The decoration in the coffee shop is cool and it's a family friendly environment. The space in the coffee shop is huge. Coffee is okay ans it's not that special compared to other cpffee roasters in nyc. I am not sure if the design of paper cup for hot coffee is a failure because on that day the paper is too thin and my coffee keeps leaking. They have a good coffee menu, consistent high quality standards, and rocking baristas. They also have food. Problem comes from hard to read menu and surcharge on milk alternatives. It's a really expensive cup and not worth it with the other options in town. read more

This place has a very mysterious feel to it. Starting with the lamb dolls all around the store, dimly lit and very spacious bar area. Aside from the décor, I ordered a cappuccino and I would have to say its as good as what I get in Melbourne (Proud Mary and St Ali best coffee shops in Melbourne if you ever venture to Australia). This is a reasonable place to grab lunch, though it's not anything special. The sandwiches come with a free iced tea, which is a friendly little addition. The pricing is very reasonable, and the menu is diverse enough to change it up. As far as eating, the restaurant is a bit drab inside. I know it's long an narrow, but they could've done a bit better on lighting. The sandwiches are good. They're made fresh, and don't take TOO long. It does seem like a place that a lot of neat people come get lunch, so maybe I'm missing something if I don't think it's fantastic as all Tribeca. I think that as far as lunch goes, it's a good option for the area. I've been here a couple times and will probably come back every once in a while. I hear the coffee is just okay. read more

Pricey but it's tribeca, right. The food is good but I wish they would stick to the menu. They never have the soup that's on the menu. We love the veggie chili & they hardly ever have it. They always run out of stuff... like the goat cheese. They're always changing the hummus. One week it's beet hummus then another it's regular & then another it's regular with bits of parsley. Before ordering my first coffee from Kaffe 1668, I was simply a Dunkin Donuts coffee drinker. Since that first cup at Kaffe 1668, I can't even drink a full cup of coffee from anywhere else. I don't get the hype... I just don't get it. Almost 5 dollars for a regular cold brew... the coffee is good but I wouldn't say it's great coffee. But the reason they are getting the lower review is really the Hawaiian wearing shirt guy. If I'm spending 5 dollars for just cold brew why would you ask me if I want to get some soy or almond milk for extra? Why? I don't feel comfortable there. There are people working there but the lightening is really dim. I think I just don't get the hype about this place. read more

The staff are very nice and friendly. The music selection is always great except when it's gets a little folky. It's way to dark. I feel like I'm going to fall asleep at this coffee shop. Will definitely come back. Hopefully more sandwiches will be added to the menu and more light. read more

Sitting in the North location as I write this review. Have just picked up lunch to go & taking a moment to breathe relax and gather my thoughts. There couldn't be a more intimate, pleasantly dim chic place to do just this right now. As a patron of Kaffe north for the past almost two years now, this place rarely disappoints, and I order lunch from here mostly daily. Even though it's slightly cult-like in this joint, it's friendly, so it works. I highly recommend any of the salads, usually very fresh and refreshing - I never feel greasy or bloated after consuming. A bit pricey, but that's NYC for you. Love this location. :) read more

The coffee at Kaffe 1668 is some of the best in the area. However, on a recent occasion, both my friend and I decided to purchase double espressos over ice. Both times, the cashier shamed us for our orders, noting that we were trying to scam the system and not order the more expensive drink, the iced latte. Let it be known that the double shot of espresso over ice still costs $3.21 with tax, which is by no means an inexpensive beverage. Any person should be able to walk into in an establishment and order the drink of their choice without critique or shade. Kaffe 1668 should strive to be an egalitarian organization and should be ashamed. read more

Horrendous delivery service - if you can't manage the logistics of delivery, you shouldn't offer it. I placed a delivery order at 11am on a Sunday and the estimate was 45 minutes. At noon, I called and they said the delivery was 10 minutes away (although the guy I talked to said he had "genuinely no clue" why it was taking so long. It finally came at 1pm - a full 2 hours later - and the toast with egg I ordered was not only freezing cold but was the wrong menu item. NEVER again. read more

Kaffe 1668 is divine coffee in New York with an excellent atmosphere. One may expect the Tribeca-area office crowd and casual meetings in the daytime, at times quite busy, and low key encounters by evening with the most splendid low-light. My only wish, or sincere request rather, would be for Kaffe 1668 to bring back their very impressive Chocolate Truffles which I have not seen at either location since about 2013/14. Nothing can ever be smooth at Kaffe 1668 (at least this location). I've been going there since it opened. Now, hardly. Countless times, I've waited 10-15 minutes on coffee with hardly anyone in the store. Ordering food? Good luck. The process from the cashier to the kitchen is horrific. Its either a forgotten order, wrong order, or as in my last experience waiting 15 minutes, an order that should have never been filled in the first place because there were no ingredients in the back. Yes, they apologize most of the time but the service here is just really horrible. Want to know the soup of the day? Don't dare to call. 50 rings later and three call attempts; no answer. Because of all of this, Kaffe has gone from a place I visited four times a day to about once every three months. The food is good but sorry, people are busy and don't have time to be waiting around all day or coming back to get something corrected. And I know its not THAT busy. Sweetgreens is right next door. Just needs better organization. read more

However if you are looking to do work on your laptop or catch up on your reading, this cafe is not the place to do it.This coffee shop has plenty of seating, but the place is dimly lit and can get quite loud at times. My favorite work spot. The atmosphere is great: relaxing music and candle light and sheep!! Their coffee is really good! Whether you order a cappuccino or regular ice coffee, your taste buds will be very happy. Their pastries and breakfast/lunch options are great, too! My go-tos are their avocado toast or yogurt. This cafe is beautiful. That is the only reason that they even have one star. I went for lunch with a coworker today since it is nearby our office. We have gone for coffee before and decided to try the lunch - big mistake. I ordered a Mediterranean wrap - I was told to go back and see if they had one already made in the refrigerator. Ok...I left the line and there weren't any so I grabbed a sald. I had to get back on line. When I got back to the counter, it was $26 for a salad and a juice that were pre-made and sitting in a refrigerator. After getting my credit card back, the cashier stared at my blankly. I asked if I needed to sign something. She responded "No?". Not even a thank you, there was no indication that I was done. When I got back to my seat and looked at the menu, it stated that the salads come with cornbread and all lunches come with an iced tea, not sure why no one mentioned that. I went back to the counter and asked about it, I was again met with a blank stare. She then pointed to a sign with tea options and said "which?". After a pretty long wait for iced tea, I gave up...no cornbread. Very strange service, overpriced and rude. read more

Very nice decor. Came here and had an affagato. The wait for ice cream was so long the cashier gave my friend a free tea which was nice of her. The affagato was more ice cream thsn espresso (but hey I love ice cream, so it wasn't a problem ;))The walls are lined with sheep and there was plenty of seating available. Much much less crowded than the Kaffe 1668 located a little south of here, this place has lot of things going for it: beautiful sleek styling, plenty of seating, delicious soup/food, great coffee, friendly and competent baristas. It, however, is pretty expensive as well, and there are no outlets/wifi, so definitely not a place to go to study. However, as a place to meet up with friends and chill (and/or if you just want to do something non-computer/electronic related, like read a book or something crazy like that), this place is perfect. read more

This second location of Kaffe 1668 is located north of the first location on the same street, which caused some confusions when my friends and I decided to meet at "Kaffe 1668 on Greenwich St". Like the original location, this one has the dark lighting, sheep, and wood, but is long and narrow. In addition to the coffee, tea and juice beverages, they also serve wine and their own chocolate truffles, which were quite decent if a little expensive ($2.25/truffle) As the other location is nearer to me, I will probably frequent that one rather than this one. read more

Panins vs. Wraps: Get the Panini if you're hungry - the mozzarella tomato is warm, tasty and oh so cheesy. The Mango Avocado wrap is amazing - sweet yet savory. Salads: Salad selection is limited but the kale and sweet potato as well as the goat cheese salads are both pretty good.
