Revisited after a year and it was just as good. Service was attentive and fast. Skewers were delivered promptly and all the items were good. We ordered some items to take home. Ambiance was busy but comfortable, will definitely be back.

Make sure to make a reservation as they can get packed at times. Food preparation is fast but our bbq came a bit dry. But overall super good tho, very tasty especially the chicken skin !!!! will definitely visit again!

We wanted to try Mongolian skewers, and this was definitely the spot to do it! The seating area is on the smaller side, with about 7-8 tables that can seat roughly 4-6 people each, so it feels cozy and lively. The menu has a huge variety of skewers -- lamb, beef, beef tendon, chicken feet, venison, chicken hearts, and more. My party was excited and basically wanted to try everything. The skewers are pretty small, but that just means you get to sample more -- I'm pretty sure we went through around 60 skewers total and I honestly enjoyed them all. Aside from the skewers, the eggplant dish and the crawfish were especially delicious, so I highly recommend ordering those too. Service was fast and helpful. You can keep ordering as you go, and the food comes out quickly, which makes the whole experience fun and easy. If you're craving skewers, you've got to check this place out -- it's a must-try!

We didnt reserve,all tables were taken but manage to get seated within 20 minutes. Theres very limited tables so reservations is recommended. Staff is of excellent service. The most authentic tasting skewers Ive tried. The best skewers restaurant in Hawaii. Its a small dining space so it can get loud.

Always my favorite spot when I'm craving skewers. They have a good variety of skewers to choose from. The corn and century egg tofu is definitely something you need to order. Food is flavorful and comes out fresh. Service is always good and a good late night spot place to hang out with friends

Khan Skewer Restaurant: A Delightful Surprise Khan Skewer Restaurant has been on my radar as a place to try. Since it was Restaurant Week, we promptly made a dinner reservation (highly suggested). While dining, I did see a walk-in party being turned away (or perhaps told to return later). It's located on Isenberg St near South King in Moiliili, fronting the St. Louis Clubhouse. Parking available in a handful of spaces fronting the restaurant or on the street. We ordered the Restaurant Week menu which was for 2-3 persons. The garlic edamame appetizer came out quickly. The deep fried chicken tenders and skewers were served atop a wooden serving tray. The 2-top table became quite crowded, with dishes arranged in puzzle-like fashion, as the server quipped. Our favorites of the evening were the chicken tenders, eggplant, and butter scallops (which were individually served as there were prepared in 3 different ways). The grand finale was the snow fluffy milk ice, which was available in lilikoi or peach flavor. Noticed a nearby table eyeing it from afar lol. Such a great way to end a meal!

We tried Khan Skewer recently and overall it was just ok for me. I wouldn't necessarily suggest it to others, but I also wouldn't mind going back if someone invited, just not a place I'd go out of my way for. Others in my party enjoyed their food more than I did. The flavors were pretty similar across most of the dishes, so nothing really stood out. The mushrooms came in a foil container with a soup/sauce that felt a bit odd. I really loved the corn, I ordered two! Dessert at the end was actually good though and a nice finish to the meal. Service was friendly and attentive, which I appreciated. Parking is small but there's street parking nearby. When we arrived there were only a few parties seated, but by the time we left the place was packed with people waiting for tables, so definitely make reservations.

I have been wanting to try here for a while, finally got to come out tonight. Super cute small place but so worth it. We waited for about 20 mins but didn't seem that long. Service was great, food didn't take to long to come out, we ordered more as we went. Everything came out cooked on skewers, the pan was warm to keep the food items warm. I loved the mushroom medley as well. I'll be back again with friends and maybe even try one of their tower alcoholic drinks, those looked good.

I always love coming here! The atmosphere is lively and fun! Food is always good. Tried the venison for the first time and it was great without and sauce. Tender and flavorful! Eggplant is always a winner with the garlic and butter. Chicken wings is another go to for us. Servers are always friendly no matter how busy they get. After eating our way through Flushing, NY last month and finding our new addiction-skewers, we've been craving them since we came back home. I've only had tried HNL skewer house but my fiance wanted to try this place. Definitely satisfied my craving, we left happy and full (but $150 poorer lol). We arrived at 5:44pm and the waitress/ hostess was like "we have a reservation at 7:30 do you think you can finish in time?" Who takes 2 hours to eat dinner but I told her of course so she sat us. They quickly brought us our dipping sauce and spice and a cute warmer tray heated by some tea candles. We ordered the pork belly, lamb, chicken gizzard,and beef tongue skewers, all were DELICIOUS. The dipping sauce was kind of like a fresh garlic and chili pepper sauce? I'm not really sure, it was sweet, refreshing and spicy all at the same time. And went perfectly with the fatty meat skewers and whatever spice mix they put on the side. We ended up asking for extra of both dips lol. For our sides we got the fried rice- big chunks of pork belly in it, yum. Scallop with vermicelli- a little too zingy for my taste and the scallops were quite small. Eggplant- juicy and garlicky! One of the best things we ordered! And the golden tofu- someone posted a picture here of skewers with the caption but it was NOT SKEWERS! Just pan fried spicy tofu... mid. Your meal also comes with a complimentary dessert- snow. Peach or passion fruit, with Frosted Flakes on top! Tasted like frozen cereal bowl lol so yummy. My only two issues were the price and the service a bit. It was fully packed and there was only one person taking orders but she forgot quite a few of our things and we had to wave her down multiple times for the same things. And prices were a little crazy too- $8-$12 for 3-5 skewers. In New York they were $1-2 each AND higher quality. Overall we'll be back but definitely only for a special occasion due to the price. ALSO!!! Make a reservation if you have a big party! The restaurant is quite small and gets busy fast.

Spent $$$ just for mediocre food that is seasoned all the same way and terrible service. Immediately upon entry, the place smelled of strong spices. Took a while to get greeted and sat. We ordered so much food (not all captured). We even had a special occasion we were celebrating. Our server asked if we'd like them to sing to the person of honor so we said yes. But she dropped off the shaved ice and left. It was pretty disappointing to be honest..

Great service at this new to me restaurant. Came to celebrate the Chinese New Year and was treated with special lai see treats. First a lai see for coming and then one for on the spot discounts (from $$ to % discounts). Staff was super friendly and assorted skewers and courses delicious! The oysters were the star of the show! I love garlic and the dishes were well seasoned with it. Great spot!

They have onsite parking but only one of the gates is open. When parking, it's tight. If you get there at opening time, you can back into a spot rather head in first since only one gate is open. Came in and ordered a few things. Skewers were okay, got a mushroom medley and green onion pancake which was flavorful and crispy.

We had a variety of skewers, eggplants, grilled squid and scallion pancakes and scallops. Our favorite was definitely the chicken cartilages. It was crunchy and fatty. Service was good despite the restaurant was super busy. We would definitely visit again. read more

Good food, good service! (The food is so good that we all forgot to take pictures lol) We enjoyed every dish that we ordered(we basically ordered everything on the menu because we are a large group, and we finished them all lol). The garlic clam with vermicelli, chicken feet, salt and pepper corn are my favorite. The real peach bowl is gigantic, fancy and tasty. They have various discounts lately which is a really good deal. I would definitely come back next time when we visit Honolulu again and recommend this restaurant to friends. read more

Everything was delicious! When we went it was pretty loud, but I'm glad people were enjoying themselves. Different than another skewer house we've been to, but both you have to be cautious. At Khan, the food is already cooked, then brought out, and set on a heating pan that is kept hot/warm by candles. Pretty cool (thumbs up emoji). On the positive side, you don't have to cook your own food and you don't smell like smoke. They have 2 seasonings, the pineapple mixture and the spices and herbs. We ordered the pork belly, jowl, and brisket. They all were good, but I liked the brisket the best! We also ordered the frog, which was one of the specials and they only had 2 left so we took the last 2. Very yummy! We also got mushrooms, zucchini, and eggplant, can't forget about the veggies. The eggplant was good, just a tad spicy, fyi. And we also got some complimentary desserts! Also, very good service! read more

My new favorite skewer place. Usually there are a few good items, but we loved everything we had here. The menu isn't overly extensive, but there are a few items in each category to satisfy everyone--chicken, chicken gizzards(yum), chicken hearts, pork belly, grilled squid, grilled eggplant (yum), intestines (yum), oysters, lobster, frog legs, corn, cilantro, chicken feet, pigs feet.....All the food is cooked in the kitchen then brought to the hot plate at your table. From tonight onward, they will serve alcohol. We got in on the last night of byob. Open daily 5-10 pm-call for a reservation since it's a small place. Free parking all around the building and on the street. Can't wait to go back! read more

This is my 4th time at Khan Skewer. We ordered Chicken cartilage, chicken skin, chicken heart, chicken gizzard and beef tongue, scallop with vermicelli. They all are SO GOOD!! We came here for a later dinner and brought some wine as they don't have their liquor license yet so it was BYOB. In hindsight, I think going at 7 or 7:30 would have been better. Khan Skewer Restaurant is located where Papa Kurt's/Agu Ramen was previously located at on Isenberg. Parking is tight there and you can park in the back if the front few stalls are taken. They have a restroom on the side of the building that they share with other tenants of the building. Decor is simple and the restaurant has a cozy feel to it. Customer service was friendly and the kitchen got our food out in a timely manner. Since it was a late dinner, we ordered a lot of items off the menu. Sorry, no pics because we were hungry and ate before I could take pics. They skewers are placed on a metal plate with candles under to keep the meat warm but not overcook it while eating. I don't recall all the items that we ordered but we loved the lamb. It was delicious and I highly recommend ordering it. The frog legs, enoki mushrooms, chicken and beef were also good. The scallop dish with rice noodles were good too but I'll stick to the meats next time. Make sure to get a bowl of rice, it'll help you eat more meat. Their sauce was tasty and a perfect compliment to the meats. Solid restaurant and I definitely want to come back. read more

Quaint and unassuming, located along side the St. Louis Crusader alumni club. Parking is a bit tight. Plan ahead to find a spot. Possibly 12 or so tables. Service was prompt and accommodating. Last night was the last offering of BYOB. Definitely curious what the alcohol offerings will be as of today. The food... oh my. Little skewers of happiness. EVERYTHING we ordered was delicious. Tiny little morsels of well seasoned, tender excitement in every bite. By the time we were done our skewer cup was overflowing and our spirits, high. Great place. WOW WOW WOW!!! I've tried all sorts of bbq/yakitori/skewers from Laotian, Filipino, Japanese, Thai satays, Malaysian but let me tell you, they have done this Mongolian skewer the AUTHENTIC WAY!! Just stumbled across this place during our family vacation here in Oahu and they are still on their soft opening for about 3 weeks. When we arrived, we were greeted right away and got a table. Their menu has varieties for every palate from beef, lamb, pork, chicken, seafood. They even served heart, intestines, jowls, abalone, shrimp, squid. Also don't forget to ask for their specials. We were so excited to dig in that we ordered about half of their menu and let me tell you, everything was SO DELICIOUS!!! Every bite you can really taste the spices and floral herbs that are infused in each cut of meat. You can order either 3 or 5 skewers of each and a few is per skewer or order. I highly advise get the 5 pc skewers of each to avoid any disappointment . At this time they don't offer any liquor as they are still waiting for their license so your can BYOB. From what we ordered (but everything was GOOD) my top 5 were: 1. Pork with enoki mushroom wrap 2. Pork with chivas 3. Pork jowl 4. Lamb 5. Beef To top off our amazing dining experience, they served us the Chinese bun with condensed milk on the house. New place in town! I love how all these northern Chinese skewer place are opening up. They are amazing if you love spicy food. I enjoy the sauce that they have. One is dry and the other wet. I think this place got really good sauces compare to Honolulu Skewer and Volcano Skewer. The service was great and currently they are doing BYOB. Their seafood is amazing. We order the scallop with noodles and it was really good!! The gizzard, lamb, beef, and pork skewers were amazing!! I love that they cook it in the kitchen and then serve it to you right away. This kind of style helps a lot with us not smelling like bbq after dinner. The reason why I took off a star was because we had enoki mushroom that was drench with sauce. It wasn't pleasant to eat drench spice on enoki...but we did have chives and it wasn't as drench as the enoki. Overall, it was great! read more

The customer service was excellent, the lady manager was so sweet and friendly. We have total 12 people and already made a reservation but there was problem that make us have to wait for a while. The lady manager came outside to apologize us up to 4 times and also invited us water while waiting which was really sweet, so we were happy to wait. When we came inside to eat, she invited us the soup and did not charge us a couple skewers of meat as an apology since she admitted that it was restaurant's fault which kinda surprised us since so far no restaurants that we have eaten invited us food for making us waiting for a long time. The food was very good, we ordered beef, beef tendons, pork, pork intestines,... All of them were so good, especially the pork intestines and beef tendon that are my favorite. Food was AMAZING! A very different dining experience than what I've had before! Especially if you like spicy food, most skewer choices can be made spicy, & its such a different spice flavor than other spicy foods I've had. The food here is so good at a pretty decent price! The ambience (or vibe) is just as good as any yakitori or skewer place, full of conversations and good energy. I also love how the servers are so friendly and open to conversations, they are quick to order and quick to bring the food out too. Super attentive. Well, the Monkeypod Kitchen Mai Tai is that "song" for me. No matter how many months pass between trips to Hawaii, it's the one thing I'm always craving. First stop after our five plus hour flight is to always sit at the bar and hum my way through a Mai Tai. We've tried competitors' Mai Tais, but Monkeypod has THE BEST Mai Tai on the island (possibly the country)! It contains a double shot of rum, so pace yourself if you're a lightweight. What makes this extraordinary is the lilikoi (passion fruit) foam on the top. It's the reason I am "passion"ately in love with this cocktail. We've eaten at a table in their main dining room, however, we really enjoy bar seating during Happy Hour, which is from 3:30pm-5:00pm, daily (except select holidays) and again from 9:00pm-11:00pm. It is first come first serve at the bar. If you prefer table seating, be sure to make a reservation. The wait can be long without one. Their Happy Hour items include all of their appetizers at half price, excluding any seafood. Cocktails are $4 off, beers $2 off, wine by the glass $3 off and the pizzas (excluding the Bourgeois) are $17.
