Spinach & Mushroom Omelette and Fresh Berry Crepes.
    Pam B.

Had coupons from ihop since we are near and in between 2 locations. I prefer going to the Encino location. I've been here before mostly for breakfast where there's a wait time. I haven't been back in so many years so I decided to go and use the coupon as my younger son wanted to try it. We went at an odd time - sort of late lunch - after 2pm. Arrived and were seated right away as only probably 4 tables are occupied. I got the spinach and mushroom omelette- comes with unlimited pancakes. My son got the French berry crepes. Ordered drinks as well so we can use the coupon. My omelette was cooked well and not overly done and so filling. The pancakes are of course as good as I remembered it. Tried the different syrup flavors. Still prefer the regular one. Going off hours is great, restaurant is quiet and clean. And we saved $$ too as I only paid for 1 entree. Also always ask for extra butter, they don't give it unless you ask.

It's December 24, 2025, and I came here after attending Christmas Eve Mass at St. Monica Catholic Church. I actually remember coming to this IHOP in Encino last year on December 24 as well, with a friend, so I thought I'd make it a small tradition and come back again this year. My friend flew to Manila for the holidays, so I came alone this time. This is still one of my go-to places because it's usually quiet and not crowded. On some days, you can count the number of people inside on one hand. I really appreciate the sense of privacy and calm, especially during the holidays. They also have a weekday meal option for under $10 during the day, which is a great value. The restaurant is clean, the location feels safe, and it's easy to relax here. I usually order the Big Breakfast with two pancakes, bacon, two sausages, ham, two eggs, hash browns, and black coffee. It's my comfort meal whenever I'm in the mood for a classic American breakfast that doesn't break the bank. The service was very good. The server was friendly, attentive, and respectful of space, checking in just enough without being intrusive. Service was quick and smooth overall. This IHOP remains a reliable, comfortable spot for a quiet meal, especially on days like Christmas Eve.

Malibus fancy restaurant Geoffrey's brunch menu prices in comparison to ihop

I had to take off 3 stars for the price of breakfast. I got a pancake combo & coffee. I posted a pict of my receipt and with tip - it was $28 for one person. IHOP when did you raise your prices and turn into a white glove $$$ fancy restaurant ? Who can afford breakfast there? Anyways, Egg prices have come down you know. In comparison, I've also attached a picture of brunch menu at Geoffrey's in Malibu, a $$$$ restaurant. An omelette in Malibu with an ocean view, impeccable food and service is $29 and at ihop it is 20.99. Besides the ihop price, the food was decent. Wish I took a picture but I didn't. I got two small eggs, two pieces of floppy turkey bacon, a small square of hashbrowns that tasted weird and two pancakes. Coffee was good. I'm a bit disappointed. I'm going to have to I-hippity-hop somewhere else for breakfast next time. Wish you would turn back the clock with your prices a little bit. I will say that the restaurant was very clean.

There's music that's lively without being overbearing, and the staff is uniformly friendly. But... You have to order at the bar and, though they have runners to bring your food, you do have to hunt them down for anything after the delivery (extra ketchup, etc). While this isn't my favorite system at my age, to be fair, whatever the owners are saving on staff is reflected in the prices, which are absolutely below most places in the area for food that is good-quality and drinks that are generously poured. So yes, my wife's Espresso Martini was served in a deep-bellied Belgium beer glass, and my whiskey neat was a hefty pour. Yay!! For food, I ordered the Smash Burger, which is served with melted American, grilled onions and the house version of Russian dressing (as well as pickles, which I deleted). The burgers had a nice, smashed crust while remaining juicy, the cheese was properly melted, and the grilled onions had a terrific caramelized sweetness, while the house sauce was very well-balanced: ketchupy and creamy without being too mayonnaise-heavy. A very good smasher. My wife ordered the Big Texan Burger because she wanted cheddar and frizzled onions and BBQ sauce, though she deleted the bacon and pork belly that are normally included. This, too, was a very good burger: cooked to a proper and pleasing medium-rare and well-seasoned, with a good, fresh flavor to the beef. The onion rings were less successful, which are of the beer batter type, but seemed to be a commercial, frozen product. The coating was browned but not crisp, and the flavor was relatively nondescript. We didn't really eat them, and wouldn't order them again. And so, to me, The Tipsy Cow is a bit of a mixed bag: reasonably priced decent food and reasonably priced, generously-poured drinks -- but in a mostly self-serve environment that incrementally loses its appeal in relation to your age and your dining circumstances. Certainly worth a try, but you've gotta be in the right mood.

Sherman Oaks is gritty and the section of Ventura Boulevard that houses TLP is almost brutalist in its anti-establishment aesthetic. You would never know it was here if you didn't either live in the neighborhood or seek it out as I did. It is sandwiched between a completely non-descript place that I didn't even look at and a crystals shop with grafitti-etched windows (unfortunately!) but some really cool beads. Inside is the same -- no frills, a dress-down and survive-if-you-dare vibe. My pictures will illustrate what I mean. Nevertheless, the friendly service (shout out to our server, Patrick), the menu, and the quality of the food are well worth it. Again, see what we ordered in the photos attached. Everything was delicious. The floor, tables, and chairs were all clean. There is some kind of post-apocalypse rhumba going on with the ceiling treatment. It is almost reverse-logic art with all the shading (stains? velour movement?) and utilitarian installation it reveals. Love the walls though, and the worn distressed wood everywhere (see the pix, folks). A bonus was watching the Masters (Patrick let us linger) and sitting by a giant window that was open to the street. Parking is up a block or so on either side. We always find safe spots in Sherman Oaks. The music seemed to be one CD of an unknown (to me) vocal artist and was pleasant. The crowd was friendly and the whole atmosphere was like one big homey grunge party. You know those mornings you fall out of bed and almost don't want to change out of your pajamas or yoga threds? This is the place to go. I loved it. (NOTE: You may have to refresh this page twice to see my pictures, for some reason. grrrrrr)

We had Sam and she was probably the best waitress I have had all year - or even longer. Fantastic recommendations and command of the menu while being attentive....but not overly friendly. Just a down to earth, good waiter. My favorite was the lamb hummus. Super sweet and rich flavor. It came with vegetables that perfectly complimented it and fresh made bread that was out of this world fluffy. I almost got another order right then and there! Little Gem salad was damn good. Perfect amount of dressing to off set the almost bitter (but amazing) greens. The best cake was a show stopper. Top tier desert. If you like dates, then you must get this. Get it with a side of vanilla ice cream. Margarita pizza was good but I feel this place has better elevated cuisine. If you are REALLY hungry, get the pizza as filler because it's BIG! The fried chicken sliders were juicy and sweet! I went for dinner, but could tell from this dish that they do not mess around with their brunch! Flaky soft roll, good fry on the chicken, and super sweet pastry/honey drizzle vibes throughout. Those went down QUICK! This is definitely a great date night spot. Strong recommendation. Cheers.
