    Shrimp chow mein

Went to Kim's last night and was very happy with the food. With so many Chinese places closing, I've been searching for a new place and have found it. It was Super Bowl Sunday, the BEST day of the year to go out to eat, everyone is at home watching the game. Even traffic was really light. My wife and I got the bbq fried rice which was better than average, chicken and green beans (chicken was a tad salty) and shrimp chow mein. Overall it was a 4.5 star meal, rounded up to 5. We will definitely be back to explore more of the menu, especially the almond duck and egg fu young.

The burt Egg foo young. Covered up with gravy after I got it home.

I tried them for the 2nd time. I thought I would go for some egg foo young I let the man talk me into getting a combo plate. He. Should me a combo. It had shrimp, egg foo foo yoong. I thought it would be goog. They brunt t my egg foo young and covered up with the gravy. I tied to call them back but the phone was off the hook. Was to tired to go back. Very disappointed.

Love, love, love this place! Pro tip - park in the back rather than on Crenshaw Blvd, mainly because there are more spots there. This is the Chinese food that I'm most used to and it is a comfort food. The salad was great and the fried chicken even better. I always get take out since it looks like there is minimal seating in the restaurant, but that's okay. The ladies working there always seem happy and aim to please. Great place!

Got the chicken fried rice. No vegetable what so ever and chicken tastes bad. I wouldn't recommend it. Panda express serves better food.

Allegedly Black and White Mushroom Chicken. Are the multicultural mushrooms in the room with us? I don't see them.

Then of course hot and sour soup and Singapore noodles! This place delivers yet again literally and figuratively in every sense because the food came hot, fresh, delicious and I swear this filet mignon with veggies is delectable! The sauce it's in is delicious and the beef is so tender. The veggies also have just enough snap. The orange chicken is delightful as well just enough crisp (should reheat really well for one household folk like me who usually have leftovers) the sauce has just enough tang and orange element. The broccoli with oyster sauce is also delish, it was cooked to perfection with just enough snap but not too much on the stalks. It's not tough or difficult to enjoy or joins the chewing for ages club. Once again, this place is a total hit!! I just wish they had a few more items on menu but what they do--they do very very well!

That was my first mistake -- they don't even serve mu shu pork. That one's on me for not checking the menu first. I ended up getting my kung pao chicken and settled for the Mongolian beef, and veggie egg rolls. The Mongolian beef I could definitely pass on. The kung pao chicken was good at first, but somehow lost its flavor as the meal went on. The egg rolls were just okay. Nice and crispy on the outside, but too mushy on the inside for my liking. I was also pretty surprised (and a lot sad) that they didn't have hot mustard. The tea was really good though! Service was fine. The server was attentive, just clearly busy keeping up with all the takeout orders coming through. Ambience is definitely on the lower side here, so don't come expecting a nicer Chinese restaurant. It leans more Santa Ana burger joint vibes. That said, everything felt clean and they were pumping out a ton of takeout orders while we were there, so clearly they're doing something right. Overall, it just didn't hit for me, and I don't see myself coming back.

We ordered the porridge and fried donut combo, and while the porridge was good, the donut portion was small and obviously not freshly fried. While the intestine was nice and tender, the pork blood had zero flavor to it and I had to douse it in chili oil and soy sauce. We had two orders of slippery shrimp, kung pao chicken, eggplants with hot and spicy garlic sauce, juicy steamed dumplings, and pork fried rice. Overall, both restaurants in Chinatown and Pasadena provide great food quality. The ambience was cozy with dim lighting. Our round table had a wooden rotating tray. They have pictures of celebrities and politicians who've visited their restaurant. Service was relatively quick, but there was a 20-minute wait for the dumplings. Valet parking can get difficult when the lot gets full. A few cars entering the narrow driveway had to reverse out of the way to let others leave. The kung pao chicken was very tasty with a good amount of spice. I noticed that the slippery shrimp didn't taste as spicy as the portion from Pasadena. Reviews say that the spice is adjustable. Regardless. it tasted great as it came right off the pan. The pork fried rice was delicious with a savory flavor that didn't seem overpowering. I thought the juicy steamed dumplings were the weakest dish out of our whole order. There wasn't enough flavor and heat from the broth.
