Vegetable soup with the lunch special
    Monica C.

3.5 Yelp Stars*** Stopped by here for lunch during my work break and came to My Ivy Thai for a quick lunch. I arrived in the afternoon time and ordered one of their lunch specials. Honestly, the portions were super tiny for what I got as a lunch deal. It came with a small vegetable soup, a small papaya salad, and the main item: bbq chicken and rice plate. Not the best Thai food I have tried but it was decent. However, after tips and tax, the total was almost $20. I would much rather pay for an entire plate of pad thai or pad see ew for that price. Service was good since there were no other customers besides me and one other table. Super quiet place but probably because it was close to their lunch break. Probably will try their noodle plates next time!

    Pad Thai Lunch Special

Lunch special pad Thai is a steal and the flavor was very on point, not too sweet, somewhat nutty, not overly red bean forward. I love shrimp as protein and you get a lot of them! The lunch special also comes with soup. I don't know why reviews are so divided but this was solid for me. Service was quick, we were in and out in under an hour which was great for lunch. Inside is clean and not too loud. Street parking. No outdoor seating that I could see.

1.5 out of 5 This place completely misses the mark. The Tom Yum seafood was barely warm, and the Crying Tiger wasn't crying or spicy--it was dry, bland, and forgettable. More like Whimpering Cub. Despite only 4-5 tables occupied, the waitress was nowhere to be found--uninvolved, unbothered, and uninterested. As for the food: * Chu Chi Salmon - : Overcooked and underseasoned. Pass. * Thai Iced Tea - : Generic. Tastes like it came from a pre-mix bottle. * Mango Salad with Grilled Shrimp - : No balance of flavor, shrimp were dry. * Papaya Salad with Grilled Shrimp - : No heat, no crunch, no wow. * Combo Appetizer Platter - 1/2: The best of the bunch, and still just average. San Francisco has far better Thai options. I wouldn't come back even if it were free.

Chicken curry noodles soup a.k.a khao soi

It was my first time trying the chicken khao soi. While I'm not khao soi expert, I find that it's just the right level of saltiness and mildly spicy. I love the mix of the al dente noodles in the soup/curry, the crispy noodles above, and crunchy sprouts.

Finally it is open again! The food and service were both great! Our appetizers were Golden Calamari and Roti with Yellow Curry. Both were well flavored, crispy, and delicious. I also had the Tom Kha Soup with Shrimp. The coconut mixed well with kafir and galangal flavors...so balanced in flavor. Lastly, we ordered Shrimp Pad Thai. It was better than the other famous Thai Restaurant! It had abundant bean stalks, small cubed crispy tofu, onion leeks and well flavored noodles with peanuts on the side. Very well executed! Bravo! This will be our neighborhood gem!

My husband and I went to had dinner at My Ivy yesterday, and we ordered deep fried calamari # Golden Calamari,Fresh Spring Rolls also # Pad See Ew , We love all foods was excellent and service also great we highly recommend,we definitely will be back again

We spent the hours exploring the area nearby, so the "wait" went by relatively fast. When we were finally seated, the service was very prompt and fast. We started off with fried oyster mushrooms. The taste was very addicting and you always end up craving for another piece the moment you finish one. We ordered three dishes including duck breast red curry, steak fried rice (apparently the rice was also cooked in beef fat), and noodle with fried chicken. My favorite was easily the steak fried rice. In terms of all the rice dishes I've had, this was by far one of the top rice dishes I've had. I single handedly ate almost half of it myself. Extremely savory and cooked very well. For dessert, we got their famous butter kaya toast with coconut ice cream. I was already super full from the food earlier, barely had enough room for dessert, but had to force myself to take one final bite before I died in food coma. The dessert was also very tasty, but for me it was the fried rice that stole the show for that night. Overall the wait time here is horrendous, but if you are able to find something to do during the long wait period and is okay with getting a late dinner, then this place is definitely worth it. I don't think I've ever had a Thai restaurant with such unique flavor profile as this one. That being said, if you do mind the wait, then this place is not for you since the waitlist is always inevitably very long. Parking here is also terrible, so street parking is your best bet.

If you're going to do that, do add a small bit of oil, it's really spicy. The chicken was tender which was such a good blend. Their Thai Iced Tea is so good and creamy. They serve it in a huge ice ball! It was pretty cool and unique. The person who served us was very kind and welcoming. I loved his energy, I wish I got his name. I only knocked the restaurant down by a star because the servers were pretty pushy with wanting us to leave despite the multitude of empty tables around us. Besides that, the food is really delicious. The papaya salad is amazing if you like spice! There was a great kick and acidity to the papaya salad distributed throughout the fresh vegetables in the dish. I highly recommend! The pumpkin fries were also a great choice: crispy fry with soft pumpkin inside, maintaining the overall pumpkin flavor profile. The sauce they provide on the side (sweet and sour plum sauce), cut through the fry but didn't overwhelm the pumpkin itself. For myself, I got the yellow curry with chicken. The curry dishes do not come with rice, so you will have to order that on the side. The curry is not only a generous portion, but FULL of ingredients. They do not skimp on the meat, potatoes, etc. Highly recommend trying Farmhouse Kitchen for some flavorful Thai dishes!

We ate quickly and boxed the rest so they could get home. What we ordered: Tom Kha soup - coconutty, creamy, a lil sour and a lil spice. Delicious. Fresh rolls - crisp and springy with lots of greens and tofu and a good peanut sauce to dip. Crispy pork belly sweet basil - the CRISP and flavor of this pork belly was to die for. Chicken larb - this was my favorite dish of the night. Heavy basil/herbs, just a little kick from the chilies, full on flavor explosion. I will be thinking of this dish for a long time haha. Beef Pad See Ew - chewy in the most delicious and favor packed way. Love pad see ew and this one was great! Pad cha scallop - Came out sizzling on a cast iron! This dish was fun and the scallops while small, were fresh and had lots of flavor. And finally, for dessert we ordered the black rice durian. We shared a pacific omlet--not much crab, lots of shrimp, and nice swiss cheese/scallions but tasted kind of fishy--potatoes were only avg. Son said huevos rancheros were average. Price point good for SF and portions adequate to share. Location convenient so we will try dinner there tonight before a comedy show nearby. Most Yelp reviews only mention brunch but the dinner was awesome--service; food: taste/quality, presentation, portions, prices we phenomenally low for SF ($200 with a bottle of wine for 4 people). We started with the garlic butter clams-small but tasty. Tuna tartar was excellent quality and enough to share. Samosas were more like empanadas--very good with peanut sauce so good it rivaled my own home made. We continued our culinary adventure with crab fried rice-delicious, a large portion and my son who lives in SF and has tried dozens of crab fried rice ranked it in the top tier. The pacific catch rice noodles with crab was also excellent-big portion, lots of crab, tasty. Final entree was their specialty-Mussaman Curry. Wow, tender meat/potatoe "stew" with a very unique flavor from the star anise/cinnamon and peanut--to die for. Creme Brulee was very good with lots of fresh fruit accompaniment My only complaint was a very limited wine selection. Lapisaia will become one of our regular spots for dinner!!!

We would've expected the pork to be sliced maybe in half or fourths to make the dish feel like a "pork fried rice" than a fried rice + pork mix, but it still worked well and if you love pork, this will definitely be your fix! 5/5 - Pad Thai - We thought the restaurant nailed this classic noodle dish.
