My friend had the drunken noodles with shrimp and I had the red curry with shrimp - both spice level 5 out of 10 which was the perfect medium-spicy. We got there early because I have two young children who start to lose it as it gets closer to bedtime. Since we were the only ones there (it was literally 4:45 when we walked in) the hostess occupied my 2 year old while I looked at the menu. He loved all of the colored lights everywhere. Pretty good Asian fusion. Vibrant colors and fresh ingredients. Pretty colorful and energetic ambiance with a regular seating area, bar area, and special traditional Japanese seating. The food comes in enormous sizes, probably enough for 2-3 meals. I ordered an entree and a sushi roll but could only finish the roll despite the fact I began the meal being very hungry. I also found the bar specials to be pretty creative in terms of drinks. Despite all of this, there was a down shot: I found my waitress to be off putting and inattentive. I was traveling for work and found this place on Yelp because it was close to my hotel. The reviews made me go ahead and try it. I was very pleasantly surprised at how nice it is on the inside vs. what you see from the road. This might be something the restaurant wants to look at because I almost didn't eat here for that reason. I sat at the bar and had great service. The bartender was quick with everything and made suggestions to try. I have a weird food allergy to an ingredient in virtually all sushi and it was easily worked around. I got the house salad, which was pretty much your standard lettuce with ginger dressing. Nothing out of the norm here. I got the Ninja roll which was delicious. A lot of flavors and colors. If I ever find myself in Jacksonville again I will come back. read more

It is hard to find good sushi in Jacksonville FL. This place is certainly the exception. I cannot speak for the Thai food, but I have been hear for lunch, and I had dinner here last night. I eat sushi once a week (sometimes more often), and this is place may be my new favorite. It is not inexpensive, but the price is reasonable for the quality. It's extremely fresh! They also have a good happy hour (I need to come back earlier for that). As for the atmosphere, it's beautiful. It's romantic (great for a date), yet trendy (great for a ladies' night). Before they did, I was continuously disappointed in the sushi options here. Traveling for business here in Jacksonville from Dallas, TX. Sushi is by far my favorite cuisine so I like to try it out when I visit new places. I ordered the super white tuna sashimi ($6.50 for 3 thickly cut pieces) and the Crazy Dynamite Roll ($12). My total was less than $15. The fish was excellent quality and the roll was delicious. I also ordered a small hot house sake ($4.50). As I poured the last cup of sake into my glass something plopped in with the sake--it was a dead fly. I drank a whole small sake and at the bottom of the carafe was a dead fly...needless to say I was a little grossed out by this. I showed the waitress and she offered another carafe of sake and I declined and told her I was a little grossed out. She said she would speak with her manager. When she brought me the check they had removed the sake which was a nice gesture. These things happen, this was no one's fault in particular so I can't say I'm mad and it didn't ruin my experience because the sushi was excellent. read more

I felt as if I was walking into a piece of art. This place is not only trendy, it's art from the floor to the ceiling. By art, I don't mean paintings - I mean this entire place is a piece of art in itself. The food is also their canvas. I had the Sun Fire Sushi and it was one of the most remarkable dishes I've ever seen or eaten. Well this place has gone downhill. We went last night and had a really bad experience and it wasnt even that busy! The glasses smelt like onions (probably washed with frying pans) and had to return the tea that was already awful ready made stuff. It's not that hard to brew your own iced tea! Then i asked for a bottle of water and it was 3.50$. The tuna tataki was bland and fishy tasting. Dynamite roll came out mushy and poorly rolled. Upcharge to give my daughter grilled shrimp instead of fried....bill for 2 adults and a child was over 60$!!!! No alcohol. Won't be returning. read more

Food is consistently good, but the hostess... not who you want making the first impression on customers. 8:30 on Thursday night, not busy, she couldn't even be bothered to greet us when we walked in. After a few minutes of standing there waiting she looked up and asked our seating preference and then when she went to seat us too close to service area, we asked to sit at a different table. Her response was "it's whatever". Been in the service industry for years and yeah, she wouldn't have a job anymore if I was her manager. She obviously didn't want to be there. The way the place was decorated was very nice. The only negative I can give it is that it took them about 10 minutes to take our drink order. went last Fri night..as we usually do. May 13th, 2016. Was told there was a 15-20 minute wait, so we said OK..and sat at the bar, each ordering a glass of wine. about 10 mins later, table was ready... we get seated, fill out the sushi menu and leave on end of table. 10,15.20 mins...not even a glass of water, menu never picked up, and my wife couldnt even get the attention of ANY staff member as the ran by. set the timer on my phone for 3 mins, and I said when this hits 0, we are leaving. sure enough...0 arrives, we get up, and as we are exiting, the hostess says " how was it"..I politley told her what happened, and she said, sit bacl down, we will take care of you. I kindly refused, and said we will go elsewhere...so Kamiya86, you lost at least 1 loyal customer. and I send about 25 clients a week into there...so now, I am going to recommend another place for sushi.
