I'm going to preface this review by saying that I haven't had much Filipino food before coming here, so I don't really know what the standard is. I was brought here by a friend's recommendation. This particular location has a pared-down menu from what is listed online. There's no palabok, which is unfortunate because that's what I had wanted to try. Instead, I ordered the chickenjoy with mashed potatoes. I'm not typically a huge fried chicken person, particularly on the bone, but I ordered it based on my friend's recommendation. It was delicious - I like this fried chicken better than any I'd had other fried chicken chains. My friend had gotten the Jolly Spaghetti, which she wasn't sure I'd like because I'm used to Italian spaghetti, but she let me taste hers and I really liked it too! It's different than the spaghetti I'd had in the past, but I think I would actually get this the next time I go. My only real complaint is how crowded it was, there was definitely not enough seating in the restaurant, and there ended up being some hostility as people were trying to get tables - it was incredibly inconvenient as someone who was looking to dine in, and I have a feeling most people who come here are looking to dine it. read more

I came in here a few weeks ago to get lunch to go so I could bring it to my volunteer assignment location. I was originally only going to order the sandwich but my order taker upped the order to the meal. Fine. Whatever. I noticed this place was gaining popularity on Social Media. The food posted on there and in reviews also looked very good. I was happy to see that there was a location nearby my job and I decided to take a walk there during lunch. As expected, during lunch, there was a bit of a line there, which didn't seem to move as fast as I expected. But, I did notice many customer asking a lot of questions, which is understandable since this chain is fairly new to NYC and offers some unusual combinations...I mean what other place do you know of that sells Fried Chicken and Spaghetti?! There is adequate waiting room in the front area as well as some seating in the rear. After placing my order, I only had to wait about 3-4 minutes until my number was called. Though I only tried the Chicken Sandwich, it was really good. I would place it above, Popeye's, Chick-Fil-A's and KFC's new Sandwiches...though the new Burger King Ch'King is, in my opinion, the best of the bunch and is on par with Jollibee. Heard a lot about Jollibee so I wanted to check it out for myself. Had to wait 20 minutes for my order (chicken sandwich with fries). The dining area was very cramped with little to no seating. What seating was there was occupied by people who weren't even eating anything or appeared to had ordered anything. Food was very bland and not worth the wait. My favourite part about coming here is ordering a 6 piece chicken and a family sized spaghetti (to go), and them giving me four sets of utensils, as if four people will be eating this, lol. If only Jollibee were closer to me, I wouldn't have to hoard my food like this! Everytime I'm here, the place is always clean and the staff is super friendly and inviting. Craving chicken and was commanded to choose Jollibee over all other choices available. Hadn't had them since the height of the pandemic so we braved the heat and hiked over to pick up some Chickenjoy since they shut down delivery on Doordash. Once I arrived I understood why. They had signs and announcements highlighting delays and waits due to staff shortages. They could lay out the lines better but otherwise I could appreciate the staff's efforts to deal with the customers. Foodwise, it's as expected. Gravy goes well with everything and they get props for understanding that dark meat is the best meat. I'd choose this over the nearby Popeyes any day. read more

JOLLIBEE IS DELICIOUS. I always get the Chickenjoy w/spaghetti combo. The cashier told me their favorite is the spicy chicken and that's what I've been getting. It has a nice kick to it and super crispy. Their spaghetti is sort of sweet. Their pineapple juice is delicious and it isn't as sweet. Their peach mango pie is SO GOOD. It's extremely crispy on the outside and delicious filling on the inside. Lining up for food usually takes longer than receiving your order. Employees here are typically very pleasant. In terms of this location, the only turn-offs of this place are the very limited seating and the limited bathrooms (ONLY 1, so the bathroom line is actually longer than the line-up for food sometimes). read more

Jollibee was on my must go to food joints when I was in NYC. I made sure to check it out. This location is located in Manhattan not too far from Times Square. It's more roomier than I thought. I just got 6 pieces of chicken to try out and had to try the halo halo dessert. I'm obsessed with ube. The chicken is just dark meat but for white meat upgrade, I got two pieces of breasts. Chicken came with gravy. I thought that was interesting and strange. The meat is so tender and juicy!! And crispy! I was impressed. As good as it is anywhere else. Same old chicken. Same old spaghetti. Same old Jollibee goodness! I finally visited with a few friends, after all of the chaos died down from its opening in October, and it was still crowded. I'm not a huge fast food person, but can always use a cheat meal every once in a while and there's no better way to spend that cheat meal than at Jollibee. This location is smack dab in the middle of "chaos USA", 1 block south of the Port Authority. Getting here can be a huge hassle if you hate crowds, but the trek is well worth it after you get your work out in dodging New Yorkers. The location isn't huge, but it's a decent size. The restaurant is built like a train car. There are 2 tables in the front and just counter seating, then the waiting area is next to the cash registers, followed by more traditional dining arrangements towards the back past the beverage area. The dining area is basically one straight line with not a lot of wiggle room to the left or right. However, the bigger issue here is where the cash registers are located. There tends to be consistent overcrowding by the entrance, so the line tends to constantly reach the doors and snake around the front of the restaurant, which makes it difficult for customers to come and go. Unlike the Jollibee in Queens, the menu is a bit limited. You have your selection of various fried chicken meals (aka Chicken Joy), Jolly Spaghetti, Chicken Sandwich, desserts and sides. The meals can be a bit pricy considering the serving size, but you'll know where every penny went when you bite into the fried chicken. Since we were starving (that's always our excuse), my wife and I did not hold back what so ever. We ordered 2 Tuna pies, which were on a limited run, shared a 6 piece bucket of Chickenjoy and order of Jolly Spaghetti, ordered 2 Peach Mango Pies and a Halo Halo Sundae to wash it all down. Whewww. First, the Tuna pies. It was our 1st time ever trying it at any Jollibee and it was surprisingly good. If anything, it was sort of like a hand held chicken pot pie, but with tuna. I didn't even taste the tuna, but it was still good, mostly because I love pot pies. The Jolly Spaghetti was next and it was as good as ever. A little bit of salty and sweet mixed in with hot dogs and spaghetti. What's not to like about that? Next up, the main event, the Chickenjoy. I am a self-proclaimed major fan of Popeye's, but DAMN the Chickenjoy is right up there with the best of them. Before this trip, I had not been to a Jollibee in quite some time and all of my brain cells starting firing after that first bite of chicken. The skin was extra crispy and crunchy and the meat was juicy and succulent. Oh, and did I forget that they include a container of gravy with each order? It's not enough that the chicken is freaking awesome, but they throw in some gravy for good measure just in case you weren't already hooked. It reminds me of the Chris Rock "Cracky Kreme" joke because it's that damn good. Quite frankly, it's the perfect fried chicken. No need to look further. Lastly, we had the Peach Mango pie and Halo Halo Sundae for dessert. The Peach Mango Pie is Jollibee's version of the McDonald's Apple Pie, but obviously with warm peach mango. If it weren't for the contents inside, I wouldn't even be able to tell the difference. Bottom line, get it. And finally, the Halo Halo Sundae. I loved the sundae vanilla ice cream, but I wish they would have put more toppings on it. There was some jelly, beans and a very, very tiny piece of ube cake. I absolutely felt ripped off on the lack of toppings. Within a few bites I had finished all of the toppings, but there was plenty of ice cream left. Like I said, the ice cream was good and flavorful, but if they would have included more ube, I would have approved of it. Overcrowding was definitely an issue during the time we went right after work at 6pm. We were fortunate to grab a table right away and tables tend to turn over quickly, but there can still be a wait. My word of advice is to not come with that many people. Keep it to a small party. Also, it seems the restaurant is grossly understaffed. The female at the cash register was working both available cash registers at once! I had actually never seen someone take an order while ringing another person up for 2 hours straight. That was one reason why the line was so long that evening, but it died down every once in a while before blowing back up. Her spirits were good though despite the chaos. If there is ever a study to prove whether fast food is a drug, Jollibee will resoundingly prove the theory right. read more

I came here with a few friends to try my very first Jollibee experience. The service was the best you can expect from a fast food restaurant. Staff were friendly and offered to help dispose of trash. While we were eating they were also diligently cleaning the floors. The chicken was delicious, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and great with and without the gravy, pineapple drink was refreshing and sweet, and the buttered corn was great as well. We decided to try Jollibee out, as neither of us has had it in the States! I was surprised to see the line be so short, although maybe it was because it was a Tuesday at 9:45AM and the hype may have died down. So we had some quick service! We ended up ordering the adobo rice and pan de sal with butter. The adobo rice was quite savory! It didn't look like it had a lot of meat in the rice, but by looking at the brown tinge of the rice, you could tell it was lathered in adobo flavor. Very delicious! The pan de sal was so soft and the butter tasted just like I imagined honey butter would taste like! We loved it so much, we came back the same day around 5PM! Even at 5PM, there were only a few customers ahead of us, so I am glad the line was still short even at dinner time! The chicken joy tasted just like regular fried chicken except a bit more fried than other places'. Nevertheless, everything was so delicious! The main purpose of my trip to NYC was to get Jollibee and I can honestly say it was very worth the trip!!! Before I go into details, I want to say that this is hands down my favorite fried chicken now..... compared to KFC and Popeyes. My friend and I came by on a Sunday evening and there was a line, but a short one compared to what I have seen. We ordered the spaghetti combo with pineapple juice, peach mango pie, and of course a bucket of fried chicken! THE FRIED CHICKEN IS SO GOOD, ESPECIALLY WITH THE GRAVY. I've never had anything like this. The chicken was very flavorful and very crispy, but not crazy-batter-crispy. The gravy on it completely changes everything. I am honestly not sure if this is how you eat it, but I am in love. The french fries were okay.... not the best. The spaghetti was very good and people definitely raved about this. I guess I wasn't too surprised with the flavor because I am used to eating spaghetti like this with sausages. I actually prefer the spaghetti I eat at home since we grill the sausages, but nonetheless VERY GOOD! The peach mango pie was refreshing to eat and love the pastry crust. Jollibee is more expensive than I thought, but also better than I thought, so do with that what you will. Surprisingly, the staff was super nice- which is rare for a fast food joint, but the person taking our order was super helpful and friendly. The fried chicken is really, really good. It was insanely tender (to the point of being sus??) but also super juicy, so I highly recommend it. We got adobo rice with it, which was also good! We didn't finish it because we had already eaten and just wanted to try Jollibee, but we ate it with tomatoes and eggs later on. Unfortunately, this location does not make halo halo, which was disappointing but it wasn't an issue. Always loved the food even if Jollibee is a fast-food chain restaurant. I've been to locations in the Philippines, Dubai, New York and New Jersey. Across the board, the food is consistent. Chicken is always very crispy without ever being burnt and the gravy is PERFECT. It's so good that if they sold the gravy by itself, I'd probably buy it to have with other food. The line was long when I came in, but it moved pretty quickly. I noticed there was limited seating, but everyone seemed to find a table within a decent amount of time. This location is not one of my favorite in terms of staff. When it was my turn to order, the cashier took my order but then mocked the way I talked, which was very unprofessional. I decided to just let it go because I was in a rush and just wanted get my food and go. Whenever I order take-out, I always check to make sure everything is there because the last thing I want to do is have to come back for missing stuff. Jollibee! I've heard it's name many times and have read articles when it first arrived in NYC years ago. It isn't until recently that I was able to try it and boy was it worth it. Upon entering, I am greeted with the mascot off to the left and smiles from the workers behind the counter. It looks like almost all the workers were Asian, Filipino I'd imagine as this is a Filipino chain. For food, I tried their fried chicken with adobo rice, spaghetti, and a pineapple soda. Chicken - The Star of the show! Thin batter, delicately spiced rub/marinade, and super succulent meat. For my meal I only had drumsticks and thighs so I'm not sure if they sell breast or wing pieces. Rice- Definitely go for this over the white rice! The rice is nice and fluffy, infused with bits of pork and a savory taste of adobo all mixed in. Spaghetti - For me this might be the only let down as I've heard about their pasta quite a lot as well. However, it taste just like boxed pasta with a pretty sweet pasta sauce and sliced hot dogs. The food was good but the table service was awful. When I was waiting for the food, my girlfriend asked if she could get a table and the lady who was organizing the seating, but the lady said nobody can sit at a table until they have food. Well once we got our food, we found ourselves waiting to sit at a table when we could see multiple groups of people sitting at tables without any food yet. We complained to The same lady, reminding her she told us we cannot sit without food, meanwhile there are plenty of people sitting down without food and we are here just holding the food waiting. Wow, I feel so ignorant. I didn't know Jollibee was Filipino fast food chain. I thought it was like a KFC or Popeyes so I put off trying it out when it opened in midtown recently. After reading some reviews, I decided to try the halo halo sundae, peach mango pie, spaghetti, and of course the fried chicken. I visit pretty early, prior to 6pm, but the place was pretty full. They ran out of spicy chicken and was told there's a 13 minute wait. I decided to get my chicken quicker and got regular. Turns out it took so long to process my order that I was able to change it to spicy with the same amount of wait time. They are very thorough checking the orders which led to slow processing of orders. My halo halo was melted when I got it. :( Of the items tried, the halo halo was my least favorite. It was literally just very sweet/sugary vanilla ice cream with some unique toppings. The spaghetti was nothing special. The Peach Mango pie was very good. Maybe because it tasted so fresh and flaky like it was just baked. The peach mango filling was also very tasty without being overly sweet. Then there's the chicken. The spicy and a good kick to it. There's a reason why Jollibee has such fanfare- the food is amazing! My friend ordered us a 3 piece chicken joy set and it was so good. While I didn't find the seasoning of the chicken mind blowing, I did love how each piece of chicken was perfectly fried and the meat was not dry at all. However, dipping the chicken in the gravy is a total game changer and takes the chicken from good to fantastic. I'm not used to Filipino spaghetti so it was definitely interesting. My palate was surprised at the sweetness of the sauce, but it was also really savory at the same time. The peach mango pie was amazing and I'm still thinking about it. It's like a McDonald's apple pie, but waaaay better. The medley of the peach and mango go well, and the pie is deep fried so you get a nice crisp when you bite into it. Staff is also super friendly and helpful. Minus one star because the seating situation is so limited. People left their trays at the table without cleaning up. The lady was busy talking and didn't do her job. Some of the customers have to tell her about the trays leaving on the table. The restroom's sink was not working. There was no water at the sink but there was a super long line for restroom. It was NYE night so the service was very pushing up also. read more
