Called to get a last minute heavy purchase item moved from Aliso Viejo to LA. Luckily, he was available the same afternoon. It was raining and during Friday rush hour, and gave me a great price. He arrived and had the item tripple wrapped. He used extra care moving the item and helped me set it up --I had to give him an extra tip. He even came by my home before the delivery to pick up the cash needed to purchase the item (a Craigslist score)... Holy Sh*t these movers are magic! We had two households moved into on 2bed (way too much stuff) and we were moving into a slightly smaller 2bed. These guys managed to Tetris all the furniture and boxes into one truck to make only one trip! They wrapped everything so quickly and got everything loaded and unloaded in 6hrs (30m drive time included) which sounds like a lot but for the amount of indoor and outdoor furniture and over 20full boxes of extremely heavy books and extremely fragile glassware- I was expecting so much more time. They were super quick with the unloading and even helped unload our cars full of random smaller items. Everything arrived in perfect condition and they were so kind throughout. If something wasn't marked they asked which room to put it in - which I appreciated so much Bc I'm Type A . I almost tried to make this move myself and I'm so glad I didn't. I was in LA from out of town and needed to get a king bed moved at the last minute. Easy to do when you know people but when you don't know anyone it can be daunting. Figured we'd give Yelp a try and when we saw 5 star reviews for Ian we couldn't go wrong. We texted him on a Friday night and he got right back to us and set the move up for Saturday. He showed up when he said he would, came with the right equipment to move the bed and was done, door to door within an hour, which included the travel time, hauling the bed up a flight of stairs and setting it up. Ian is Great! When I was moving to a new apartment at the end of the summer, I was nervous about how I was going to move my furniture. After calling several companies and getting several dead ends and ridiculously high prices and time limits, I reached Ian. His prices are fair and he's extremely efficient AND he was available on short notice. As a broke grad student, I told him my budget and he worked to stay within it (meaning he really hauled ass without compromising the integrity of his work). He has everything you need for your move of any size. He will assemble and dissemble your furniture with care and wraps and protects everything nicely. You may be nervous about hiring some random guy off craiglist (where I found him), but he is legit. On top of that, he is personable, funny, and extremely nice. He also was in touch, with reminder email and confirmations about the date and time of the move. Yes, he WILL show up on time. Throw this guy some bucks for your move, you won't be disappointed. The only problem I had is that he was a single mover then (still warrants five stars though). Mark, one of Ian's referrals hooked me up and was so awesomely professional, fair and courteous (Mark is on the contact page on Ian's site). Mark gave me a courtesy text and call that morning, came on time and was completely ready with couch covers, padding, bungees - you name it. Five star service for SUCH a reasonable (teeny price). I recently purchased two items (one large tv stand / sideboard type thing, one medium-sized end table) from Urban Home in Sherman Oaks but their flat-rate delivery fee of $150 sounded a bit high to me. I found Ian on Yelp and also checked out his website, which includes rates, contact info, and even a video demonstration of him moving a fridge. I contacted him via email and he was prompt to respond. For $60, he drove to Urban Home, picked up my furniture, and delivered it to my apartment in West Hollywood (which is about 12 miles away). He I helped him carry the larger item up the stairs and into my place, and when I went out to his truck I was able to see that he had firmly secured the furniture in his vehicle. Ian helped me remove the packaging and arrange the items. Overall he was very pleasant and easy to deal with.
