I pick up breakfast every single Sunday from this location and usually it's Karen who brings out our order. This restaurant is always busy during this time even during the pandemic. Their service has always been friendly and order is always accurate. I went inside to pick up my order yesterday and saw how hard everyone was working. Cooks were back there moving as quickly as they could, the restaurant was hot and they looked tired. It seemed chaotic and they pull through everyday. Never thought I give IHOP a review but today it saved the day . Tried to go to some of the more popular places on Ventura for a breakfast / lunch and the wait was 55 min to an hour . IHOP set is down right away . Had the eggwhite omelette . With house sauce . Was very decently good with the house sauce . My brunch partner had a burger . I'm rating them a 5 star because I have always been impressed with the quality of their servers. My kids and I always talk about how the service here is superior to many restaurants 3 times as expensive. They are professional, courteous and generally very friendly - which might not always be easy considering how people treat their servers nowadays. Their food is consistently good and always has been. Their manager is normally there and stays on top of and supports his staff from what I can see. Bathrooms should be redone and kept cleaner. read more

Had not been to an Ihop for quite a while now, as I drive in to work today I spot one on my way in to work and decide to stop im. I was greeted by a young lady, tells me to sit anywhere I'd like. She brings me coffee and as I always remember it Hot & Delicious (Better Coffee Than Starbucks), she was not my waitress though a gentleman by the name of Mauricio was . Food: Simple! Scrambled eggs, Bacon, Hash Browns and the delectable Strawberry & Cream Crepes, all items fresh and delicious. Not to mention my good was out before I even read 3 sentences on the sports page, very quick, hot and ready to devour. It is funny how you just tend to forget about some restaurants and how good theh always have been, I will for sure be back soo. Alright look...it's an IHOP, that really should be enough said. But since you are asking... We came here on a Sunday morning just ahead of the brunch crowd (thank goodness!). Anytime after 10:30AM is a zoo and be prepared to wait in a small space that no one can really walk through and the staff there doesn't really want to move out of your way to let you through. We were seated behind the hostess stand in a section that's not part of the main dining room -- think in between the kitchen and the bathroom -- not glamorous and definitely not appetizing with kids running in between the tables. I made the error of trying to use the bathroom (a one seater) and didn't even make it across the threshold and returned to my seat. Let's just leave that there. As for the food, most of it arrived to the table cold. I really pitied the server because it's not her fault but she adjusted quickly. I ordered the "Simple and Fit" veggie omlette which was supposed to be around 330 cals (according to their website). I asked them to sub out the swiss cheese for cheddar. When my dish arrived it was weird. The cheddar cheese was shredded and put on top, not melted into the omlette like I had expected, but fine whatever, I'll eat it. But as I started eating it, I saw white cheese coming from inside the omlette and realized that they gave me double cheese...as in left the swiss in! (Thank goodness I'm not allergic, I just don't like swiss in general). Now it's no longer 330 cals which upset me since I'm trying to diet and was brought to IHOP by the group's consensus and it was way too late to ask for a new one because that place was a zoo. Bottom line, it's an IHOP, you know what you're in store for. If this was any other restaurant I would give it 2 stars but since it's IHOP, it can have 3. Okay, IHOP... You weren't too bad this time around. Got there on National free pancake day... And of course it was packed. Put our reservation in for 3 and we were told it was a 45 minute wait. We went out to a store close by for 15 mins.. And when we came back, we found out we had missed our name! But the nice lady quickly got us a table and sat us right away. Very nice of her to be considerate of us. Overall, maybe it was just me... But the pancakes were pretty darn good here. I guess I should keep in mind that they were free... So any free food is good. Lmao! We put our pancake order in and it came in like 5 mins. Yeah, I'm sure it was all ready already considering it was Pancake Day.. But that's still quick. Our waitress tried to be nice but she didn't even know the menu. I had to repeat multiple times what I wanted and even show her to read what I was asking for and I know I spoke clearly. The food tasted like it was thrown into a microwave and served to us. The mashed potatoes had the fingers prints of when they tried to shape it and the pancakes were not good at all. When the waitress brought our drinks, she was spilling them all because she didn't want to make 2 trips to bring water and hot chocolate for my friend and I. Crystal made sure everyone was happy and she came over more then any other person to take care of us without bothering us. I actually had a really nice breakfast here they had my very favorite gravy with biscuits, and their pancakes are really really good. Then the waitress and the hostess kept asking us every two mins if we are ok as we were checking on there yelp page . I haven't eaten at IHOP in ages ... like at least ten years! When someone mentions IHOP all I can think of is the Rooty-Tooty Fresh and Fruity, but after we arrived I see the menu is HUGE. Still, I decided to opt for the pancakes because that made more sense to me. The Red Velvet pancakes were very good and I love the touch of white frosting. The hash browns and sausage were pretty standard cafe type. The scrambled "eggs" were not. To me, the eggs were either powdered or came out of a 55-gallon drum. I would stick with the pancakes. Coffee was decent but nothing to rave about. We sat outside because we had our dogs, so it's a nice dog friendly seating area with a wrought iron fence around most of it. At least three of the outside tables had legs that wobbled. We moved twice and I finally stuck a butter knife under one leg to keep it from spilling my coffee. Table tops are also a bit nasty and maybe need some steam cleaning. But service was fast and friendly and the price was decent. Maybe next time I'll feel a little more in the mood for the Rooty Tooty. read more

We place an order on the app. After picking up the food Ihop Encino forgets to give us half our order. We call the restaurant and the lady up front was very pleasant apologizes for her mistake as she has the bag sitting there waiting for me if I want to return which I did not. I ask for a refund and she says the only way to get the refund is to call the 800 number related to the Ihop app. After being on hold for 10-15 minutes a very nice guy takes my information and promises someone from the restaurant will call me as the app can not refund me only the restaurant can. While everyone is very nice it is sad that no one follows up from Ihop Encino------it seems so easy in business to provide decent customer service but apparently not at this restaurant.
