I hadn't come here for lunch in a year until last week. I was reminded of how good and fast it is. I was feeling a sandwich experience and Jimmy Johns delivered. My vegetarian sandwich was made a lightening speed (as in, don't sit down after you order, stand at attention because they are going to ring you up in about 1 minute). The ingredients are all very fresh from my alfalfa sprouts to my delicious provolone. I left and exclaimed to my lunch partner...'Boo Subway...Boo' and gave them a thumbs down. I have never really liked Jimmy John's. I have always thought that their bread tastes like paper and their staff tends to be rude and awkward. But, they are normally cheap and fast for delivery so I would partake on occasion. However, after what will be known as the Jimmy John Nightmare of 2015, I will never order from them again! Due to a sudden onset of hanger, my friend and I decided to order JJ's so as too sooner feed our stomach demons. I took the time to download their app and fill out all the crap to create an account. I was finally able to hit submit. I immediately got a pop-up message saying something about missing the time period so it would be submitted a half hour from the time I ordered. Weird. I brushed it off since I did immediately receive a confirmation email and it said my delivery time was selected for ASAP. As I lay on my couch perishing from hunger, I watched the time tick by. Fifteen minutes, twenty minutes, and then thirty minutes! I attempted to remain calm thinking that I got the weird message and so they might have just received my order. Fine! I will wait while my stomach demon slowly devours me from the inside! And another 30 minutes passes.....What.The.Hell. It never takes them more than 20 minutes to fulfill and deliver orders, because I mean hello, they are freakin' sandwiches, not oil paintings! I was so filled with rage that I was afraid to even call the store. I can say horrible things when I am hangry. So my friend did. It was just starting to ring when there was a knock on the door. We rushed to liberate our bag of food from the weirdo delivery kid. We dumped our edible treasure onto the ottoman and......they forgot one of our chips and cookies!!!!! Curse them! I was so livid I didn't even want to bother calling the store. It would probably be another thirty minute wait to get my cookie and chips. Screw that! I tolerated JJ's before, but now they are on my black list! I just wish I hadn't tipped 20%. read more

First off, let me start by saying I LOVE jimmy johns. I recently moved to the area from California and am super excited to be near jimmy johns because they aren't in California, at least nowhere near where I came from. My fiancé and I stopped in this location after the Sounders game last weekend. It's was pretty late, maybe 9:30 pm, and they were closing at 10. When we walked in the door, we were completely ignored. No greeting, no eye contact, no nothing. There were only 2 people working, a young guy making a sandwich and a girl slicing meat. I get that it's late and maybe you're about to close, but a simple "Be right with you" would have been great. Instead we stood there awkwardly for a few minutes. Finally the girl working the slicer stops and comes around to the main counter and stares at us. Again, no greeting, no "how can I help you"... She just stands there looking at us. So I asked "are you ready for us?" Her response: "well, ya". So. Rude. On another note, it took the guy who made our sandwiches a good 5 minutes to get them out. Not a long time by any means, but jimmy johns whole motto is "crazy fast subs", so that was disappointing too. We sat and ate our sandwiches, and watched as the counter girl's attitude continued as many other people from the game poured in. I was literally in disbelief by the time we left. I usually stop by for lunch kind of early, like ten forty, and its always empty and the service is fast and reliable. I think Jimmy Johns lives up to its slogan of speediness. I've never had their delivery, but if its anything like their in store service I'm sure its great. I for one am a big fan of Jimmy John's subs. I love that they offer 8' subs instead of Subways 6" or 12". 8" seems to be the perfect compromise. Delicious food, clean and fast service. Good sandwich spot if you work downtown! read more

My Michigan friend told me about Jimmy John's, so I was excited to try this one. It's like a more glorified Subway, and of course, much better! I ordered the #3, the totally tuna, with the 7 grain bread. Each bread slice was 1 inch thick! Crazy! I normally don't like too much bread, but they put enough tuna to balance it all out. My boyfriend weren't hungry while at Pike Place Market. Shame. We decided to take the harbor cruise and had some time to kill before we needed to board, so we wandered about, worked up some hunger and came across Jimmy John's. Apparently this is a chain? Who knew? We don't have these in San Diego, so it was news to us when we walked in. The service was super nice, funny and FAST. By the time our order was rung up, our sandwiches were all ready for us. I got the Beach Club (with added bacon, because...hello, BACON). My boyfriend got the JJ Gargantuan, because he's a growing boy. He devoured almost the entire sandwich, while I could barely get down half of mine (the upside to this = leftovers)! I got a pickle as my side (sour, delicious and crunchy) and the boyfriend got chips. Everyone was happy all around. Wish one of these was local to me. This location doesnt have parking, but if you can walk or have it delivered its all good. The platters for large parties have always been good quality and maintained the taste. I placed a group order for 7 people at work today at 12:04pm from this location. We've group ordered from there a few times, and it's usually delivered in 30-45 minutes. At 1:09pm (1+hour after the order was confirmed) I called to ask for a status update and an ETA. The employee I spoke to was very nice, and told me they were running a bit behind because they only had one delivery guy today, but that their delivery person had just left on bike and should be here "any moment". At 1:55pm I called back again for another update, because the order had still not arrived. At this point, it was almost 2 hours. This time I got a different employee who was VERY rude. I kindly asked if I could get an update on the ETA. I never once complained about the wait or got angry or anything. I always make an effort to be overly nice with anyone in the service business, because I figure that they put up with a lot of rude people during their day. The employee responded that "It would be awhile" and asked if I wanted to cancel the order. I asked if he could give me an idea of how long the wait might be before I decide, because we were all hungry and didn't want to have to start a new order somewhere else. He kept replying that it would be awhile and I should cancel the order. I let him know that the last employee I talked to said the delivery guy had left with the order (almost an hour ago), and was on his way, so we were willing to wait if it wouldn't be too long. He then told me they hadn't even started making our order yet (after 2 hours!!). I asked him if I could confirm we were speaking about the correct order, since I was confused one employee said it was on its way, and another employee was more saying it wasn't even started. When I tried to give him the name for the order, he interrupted me and said, "we have called ID, I know who you are" in a very rude tone. He again asked me if I would like to cancel the order. I said, "ok, let's cancel, please"... and then he hung up on me. No response to confirm that he would cancel the order, or info on when/how the refund would go to my card, or an apology for the 2 hour wait with no food, or anything. I called back, at this point frustrated but still trying to be calm and polite, and said, "I'm sorry, I think we might have been disconnected. The last thing I said before the line went dead was that I would like to cancel the order. Can you confirm that it's been canceled?" He said, "yeah, it's canceled." And then again hung up. We instead ordered from Potbelly. I was disappointed that our order was not 'freaky fast' today, but more disappointed in the customer service. read more

It seems like there's a common theme on reviews for JJ, so I'm going to try to avoid a certain adjective in attempting to describe the promptness of service here. This place is the exact inverse of the average velocity a 3-toed sloth. In terms of haste, it is vastly differentiated from the amount of time it takes an elderly person to make a decision on which type of side to get with the baked fish at the local cafeteria. In the time it takes you to eat one delicious whole wheat "Billy Club" (#8), Jimmy will have prepared enough sandwiches to feed the country of Portugal for a fortnight. Why on earth would anyone eat here? The sandwiches are HORRIBLE. I've bought better sandwiches out of the Pepsi fridge at the gas station. The ingredients are hilariously lacking in flavor and the combo of both stale and under-baked bread makes for a mushy, mucky mess. I figured they'd be similar to Subway, but they somehow managed to be worse than subway. There are SO MANY really good delis in Pioneer Square, I don't understand why anyone who eat here. Pay heed to the fact that the good reviews on here only speak of being FAST and CHEAP. The food is gross. Really, really gross. Went here with my family yesterday (6/18) around 2:30 and the first thing we noticed was how rude the front end girl was. She seemed miserable and just wanted to get us out of the way. When we were done my dad told her to keep the change that he gave her and she put all of it in her apron. Good to see that there are employees at a restaurant that enjoy shorting their team members tips. She was lazy and just leaned against the register the whole time we were there but oh boy when the manager came in for an interview she was real nice and helping out!!! My goodness man, they can't get an order right!! I have to say my company and I have been ordering from here for over a year now (maybe 2) and no exaggeration, 95% of the time my order is wrong. WTH?! I seriously order the exact same sandwich every time I order yet, it is always wrong. Either, the condiments are missing, the sandwich is not cut in half (why have option if you aren't going to follow the directions?), they completely forgot the side thing (which is either chips or a cookie...which does cost like $2 friggin dollars), and now today, my sandwich is completely smashed up. I'm not sure why, but I continue to give a VERY generous tip (usually more than 25%) yet the service is horrible. This JJ location is no different than the rest, which is a good thing when discussing consistency. So fast they usually have the sandwich freshly made and wrapped up by the time I sign my cc receipt at the counter. It's pretty much my go-to for lunch when it's raining outside since a couple $$ in tip for the delivery guy/girl is well worth staying warm/dry! I usually go to the Jimmy John's on 1st right by Holgate. I would give them 5 stars, because their service is excellent and their quality is top notch. This store on 1st ave by Pioneer Square is awful. I was the only customer in the store, and the lady working the cash register was curt and acted like I was bothering her by being there. The young lad that made my sandwich was new, and was asking her what to put on my sandwich, and she was saying yes or no from across the kitchen. Long story short, my JJ Gargantuan sub never had any oil or vinegar added to it- dry as a bone. This store's employees are sorely lacking any sense of customer service. I hate Subway, so when I moved to Seattle I was terribly missing the Jimmy John's I used to frequent. But finally they have opened up several in Seattle. Don't get too excited they are subs after all, but the sandwiches are so much better than Subway and they deliver! Really they do! Their bread is what really makes these sandwiches better. It is really chewy and dense, so I don't feel like I am biting into dry styrofoam like I do at Subway. They have lots of toppings, roast beef, turkey, tuna, italian, veggie and they have guacamole and they use really cheese that actually tastes like cheese! Imagine that! I agree the music is way too loud. They can barely hear your order when you are talking and forget about having a conversation over your sandwich. But if you are looking for a sub, that is fast and delicious. This really is your best option. read more

Best tip: order online and have it delivered to you. Delivery is quick and ordering online is incredibly easy. Going into the storefront to get your sandwich is awful, especially if you go during lunch time. The lines are always to the door and there's usually only ever one register open.
