Every time I drive pass the factory sign along 101, I'd imagine how cool it would be if there was a Willy Wonka-styled factory churning out these delicious treats. I spend all my money trying to get that Golden Ticket! The toughest part about coming here is trying to hold back the desire to buy everything! It's-It has been a 90+ years San Francisco institution, and I hope they continue well pass the century mark providing joy and happiness to everyone who gets to enjoy their products. The difference between the Factory Shop and the retail outlets is that you get to enjoy many more flavors. But with the factory, to get the big price discount, you'll need to purchase at least 24 combination of It's-It, Big Daddy, Super Sundae & Chips It - essentially buying a case. A case would probably last less than a week in my household :-) Dry ice available for purchase if you're taking them a longer distance. Last year I discovered Its-It ice cream at Target and now it has become my all time favorite ice cream sandwich. I was really happy to find that they had a great deal on Groupon so today I came in to redeem my purchase. This place is located really close to the airport in Burlingame. When I drove here I was relieved to see that there was street parking available in front. The store itself is on the smaller side. It's really a grab and go kind of a place without anywhere to sit and eat. The store is simple with a beautiful mural on one wall then merch and an ice cream freezer on the other. Since they produce ice cream right next door, they're probably not going to run out of the flavor you like. Speaking of flavors, they have so many! My guy and I are huge fan of It's It Ice Cream. We were lucky to be in the Millbrae area and we dropped by. We were hoping there was a factory tour but due to Covid, there was none. So we both got the Cappuccino flavor since we both haven't tried it. Delicious! I wish I could have eaten more flavors (wishful thinking). But, so worth it to go. The service was also so nice. I have lived in the SF Bay Area for 8 years now but today was the first time I've tried these babies!! We had a work celebration at work and these were being given out by management for a job well done. Of course, I had to get myself the Mint ice cream sandwich. The ice cream wasn't super great but it pairs well with dark chocolate dipped oatmeal cookie!!! I'm a fan of anything dark chocolate and mint so this is an instant fave. The freebies at work were either mint, chocolate or vanilla. Since I work at the airport, I headed to their Factory Shop in Burlingame which was only 8 mins from me. They close at 5:30pm so make sure you get there before then! Iiterally just pass by this place and saw the It's It sign but never really paid much attention to it thinking it's just another ice cream. Best tip I can give you which I got from my coworker was to buy the $10 Groupon deal before going to the factory store. With $10, you get to mix and match 12 ice cream sandwiches. You can choose from mint, vanilla, strawberry, pumpkin, chocolate, cappuccino and green tea (w/c is sold exclusively at their store, not anywhere else)!!! You can also throw in their newest Chips It (cookie ice cream sandwich) or the Big Daddy and Sundaes except for the Nuggets. Is it just me or their nuggets seem to look super similar to the packing of Nestle Dibs?! B Also if you just like the oatmeal cookies in the ice cream sandwich itself, they sell these dark chocolate dipped cookies for $5/box in the store! 12 cookies per box. Whatever you fancy, you can do the Groupon or just buy the $24 for 24 pcs deal...so basically $1 a piece. If you buy it individually, it's a bit pricier costing you $2 per sandwich. So your call. These are actually good deals...say if you need to bring something to a party - just grab these goodies and you're all set haha :) I didn't know that It's-It is the "official food of San Francisco" from an article I read. But a bit of history, the shop has been in Burlingame for 70 years and has been an SF tradition since 1928. I've had this ice cream from the grocery stores in LA but they only have vanilla and mint but this factory store has other options not available in LA. This is the factory retail store which unfortunately is only open Monday through Friday and doesn't have actual factory tours. Nonetheless don't miss out on tasting other flavors such as chocolate, strawberry, cappuccino, green tea or pumpkin. You can purchase one, two or twenty-four! They also can pack your order in a dry ice container so you can make it back to Southern California if you want to bring some home. They even sell It's It shirts and other novelty items. I purchased a Groupon that cost $8 for a dozen It's-It Ice Cream Sandwiches and I must say I am not disappointed! Getting here is super easy. The store is located in Burlingame just a few minutes drive off of 101. The store itself has a tiny parking lot right out front, but there is ample parking on the street in front of it. I came here on a Friday afternoon close to 3 pm and surprisingly there was a line out the door, but it only took about 10 minutes for me to get in and to swoop my ice cream! The store does offer dried ice for sale if you're traveling far. With the groupon I could choose 12 of any of the ice cream sandwiches on their main menu, so I got a combination of their green tea, mint, strawberry, chocolate, and on chips it. It's been nearly a week and I have eaten more than half of them! I love supporting local businesses, especially when their product is so tasty, so I will definitely be back in the future! read more

Passed by here a few times before and have made it a point to not pass it up again when in town. I was really expecting more of a factory similar to what you'd see at Ghiradellis but you won't get that type of experience here. There is just a store front with everything Its-it. From clothes to ice cream sandwhiches... thats pretty much it. You can take a box to go but will need to be able to put it in a fride within 25 minutes otherwise you have to buy a box from them with dry ice, extra charge of course. Cool staff and mural inside.
