Nadeem was our server. He was very attentive and polite. He is the best server I've ever had. He should own his own IHOP. He made sure our drinks were refilled and that we had condiments for our breakfasts. Our food was great. The banana and strawberry French toast was delicious and probably big enough to share as it comes with eggs, hashbrowns, and meat. The atmosphere was also comfortable! It's a little dark and woody. The bathrooms were super clean, and the bussers cleaned immediately and thoroughly after customers left. ALSO, THEY HAD A GREAT SOUNDTRACK. P.S. I can't exaggerate enough how awesome Nadeem is. Hungry, hot and out of gas. Traveling up the I-5 and need food, air-conditioning and gas. Stop in at I-Hop, which we had NO idea it existed in this area of nothingness. Temperature outside was well over 100 degrees. Inside the I-Hop was chilly. Score 1. Our server was Miguel was FANTASTIC! Score 2. He was so accommodating, pleasant and efficient. The food was your normal I-Hop fare, but it was the service that really stood out. Miguel even gave us to-go drinks for the rest of our long trip up the 5! Score 3. We were so appreciative of Miguel. To start with, I'm 60+ and a high risk Covid risk guy so making the decision to walk thru the door and even consider sitting for a meal required a lot of thought. I'm glad I did. The IHOP team here has this NAILED! I was so impressed with how the team handled everything from greeting me, to seating me (including lots of separation from others) that I was totally comfortable ordering an ice tea and BLT. Food was great - and glad to see the cook/counter team wearing masks and face shields - waitress went above and beyond. My friends and I came to eat after our 5hour long drive from Las Vegas, and 4 more hours to go to our destination. David in the front was super nice and welcoming when he sat us down and told us about the 10-15 minute wait on the waitlist and while we were waiting, we witnessed the most unprofessional interactions from the manager, Bobby and our server Joe to the cashier David. I would understand if someone is getting trained to respectfully advice them, take them to the back and talk to them in PRIVATE, but I deem it unfair for the server and their boss to correct David in-front of customers, or almost screaming out his mistakes. How do they expect their customers to react? I understand it might be a rush hour time, but that is no way to treat any one. We were given our receipt in the middle of our meal simply begging us to leave as soon as we can because we have the bill ready for you. When I visit the next time, I will not be stopping by this place. There shouldn't be any room for people to talk in a disrespectful way like Bobby and our server Jose did to David. read more

Friday night: check in to our normal haunt, the Best Western on the Stockdale Highway and then we surveyed the scene for a place to catch some dinner. Choices: Subway - no, Jared is a perv, Jack in the Box - no, tempted to eat the left side of the menu, IHOP - just right my wife says, something for any taste. We cross the street and connected to the Shell station is the International House of Pancakes. Oh joy we exclaim as we enter the restaurant. To our surprise this place is well kept. Clean throughout; tables, floors, Windows etc. We are impressed. We are shown to a nice booth and water with lemon is brought to us. Order in - I opt for the chicken dinner with broccoli, corn and garlic toast. My wife orders the vegetable omelette with hash browns. Food arrives after we chug a couple glasses of water. The chicken is crispy, moist inside and with four pieces just waiting to be devoured. The sides - broccoli is a bit over steamed and corn has a can taste but the chicken is finger licking good. Wife enjoyed the egg white omelette and hash browns with no complaints. For a truck stop this place is clean and all the servers are very friendly. IHOP on the 5 and Stockdale HWY earns 4 stars. read more

They got you by the short hairs, so expect a higher than normal price tag on that Rooty Tooty Fresh 'n Fruity. But at least this IHOP serves the same stuff as any other IHOP, no better, no worse. And the service was spot on. Super friendly and attentive. But beware the shared bathrooms and gas station patrons. IHOP and Shell are attached at the hip, so there's bound to be some cross-over between the two. Here's hoping your Short Stack doesn't come with a side of hill people. read more

Found this gem of a place after finding our motel room. After not going to an ihop in so long, I was pretty hyped. Delicious breakfast food and dinner food? Heck yeah. Came here with 6 other people. I got sirloin steak, cooked rare. Delicious steak. It was nice and moist, and cooked perfectly. The waiter was really nice. My youngest cousin spilled water, and he graciously cleaned it up after we asked for napkins. He also was very attentive. They ran out of yogurt for my cousin, and the waiter was really helpful. He explained he checked the fridge, freezer, everything. He offered other choices, which was good. The steak was so filling, that my family also tried some of mine, and agreed it was good. My sister got French toast and said it was good. It was fluffy and looked delicious. The only downside was it was a bit expensive, but oh well. Would recommend. read more
