Finally the food. The Caesar salad was extra fishy- it even came with whole anchovies on top! It was not my favorite since I prefer a more subtle anchovies taste in the dressing. The prosciutto and burrata were tasty and refreshing. Their rosemary(?) bread was fluffy and flavorful. The green fettuccine was rich in flavor and very filling. The star of the night for me was their Vodka pasta dish with prosciutto. They said it was a special, so I'm not sure how often they have it. All I can say is I was blown away by how rich the sauce was. The pasta is their biggest selling point- nice, Al dente, and fresh! For the desserts we tried the tiramisu and panna cotta. The tiramisu was nice and light. I personally wish there was more mascarpone, but I am a mascarpone fiend so I'm sure most people would consider it enough! The staff were kind enough to give us a complimentary panna cotta for our anniversary dinner. It was refreshing and subtle. I have never had panna cotta before, so I don't have a reference to which I can compare it. Overall 5/5. I won't sugar coat it. Yes the prices can feel high, but the context is you're right next to the beach, so it's understandable. (I always note the price tag for restaurants because I myself have to plan/save for nicer dinners. I included the bill for reference.) Keep that in mind when you are choosing to dine here. I will say though, I avoid beach side restaurants because they are usually over priced and mid tier. The waiters were very attentive, constantly hovering- but I presume it is because we had an early dinner. Would recommend a later dinner 7-8, for peak atmosphere. The raviloi was divine, the filling, a mixture of both filled mignon and spinach, was so unexpected but sooo delicious. I would ask to be seated outside on the balcony, so you get the full experience.

I was in pizza heaven! This is the best thin crust pizza i've had! For whatever reason, on my first few visits to Johnnies, I thought their pizza was very good but lacking something. Since writing my original review, I have started craving their pizza, and now I can say emphatically that it is quite probably my favorite non-deep-dish pizza anywhere. I am not sure why it took a few visits to completely win me over, but I am glad it has. This is probably if not the best pizza experience I've ever had in my life. We started off with their recommendation and it was so amazing and delicious. It's the first time I had it and my taste buds were quite happy. Worst pizza ever. We have ordered pizza from them 5-6 times now. This order is the first order the pizza actually arrived warm. Normally the pizzas come less than lukewarm. I have complained over and over and even told them I am ordering across the street please deliver me a hot pizza. Ask, I would say 4 of the 6 times the pizza is never cold all the way. Today is my last straw with them. My pizza did arrive warm but it's not cooked all the way. The dough is still sticky and not cooked. The worst of all is the garlic knots. The first one I had wasn't bad, the second was completely raw and made me sick to my stomach instantly. Let's just say it hasn't been a good evening. At the Venice location, be clear that Johnnie's counter person will determine exactly what you can eat from their menu. THERE ARE NO SUBSTITUTIONS like garlic knots for the salad. They would rather see you walk out than make a substitution to their lunch combo, which is what I did. BTW, the corporate website is EXTREMELY UNFRIENDLY to both smartphone reviews and PC Reviews and uses" I am Not a Robot Captcha," to further discourage feedback, which says that the owners really don't want to know what is going on at the store level. They have closed stores on Santa Monica Blvd.in West LA, Olympic Blvd in West LA., and the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica. Stopped here for a few pizzas and was left speechless... I have extremely high standards when it comes down to PIZZA! Being a frequent traveler, me and my family used to travel and the attraction we always look forward to are culinary experiences. The best pizzas I have tasted were always CHICAGO STYLE or NEW YORK STYLE. Johnnies NY Pizza obviously originates from New York and it delivers! This New York pizza joint needs more mouths coming in and out to do it justice. Anyone who lives in LA area who is craving the New York style pizzas, come here!! We've ordered home delivery 5 times now from the Johnnies on Abbott Kinney. 4 times they have gotten the salad wrong and the pizza we ordered has not been correct 4 out of the 5 times. Last night we ordered the Johnnies Comb (as always) and received a pepperoni and sliced onion pizza with minimal sauce, plus it was cold when we received it! The salad had a funny taste to it. Both my husband and I woke up in the middle of the night and could not get back to sleep. Last try. We won't be doing any more business with this establishment. I would eat here breakfast lunch and dinner if I could! Hands down best pizza in Los Angeles in my opinion. So many flavours and toppings to choose from that it makes it hard but always so worth it in the end !! I love their Hawaiian and pepperoni, but then again I love all their flavours! If you want a good, East-Coast style pie, Johnnie's is a great stop. This is decent, straightforward, delivery pizza that is super tasty and thin crust. It's one of those pizzas that is exactly what I'm looking for when I think of the pizza I grew up with in Connecticut, which isn't very easy to find in California. It get knocked for being a late night location, but that's what pizza is supposed to be a slice of pizza on the East Coast is what you could eat anytime of day and always count on it being quality snack that fit the budget. They have great fresh pizza in the window ready to go five dollars a slice regardless of what you get. I walk 2 miles past 10 other pizza shops to get to this one and I'm from East Coast where a good slice of pizza is King.

But this pizza here is REALLY GOOD! It's chewy, crispy, flavorful, and well balanced. Not too much or too little of anything. My favorite so far is the Veggie or supreme. If there is something I can't stand is nickle and diming. Most places you have to ask for triple the toppings to see any veggies on your pizza. And the veggies here are always fresh. My favorite part is the seasoning on top of their pizzas. It's like the cherry on top! This place delivers quality, taste, and fabulous customer service. I have now ordered at least 4 times. I wanted to make sure they were consistent before I reviewed. 3 times I got delivery through their site, and every time my pizza was delivered hot, fresh and on time. How did I not know about this place!!? Best part is it's located next to the beach. No more trying to figure out where to grab a bite. Place looks good too, but I know most people will take it to go.

And honestly, $5 for a bacon, egg + cheese on the Westside is hard to beat. Best deal I've seen! It's made on pizza dough roll so if you love pizza crust - you'll love it. Great for a quick & inexpensive breakfast! They also have Coca-Cola in glass bottles, which is always a go-to! I stayed for a slice of pizza too and ordered the sausage + pepper with a side of their special Sunday sauce. The pizza was so good and the Sunday sauce was definitely worth getting on the side. It's their take on marinara and it's bomb. You can tell there's a lot of thought going into keeping this a neighborhood spot while giving it a fresh take on the BEC.
