2 rocket doubles fries and a vanilla shake
Ahmad W.

I wanted the food from this restaurant. I was watching the football game and I didn't feel like driving. I ordered food through Uber eats for the first time ever. The service is wonderful. The food is delicious. I ordered 2 rocket singles and made them both doubles with a order of fries and a vanilla shake and I made it a malt shake. I grew up on malt milkshakes in Savanah Georgia. First time eating here delicious food.

This Johnny Rockets location at Phipps Plaza in Atlanta is a great place to go for for delicious burgers, shakes, and much more. I really like the location and being able to get Johnny Rockets while shopping. The staff here is very friendly and efficient at getting everything together for you.

My burger? To die for! Instead of a bun, I went for the sourdough bread for my spicy jalapenos burger. And boy, was it spicy. Just the way I like it. My sis had a burger with mushroom, and was looking as satisfied.

Absolutely love eating here every once in a blue moon. The nostalgia in this oldies diners are like nothing else! The food here is pretty good too but not too many healthy options other than salad or chicken though. Burger and fries were very tasty and fresh. The milkshake was fantastic!Definitely worth going if you have never been! You will feel like you are back in time or Back to the Future!

If I could give this local favorite of six star review I would…read more Kevin, the owner and Mastermind behind the delicious array of flavors in all of their menu items. And house specials, is friendly and engaging. He makes the rounds and talks to the customers, makes them feel like home. All the staff seem to work together well and a very jovial. I sat at the counter cuz I was flying solo and had nice conversations with those next to me. The way the entire building is decorated is completely eye candy and as satisfying as the food. If you like crazy loopy, different kind of stuff. There's a specific coffee shop and small gift shop in the back with social & environmental conscious products. Even have a film development drop off that I guess locals take advantage of cuz where do you go for that anymore other than some kind of chain pharmacy?. I took pictures for my posting but also for myself to consider coming back and shopping another time. Several of the magnets and signs I would love to own. The food is plentiful and flavorful. I had the daily special of Georgia fresh shrimp sauteed on top of homemade sourdough that had a little bit of a French toast crispy to it, topped with roasted tomatoes and spinach and thin crispy onions that were well seasoned. Most the time for lunch you just hope for something that taste good and this was beyond my wildest dreams of what I was going to eat for lunch today. And it was only $10. The burgers, the fried chicken, the fried shrimp, everything was looking so yummy. I totally have to come back. The place is much bigger than it looks from the front because it extends around the corner behind the counter and they greet you when you come in.

We came in on a Friday morning and were quickly seated. The restaurant is quirky and the walls are covered in local art for purchase. The biscuits were pillowy soft and buttery. The potatoes were well seasoned. The pancake, or "table cake" as our waitress referred to it, was twice the size of my face and delicious! I honestly think one meal can be split between two with how larger the portions are. I would definitely recommend if you are in the area!

I…read morehave been on weekends and of course its bustling but this time I went on a Monday morning and it was so calm! Easy to get a table and enjoy some homestyle food in peace. We got seated and got some classic diner coffee to start. For the meal, I got the bacon egg and cheese biscuit and shared the skillet french toast with the table. This is truly no frills which is why I love it. Great breakfast and 4 us of ate for $60 which felt like a great deal. I really am glad I came back and will be coming more often because I forgot how much I enjoyed it!

Some restaurants are trendy…read more Some restaurants are modern. And some restaurants take one look at changing food trends and say, "Nah, we're good." The Silver Skillet in Atlanta falls firmly into that last category. This place is an old-school Southern diner in all the best ways possible. The kind of place where the coffee keeps flowing, the biscuits arrive without apology, and calories are treated more like suggestions than rules. In fact, we took an early morning flight to Atlanta specifically to make sure we'd get there before they close at 2:00 PM. That's either a testament to how much we enjoy The Silver Skillet or evidence that we need a support group for Southern breakfast food. I'm leaning toward both. It's also been featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, which usually gets my attention. But unlike some places that become famous and start coasting on reputation, The Silver Skillet still earns its following the old-fashioned way: by serving really good food. And judging by the walls and the stories, I'm not the only one who thinks so. Over the years, celebrities ranging from Samuel L. Jackson to Charles Barkley and Travis Tritt have eaten here. After this visit, I completely understand why. Whenever I'm in Atlanta, this place has become one of my regular stops. On this visit, my wife ordered the country fried steak smothered in white gravy with eggs and a biscuit. It was exactly what you want Southern comfort food to be: hearty, flavorful, satisfying, and unapologetically indulgent. Nobody orders country fried steak looking for a wellness retreat. I went with their signature country ham served with red gravy, scrambled eggs, and biscuits. Now, if you've never had country ham, understand that this isn't your average breakfast ham. Country ham shows up with attitude. Salty, rich, packed with flavor, and perfectly balanced by the red gravy. Combined with the eggs and biscuits, it was the kind of breakfast that makes you seriously consider canceling the rest of your plans and taking a nap. The atmosphere is part of the charm. It feels authentic because it is authentic. No manufactured nostalgia. No corporate designer trying to recreate a 1950s diner from a Pinterest board. This is the real thing. The Silver Skillet has survived because it knows exactly what it is and executes it well. Solid food. Friendly service. A classic Atlanta institution. And a place that's earned every bit of its reputation. Four stars. When you're willing to schedule a flight around a restaurant's closing time, that's about as strong an endorsement as a breakfast spot can get.
