Good coffee and solid options on salads and sandwiches. Food is better than your average coffee shop. Very good choice for quick lunch. Space is a bit wonky, though. Can get "clogged" in the rear while waiting for order, so if you're not good in tight spaces might be a bit uncomfortable for your wait. read more

Love the space. Quiet, cool and mellow at off hours. Coffee is quite good. But PLEASE baristas, is it necessary to use your bare fingers to level the coffee on the basket before you set it into the machine to extract? At no other high end coffee shop anywhere, have we seen baristas consistently use their bare hands while making our coffee. We've patronized the shop since it opened, and can only surmise that whomever trains the staff TRAINS them to use their fingers. Cleary an unsanitary practice. Grab a clean knife. Best Coffee in the Financal district hands down, however coffee to price ratio is crazy. $4+ for a 8oz cappuccino... However if you got the money it's truly wonderful. Staff is nice and the cold pressed drinks are excellent. I only tried the coffee and nut milk one but I love it and the average juice in nyc goes for $9+ this one is around $7, ironically it's cheep compared to the market price. Will be stoping by often on my way to queens. read more

Came here on a Thursday night to catch a drink and practice a presentation. Cutest little cafe I've been to yet. They served some pretty cheap, but quality beer as well. The lighting at night was to die for, like a scene out of a movie; they use candles and turn down the lights and put on a movie. Would totally take a date here if I'm in the area. read more

I may be biased as I know a bunch of the baristas, but I can, with confidence tell you that the coffee here is crazy good. I never drank coffee without milk or sugar until I came here, and now I definitely do. Yeah, it's expensive, but you're not only paying for a great product but for really nice people to make your coffee fresh in front of you. The food is also pretty tasty, and they always have great soups. It doesn't hurt that it seems like they don't hire unattractive people as everyone there is easy on the eyes. :) read more

It's oh so dark and kinda creepy in here, lol. It's 9 in the morning, why so dim? It was quiet but not as welcoming. I ordered an ice mocha, which seemed to plain and simple for a place like this. A quieter, more mellow space than the original (a few blocks South on Greenwich). Their coffee is just as good, but the vibe is not a hip/happy/bright....which is good for a place to have a private conversation or read a book in peace. read more

What a great find! The coffee and food is awesome and I love that it's all organic/natural (plus they have stevia!). I had their turkey chili (which you have to ask them to heat up, btw, if you're eating in) and an iced coffee. Both were delicious and the prices aren't terrible. A little more expensive than other fast food places but you get what you pay for! I love the lamb dolls all over the store, too.. super cute! I'll definitely be back to try more. read more

I was so impressed with this place. Stumbled upon it while trying to find some decently priced lunch food in TriBeCa. So happy I came across Kaffe 1668. This is totally one of those places that if I ever opened up my own cafe, I'd want it to look like this. Very hip decor with an intimate atmosphere. They also have some really unique and creative sandwiches/wraps. Your meal comes with a complimentary iced tea, too! Your choice on what flavor! It's a bit pricier that your average sandwich shop, but I would come back here in a heartbeat. My favorite cafe in all of Manhattan so far. read more

I'm always unable to tell which is which of 2 Kaffe 1668 in addresses. it caused that I got the one in 401 Greenwich St in the 4th time after my 3-time visits to another one in 275 Greenwich St. That wasn't funny, truly...! According to me, though I've stopped the 275 one 3 times, the 401 one impressed me deeply by its decor and style. There is a long hall reaching to the end of the coffee shop with the warm light and woody table sets, filling up the mysterious ambience. Like drinking coffee in a castle. Somehow, it earned much less reviews than I thought on Yelp. Its drinks is as great as the 275 one, plus the air is amazingly attractive. So...the location might be the issue or what? read more

Great spot for Manhattan locals. This is the first non Starbucks I ventured into when I moved to NYC a few years ago. Decently clean bathrooms, internet, big awesome wooden tables like something out of an old-time castle. Sheep stuffed animals everywhere. I used to forget the name of this place and google coffee sheep NYC and it appeared in the search. Great non-dairy options. High quality pre packaged juices and other things. Delicious treats. Not bad, not good. Too many sheep. Using massing in decor can be great...they overshot. They take a great deal of time to produce a harsh, ragged espresso. But they open before anyone else in the neighborhood, so I have my caffeine and that's good. Husband says americano is one degree down from meh. Witchcraft used to get the coffee crowd in this area. Now that Kaffe 1668 has opened their second store on the same street - right across from the Citi building, people actually get to appreciate the taste of specialty coffee. The baristas do a great job at the espresso drinks, including pour-overs. My favorite by far is the cappuccino. This is a great space to relax and unwind or to meet up with friends. Not a huge fan of the croissant or the flavored iced teas. Pseudo-hipsters at the cashier could probably work on their customer service skills. read more
