the way home, and then drive all the way back, like are you kidding me?? They finally did see my order and let him bring it home, but how cheap and stingy that they gave him a hard time over using the bathroom especially as a customer. Unless I had a great experience, I hardly never rate locations online. For lunch we had the spicy pork ramen, gyoza, side of rice, and the precious rolls of Ex-Boyfriend and the Burrito. Great servings, everything is delicious - the rice is silky and just cooked. Having a large spicy sauce collection at home, I can confirm the ramen has excellent kick. You won't believe this outrageous service. First of all we tried to make a lunch reservation and was told it wasn't necessary because they'll have room for our party of 14. When we got there we ended up waiting over 90 minutes to get seated. When we finally did, our party was split with half the people at the bar - at complete opposite sides of the room. The restaurant promised to honor the lunch pricing even though it was now cutting into dinner times. Someone in our group ended up writing a bad review while we were there, talking about the extra long wait. A different friend and I were approached by the (hostess/bartender) regarding the post. Since the review had nothing to do with us we suggested she talk to the reviewer and try to work things out. Nothing happened. Later when I was outside, the owner stops me and asks why he got a bad review. He asked us if there's anything we can do but I again suggest they work things out directly with our friend. You'll never believe this, but when the bill came, everyone was charged lunch pricing except the one guy who gave a bad review! He was charged dinner price. Who does that!? They even admit it was because of the review. After arguing with management, we eventually got the bill adjusted. I can't believe the service we got and how it was handled by the staff and management. Don't come here if you're looking to be taken care of as a customer. I'm appalled by how our situation was handled and how there wasn't any initiative to resolve the issue. read more

Came by to grab some early dinner last week, and when we got there, it was pretty empty so they let us pick our own seating. When we sat down, they offered us a menu and we took a minute to take a look at what to order. I guess it's new management because before when we came here a while ago, it used to be an all you can eat place but now it is 40% off the entire menu except for select items. We had two servers, or at least two staff embers, came up to us to ask for our order, which was a little bit confusing. We then got waters and ordered a few items from menu. We then ordered an appetizer popcorn, chicken, a scallop Sushi, Salmon Sushi, salmon skin hand roll, and oshi roll. Unfortunately, we were brought regular salmon hand rolls, and what we later discovered as the hoshi roll. We were a bit confused when it was brought to our table, but it seem to have been a miscommunication when we were ordering. Overall, the food was OK. It was a bit fishy, so that was a bit unpleasing, but not from the way it looks. Looks was good, but was different from how it tasted. Food came relatively quickly. Although we did come for an early dinner, the ambiance seemed a bit dull with different table arrangements. The women's bathroom is kind of stuffed in the back of the restaurant and seemed a bit older with the toilet paper handle off and the door partially covered by a storage cabinet. Overall was 3 star experience, maybe during rush hour it's more lively and the food is a bit more fresh. read more

We got the jala jala roll and the super albacore roll. Both were super flavorful & amazing but my husband really loved the super albacore roll the most The calamari tempura was so crispy on the outside and soft on the inside too. Additionally, the crispy spicy tuna wasn't just your basic spicy tuna on top of crispy rice. It had avacado, mentaiko, & spicy mayo sauce. Overall, I had an AMAZING experience. Visited yesterday with my friend for a late lunch, and we were both extremely satisfied! Our waiter and sushi chef were very attentive and friendly with us. We ordered the Triple S, BSCR, and Alaska rolls along with the Crispy Spicy Tuna and they were so good!! The sushi also came on a large, fancy wooden boat and we were so shocked. Additionally, we were given two pieces of nigiri on the house, which is super nice and generous of them. I have been coming to Hoshi since I first moved down from the Bay Area for college in 2021, and I can easily say that this is one of my favorite sushi spots.
