SERVICE // I genuinely had high hopes for this little cafe. However, I was pretty disappointed with my visit, both service and food. I came around 1:15 with a friend. When we place our order at the cash register, the cashier asked whether we wanted it to go or for in. When I said we'd be eating and tables, she asked if we would be leaving soon since they close in at 3.. Like what? That's pretty rude to tell a customer while they're ordering. We weren't even planning on staying for that long since we just ordered a coffee and coffee cake to share. FOOD // we decided to order the coffee cake to share between us. It wasn't warmed and was very dry. The texture was pretty crumby and not tasty. Even though it was in the afternoon, I still think it should be of better quality, sorry, but I've had better. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. Just rude and annoyed-looking. Jeez lady, if you hate your job and patrons so much why even work there? Zero welcome unless you consider an cold-ass look a greeting, then, no prices on anything and when we ask we get the huff and eye roll. VERY classy. They can keep the one star because the couple things I've had from here in the past are ok, OVERPRICED FOR SURE, but decent product. Walked out empty handed today which is a bummer because we were really craving something flaky but based on their apparent contempt of our patronage we will never return. read more

I've been trying to explore the city a bit more and stumbled upon this cute little coffee shop. My gf and I ordered a cold brew, iced latte and a coffee cake. The drinks were pretty good, it wasn't extremely bitter or watered down. The coffee cake was soft, moist and perfectly sweet. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone in the area! read more

Stopped in for brunch on our way to Beachlife Fest this past weekend. Nice little gem of a bakery tucked in the corner of a small strip mall about 2 miles from the beach. Damn..it smells great inside. Delicious breads, we had avocado toast and a capresse/pesto sandwich, both very good. Iced Coffee and tea, good as well. The bakery serves tasteless coffee, and it's never open during regular hours of business. If the pastries were even above average, I would be willing to overlook that they're never open but cannot. Parking's a nightmare like its owner. read more

This place is a hidden treasure for me. I love the crust. The baguettes are amazingly crunchy on the outside and so soft and good inside, it's not like other typical American bakeries. The baguettes, croissants, and even donuts are all beautiful and delicious. The brunch menu is also very good, and the employees are kind. read more

Love Love Love Krust. All items are simple and restrained, just like the humble setting. Avocado toast is the best. Bakery items are delicious, but haven't tried the croissants . I always go for one of their other items that are seasonal or an item you can't get at Starbucks or other chains. Noticed an egg sandwich posted recently that haven't seen before - will def try that . However, their breakfast pie is delish and unique. Wonder if the sandwich is taking its place. Krust has nailed it. The little bakery that could, does it 5 days a week. They are so friendly and attentive, their menu is always interesting. Their ingredients are sooo fresh - I just at a croissant sandwich and the tomatoes and avocado and arugula were soooo good. Plus, their loaves of bread keep for like a week in the fridge and still toast beautifully - so if you want to gift someone some delicious bread, Krust is the place to go. Love you guys! read more

Turkey croissant sandwich was pretty good but not amazing. The chocolate nutella croissant on the other hand was incredible!

Come early as what you see is what they have. Quiche was very good. My 17 year old even like his quiche. Croissants and coffee were very tasty. Definitely will go with the larger cup of coffee, it was very good. But going into a new place and not knowing if the coffee is good or not when with the small. read more

This place is really great! Can't wait to come back to try more of the bakery items! Had a ham & cheese breakfast roll! It was wonderful! I usually don't eat ham, but this ham reminded of prosciutto. She was very friendly, however, to her other "regular?" patrons.:/ Nice visit but not a desired destination. I'd like to take a picture of the 2 delicious pieces of pastry I picked up for our dessert tonight, but not a crumb remains! The 4-layer chocolate mousse cake had alternating layers of perfectly light yet rich chocolate mousse and moist chocolate cake. The thin layer of cocoa powder on top really deepened the chocolate flavor. The piece was rectangular and looked like it belonged in a magazine - think Paris patisserie. The apple pie was visually beautiful, obviously not your typical bakery apple pie. And, the place's name made me want to try out their 'Krust'. Our piece was delicious, shortbread-esque with sugar crystals dusting the top. Perfectly baked tart/sweet apples (maybe a touch of citrus in there?) spilling out of the center. If I ever need a whole homemade apple pie ASAP, this will be my go-to place!! The 2 pieces were around $7., total. The owner helped me with my purchase & was absolutely lovely. I deliberated over writing this place yet another five-star review, thinking, "Does it really need another one?" But of course it does, so here I am. Try anything--it's all delicious, and the service is just the absolute best. My daughter got some multi-grain loaf thing that was probably way too healthy for my taste buds to enjoy, and the pastry chef took it to the back and put it on a plate with myriad toppings to slather it with. My daughter was so happy. My son selected a muffin, and promptly announced that it was delicious on the first bite, and I believed him. It looked incredible. Finally, my fiance and I both got a ham and cheese roll each, and I swear it was the best ham-and-cheese anything I'd ever put in my mouth. It was light and fluffy without tasting like more air than pastry, and it had just the right cheese:ham:bread ratio. My taste buds were highly pleased with my decision. I seriously considered buying another one (though ultimately will won out). I'm not a coffee person, so I didn't get any and can't speak to it, but they have orange juice and water available, so that's what we had. The atmosphere in the shop is light and cozy at the same time, and you can stop and sit and enjoy your pastries, like we did, but this is really more of an in-and-out kind of place, designed to grab your stuff on the run. These pastries would be ideal for corporate breakfasts, but you'd have to place an order in advance to ensure they'd have enough on hand. What a wonderful find. We noticed krust while driving by on the PCH, and stopped in to find a very bright, yet cozy bakery. The baked goods were fantastic. I especially enjoyed the savory stuffed bread (it had ricotta, chicken and rosemary) as well as the cookies of the day. We also had excellent cappuccinos. The proprietor/baker was very welcoming. I drive pass this plaza several times a week, and I finally stopped by to try it last week. I got a bacon chive scone and an iced coffee. The scone was delicious. It was super flavorful and very buttery. I love savory scones, and this guy definitely hit the spot. 4 stars for the scone. The cold brew coffee was disappointing. It was super watered down and bland. The cold brew across the street at Phanny's is WAY better. I will definitely not be getting coffee here again. Service was great. Despite my extreme laziness, I'm writing a review for this coffee shop/bakery because it totally deserves every single one of the five stars I'm leaving it. I had my reservations about this place when I parked the car because it was hidden in the corner of a random strip mall in redondo beach. I am SO glad that I didn't turn around and leave because everything about this place is delightful. My party ordered an americano, cappuccino, and vanilla latte, along with a bacon and chive scone, pecan bar, and coffee cake. It was sooooo difficult to make our choices with the pastries because everything looked sooo delicious. We drank every single drop of the coffee and enjoyed every single bit of it. The only mishap was that I had ordered a vanilla latte and they forgot the vanilla. The pastries were equally nommy! I expected the coffee cake to be dense, but it was super light with the perfect punch of coffee flavor. The pecan bar and scone were also very good! I can't wait to go back and try the other pastries!! All of the pastries are made in house according to the person who I believe is the owner of this shop. The employees were so cute and sweet... although, when there was a flurry of customers, they did appear a bit flustered. Still, not much to complain about here. I will surely be back, and encourage everyone to keep supporting this neighborhood gem. read more

I am sorry to have to leave this review but it's the truth. I was in search of bakery to bake my wife a birthday cake. I found "Krust" in redondo from searching on safari . The place was clean, the lady who helped me was very nice. I needed a cake for 20 people , she only could make a cake for 10 so I bought two cakes,$90 total. I asked for one chocolate and strawberry and one vanilla and strawberry , very simple. She said ok no problem. When we cut into the cake neither one was strawberry, just plan vanilla . After I told everyone what I thought we were having, strawberry , which is what my wife asked for. I apologize for writing this but that's not right. $90 down the drain. read more

I am so happy to have found this cute little cafe! The ambiance was very nice and the staff was incredibly friendly. I ordered their hot latte and moscato yuzu--both really good! If you're not a coffee person, I really recommend their moscato yuzu, it's very unique and not too sweet. The latte was perfect for the gloomy weather. I also ordered their quiche which was surprisingly very yummy! Not salty, or overwhelming--very light and flavorful. And I ordered their banana bread which was also delicious as well. Soon so good. Went this morning for coffee and treats. The coffee is decent, nothing fancy. If you want fancy coffee you need to go to a coffee shop. The pastries are what you need to go there for. A new go-to favorite for breakfast. We took it to go. Everything was fantastic. We had the Menemen which was really delicious. Great flavor. I'm sure it's much better there since our egg was slightly over cooked during the drive home. The Quiche Lorraine was also amazing. I'm still thinking about it while I'm writing this. It was a big thick slice of bacon, egg and cheese. Yummy. And the kids got the Belgian waffles. The mascarpone was a nice touch.
