Spent a nice Sunday here in the outside patio at Julienne's in San Marino. It's an interesting set-up 1. Can order hit it cold food inside, but only after you secure a table. 2. No signup sheet or reservations - you just need to be patient and scope out who you think might leave next. 3. After that we went inside ordered and got a number. 4. Our food was brought to us. We devoured the gruyère cheese sandwich on pumpernickel, it comes with a side salad. Also ordered a breakfast burrito it was ok. We ordered two lunch special sets: Tried a half tuna sandwich, side fruit, bag chips, and ice tea. Tried smoked salmon, side salad, chip and coffee.

Ten years ago, they were a sit down restaurant but have since transitioned to a "order and grab a table number" system. They now only offer outdoor patio seating. Came for brunch one chilly morning and the huge heat lamps kept me pretty toasty. Ordered the green omelette and was expecting some green eggs and ham type dish but it was essentially a broccoli taco. Not bad, but it was alot of broccoli. Food is overall pretty good and they have a pretty unique menu too. I would come back but probably only on the weekdays as I can see it getting pretty crowded during the weekends.

Delicious food with a variety of options. Ready made food items and bakery items for sale To Go. Only outdoor seating but heaters are on covered area of the patio. A great place for breakfast and lunch.

I went to Julienne for breakfast after a night shift and it was such a lovely way to start the morning. The space is cute and cozy, and they have an adorable little store attached with Christmasy trinkets and pastries I would love to try next time. They have patio seating with very strong (maybe too strong) overhead space heaters but it was nice to have that option. The staff were kind and welcoming which I really appreciated after a long night. I tried the popular open face smoked salmon sandwich and the breakfast burrito which were both pretty well fresh, clean, and well made. Julienne is just adorable. A peaceful easy breakfast spot, and one I'd happily return to again. I'll definitely be back.

My in-laws & I enjoyed our lunch and my sister in law found her her painting. We had the tuna sandwich and quiche.

Julienne is an opulent local cafe and pastry shop tucked in one of the prettiest neighborhoods in LA County. And one of the oldest cafe business in the area. This cute little cafe has small outdoor patio, with a French setting. Thus, a very popular breakfast spot for locals. They serve coffee, tea, pastries, salads and American-Mexican breakfast items. I have drove pass by this cafe for years on weekends but always find it too busy or have a long wait. So we decided to go on a weekday. We came on cool Monday morning; we grabbed a table first before placing an order at the counter inside. We had a coffee, croissant and berry waffles. All three taste good, just the way I liked it. Food presentation was beautiful. Staff were very affable and competent. Service was brilliantly spot on. Prices were higher than most cafe shop/restaurant. Overall, I enjoyed my breakfast. I'd recommend you try this French cafe.

I'm really disappointed with my experience at Julienne Restaurant. I decided to come back because I used to love this place years ago, but it's clearly not the same anymore. The food quality was unacceptable -- there was a bug in the dressing, which is a serious health concern. The chicken salad was watered down and dry at the same time, and honestly tasted like cafeteria food. It felt nothing like the quality I remember from the good old days. Service was just as bad. No water was offered, staff seemed uninterested, and they never once came to check if we were okay. Overall, it felt like they didn't care. I was about to purchase the food and asked nicely if they could heat it up (since it's from the same restaurant), but they refused, saying "because of health concern" -- which is ironic considering there was a bug in the dressing. The supervisor, Christina, was especially unprofessional and dismissive. Instead of addressing the issue, she focused on policies and even mentioned charging extra, rather than providing basic customer service. Very disappointing experience. No wonder the ratings have gone down.

Aesthetically, this place is beautiful. The ambiance, décor, and storefront create a charming European feel and make a wonderful first impression. Unfortunately, the food and service did not live up to the setting. I ordered the French toast, which was very dry, while my husband's quiche was quite good. The biggest disappointment was the service. The staff came across as snooty, unapproachable, and uninterested in providing a welcoming experience. While the atmosphere is lovely, the combination of mediocre food and poor service means we would not return.

Love this breakfast spot. Little far from where I live but worth the drive. Nice beautiful area. Went there for brunch, their omelette with a quick high protein. This spot is more like cafe, you have to order and pay ahead, quick service, Hope to be back with my family.!

Favorite place for brunch in the Pasadena area. Lots of good options everything great. There's a gift shop and deli instead too with great products. Love stopping by here to grab cute, fun, and unique gifts too. 10/10. Recommend

Came here on a Sunday morning for brunch with a few friends and it was such a cute spot. I ordered the Chicken Spa Salad, which was good just a big oily from the dressing.y friends ordered the French Toast, which smaller amazing and was a big portion. They ran out of water and didn't refill it so I'd be sure to bring your own water next time. Overall, cute spot with good brunch items!

Very cute spot! Lots of outdoor seating and parking around. So this place is 3 places all at once. It's a gift shop, restaurant, & marketplace and they all close at different times which I do think is off. Food was good but pricey. A friend of mine bought stuff at the marketplace and a pack of marshmallows (which wasn't good) cost like $13

The food was amazing! I ordered the breakfast burrito and my brother ordered the chilaquiles with chicken sausage. He also ordered a muffin and I ordered the raspberry muffin. I also ordered an Almer Palmer and a pumpkin spice iced latte. I really enjoyed my burrito and how perfect the size was with the green salsa. The raspberry muffin was jammed packed with flavor and so moist. The service was good. Our servers will come by every other 5 min to check in if we needed something or clean up. The ambiance is okay too but tables are a bit too close to other guests but I will for sure come back for a sandwich next time.

I love a spot with a lot of character, which is exactly what this place is. Vibes immaculate, huge variety of coffee/matcha drinks, and fresh food all around. I absolutely loved sitting outside and having fresh air with a great view. You are given a number at the counter, and your food is brought out to your table. Found seating outside but moved some plates ourselves from one table to another to find shade for us the kiddo. Grabbed a high chair and got seating set up. A few folks were setting up to play music out on the patio. We ordered inside as expected, thankfully the line wasn't too bad at that time so it went smoothly, though the prices are still higher than the average mom/pop sandwich place (but we anticipated this). We waited a bit for food while the patio band played. Ambience was pretty nice. Our friend's sandwich came out first and about 5 minutes later our food came. However, the Arnold Palmer we ordered didn't arrive with the food so we asked if they'd come back to bring it, and we were told they'd be right back. We waited probably another 5 minutes but drink still didn't come so I went inside to ask about it and saw the drink sitting on the back counter. So I asked staff if I could pick up the drink and they handed it over. Our friend's sandwich (the Jester) looked pretty filling while wife and I ordered/shared the Crown Jewel with cheese and mayo on the side. The Crown Jewel was pretty meh overall. Wasn't as stacked as the Jester and the bread fell apart as I ate it, despite the mayo on the side. At the end of eating someone came by to grab our order numbers and ask how things went. I commented on the wait for the drink and was told they couldn't find us, which sounded strange because they found us when bringing the sandwich and we still had our order number. But she said we could get a free refill. Since I wanted to take advantage of the refill I went inside to inquire but the order counter had gotten extremely busy. So I asked one of the bus/wait staff outside if they could grab my refill. He directed me inside and he commented how busy they were but I said I didn't want to wait in the huge line simply for a refill, so he offered to meet me inside to get the refill. Eventually I did receive the refill and we left. Overall, for the price of the food I felt the service was very average bordering on subpar, and the food was meh for the price. I don't blame the staff as they all seemed to be working very hard, but perhaps they were understaffed which would be more of a management issue. We basically bussed a couple tables on our own and waited what eventually amounted to 20-25 minutes for an ice tea/lemonade. I pre-tipped when I bought the food, which I kind of regretted but also felt bad that the employees were understaffed so I likely would have left a tip anyways. I don't plan to go back anytime soon. Wish the food and service were better

Had this bookmarked & noticed that a few Yelp Friends have left their reviews on here. It looks like that hometown feel type of shop but the experience today was NOT that. Service was polite but not quite that welcoming that you would feel at a mom n pops shop. It's too bad coz if it were, we would frequent this diner/cafe. Most places that we're regulars at, we feel valued as patrons and are welcomed like family. I find less and less places have this kind of atmosphere. We ordered breakfast staples; Hubby ordered a machaca combo with flour tortillas & black beans, I opted for the (2 large!) banana walnut pancakes combo with chicken apple sausage, potatoes & over medium eggs. Our food arrived timely, hot and good presentation. Hubby said the machaca was decent because having had his fair share of machaca, these passed. My pancakes were huge! Flavor was good, as the banana slices & walnuts were cooked in, not just placed on top like most places. Macadamias would've been a better pairing though. The chicken apple sausage was flavorful & eggs were cooked as requested. Noise level was somewhat loud with all the clanging as tables were cleaned/bussed around us. Overall a decent experience for our first time visit, as mentioned, if the service was more thoughtful & welcoming, it would've made the difference from a 3 star to perhaps a 4 or a 5 star. Food for thought.

It had been a long time probably before COVID since my last visit to Copa Vida. I recently met up…read morewith couple friends for Sunday brunch and was surprised to see they've expanded into the space next door. The place was packed, and we were lucky enough to grab the last available table. I ordered the stacked pancake breakfast along with an iced matcha latte, which was refreshing after a workout class nearby. My husband chose the brisket lunch burrito. Our food took quite a while to arrive, close to 30 mins! But the staff was very apologetic and even brought us a complimentary muffin while we waited. The pancakes were light, fluffy, and delicious. I swapped the bacon for tofu, and it made for a satisfying breakfast. However, my husband wasn't as impressed with his brisket burrito, saying it was a bit dry. Based on this visit, I'd recommend sticking with the breakfast items, pastries, and of course, the coffee. Copa Vida still makes a great cup of coffee!

Returned for dinner with my loved one (my mini boss), as promised…read more It was Towhey's 83rd birthday. Happy birthday! The atmosphere was family-friendly with a relaxed, chill ambiance. The checked-in staff were friendly and welcoming. As I walked in to be seated, I scanned the room looking for the beautiful Prita and was bummed when I didn't see her. Our waitress was kind and attentive. Then, as I scanned the room again, I was so happy to see Prita working that night. I wanted to go over and say hi, but since she was busy taking care of guests, I had to admire her from afar. To my complete surprise, Prita took over for our waitress during the second half of our meal, and I even got a hug from her. Yay! Dinner time! Let me try to remember what we ordered, since it has been almost a week. Appetizers Tomato Soup - $6.00 (x2) Steak Arugula Salad - $23.95 Drinks Hot Tea (mine) - $3.95 All Along the Watertower (mine) - $16.00 Lemonade - $6.95 Lemonade (to go) - $6.95 That girl robs me dry! :P The lemonade is homemade and blended, so I don't blame her. I mean I got 2 drinks. It's only fair. :) Entrées Truffle Mushroom Pasta - $19.95 Shrimp Pesto - $24.95 We shared both entrées. My daughter took a bite of the Shrimp Pesto and spent a long time savoring it. I asked, "What's wrong?" She said, "Do they make their own pesto?" I was impressed! I asked, "How do you know?" She replied, "I can taste the freshness and the texture." Wow! She's a true foodie. She's a much pickier eater than I am, so when I dine out with her... only quality restaurants! Dessert 83rd Birthday Sundae - $0.83 We had a great time! Yummy in our tummies!

I returned to Twohey's in South Pasadena with family…read more We got the following: 1. Pecan pie - not too sweet, perfect 2. Waffles with bananas - really good too - they serve breakfast all day! 3. Prime Rib Dip sandwich with garlic fries - yummy 4. Lindsey Salad - perfect bite with crunch, flavorful grilled chicken, and mandarin oranges and the cornbread it came with was moist. One of the best corn breads I have ever had. 5. Cherry frozen lemonade - delish! Our server Piper was very nice. The inside was spacious and there was a short 15 minutes wait when we arrived Sunday night at 7pm. We were seated at a booth. I liked that the bathroom was clean and smelled nicely. I returned after attending the Yelp Elite dinner event, and was not disappointed!
