I got to try out their AYCE option. We got a round of Premium Wagyu Kobe beef, kurobuta, Premium black angus, New Zealand lamb shoulder, mussels and shrimps. Also got other hot pot toppings like fish balls, shrimp paste, mushroom, vegetables, and more!!! We came on a Sunday around 5:15pm, since it was still early for the dinner rush it wasn't busy which was nice. We got everything pretty quick. The decor is super cute, there was cat related items everywhere. They have a second floor but it's accessed from the outside around the corner. They have a more dog and ghibili themed there. They even play Ghibli movies!!!! What a treat to watch Ghibili movie and eat hot pot, its the coziest thing ever!

Super cute cat and dog themed shabu hotpot spot. Cat themed on ground floor and dog themed next door upstairs. AYCE all you can eat for 90 minutes. Friendly staff, fast service. I tried both of their Wagyu meat options and enjoyed both; but preferred the fattier cut. Their fresh watermelon juice was also delicious!

Talk about butter. One of a kind service and the food is elite! Please don't blow it up because this place is amazing!!!

Talk about incredible food and butter meat. An absolute gem of San Francisco. If you are reading this, don't blow it up but enjoy

We were looking for an AYCE hotpot spot for dinner and our friend, who was with us suggested to try Jin Pot Shabu House. He's never tried this place, but his friend has and liked it. Casual Japanese decor. ***OUR PICKS*** AYCE UNLIMITED SUPREME which includes Wagyu beef and seafood without drinks or raw egg yolks. 2 BROTHS: THAI TOM YUM & PORK BONE BROTH ~ between the two, tom yum was tasty and not as spicy as I had expected though we enjoyed the lemongrass flavor. Pork bone broth wasn't anything special, but it's good if you want a clean broth. PREMIUM WAGYU BEEF ~ good marbleization but so paper thin that it breaks apart before you can dunk it into the broth. We ordered this repeatedly since it really wasn't much meat. PREMIUM BLACK ANGUS ~ very lean and not much marbleization. The meat is so thin that you can see through it! Would not be able to tell if this was quality meat or not. VEGETABLE COMBO ~ broccoli, cabbage, spinach, squash, baby corn, bok choy. Everything was fine except for the baby corn, which was hard even after sitting in the broth. It was inedible. MUSHROOM MEDLEY ~ king mushrooms, black fungus, shiitake mushrooms SEAFOOD DELUXE ~ shrimp, fish fillet, mussels. Limited choices for everything. We ended up ordering the same things over and over again. It got boring. The one sauce given to us turned bland by the broth. Sadly, they don't have a self-serve sauce bar to make your own or even to switch it out during dinner. After a while, the sauce didn't taste like anything. The service was unfriendly and painfully accommodating. She never smiled at us. And after the meal, she asked if we wanted ice cream, we said okay, but she didn't say what kind of ice cream or even give us a choice. It was some vanilla ice cream with some kind of syrup and a powder on top. I can only assume it was black syrup (kuromitsu) with roasted soybean flour (kinako). Quality and variety was lacking. So many other AYCE spots in SF Bay Area that this pales in comparison.

My first time at Jin Pot and we got to dine in the Ghibli room! Our group was celebrating a wedding engagement. The dining room decor was so adorable, with Ghibli movies playing in the background. (Kiki's Delivery Service had just finished, and our host even asked us which movie we'd like to watch. We said Totoro, of course!) We all got the AYCE hotpot, which comes with unlimited meat, sides, seafood for about $50 per person. We ate a TON of meat so I think it was worth it in my opinion. I loved the ambiance while dining and it was such a conversation-friendly environment. Would definitely come back!

Went to Jin Pot for a birthday celebration because shabu AYCE and drink is efficient for group gatherings. We'd been here earlier in the year and liked the vibes and food. This time we booked a table in their upstairs dining area which is a separate entrance on the side of the building. We had a reservation for 9 but the table was setup for 8, so we just squeezed in an extra chair at the end of the table so we could fit. For this size group, we had 3 separate pots going. For our pot we got the sukiyaki and tom yum broth, both were really tasty. The quality of meat was as good as remembered and the side dish and appetizers were tasty. While we had a good time, I'd much prefer being in their main dining room versus the upstairs. One of our pots were forgotten so some people in the group started eating before us until we mentioned that the pot was missing. Ordering from the menu, we had time for about 3 rounds, although I thought the serving portions should've been bigger considering the size of the group. Either way, still a solid spot for shabu. Would come back with a smaller group. I think 2-4 is most ideal.

I wish I knew the price points before coming here; but definitely do a reservation! we got to our reservation at 5 and while it was empty when we got there, about 30 minutes later the place was packed and I heard the host say the wait would be an hour for walk-ins; which I thought was crazy even for a rainy Tuesday dinner. the interior is so cute! little cat decor and bottles of sake/soju everywhere made me feel like I was at my auntie's house. price point: we did unlimited supreme. my friend and I don't drink soda and mainly care about the meat; duh, but we didn't think we needed the ultimate package. $45 per person, and an extensive menu? count me in. I will say I didn't appreciate that we could only order 3 meats per round; I get it with reducing waste that way but with the wait time in between finishing the 3 trays in less than 5 minutes made us full. broth: we did thai tom yum and sukiyaki. my friend loves spicy, but after reading reviews on their take on the house special spicy mala I warned him to get something else. turns out, there was a table next to us that had to change out from that spicy mala broth because they couldn't handle it. and the thai tom yum was spicy enough without THAT kind of pain. I will say the tom yum was a bit saltier than I'm used to; you know when you just keep drinking your water and not realized your lips basically turned into raisins? that kind - but hey it was tasty! and the sukiyaki wasn't overly sweet which was a nice balance. and the table comes with a wine-bottle size of water - which was finished and even needed a refill/replacement during the meal. meats: my friend and I have an unspoken rule with hotpot - beef, beef, and more beef. pork and I aren't the best of friends, and he doesn't like pork anyway. so do yourself a favor and just order between the premium wagyu kobe beef (pic shows the nice marbling), and the premium black angus. we also did the premium lean wagyu kobe beef; but the lack of marbling made it more chewy - and why waste stomach-real-estate on that when you can just get the marbling type. if you do want to do ala carte, I believe between 2 people we did 3x3 rounds of meat; in case the AYCE price wasn't enticing enough. my friend tried the cilantro and wagyu dumplings - and they must have been good because every time I tried to fish one out he had already ate them. you snooze you lose I guess. my new rule with hotpot too is that I can only get 1-2 rounds of vegetables - classic spinach and nappa that cook fast and soak up the broth nicely. I also opt for some type of noodle instead of getting rice - it's not as filling in my opinion + it soaks all the broth goodness better than making half-ass congee with rice. I did one order of the fresh ramen noodles and it went nicely with the broth. my friend tried the housemade meatballs (tsumire) as well (he did a few orders of this - I don't think he LOVED them per se, but again this was something I didn't get to try as they were gone before I could try to hunt for them); this comes in a bamboo slider to portion out how big you want the tsumire to come out. also, you get a tiny side dish of chopped garlic and cilantro plus a pre-made dipping sauce - no sauce bar. the sauce is already pretty garlicky - with cilantro and a ponzu-style taste. my friend and I asked for extras of the garlic and cilantro to put into the sauce - as well as more sauce. between 2 people it came to $98 before tip - and it comes with ice cream! so it's vanilla ice cream with a subtly sweet caramel/butterscotch like syrup on top with kinako (soybean) powder on top. the kinako acts like a graham cracker-ish topping which balances it nicely :) I even went as far as tallied up the ala carte price for what we ordered - which would have been $239 before tip. the meat portions were big, and I think ordering 2-3 rounds of meat alone gets your money's worth for the AYCE price. will definitely be back - and this time we'll be more prepared too.

Great hot pot spot in the Richmond with an amazing AYCE deal! Came with a group on a weeknight and was sat right away. The food options and broth options are great and the ultimate option includes drinks! Will definitely be back again.

Jin Pot is one of my favorite Shabu spots in SF. They have both AYCE & a la carte options. The meat quality is 10/10 and def worth AYCE. I'm a huge fan of their sukiyaki. We were seated for the first time in their upstairs space and it's so cute. They have a tv playing with movies. Parking: street parking. Can be difficult since it's on a major street. We came here to celebrate our engagement and will be back soon!

Love ordering from Jin pot, it's always our #1 choice for take out when we want shabu at home for our get togethers and family meals. It is definitely a trip out but worth it for us! The meats always taste good, soup is on point, staff are friendly. We dined in once or twice before and the staff was always very attentive. I love all the lucky cat decor everywhere, I'm sorta obsessed with lucky cats too . Would def recommend Jin pot to all our friends and family!

I discovered this place two years ago. This place is my go to whenever I want something spicy and warm that hits the spot. I also get the Mala because it's not that spicy and makes things veggies and ramen more enjoyable. I always get the AYCE option since I enjoy the appetizers and having options especially the vegetables. The workers here are very friendly and attentive but please be aware that sometimes they are understaffed so be patient. I love coming here because of the TV's and the music. I love listening to music while eating and it becomes an enjoyable experience when you come with friends. I always find myself coming back and would definitely recommend.

Came here on a Saturday during lunch time. We didn't have to wait and were immediately seated. They have a lot of cat decoration inside the store. You have the option to do ayce or a la carte, and they also have lunch sets, which is surprising for a weekend. All meat sets are the same price and come with some assorted vegetables. Since we were a group of two, we got a split pot for our broths. We got the sukiyaki and tom yum flavors. I'm not sure what happened, but our tom yum broth was kind of watery and not really flavorful. (A friend had highly recommended it, so I assume the ratios were just off that day). The vegetables and meat looked very fresh. You also have the option of getting noodles or rice. I would definitely recommend the lunch set because the price was worth it for the amount of food you get. There's only street parking available, but we got lucky and found a spot really quickly. Would definitely come back here!

Amazing! The best AYCE meat I've had. Service is always helpful, friendly and in a good mood. The restaurant itself is cat decorated, with pictures and little things all around, great for photos. Super recommend their Golden Kimchi and Strawberry Soju. Do reservations! They are popular and, especially on weekends, you might not be able to get a table at peak hours. They have opened a second floor on the weekends where you can watch some movies while eating. I will have to come back and give it a go! But if you want that, mention it in your reservation. Extra: They have a delicious ice cream for dessert (part of AYCE), don't miss on it!

Gretted when we entered, we slid into one the few open tables. The decor was charming, and we were quickly gretted by our server with menus and water. My sister and I split some appetizer items so we could try various items, and every single dish was a taste sensation. The gyoza was crisp on the outside while packed with a savory meat, drizzled with sauce. The Karaage was tender chicken encased in a light fried pankostyle casing, also drizzled with a sauce, and the flavor, each bite was satisfying without being too filling. The Kabocha Kor, were panko fried pumpkin patties with a tonkatsu style sauce that brought the taste buds to a more earthier place . The Tokoyaki, were tender fried octopus balls in a sauce that I would have been happy to hunker down with a large bowl of and just crush, easily my favorite bite, which is saying something as no bute was bad . We closed with an order of Hotate, which was a grilled scallop skewer. Somewhere between sea and bay scallops in size, they were an awesome cap to the dining experience. With a this, I washed it down with a peach-weizen beer which was the perfect accompaniment to the meal. Every dish was fantastic in flavor, sauces, and texture. On top of all this, the service was excellent, and the happy hour prices very much in reason.

We started off with the Mekyabetsu (Brussels sprouts), Ba-Ra (pork belly), and Kobe (beef). The Brussels sprouts were my fav starter, and the sauce paired so well with it. The Ba-Ra was pretty good, but nothing amazing, and same for the Kobe, which I found to be a bit bland. We also split the Hokkaido Miso ramen. The broth had a great flavor, and the pork chashu was possibly the best I've ever had(!) as it was soooo tender and flavorful, and not very fatty. I did think the cauliflower left room to be desired, and kinda took away from the ramen overall. We finished our meal off with the matcha Panna cotta - this was a great dessert and wasn't too sweet ;) This place definitely seems to be pretty good at a lot of dishes, but not amazing at any single one. The vibe is great, service was great, and prices are a biiiiti steep but not unreasonable.

They have a simple menu that has a selection of small bites, yakitori, and other dishes to enjoy and you basically circle the ones you want and hand it back. The center literally was a bar and I could tell it was meant as a nighttime eatery. Their menu is composed pretty much of some izakaya type items and yakitori. I ordered only yakitori. The skewers were a bit pricey- 5-9$ each. But the quality was really good. Chicken heart and thigh were ultra juicy. Beef tongue was so soft and tender. Meat ball was ultra soft. Loved everything- no misses. Really surprised me. I highly recommend folks stop by for the skewers. Other than price I have no gripes at all! Just be prepared for the wait- with an empty restauraunt I waited 30 minutes.

FOOD: 8/10 Every roll I've ordered has been good. I love getting their nigiri or sashimi combo and enoki mushroom skewers. I believe the nigiri combo with spicy tuna roll is only for takeout orders. SERVICE: 10/10 The staff is always kind, attentive, and welcoming. I appreciate how, for the most part, service is always quick here as well. AMBIANCE: 9/10 The atmosphere is cozy, calm, and inviting. It has that relaxed neighborhood feel that makes it easy to settle in and enjoy your meal without feeling rushed. It's perfect for a casual dinner or even a low-key solo meal. My only small note is that I wish the tables were slightly bigger, especially for a table for two. Overall, I absolutely love dining here or even grabbing it to go. Shokudou is one of those places I'll keep coming back to whenever I want comforting Japanese food done reliably well.

Inside it's a cute and intimate restaurant with a long bar and a few tables. I've been coming to this place over the years and looks like they recently expanded by taking over the next door. Now you can enter to an expanded area through a wall that didn't exist previously to another two bar areas. This place is probably best for date nights and couples rather than large parties. Good variety of izakaya choices including chicken thighs, chicken parts, pork belly, scallops, and some beef options. I found the izakaya solid but not outstanding. The skewers are a little too saucy for my taste which I prefer more the traditional simple salt which you find in Japan. Also, I wish they had more charcoal flavor to the izakayas. On the other hand, I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken skin gyoza which uses chicken skin as wrappers. It's an interesting twist to your traditional gyozas. The fried oysters were good, juicy, and crunchy. They also have a very good selection of sakes and drinks.
