While Jason's Deli is not my go-to, Chris the manager will go out of his way to ensure you a good experience. He is constantly wiping tables down, refilling the salad bar (which is highly uncharacteristic of most managers I've come across) and will ask you how your meal is. This location is extremely friendly, clean and professional. I would definitely come here again the next time my mom wants to buy me lunch. haha read more

We almost always head to Jason's on the weekend and usually it is pretty good. We had a terrible experience today. We waited 25 minutes for our sandwiches and the manager was rude when we went to check on the order. To add insult to injury, there was no ice cream! When we pointed it out, the manager brought out the mix for ice cream but didn't add it to the machine. He left it and went to work behind the counter. We finally just left. read more

I like this place okay, but it seems a little unorganized.. a little chaotic. The buffet for salad seems to be wedged in uncomfortably with the line of traffic of people getting their food and drinks and ice cream. The whole process of getting a fresh plate is a little strange. The salads are pretty good and tasty. I recently moved to Tucson and was thrilled to find a Jason's Deli on Broadway. I order my favorite, The Ruben sandwich to go with a side of potato salad. I would like to think the young woman/cashier who took my order, may have had a bad day. But, there really was no excuse for her "attitude." Customer service plays a large part the rating a business receives. My order was ready after a short wait and I was on my way. If you haven't tried The Ruben from Jason's Deli, you are in for a real treat. The sandwich is huge, filled with Swiss cheese, corned beef, sauerkraut and Thousand Island dressing presented on toasted Rye bread. I was not disappointed. My food rated 5 stars, however with the "attitude" of the cashier, I can only give it 4. read more

Customer Service by Manager is Terrible and that is the 1 star rating - can you image insulting elderly COPD customer when he is trying to breathe and eat. I refused to provide photo ID and cashier served me and then comes the supposed woman manager to read me the riot act while I am trying to breathe and eat. An 82 year old war veteran with top security clearance is insulted to have to provide photo ID - rest of the world is happy with card and security code for purchases. I could not eat in peace and told her to to refund my money and I would never return. She said she would be delighted to do that and get rid of me but then dragged her feet while I was still trying to breathe so I left for my car. Life is too short for this. Actually food is good without such an ego maniac manager. I am seriously considering lawsuit. Actually two days ago I was delighted with food and delightful male manager Chris that was there and I told him Was tickled to find a Jasons Deli in Tucson as had great experiences in Kansas City Jasons Deli. In any event food is 5 stars but bad customer relations and policy to require photo id in lieu of normal credit card purchase with or wo code - most $10 purchases do not even require signature. So I have in mind that I want a sandwich on rye. Coming from my first job, on my way to the next this day I decided to stop by a sandwich shop for dinner. It's not intentional but I likely radiate a vibe that says I'm busy and don't have time to wait. Besides, I'm a computer guy. Computer guys are always busy. I picked up a menu and started to read through it but then I quickly put it back down. Do you remember the point in which you stopped looking at menus and started actually talking with the waiter? Who would know better than the person preparing and selling the food what is good? They see what people like, what dishes do well and which ones do not. I decide to give it a go. After a short talk with the waiter, I chose the New York Yankee. The sandwich was good. The serving size was more than adequate so I was able to enjoy the second half of the sandwich later that night. The staff was friendly and attentive. I was asked how I was doing and if everything was OK. The atmosphere was calm. Overall, it was a very nice meal. I will definitely return the next time I crave a good sandwich. Jason's East Broadway Tucson, AZ... Excellent Excellent... My wife and I moved to Tucson recently and was tired of the same old "fast food" or ready food restaurants. As we regularly traveled throughout Tucson we kept our eyes peeled for a dine in that served good, fresh food, along with a friendly atmosphere. Two weeks ago we spotted Jason's Deli and found what we were looking for. Upon entering Jason's we were greeted by attentive counter staff that were warm yet professional which immediately made us welcome and comfortable. Your order staff waited patiently as we looked over your menu. The menu itself was appealing to us with a good selection health conscience items that fit our dietary needs. My wife settled on the salad bar and I the Southwest Mesa Salad. Once seated a very pleasant employee named Trisha greeted us. We told Trisha that it was our first time at the deli and liked what we had seen so far. Trisha told us about more about what the deli had to offer, such as the items that were included with my Southwest Salad. My wife made her salad to her liking and my salad was delivered to our table within 3-4 minutes after ordering, neither of us were disappointed! My wife was very impressed at the fresh, crispy selection that the salad bar had to offer and I enjoyed the way the flavors my salad deliciously melded together with just the right amount of spices in the dressing. While enjoying our meal Trisha made it a point to ask how the meals were and to let her know there was anything we needed. My wife and I observed Trisha as she went about her job tasks and noted how she remained very upbeat as she cordially greeted every party and individual that dined in Jason's. It was obvious that Trisha enjoyed her job and that she not only diligently performed her job tasks but went above and beyond to make customers welcome and attended to. We have returned to Jason's twice since our first visit and pleasantly everything was the same, excellent food, professional staff, and Trisha. With this we will continue to return to Jason's. read more

I absolutely love Jason's Deli and would recommend it to anyone who hasn't tried it. My only regret is not trying to sooner! They have so many delicious and healthy options on the menu that you can't go wrong. I always tend to get the Manager's Special because you can get some of everything that way. The California Club hits the spot! One of the biggest attractions is that the produce and bread is always super fresh, and some of it is even organic. The price is a bargain considering what you get for it and it's a great, family friendly atmosphere that services your food quick. Better yet, there is no charge for the fructose free ice cream. Who is this guy Jason and why does he give away free ice cream with a sandwich purchase? Who does he think he is - Jason Clause? Oh right - he's the guy whose name is on the big sign, under which is sold some mighty tasty, mostly healthy, sandwiches. And soups. And salads. And... well deli stuff. And extras! Combine all of that together and you get a pretty great deli. There's a lot to like about Jason's Deli. The portion sizes (always big), the quality of meats (thinly and tasty), the veggie freshness (it is - except where noted below), the supple bread (oh so supple), the price (very reasonable), and the extras. The extras are what really sets Jason's apart. I love the specialized "to go" counter, for example, which gets you in and out quickly if you're just picking up. I love that they deliver *and* they're fast (used them at work many times). I love that their staff is super friendly even when they're busy - and they're always busy. And I love the free soft serve ice cream. The ice cream choices aren't huge - chocolate or vanilla (or twist), sprinkles or chocolate syrup, and bowl or cone - but the fact that they even have this *and* it's free is just sweet. Pun intended. Even mentioning Jason's now gets lots of nods and "ooo'ing" and "when can we go baaaack?" Now for the very minor bad things about Jason's. First, they give chips with the sandwich purchase but they're *just* plain chips. Good enough and salty and all that - but I'd rather have a selection. Sometimes I'm just craving some Harvest Cheddar Sunchips or some thin-n-crispy Lays Sour Cream and Onion. Or Doritos! Or some extra crunchy jalepeno chips! Yep - it's a minor quibble, but worth noting. Also, the last time I went, the lettuce was about as skimpy as Brazilian bikini and just as flimsy. I ordered a club - turkey, ham, bacon, and fixins - and the fixins consisted of a single thin piece of lettuce amidst the mounds of yummy meats, bread, and dressing. The lack of a proper lettuce proportion didn't really bother me, but for some that might be a minor setback. I took it as a sign that I should have a bit more ice cream since my belly had *that* much more room. In that perspective, maybe the flimsy lettuce was a *good* thing. Maybe. read more

Food is consistently good here (5star). But back east politics have no place in Arizona (1star). I refuse to ever go back to this restaurant as long it is posted NO GUNS at the front door. I don't even own a gun but I feel safer around people openly carrying then being around some lone wolf who's hiding one in his jacket. Took a few friends who have never eaten at a Jason's deli she ate a club ( witch is massive ) and my other friend had a Ruben. They loved it and the FREE ice cream was the iceng on the cake. I didn't see that they had mufulita and got one to go and also a hot pastrami for my friend's wife. Service was great and was the food. read more

Manny G has great customer service and he is very knowledgable about the food that they serve. He was pleasant at the register and then came around while we were eating to ensure we knew of the complimentary items at the salad bar and the free ice cream after we are done eating. We used to really enjoy Jason's. Been going to Jason's for many years and I agree with a previous review that the service and food have gone steadily downhill. Very cold chicken nuggets, had to ask them to be warmed which they did quickly. Barely warm soup, and one wrong order. There were no spoons, forks, small plates or ice cream bowls. We had to wait for some to be brought out. Ice cream was too soft and the machine was apparently going out because people after us didn't get any. The only reason I'm giving two stars is the mac and cheese was hot and good and the turkey wrap was ok. We hadn't been in a while because of similar problems. I'm sad to say this will be our last visit. There weren't many people there and it's usually packed at 12:30 on a Sunday. Guess other people feel the same. read more

It pains me to only give this place 2 stars because I LOVE their food. However, I very rarely eat-in here. More often than not, I get take-out during my lunch break at work. My biggest issue with them is how unorganized they are over the phone and at the counter. Multiple times, I have called them to place my order as soon as I exit the building I work at and they ask to place me on hold for "just a few moments." But on multiple occasions, I arrive there before they take me off of hold, it is a 10 to 15 minute drive to get from work to the deli. Being placed on hold for this long is extremely unacceptable. Whenever I have walked in and told them that they STILL have me on hold, they look at me like it's my problem and never apologize. I always regret not asking for a manager but I'm always in a hurry when I go here. Another huge problem that I have had with them is that I will walk in, pay for my food and the cashier will just walk away. This is extremely frustrating since 9 out of 10 times I can see my food sitting on a shelf getting cold. Lastly, they are horrible about giving an acurate estimate for how long it will take for the food to be ready. I will usually call and they will say that it will take 20 minutes but I will get there 10 minutes later and the food will already be sitting out and getting cold. read more

I like Jason's Deli for sandwiches, but I just had their salad bar and I found it to be pretty average for the cost (about $9.00). I added a bowl of chili for another $2 for a grand total bill of about $11.60 without a drink. I did not think this was a very good deal for what I got. I would recommend Rincon Market's salad bar above Jason's deli. Much more to choose from and I found some of the veggies at Jason's to look old and the iceberg lettuce was starting to brown. If you are an "all you can eat" kind of person, Jason's could be a good value because I think it is unlimited, but that is not my game. I just want a good salad with a decent bowl of soup for around $8-$10. Jason's sandwiches are quite good if you are a frequent sandwich eater. read more

The food is pretty good. However, the last three times we had take out from here, they messed up my food. They always get my husband's order right, but they always get mine wrong. How hard is it to make a freaking gluten free salad? Seriously? They even assure me it is correct. I mean, last time, they forgot the turkey on a TURKEY salad...that is like forgetting the stupid lettuce! Two times ago when I called and told them the order was wrong, the manager on duty assured me they would send us a gift card in the mail, which we never got. Lesson learned that not only do I need to check EVERY detail on our take out order, but we can't take common sense for granted in this world. Ive ordered the beefeater before, and its very good, however recently went with the family, the wife ordered a pastrami/corned-beef sandwich that supposedly came with mustard. I told the girl to make sure the meat was"lean" cuz the wife hates fatty pastrami, but the girl misunderstood and made it a "slim" sandwich, which means half the meat...no prob, except the meat was horribly fatty, whole pieces inedible, cut too thick and cut with the grain making it tough; also, no mustard. There was one slice of meat that was almost pure fat, a tiny stripe of corned beef thru it, so nasty no one in their right mind would put it in their mouth, except maybe a 90 year old gramma from the old country who enjoys blood-tongue sausage and headcheese. I have worked in a deli before, and know how to properly slice meats, if someone orders "lean" meat, you can slice it off the lean part of the brisket. there is a fatty piece of corned beef attached with fat to the lean brisket part, if you leave it attached when u slice it, that part is angled different than the brisket and it slices with the grain rather than against, making it tough. The manager refunded our money for this sandwich. The kids turkey was good, although some of it appeared to be bits and pieces, like the pile that gathers under the slicer blade, similar to the saw dust under a saw. Kid had ordered with honey mustard; no mustard again. My sandwich was also ordered "lean" with 1/2 pastrami 1/2 corned-beef. Apparently the girl thought I wanted an "extra" portion of meat, rather than the half and half i ordered, but unlike the wifes sandwich, when I ordered mine lean they doubled the size!. Also, it was very fatty, with thick inedible pieces mixed in with other pieces. The manager explained that they slice all the meat up ahead of time, and then "mix it all up in a bowl" to evenly distribute the fattier meat with the leaner. UNREAL! , 25 years in the biz and I have never heard of this practice, meat can easily be sliced to order if someone wants a leaner cut, and maybe some sliced ahead of large rushes, but the mass slicing and mixing of the meat produces a dry tough fatty low quality product. I have actually seen hot corned beef and pastrami sliced fresh and hot right out of the steam table, onto fresh bread, and served..no pre-sliced meat, no microwaves to heat the meat...thats quality. But not here, overall a bad experience for the money, if u like beef, order the beefeater, but if u like good CB/PAST, dont order it unless u love lots of tough presliced fat. read more

Bought sandwiches Turkey Cranberry and turkey club croissant to go. A bit pricey. Bread was a bit hard and dry on the first sandwich and both seemed small sandwiches without much filling. I guess everything is downsizing to keep prices the same. Fresh fruit with brown sugar yogurt dip was delightful. Had chicken wraps dining in for dinner. Once again small wraps but great fruit. We ate at the Jason's Deli and Broadway for the first time, as we happened to be in that area. Usually I eat at the Jason's Deli on Oracle near my office, and they cater for our meetings; they are top notch all the way around, so that is what I am used to. The atmosphere, food line, and quality of food at the Jason's on Broadway was totally different. Different management. The interior looked dingy. The cashier was friendly. The bus person was clearing tables and scraping food into the attached trash bucket the dining room right next to people eating, which was off-putting. At Jason's on Oracle they take the trays with plates to the back. There were only 2 people working the line, and a couple of people taking food out to the tables. I saw a manager once. People were lined up for take out and eat in. As someone else commented, it seems they have a lack of product. When our food finally arrived, a Plain Jane Potato and a Grilled Cheese with what was supposed to be Tomato Bisque, it was totally different in appearance and quality compared to Jason's on Oracle. I would recommend that they go shadow and learn from Jason's on Oracle to improve their store and the food. read more

Jason's Deli is a great place. They have delicious sandwiches and salads. Their salad bar is always super fresh. They have great options for kids.
