I was blown away by the Owners Ethics!!!!! I have a 2011 Tahoe Hybrid that has just about 170,000 miles on it. I purchased it Brand New in 12/2010. I take VERY VERY good care of my cars and tend to everything that is required without delay ever!! I had to get ALL my Oil Seals and Gaskets replaced because of oil leaks, given the wear and tear of the Seals and Gaskets.... :( This service also requires draining the Transmission Fluid, Oil, and Coolant, of course. He gave a VERY good price!! Most of all, I really felt great about the owner who has been there for 20 years, which says ALOT!!! I ALSO felt he and his mechanics ACTUALLY care about all vehicles that come in! And I was definitely CORRECT!! The owner initially thought(and I), of course, the Coolant would have to be replaced, given these repairs, but the mechanic was able to overt this because he saw it was very clean and probably was recently serviced; which it was 12,000 miles ago by the dealership! This saved me $138.24 because of the mechanics and owners' Acknowledgment, Hard Work, and Ethics!!! They did this Major Repair and Replaced a Window Motor, all in 3 days, which includes ordering all the parts! He was thinking it was going to be 4-5 days; he used the side of caution of time, given he is a responsible business owner. The Owner and the Mechanics have earned my trust!!! I just bought a 1995 Nissan Pickup. The previous owner had not registered the vehicle for the previous 5 years so I needed to get a SMOG on it. The issue was that there was also a check engine light on the vehicle. I called several SMOG check places and they all told me horror stories over the phone and how it would be so hard because of the age of the vehicle. I took it to Irvine Auto repair and they were able to find out what the problem was with the check engine light, get it repaired and SMOG the vehicle. IT PASSED! They did all of this for a very reasonable price. I will take my vehicles there in the future for sure. read more

These guys are so expensive for repairs. And unfortunately the last time I got my oil changed they put the wrong kind of oil into my car. It was still oil, but their own paper (and my manual) said what kind of oil to put in it (0W-20) but they put 10w-30 in it. I know because the guy wrote down on the paper that they put 10w-30 in it. Also, my mpg dropped significantly. The more I think about this, the more I think that if these guys can't nail an oil change when their own papers have the right instructions then I don't think you can trust them for larger repairs. I had another older car from 2006 that they kept fixing the A/C on. I spent thousands of dollars on the A/C over three or four different procedures and I eventually decided to just get rid of the car. Now I think that it may not have been the A/C unit but their mishandling of the situation. I'll never know. read more

I used to go to The Auto Shop next door however when they closed I decided to check out this place since it was right next door. Unfortunately everything about this place is bad. The girl at the front desk took about 30 minutes to check me in for an oil change. The oil change seemed pricey at almost $80 for an old Elantra! Then the owner called and said that my brakes needed to be changed but I remembered getting them done not that long ago so luckily I didn't get them done. He told me they were at 2% however when I got a second opinion right next door at Grand Auto Works they said my brakes were at 70%! I can't say enough good things about Grand Auto Works, GO THERE INSTEAD... Irvine Auto Repair is a hot mess. And I mean literally hot, the waiting room was about 105 degrees when I was there and no air conditioning. read more

They desperately need to use the ac on hot days like today. Letting their waiting area stay 99 degrees is inhumane. Much more expensive oil changes than the surrounding shops, but they were the only ones with last minute availability .. which is probably why. Do not bring your vehicle here. Preforms work before approval from customer. Leaves car messy, with tools still in vehicle. Coolant spilled in engine bay. Mechanics clearly enjoying there time there, not following procedure (if they even have one). We will see if the actual work was worth the price. read more

TLDR: This shop is the kind that gives mechanics a bad name. Don't waste your time or money; they're selling snake oil. I took my car in when the coolant light had come on and to have the brakes checked. The team did a full diagnostic report and came up with a number of things that apparently needed to be done to my car, including replacing the brakes and rotors, and replacing the drive belt... (I would later learn that my car doesn't even have a drive belt, it has a drive chain, which doesn't to be replaced). The whole thing was fishy to me, so I had them top off the coolant and replace the air cabin filter. I took my car to a brake specialist who told me that I had still had 70% brakes left on the front and 40% left on the back. Needless to say, I'm never going back. read more

My experience: I came here months ago to have my front shock and strut replaced. I was told it could be fixed for around $500 - ok, seemed expensive to me but its something I needed done. After waiting all day for the repair to finish, it was finally done. Great, so I leave and once my car got past 15MPH, THE WHOLE CAR STARTED SHAKING. .......this was why I brought it in initially! For that problem! Then they *fixed it*! But it continued! NO NO NO. If you test drove my car, how can you possibly allow this to happen? HOW can you tell me 'its done' and that youve test driven it when... it *clearly* wasnt? One of two things happened: either the mechanic's test drive never exceeded 15MPH (which is negligence), or they LIED about the vehicle having been 'done'. So guess what happens next? They say 'another $500... thatll fix it!'. Like a desperate fool, I doubled down and tried to be optimistic. They installed another shock and strut and my car is now drivable - with one issue. The front of my car makes a loud Popping sound every time I turn. It did not do this before. Heres where it gets worse - the guy working at the front said 'oh it will make that noise for a month or so, its normal'. This was four months ago. I cannot trust this business. I will go somewhere else. I hope you do too. read more

Scheduled a smog check. All information about the car was noted. I call them to update that we'd be running a little late, and again, everything sounds good - no problems. However, when my husband arrives (1) they say they had no smog technician scheduled for the day and (2) that they are closing up (they close at 5pm, and he arrived around 4:45pm). Would not recommend because apparently whoever you speak to on the phone doesn't know shit about what technicians will be available that day. Why schedule me at all for a smog check if no technician was even on-site that day??? read more

I got a smog check and was really happy with everything except a guy that worked there named Andy he was just grumpy but I looked past it because it was quick and the receptionist was really friendly and sweet. They informed me I needed an oil change so I brought it back the next day and was greeted by the friendly receptionist again and of course Andy came in all grumpy and was rude to me but I let it go and the receptionist apologized. It is clear that Andy is in live with the receptionist and gets territorial over her if another male talks to her, sitting far away from everyone I took my mask off and the second that happens he starts harassing me telling me I can leave and he hasn't started my car yet just being a complete ass which was super uncalled for then storms away and slams something. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Called to ask if they take walk ins for a quick oil change. The man on the phone said yes, "come on in, we aren't busy!" I show up in the next 10-15 minutes, walk in, and get blank stares by the guy who was just on the phone with me. No hello, no greeting to say hi and welcome, nothing. I ask if I can get an oil change and he proceeds to say he might not be able to fit me in without an appt - he looks angry Im there bec it was close to 345pm and maybe they were closing soon? Anyways, he takes a few minutes on the computer to take down my information. While doing this, again, no interaction from him whatsoever. Just looking pissed I'm there without an appt. he then proceeds to quote me for an oil change and says it will cost 139$. For just an oil change?
