Decent food. Service was polite. One of the dishes came out on the colder side and the server apologized that it had been sitting on the counter a bit longer as they were waiting on ensuring it came out with other dishes. I am not too convinced as it would appear that the dish (stir fry) was premade and should have been warmed up (stir fried before serving) but the latter step was missed. They took it back and returned with what I assume was the same except this time warm and stir fried with heat. Overall (and could be because of the initial bite being cold and not flavorful)- not a fan of the stir fry. But the curry and the house fried rice was flavorful. Not a large dining space and wouldn't recommend a large party. Indoor seating only.

The veggie fried spring rolls are so bomb! I've ordered them alone to take home for a snack later! Their portions are huge. The pad see ew is fantastic. The service is great and the location has plenty of parking behind/to the side of the restaurant. It's quaint but delicious. Best Thai food in Tucson imo and I e been to Thailand and lived many decades in s ca where Thai is plentiful. Five well deserved stars!

Back in may, we wanted to try Karuna's but unfortunately went when it was closed. This time around, Thinh, Shreya, and I were able to get a taste of what this place has to offer and left with full, satisfied bellies. The pad thai was our favorite, a perfect savory flavor topped with a generous amount of peanuts. The food was so good that Shreya forgot where we were headed on the way to class, a clear sign of the classic food coma. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a cozy atmosphere with good comfort food!

I came to Karuna's because I was seeking a particular yellow curry soup with coconut milk, potato, onion and carrot. On their website http://www.karunasthaiplate.com I found just that. The name of the curry is: Gang Garee and was advertised online for a price of $10.25 with choice of chicken, beef, or pork. && $12.95 for shrimp. Once I arrived to Karuna's I learned the menu prices are different. The updated prices are: Choice of chicken, pork, or tofu $14.95 | Beef or shrimp $15.95 plus taxes. These prices also include the white rice. I give the Gang Garee 5 stars because it provided exactly what I was seeking in flavor, texture, and quality.

One of my favorite take out places by far! Initially during the COVID19 pandemic they were delivering by Postmates, but now they are forever "too busy". Does anyone know how to get delivery from them?

Have you tried doordash?

We started with the spring rolls which were fresh and light. A little bit of mint and a delicious peanut sauce with a hint of heat. The rolls are large and make part of a meal by themselves. They have tofu options as well making them a vegetarian option. We ordered the Panang Chicken Curry and Crab noodles. Both were aromatic and good portions. We got two meals out of them. The chicken was a good curry with bright notes including basil. Large pieces of chicken as well as vegetables made the dish hearty. If you like Thai curry, it is excellent. The crab noodles had large amounts of shredded crab and egg. The sauce was slightly sweet and complimented the crab perfectly. Agin the amount of crab made it a hearty meal. The noodles were thin and light and perfectly prepared. Both dishes had a balance of flavors that spoke of a good chef who paid attention even in a fast paced restaurant. This is an excellent and affordable Thai option in Tucson!

My favorite Vietnamese food in Tucson in terms of the food itself…read more My favorites here: #16 Seasoned Julienned taro root with vermicelli noodles, pickled daikon and the typical vietnamese herbs etc and sweet soy sauce. It comes with fried tofu typically but they let you exchange the tofu with a couple of their delicious vietnamese crispy rice paper egg rolls that are stuffed with deliciously seasoned tofu (#14 on the menu) and that's my favorite way to order it. Mixing all of it together is heaven. This is by far my favorite here! I find that I generally really like taro- all parts of the plant! The root as served in this restaurant and in Thai desserts, the leaves in filipino laing and the stalk (elephant ear stalk) in vietnamese Canh Chua soup. #20 Fried rice noodles dish (ask for the crispy option!) . This one became quite expensive recently but when I had it in the past it was delicious. Definitely get the crispy version! #14: Those vietnamese crispy rice paper egg rolls that are stuffed with deliciously seasoned tofu are so good. They let you get them a la carte but the full plate comes with the sauce and herbs. I get them as part of #16 as described above so it has the sauce and herbs in that dish as well. I really love that they have a vegetarian and vegan menu and that they have the vegan sweet soy sauce available in place of fish sauce for that menu. The restaurant is attached to Lee Lee international supermarket which is an absolute must visit in my opinion for international food lovers and people who want to learn about world cuisines. It's a great place to find international ingredients that are not easily found elsewhere. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! There are several different condiments, extra napkins, and utensils already on the table for your convenience. Our food arrived quickly and both items had such depth of flavor! The rice noodles with scallion oil came with onions wrapped in beef and grilled, something we had never tried before but were just as good as it sounds. The pho broth also clearly had been simmering for hours. It was dark and rich in flavor while the veggies were still crisp and fresh. For living in central Tucson, this place is definitely worth the 20 minute drive!

This was a solid Thai food experience! I'd probably give it closer to 4.5 stars but rounded up…read more We got the pad see ew with chicken, the teriyaki chicken and the green curry. All we're flavorful, with well cooked veggies, meat an rice/noodles - nothing overcooked and everything seemed high quality and fresh. The curry had lots of fun flavor notes and came with fluffy rice. The pad see ew could've used a little more sauce but was sweet and savory in the way you hope pad see ew will be. The portions were reasonable too, with 3 dishes ending up with enough leftovers for lunch for 2 people the next day. We'll definitely add this into our takeout rotation!

I'll start by saying that the Tom Kha soup here is by far the best in Tucson in my opinion. I tried…read moreevery it at every single Thai restaurant in town and for me, no other come close to how good it is here. Tart and well balanced with all the flavors of galangal, kaffir lime leaves and spice. Not overly sweet. It comes with mushrooms and I get it with fried tofu or vegetables (they now charge extra to do half and half unfortunately and it's already a little pricey) I alway get Tom Kha at the highest spice level. It's not very spicy here but consistently good. I ask them for Chilli crisp sauce on the side and love to put it in the soup too. Solid 5 stars from me for the Tom Kha soup here! I really miss their old location 4 Seasons where they had it served in a hot pot and had the picnic tables outside. At this new location now they only have disposable dishes and no outside seating. While I find the Tom Kha really perfect here, other dishes are a little less consistent for me. for example last time I got the red curry it was very watery and not quite as good. I did really like their pumpkin curry here too. If you enjoy spice I recommend getting the highest spice level here (5/5), it's definitely far below the spice level of many Thai restaurants. At their previous location I really enjoyed the fresh rolls with tofu but I have yet to get them at the new location. Oh and they are vegan and vegetarian friendly in my experience. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I guess we were lucky to find Luckie's as a Thai-Asian cuisine which does both. They're located in the Fry's shopping center. Inside you seat yourself at any of the open tables. I would guess they can seat about 40-60 for capacity. There are menus you can take from the counter back to your table. There are also some pictures of the dishes above the main counter to see what you might be ordering. The staff was very friendly and helpful when placing the order. We started with eggrolls which were more like Chinese Spring Rolls. Their spring rolls are much different and Thai style using the clear wrap and not fried. My brother had the chicken curry while I had the seafood curry and mom had the shrimp with lobster sauce. The rice arrives as a large scoop in a separate bowl while the main dish is in another bowl. They're easily mixed on the plate. The seafood curry was very tasty and not too spicy. It came with shrimp, salmon and mussels along with peppers and onions. The shrimp with lobster sauce was too much for mom so we took it home. The staff offered a box of fried rice to take home as well at no extra cost. Most dishes cost around $12-$18. I was glad we made the right choice for lunch.
