Not authentic Hawaiian food. I have seen the owner yell at a customer over fish and always see him treat his employees like dirt. Only reason we eat here is because there is nothing else in the area. I would advice the owner to change his behavior towards people. It's really uncomfortable witnessing unprofessionalism while dining. read more

I usually get the combination plate which is steak and chicken over your choice of brown rice, white rice, or yakisoba noodles. I love their Jamaican jerk sauce and have bottles of the stuff at home! The portions are a decent size and reasonable to pick up for a lasts minute dinner on the way home. Do not forget the lumpias! They are Hawaiian egg rolls basically and they are addictive. read more

Have been a few times, coconut shrimp is good, but last night ordered the teriyaki chicken and beef, it came all chopped up over rice, which was strange. I know how to cut my own meat. rice was luke warm and meat was on the dry side, not freshly made for sure. I ordered through door dash. The delivery itself was fine, but I was missing half my meal, and they didn't send the drink I wanted. They need to update their website to offer sodas, which wouldn't have made me so mad if I hadn't ordered a combo plate and not gotten any of the sides. I won't order from them again. read more

Good place great service. The spam was well cooked and was delicious. Didn't quite enjoy the chicken teriyaki because it was a little cooler then I would have liked and wasn't a flavorful but the beer was good and a decent price. So all in all I would go in again. Tonight I placed a order over the phone the same way I have for years and today I was given the other combination. Who puts 2 combinations on their menu that has 2 different meanings? 1 comes with beef and chicken with rice and Mac salad and the other one comes the same but with ribs? When you make a call and you asks for the combination plate and you expect your food to come the way you've always gotten it and it doesn't. You then call them and get placed on hold one time because they are busy then talk to someone to then explain what happen then get placed on hold again so they can help others then get talked to again then placed on hold again to have someone else get on the phone to have to explain it all over again to then get laughed at because they said that I order the #18 which I NEVER said a number not knowing there's 2 completely different combination plates. Over the last 20+ years we've been coming here never had issues and tonight has now been our last visit here. Employees are completely rude and told me there's nothing they can do because it's a misunderstanding. Now that's funny. read more

The owner of this establishment is horrible. I called about a messed up order last week asked to talk to a supervisor. Talked to someone who said they would replace my order. Called today to get my replacement order and the owner was the one who took the call. He tells me that he is the owner and would not replace my order, he said that he does not have any managers. When he finds out who said that they would replace my order they can pay replace it. I told him that I did not want his staff to pay for my meal. He was yelling and cussed at me saying "I'm not going to replace your damn order" I told him he was being unprofessional and rude. I told him I was going to leave a bad review and hung up. He called me back! I called from my work phone so when he called back he wanted to speak to a supervisor. I called on my lunch on my own time, and you want to bring my boss into this? I will make sure to spread the word about this place and the horrible customer service. Your staff are the ones who got my order wrong. I just asked if there was anything they could do and they offered to replace it. I feel bad for anyone who works here. You will not be getting my service. read more

Went here based on a friends opinion. I came in with kinda high exceptions, as I eat at Hawaiian style grill all the time and my friend said it was much better than that. I was a little thrown off by the outside, walked in and was surprised! Pretty cool inside, however when it came to the food I was so disappointed. I ordered a combo plate with a little bit of everything. Chicken was okay, not dry but also not a lot of flavor. The beef was bad, imagine eating beef jerky, coconut shrimp okay, and the ribs were delicious. Anyways, next time I want Hawaiian I'll go to hawiian style grill read more

I used to have lunch here every other Thursday, place gets really crowded for lunch, wait staff are good and know the dishes well. I would love to eat here more but I can find cheaper places with good food also. If prices were cheaper then I would eat here all the time. My favorite! I have tried all the other Hawaiian food in Vancouver and nothing is even close to the great flavor at Hula Boy! They have really good sauces too. ( not that you need them the meat is so good ! ) I love the charbroil taste! The Mac salad is perfect, I always want more the marinated veggies and kim chi is also yummy . You can choose brown rice or white I have had both and they are both great! Also the Hawaiian burger is yummy too! I pretty much love everything on the menu! Great family owned place! 9 days from my wedding they bailed on catering. MONTHS ago we met with Herb at Hula Boy Charbroil to discuss catering our wedding. We told him our wedding was August 28th, an hour north from here, and we'd have about 80 people. He asked when we would eat and at that time I didn't know. I told him the ceremony would be around 4:30 though. He said we'd finalize everything two weeks before the wedding. We got a receipt stating all this. When we called a couple days ago he acted like he didn't remember, never would have given us that low of a price, and doesn't do catering Sundays. He asked us to come in and bring the estimate he wrote us. When we arrived he started explaining how he doesn't do weddings on Sundays, and now he will have to pay overtime. My fiancé and I are just silent... Cuz this is super awkward. He clearly didn't want to do it and we don't have a choice but to hope he will. So he moves on and asks what time we will eat. I said 6 pm, he acts astonished. That late? Yes. Dinner time. Then he looks at the ticket where he wrote 4:30, which you'll recall I told him months ago that I didn't know when we'd eat but the ceremony was at 4:30. He said we have to go by the time on the ticket. I told him that simply won't work at this point. He just said it again, we have to do it at 4:30. So after reminding him that the last time we spoke none of the details were finalized and he never called to ask more details, I just turned to my fiancé and said "let's just go" and this guy just says "okay". I love this restaurant. I would have been a life long customer. He and his employees would have been tipped well for their time. We would have paid whatever he needed us to pay to get him at our wedding that day. But now, he has no money from us and won't ever again. read more

Tried to return a slimy, wilted, brown garden salad ,and the owner sitting there told the server not to worry about it the salad was fine, he then continued to go on about bitchy customers. USED to love this place, here's the deal I understand sometimes salad gets old, I would of been happy with a fresh one, however when I heard him going on and on about me I was done.
