Wife and I were vacationing on the coast and Kenny Wards was recommended to us. From the moment we entered we were served impeccably. Our waiter was professional yet personable and fully explained the menu options and answered our questions. We started with the chargrilled oysters- unbelievable. My wife got the filet and I got the fish of the day grilled and topped with fried soft shell crab and a creamy lumped crabmeat sauce. The tastes were off the chart. All the food was amazing. Ordered the 8 oz. Filet mignon for both me and my wife. Mine came out with a cut in it. The waitress asked would I like the blue cheese sauce without stating it's a $9.50 up charge a piece. The bill came and my wife complained of the $9.50 x 2 charge. First we asked for the manager but the owner barged in and threw a $20 bill at my wife and told us he would call the police. This man should not be in the hospitality business and was combative. Stay away from this no atmosphere clip joint where you can get better treatment from Chick Fi let. Bon Appetit. read more

I enjoyed the atmosphere there, quaint and cozy. The service was A-1. I appreciate how the menu was minimal, which to me means the focus is on quality. I enjoyed my meal and will return to this establishment again. If I could change one thing it would be the twice baked potato, it kind of missed the msrk, especially paired w such delicious beef. If it were me I'd keep it as an option but use a more satisfying standard side dish, like bacon and balsamic roasted brussel sprouts. I just want to say...my husband and I are steak connoisseurs. We tried pretty much every steak house on the Gulf Coast including Florida. This is one of the best around here. The twice baked potato was also very good, and they have the best house salad. I would highly recommend this place for a date night or even an evening at home. The wine list is limited but you can call them in advance and order wine choice and they will buy it for you, if available. Very impressive! Deviled eggs appetizer was delicious. The house bread is addicting and buy a loaf on your way out!! Your family will be thankful. We ordered the scallops and a 10oz filet. Filet was cooked perfectly. The scallops were to die for. Highly recommend ordering extra blue cheese sauce for everything because it is amazing. Bananas foster was an excellent dessert choice. While camping at the nearby Davis Bayou campground I was looking for the local place to get some seafood. It was a chilly night and many other places I we're packed full and outside. I found this gem on yelp and decided to check it out. Sat at the bar or Angela was amazingly attentive and so sweet. The food was extremely well done. Sample D chargrilled oysters and then had the triple special, spotted sea trout topped with a soft shell crab with more crab on top and a beautiful sauce. First time to ever visit at the new location but this place still has the great service and amazing food that it had when it was at its previous location. The grilled Caesar salad is a fresh and delectable twist on the regular salad, compliments to the chef, whom took the time to come table side and greet us. We brought a group of 17 to Kenny Ward's last night because we were in town for a conference. The food was excellent and our server Lindsay was super. As my husband says, she was the best thing since sliced bread and peanut butter! Everyone there went out of their way to make our visit enjoyable. Every person in our group raved on the food, from the appetizers all the way to dessert, and that's unusual with a group that size. Got the ribeyes one with double baked potato one with just a big potato. Steaks were seasoned well and we're just steaks to me nothing spectacular. The potatoes are the smallest potatoes I've ever seen in a steakhouse. Our drinks were very good. I had a long island ice tea was the best I've ever had. My wife had a cosmopolitan which she loved. Ok, have to say, this is one hidden gem! We went there on a recommendation by a friend but were a little hesitant since not a lot of our friends had heard of it. Well....listen up! This is an excellent restaurant that has exceptional service (thanks Lindsay) and awesome cocktails (thanks Channon). The owner/Chef not only prepared our meal perfectly, but even checked on us to ensure we were happy with everything we ordered. I would HIGHLY recommend this little treasure to anyone. Be aware though, there are only 10 tables and a bar, so if you really want to ensure a seat, call ahead. They are now open on Wednesdays so yeah for those of us that enjoy a midweek dinner that has a great atmosphere. Thanks for making our anniversary so very special! read more
