I have driven by this eatery a couple of times but never thought to go in. On Thursday, July 9, 2015 , after driving around the parking lot a few times undecided on what I would have for lunch I decided to give them a try. The staff was very friendly and greeted me as I walked in. It was a little busy but the staff seemed to be handling the crowd well. I was waiting in line to order I noticed a staff member sitting at a table, I'm not sure if she was on her break/lunch; however, when I asked her the difference between the regular and giant size subs she gladly answered my question with a smile. The staff member who took my order gave me recommendations when I told her it was my first visit. I settled on the Big Kahuna cheese steak minus the mushrooms on rosemary bread. The sub was a little pricier than a sub you would get at places like Subway but the sandwich was pretty tasty. I think I definitely will be back. Oh and when the cashier was checking me out and heard it was my first visit she offered me a complimentary cookie. She told me they call it a "cookie for the rookie" which I thought was pretty cute. read more

Tried this place for the very first time. The food was decent but everything from ordering to paying was painstakingly slow. It seems like the staff is new & are still learning the ropes. As far as the veg station goes, there's not much to choose from but I believe their meat selections are of higher quality than subway. Maybe we'll try again at the other location in the future. read more

I'm not much of a sub person so I wasn't sure to give this place a try. I am SO glad that I ignored myself because this place was delicious! I highly recommend the chipotle cheese steak with rosemary bread! I walked in at 11:45am on a Monday, and there was no line. I wanted a hot roast beef and cheese, which isn't exactly on the menu, but they said they would make it anyway. I liked their flexibility. I also like that they actually grill the meat; you can see the fellow at the grill, working on your sandwich. would have liked a little more meat, but it was adequate, and very tasty. Pit stop with my parents on our road trip. I was impressed by the fresh cut meat and cheese, I did appreciate the freshness. I had the buffalo chicken; they cooked the chicken (maybe heated?), that was nice. Very disappointing hot pastrami. Knew it would give me indigestion last night. It did. More bread than meat and condiments. My wife had a similar sandwich first made with the wrong bread. Disappointing meal. Few customers on a Friday night, probably the reason why. Staff was helpful, friendly, and very courteous. The best part of the meal was the bag of Cheetos. Jersey mikes is higher quality sub restaurant. The staff working at this location are extremely friendly and try to carry out conversations with their customers when they can. The only thing I dont like is the seating arrangement and the fact they dont carry coke zero. Those are the only problems and thats after knit picking. They store there meats and cheeses in refridgerators. Its just nice to see the food being preserved. Gordon ramsay would be pleased. read more

We love these guys! I'll start by saying I have visited all 3 locations in Bakersfield and as a company, as a sandwich, and as a experience we are happy every time but the guys and gals working this location are awesome!!! My husband even got a few of them talking to him about the secret menu items a few weeks ago and now all he wants to do it try everyone he can! lol I'm personally a fan of the #13 mini on white and we just get our toddler a grilled cheese ( which isn't on the menu but they do it for you without even batting an eye, another reason we love them) my husband like I said likes to mix it up but no matter your taste buds they have the stuff to make you happy here. I ordered a turkey sandwich and a kids meal and a medium Pepsi the girl asked me what type of bread I wanted and then told me to go pay the cashier, while paying and talking to the cashier the girl that took my order started asking me what I wanted on the sandwiches everybody was talking at once I was trying to tell the cashier I didn't want the cookie or drink that came with the kids meal the cashier rang it up it was $13.02 but after I said I didn't want the cookie and drink it jumped to $14.32 I was like what it's more expensive to not get the cookie and drink she just stood there and looked at me I gave her $20.32 took the sandwiches and started to walk away noticed I didn't have my glass for my drink when I pointed that out she said Oh that's extra I didn't charge you any way she ended up giving me a cup because I paid for a kids meal and only got a sandwich. When I got home I noticed she didn't give me my change so I called to talk to the manager they said he wasn't in but the guy that answered the phone said he was a supervisor so I told him my story and I didn't get my $6.00 he said there would be no way to know if the drawer was over or short because if it's $15.00 over or short they don't bother with finding it so they wouldn't be able to give me my money but he'd have the manager call me so far 24 hours and no call. This is my 3-4 time visiting this location and 2 things besides the great food catch my attention. The stores cleanliness and the friendliness of the entire staff. I was just telling my friend that no matter what time of day we go, they are always busy cleaning or prepping, that says a lot. The manager and owner must be proud. I enjoy eating at Jersey Mike's. The Stockdale Hwy location is my favorite one due to the employees and it seems my subs are usually correct. The Coffee Road location I have had couple of issues. Receiving the free subs is a big help. Always something free is great, especially if you enjoy it. I was bored and needed to take my daughter for a walk. I wasn't expecting much so I wasn't disappointed. The bread was soft crispy and warm, the meat was not well seasoned. My sandwich was exactly as described so why the two star rating? Because this chain is just meh I would not recommend getting out of your car to go in.
