Kennedys has been one of my family's favorite restaurants for years but recently we were able to experience dining outdoors in their gorgeous new yurts - the food was spectacular, the wait staff was wonderful, but the ambiance was truly amazing. Each yurt was perfectly decorated for each theme and the Christmas lights were stunning. I have told everyone to come - you must see for yourselves! Marlboro is very lucky to have this great staple. Kennedy's has hired singer for Saturday night. This makes the noise level unbearable. Kennedy's food is great and so is the service but it's so noisy that you can't talk with others in your party. We won't go there for dinner on a Saturday night again. read more

One of the best restaurants in the area. Definitely a favorite for me and my boyfriend. We have been visiting frequently over the past 3 years that we have lived in Marlboro. A coworker and I visited the pub on the way to our hotel. At first, we didn't realize the restaurant is behind the market. Once we figured that out, we went inside. The interior looked like I would expect an old school Irish pub to look. Our server was very nice and fun to talk with. We started with drinks and their Fried Zucchini. It tasted amazing and the portion size was above average. For dinner, I had the fisherman's basket. It was battered fish, scallops and shrimp. The batter was really good and not over done. My biggest issue is the place was loud and service was slow. There were times I thought our server forgot our party was there. As for the food, well the calamari was overdone. The main courses, not really sure I'd say it was anything special that would make me say I have to go back there to have it. But it was well done and tasty. Went here for the first time today. Had lunch with my cousin. They brought cheese ball & breadsticks pre meal - very nice. She had the cheeseburger & fries: The bun was beautiful and delicious. The burger was very good & the pickle was fresh & crisp. I got the beef with popover & delmonaco potatoes. The beef was roast beef, so good. Popover was a bit dry. Potatoes were sumptuous. Dessert: I ordered the carrot cake. It must have been house made. It was so moist and delicious. It had a few blueberries and the crowning jewel - it looked like a tortilla was stuck in it, but it was a piece of house made brittle. It melted in my very appreciative mouth. The decade is nearly over, so we stepped back to 1982 for dinner tonight and went to Kennedy's. The burgers and fries were disappointing - somehow a generous portion of beef w/ cheese and bacon managed to taste bland and the "grand burger" was missing it's onion ring that it was supposed to have (according to the menu description). My wife, who generally despises condiments, indicated massive amounts of ketchup were needed to cover the charred, dry pub burger. Good pickles, though! While the reviews of the burgers were comparable to those of the movie Cats, the grilled lemon pepper trout filet was very good, and the chop house ground sirloin with delmonico potatoes was tasty comfort food. Just skip the veggies as the broccoli was steamed beyond the point of having any remaining texture. read more

I liked it years ago but moved away from the area, and rediscovered it 6 months ago. The food is great for the price, but drink prices are on the higher side. Last night our server Maddie was great. They serve bread, cheese and crackers also but you have to request them. We only knew to ask as we saw others with them. Why not offer them to all? I know the answer, but that seems odd. On weekend nights it gets busy, so I recommend making reservations. read more

Really disappointing. We always make reservations for a high top at the bar. Never had been a problem until last night. We got there and the host tells us she probably wasn't going to be able to give us a high top. And we weren't even close to being seated anyway on time. Not sure why that happened. Went to Kennedy's Pub for the first time on a Friday evening. Party of 6 sat near the bar area. It was quite busy and the bar was loud. Our waitperson was very friendly and quick. We ordered drinks while studying the menu. I ordered the smokehouse burger cooked medium, my partner had fish and chips, while others ordered burgers and Davids special. My burger was perfectly cooked and juicy. I had a couple of bites of the fish which was fresh and flakey. There were no complaints from our table. We'll be back! September 2018 update: service has unfortunately degraded over the past several months. On my last few visits, my dining party had to repeatedly remind our server for items ordered, but not served. Pretty neat Irish pub that serves breakfast lunch and dinner. The ambiance and decor is rustic and charming and the place is pretty spacious. Service is friendly & attentive enough. They had a decent breakfast crowd there on a weekend morning of course because everyone does brunch these days and the bar is a huge attraction as it was pretty busy early in the day. I tried the combo w two pancakes along w eggs, home fries and bacon. It was all pretty good. Definitely step up from diner quality and it was hearty and did the trick. Eggs Benedict is also superb here and made great. The bloody Mary's seem to be pretty popular here as everyone had one. I opted for just water and coffee. Self control after all. Food, for the most part always has been quite good, but this time take away was very disappointing. Ordered was a bowl of clam chowder, Fisherman's platter (seafood platter), fish and chips and walnut chicken salad. We did not get the bowl of chowder (it was a cup), the fisherman's net (asked for the shrimp be swapped out, it was not. Somehow we got shrimp on a skewer and a baked potato. None of which was ordered. No quality check on the takeout, very poor attention to a restaurant we choose over others. And to contact customer service deems useless as placing a call to talk with someone, where is the option to email this instead of taking it out on a public forum like Yelp? read more

Horrible experience at this place from the beginning to the end. I was there just have a lobster and a cold drink for the evening. It ended to be a frustrating and upset situation. First they didn't have three of the drinks offered in the menu. Then after 40 min passed by, the waitress came and said "oh sorry, your order got lost." "I need to put your order again." Then 45 min minutes passed by and nothing. Everyone around had their food, even the people who arrived after us. The not so cold beer that was served while ago was already finished.... I went to speak to the manager that's when things got even worse. Instead of apologizing of the bad service. My husband and I made reservations for my birthday dinner. I ordered a Soda, Prime Rib (medium rare and as little fat as possible) which came with a popover and a baked potato. My husband ordered 1 glass of beer and Sirloin Steak (medium rare and a baked potato. Neither meal came with a vegetable nor a salad. The waitress was very pleasant - checking on us a few times. My prime rib and unfortunately had too much fat. My husband said his steak was just fair. Both baked potatoes were undercooked and we had to deal with those small FROZEN butter packs which are a pain to open. The bill came w/tip to $96 - not worth it. We won't be returning. read more

After browsing the menu I decided to go with Fish and Chips, a typically safe choice. The lunch entrée came with one medium size piece of fish, fries and coleslaw. Fries are not quite soggy, but have poor structural integrity. No taste, poor texture. Very porous. The fish is dry and crumbly. The batter has no taste, no complexity. It gives a little crunch, but that's about it. The fish begs for tartar sauce. The tartar sauce was provided courtesy Ken's. I didn't even realize Ken's made tartar sauce. It tasted more like salad dressing. I had to drown the food in ketchup. Coleslaw was puzzling. I got a tiny condiment cup half full of mushy cabbage drowned in dressing. Unfortunately, the safest choice was still quite poor in terms of taste, quality and integrity. I'm positive the fish and fries were pre-made, frozen and reheated/re-fried. So, yes you could potentially make a better meal at home with a pack of Gorton's and frozen fries. I will note that the waitresses were very friendly and personable, and the establishment has a cozy vibe, so if you are looking to cozy up with folks and pints, maybe this is the right place. However, if you are interested in food I recommend you seek other establishments. read more

My husband and I live nearby and this has become a go-to. It's a classic Irish pub, old-style feel. The food is always good quality, and reasonably priced. We love the pub cheese they give you at the beginning. We went a couple times last summer/fall, when outdoor seating was available, and they very often have live music (even with COVID).
