Visited for a special occasion. The staff were friendly and knowledgable about their food, which is always a good sign. The carpaccio/artichoke appetizers were amazing. Nothing flashy, but a great starter for the evening. An interesting flavour profile for the artichoke, but they served their purpose as an appetizer. I was so excited to try this restaurant for my birthday because of the Justin Bieber pasta (nothing special btw), but the experience quickly went downhill. When we arrived, the two blonde hosts made eye contact with us yet still ignored us continuing their side conversation and not paying attention to guests checking in. Celebrated my bday. Food and drinks were excellent as well as the service. The place is small, they have room for private parties and a bar but everything else is outside. I love that even tho you are outside they have plenty of heat lamps that don't smell like gas. I love that they have free valet parking. So 2 stars for the service which was great, waiters constantly came by to fill up our water glasses. But the truffle pasta was a major disappointment. Can't believe I wasted my birthday lunch on this bland meal. I paid $15 for the shaved fresh truffles on top which I thank God for because the fresh truffles was the only thing with any flavor on my plate. I also paid $28 for the cheese wheel upgrade but imagine my surprise when the first waiter just dropped it off table side and then the second waiter immediately just twirled it around a fork and placed it on my plate. No mixing or scraping of the cheese wheel to pick up any pecorino cheese flavor. When I asked our waiter about it, he said they finish cooking the pasta in its sauce on the cheese wheel in the kitchen. Ok but my pasta clearly had no sauce either. My husband had the linguini w half lobster, the tomato sauce overpowered any crab or lobster flavor. The lobster was also overcooked. We came here for a special occasion and left very disappointed. It has a relaxed but elegantly casual vibe, the best food, beautiful interior, lovely terrace on the sidewalk and superb service. The white truffle pasta that's mixed and tossed inside of a giant cheese wheel is one of the richest and most delicious things that I've tasted in my life. And the banana pie for dessert with dark chocolate is so decadent and delicious. I also love the zucchini soufflé and if you want something more simple, the swordfish that's grilled to perfection is wonderful. The service is faultless and it's like you're in the best restaurant in Milan...or maybe in Como...But it's Beverly Hills with the beautiful Southern California weather. The terrace just has a fantastic vibe. And for some reason, the saffron color of the shades and the opaque screens that cover the street side filter a warm flattering light that makes everyone look great. Perfect for selfies. The "Olive Room" is their private dining room; it's a large but intimate room with glass doors to the terrace that you can reserve for parties with real trees inside and it's just absolute magic. They will also help plan and put together a lunch or dinner party for you. I held one reunion lunch party here and it was so beautiful. The decor was so chic and nice that I felt like I was at a gorgeous wedding. Very special place. The owner Giacomino Drago is a master chef, and both he and his lovely wife Alessandra are so nice and thoughtful; they may come by and check on you to see how you're enjoying your meal. This place is always busy and Friday night was no different. Such a pick me up food. Service was amazing and seating outside was beautiful at night. Started with espresso martinis and ordered the mussels and clams. This was a great dish. It was hot, with some garlic tomatoe flavors. Followed that up with the truffle polenta, which was good but not really my taste for next time. I really wanted it to be cheesy but it was very creamy. For the grand course the truffle pasta in the wheel cheese. By this point we were so full but there's no way not to finish this delicious plate with fresh truffles on top. This is my favorite Italian restaurant. It's a true authentic gem, which is rare to find. The ingredients are fresh and of excellent quality. I highly recommend starting with the bread; it's the best you will ever have. I always ask for a side of butter. For appetizers, I love the Caesar salad. It can be a bit overdressed, so if you prefer less dressing, ask for it on the side. I also love the capricciosa, but I get it without the chicken. My favorite pasta dishes are the Agnolotti, which is green ravioli stuffed with mushrooms in a truffle sauce. However, by the time we left it was packed. Gave good wine recommendations and the food was well prepared. My favorite of course is the Paccheri Alla Justin Bieber. The bread at the beginning is also a must. The waiters are great, and very attentive. Very pleasant experience, I enjoy the fall decorations. There is valet parking offered, but there is also a lot of public parking available in the Beverly Hills city lots. The restaurant has an outdoor covered patio and an indoors section. The decor and ambience is not very impressive, I've definitely seen better in terms of "date night" material in West Hollywood. The food itself was alright, and pretty decently priced for the westside. We opted for a light appetizer with the prosciutto plate w/ burrata. Again, it was okay but not impressive, I've been to other restaurants which offered more cheese options along with spreads. I opted for the risotto Nero which was delicious, I'm a big fan of squid ink dishes in general so I'm easy to please when I see that option, but I thought the calamari was cooked well without that rubbery texture, and the scallops were soft yet meaty. I have been trying to go to Il Pastaio for eons. For some reason trying to get a reservation here was damn near impossible. Now it's like taking candy from a baby. It's a Beverly Hills hot spot, so I can see why, but the food is also really good so no surprise there. I had the Bucatini pasta but I kind of wish I tried a lighter sauce. It was my first time having Bucatini so I'm not mad about it, it was really good, just a heavier dish than I had expected. We also enjoyed the mussells as an app and these were wonderful. The service is kind and I appreciated the hostess for being accommodating when I had to abruptly shift my reservation. In terms of dining, the inside of the restaurant is where to be - it's classic Italian through and through. Though the outdoor street scene is also an appealing spot as well. We visited the restaurant today and ordered truffle polenta, pasta, and a bread basket. The pasta was tasty, but the truffle polenta lacked any real truffle flavor, which was disappointing for me as a big polenta fan, especially considering it was around $50. The real issue was the service. We asked several different waiters - four times in total, to turn on the patio heater. Each time they said they would check, but it was only after the fourth request that it was finally turned on. When I later asked for the bill, it also took a long time and multiple reminders before it arrived. Because of the poor service, we chose not to leave a tip. When the waiter asked why, I explained briefly. Instead of apologizing or acknowledging it, he simply said something like "Okay, thank you, goodbye" and walked away, then said a few unpleasant words in Italian as he left. Unfortunately for him, I understand Italian. It's a shame that if you choose not to leave a tip due to bad service, you're met with rude remarks in return. My dish was nothing extraordinary - it was just okay, i had to add copious amounts of black pepper just to give it some flavor. I could have made the same dish. The Apple Martini honestly smelled like dirty dishwater, but the lemon drop and cosmo were very good. My friend had the espresso martini and said it wasn't very good, but her dirty vodka martini was. Now we are wrapping up our meal (1 appetizer, 3 entrees, 7 alcoholic beverages, 2 non alcoholic beverages, 2 desserts later) and the hostess comes over toward our table and gets upset with our waiter that we are still seated (less than 2 hours).
