KBBQ on a Saturday without wait! Came in early around 5pm and the place definitely filled up by 5:30. AYCE menu was fairly limited (missing common options such as seafood as well as more "exotic" meats such as tripe, intestines, or even beef tongue). Based on reviews and the fact we had a 2 year old with us, we opted for ordering two entrees and going after the hot bar. It's a great choice because the hot bar already has bulgolgi (and unlimited wings) and the whole experience felt like an AYCE at 60% of their price. Service was a bit spotty but not unexpected. Most of it is self service so wasn't an issue. They were blasting K pop the entire time... not the greatest ambiance for conversation, but good enough for a family meal out. Will be back. read more

I went for a friends bday party and it was an all you can eat special for $50, they wouldn't allow two people at the table to order off the menu, it was everyone at the $50. The server was very rude and got mad when we asked for "one of everything" off the all you can eat menu, we had 8 people, that wasn't a crazy ask. She never came back to our table, we had to flag her down to order more food and drinks. Eventually another server came to help us, our girl was no where to be found. We were cooking the entire time without butter or oil, unbeknownst to us, since the previous server didn't assist. If I could submit negative stars- i would. For context, I have eaten at numerous KBBQ places in 4 different countries, including S. Korea, for the past 20 years. Do not get the hot bar; it was horrible. Old, tired, beige, dried out food in steamer pans- very few items and all appearing unappetizing. less than 10 items which included French fries. :( The "salad" bar is limited in options- and not one i would call a "salad" bar at all. Putting out a few containers of veggies does not equate a salad bar. And for the "but this is standard Asian food"- hold that thought as I am part Asian and very familiar with Asian food, flavors and presentation. Fresh food is fresh food- old tired and dried out food is still crap. :/ And protein is King- giving unlimited poorly cooked white rice is not enough. We ordered the Anniversary special of AYCE for 39$- and were told to start with 3 meats; we ordered the rib eye, short ribs " LA style" and beef bulgogi. We made it VERY clear to start with those 3 meats (and they only let you order 3 meats from the start, though its AYCE). We only received 2 items (the cheapest ones of course- 3 strips of unseasoned short rib LA style and beef bulgogi- NOT the rib eye), and when we tried to correct it, the server feigned understanding. At that point, i just told my husband lets go home as i didn't want any of the food since 1) tasteless 2) the "smokeless" system is no different than cooking the unseasoned meat on a frying pan. This was not worth 39$ much less 5$ and would caution ANYONE to pay the going rate of 55-59$ outside of the "Anniversary special". HUGE disappointment- which is sad as we were really excited to see a AYCE KBBQ in the Redmond area (i miss the ones we used to go to in Toronto, ON or Vancouver BC or Seoul, S. Korea). When we left- we went to another restaurant in the area as I couldn't and didn't each much due to the unappetizing, poorly presented, and overcharged food. The only ONLY plus is that you can make reservations. So maybe this place is for you, if you have no understanding of what KBBQ is about or have low standards for food quality and service. Maybe that explains seeing alot of non-Asian American stereotypes as patrons. Oh for what it is worth- my husband throughout the night, after the meal, had gut issues, if ykwim. He was the one who ate the majority of the food and got hit hard. No wonder this place has only a "Good" rating from the Public Health office. AVOID. Do NOT recommend. GO SOMEPLACE ELSE!!!! Go to Gyu-Kaku: yes its Japanese version of KBBQ and its not AYCE, but the food will not disappoint. ;) (I wish i could post pictures of how dry and horrible looking the food was, but each time i tried, i got the stink eye from the staff). read more

My group of 6 friends and I came over to try the other day! Called to make a reservation one day ahead of time at 6pm, had no issues. The place became very full around 8pm (peak seem to be around then). Plenty of parking around the area. We all had the AYCE bbq ($55/person). Meat was fresh and quite delicious - I would say the best was the short rib and the most surprising the chuck flap. However options are somewhat limited, lacking any non pork/beef options (plenty to try for our group though) Also did not really supply us with much veggies. More v veggies to grill with would've been really nice. The hot bar was better than expected. Korean fried chicken was crunchy and the precooked bulgogi was good, but I sense this was similar to the Brazilian steak house scheme where they try to get u to eat this instead of the bbq. But it is good, but probably not worth the ayce but to each their own. Lastly, the smoke gets pretty strong by late night and you probably have to wash your clothes next day. This place is 'ok.' We went on a late Sunday afternoon and it was not busy. I like the fact that the side dishes and even the rice is self-serve. It was also nice to have two types of Korean Fried Chicken (KFC) as a side dish selection. So this part of the restaurant set up is very convenient. The meat you have to order from the waitresses, as well as the drinks. The waitresses do not cook the meat for you; dont think I've been to one in Washington where they do. Not even worth writing full paragraphs for this one. Here are the bullet points/highlights: - Both wife and I got food poisoning. The cold bar/hot bar looked sus and I should have been more careful about this and was likely the source of the food poisoning. The food trays and plates had standing water and you can see people shaking water onto the ground. - Aside from hygiene, the food selection was very poor - even the wrong lettuce and sauces were provided. The banchan selection was probably only 3-4 items. I tried the fried chicken and it was clearly tenderized so much that it had a very strange texture. I suspect they're not operated by Koreans or they're not intending the food to be consumed by Koreans. - The meat quality was very bad even for a AYCE. You have to typically "grade on a curve" at places like this, but you're getting subpar stuff they won't even sell at Safeway here, folks. - Service was terrible. After waiting over 15 minutes for our second order of meats, we had to remind 3 different staff members twice - each time having to recite our order again to them. No one came to refill drinks. - In my 30 years of eating at many many Korean BBQ places at many different price points - this was the first time I've seen a grill plate cleaning with a paper towel. The waiter came and moved all of our food onto one of our plates, then proceeded to wipe the grill plate with a paper towel. Typically, a new grill plate is brought and replaced. - People with kids beware - full price begins at age 8. OK so I ended up writing paragraphs anyways. I guess I recovered enough from my 5 trips to the toilet last evening. I would say don't bother with this place, but they probably won't last long anyways. read more

The hot bar might not be worth it if it cost extra to order it alone however since the variety is small. 2 kinds of bulgogi- they need to make the pork bulgogi spicy stir fried pork to make it worth it.
