We were in before 10 and the waitress said that it would be five minutes to be sat. (2 people) And then 2 people came after us and they were sat and 2 more people came after us again and were sat, so I walked up and asked her why we weren't sat. And they had totally forgot about us. Seating tables of 2 when we were a table of 2. In the end of it, we loved our waitress and we loved that we sat outside away from everybody inside because it was so crowded. The weather was beautiful, and there was a breeze. Zero flies so that's a big plus. There was only one other table close to us. So maybe it was good that we were forgotten about a little bit. The food was great as usual I always pretty much ordered the same thing but today I got the blueberry pancakes and they were also amazing. I'm extremely disappointed! I was told IHOP serves gluten free pancakes so I wanted to check it out! I called the restaurant and their AI bot answered. So I asked if gluten free pancakes were available and it confirmed they were. So my family and I went there and I was looking forward to giving them a try. When it came time to order, however we were told they didn't serve gluten free pancakes anymore and that upper management had made the decision not to serve them MONTHS ago! I was so disappointed I said never mind we didn't want to order anything and were leaving. The manager came out and I told him their AI said they still served gluten free pancakes and why was that? They didn't answer but offered me protein pancakes instead. I told him I have Celiac and can only eat gluten free. The IHOP I went to in Fresno serves gluten free pancakes by the way. So it figures those in Bakersfield would choose to regress and alienate a portion of their population who have dietary restrictions through no fault of their own. They were rude so I became rude as I missed my scheduled appointment waiting on them to figure out how to use the cash register...had the nerve to tell me they just changed the format in their computer system....really?
