I really like it, the price , well for me, because I'm a student, it's kind of pricey for me, but it's pretty good deal because i think it's worth with the taste of the sushi. It's a fine place to get a good, quick lunch to satisfy your sushi fix. They're well priced and fill you up. However, I find that on more than one occasion I've been over charged for my food which would cause some stir while I was paying my check. I've been coming here for years. Food and service are consistently good. The restaurant unfortunately doesn't feel very clean. That being said, I usually order the Chirashi bowl or the sushi roll lunch combo. I've never gotten sick and the place is always packed with people form WB and Disney. Oh WOW! I just paid $8.99 plus tax for the scariest sushi EVER! The fish wasn't fresh, it was dull and flat looking and smelled! The portions were incredibly small as well. I walked over here after a loooong day at work and got in when it was quiet and only a few people were there (hint: go when the place is almost empty, sit at the bar). Yes, maybe the hostess doesn't speak much English, but the sushi-chefs do, and they are awesome! Service was very friendly and swift. My party of two arrived at 5:30 pm on a Saturday and the place was half full. The salmon sushi was paltry for the price. I'm used to thicker cuts. The fake crabmeat mix in the spider roll was a buzz kill. The toasted rice tea was yummy. The crowd seemed working class. I wouldn't suggest this place for a date. Our new sushi spot! Have been coming here for a month and have had wonderful experiences each time. A true 'locals' spot, family owned and operated, with a focus on freshness and originality. The chefs are amazing, the prices are extremely fair, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Ignore the strip mall exterior and step inside, it's a whole different world! Recommend the salmon with truffle oil (house specialty) and just about everything else (salmon belly.. Must have more salmon belly..) In Southern California, your chances of finding an awesome sushi spot in an otherwise run-of-the-mill strip mall are pretty good, and Kuru-Kuru is a fine example. Their mixed sushi dinner is my happy place, well executed with excellently seasoned nigiri that always melts in my mouth. Be sure to check out the specials posted above the sushi bar; there's always something interesting to try, well complemented by anything in the assortment of numbered "K" rolls which aren't printed on the menu. It's a little pricey and definitely not a romantic spot - it's shoehorned into a tiny storefront and always crowded, especially if the Lakers are playing. But it's definitely a fun and sociable dinner spot with talented chefs and attentive staff that keep us coming back. read more

Me and my wife came here to try something new and glad we came here. Their sushi is super fresh. The rolls were not too heavy and drenched in sauce so you could truly taste the freshness. Felt it was slightly overpriced for quality of sushi. The rice was hard and not soft and sticky like sushi rice should be so it kept falling apart in soy sauce. Kuru Kuru can sometimes be a little hit or miss, however, it is my go-to take out sushi on a Friday or Saturday night. Other nights of the week I've found the sushi isn't as fresh or possibly the chef isn't as good. I've never been for lunch. I enjoy the crispy rice, Cali & rainbow rolls most! read more
