This seems to be a favorite spot in Houston. We found this place on Yelp and wanted a nice dinner for just the two of us. First free valet made it so much easy to just get dropped at the front and enjoy our dinner. We didn't have a reservation but they were able to accommodate us on the list. We waited at the bar and had a some drinks and enjoyed their local oysters. They were fresh and delicious. Diego our bartender was very helpful and friendly with great conversation. We made it to the dining area and was greeted with our very friend server who also helped us with our meal selections. We went with their specialty: fried chicken. It was very crispy yet the meat was very tender. We enjoyed the various dipping sauces which were all very different but very tasty. We also had some grilled shrimp and collard greens. They were both okay. A little over seasoned for my liking but good. I loved the biscuits that came with the chicken. They were amazing. Fluffy and buttery. The place is great for date nights or hanging out with a group of friends. Pretty smart casual with plenty of seating.
Heard about this place on IG and I am so glad I stopped in. I narrowly missed happy hour but the pricing wasn't too bad at all. I sat at the bar but there is a full dining room and a gorgeous patio. The whole restaurant is really lush with a classic luxury coastal vibe. My bartender was super nice and since I was not crazy hungry, I kept it simple and got deviled eggs and the biscuits. The biscuits were AMAZING! 10/10 would recommend for sure. I liked the deviled eggs as well. This place is big on raw oysters so it does have a faint fishy smell but not overwhelming. Everything was very clean and especially the restrooms which I always check for. I do not remember the drink I had but it was super light and refreshing but a bit tart for my taste but got the job done. I enjoyed my girl dinner and every one that checked in on me was very nice. Will be back for the full dinner menu for sure!
One of my favorite casual dining spots in Houston. Amazing gulf oysters, and the absolute best biscuits and jam I've ever had. The fried shrimp is also great and my fiance and I love the crispy shrimp tacos. They are Jack-in-the-Box inspired and are an incredible elevated version Complimentary valet shared with their sister restaurant Star Rover. We will definitely be returning
Was excited to try, heard it's one of the top go to's in HOU. The service was great, made reservations and were seated immediately. It's busy but not too loud so was able to hold a conversation easily. The problem for me was the food. So disappointing!! The greens were bland The chicken was well seasoned but dry The gumbo was heavy on hot sauce and salty The best part were the oysters we had both char boiled and fresh Felt like this place was more hype than anything. Don't think I'd give this another try
Came and left a happy camper for happy hour! Made resy ahead of time and got seated right away. Happy hour is till 6pm and select oysters are $1.50/each. Started with a dozen and we figured out that we liked the Matagorda Pearls the most, so ordered another dozen of those. They were pretty fresh and some large. Also got the Red Fish on half shell (pecan brown butter paired nicely with the fish and tender/flavorful) and the Grilled Octopus (had a little hint of spice from the jalapeños and cabbage was a nice little veggie side). For a drink, I got a classic margarita with reposado and tajin on the rim (strong, but delish). Parking - They have their own lot, but valet Overall good hh oyster deal!
I love this place. Their food is always on point. We have tried almost everything on the menu. They have seasonal items, which are always a treat. Here are some of the items I recommend: What we start with: Crispy shrimp tacos 10/10 - my favorite! I get these every time I go. They are outstanding. Deviled eggs - 9/10 - yummy Shrimp and Pork dumplings - 10/10 - these are spicy, but so good. Octopus - 9/10 - great! We share: Fried chicken - 10/10 - they have one of the best fried chicken. Get this. Blackened snapper collards - 7/10 - good, but was missing something. Not as flavorful as I would like. Pharmacy burger - 8/10 - really good, but it falls apart, don't remove the paper that it's wrapped in. Sides - get the fries! The smoked oyster mayo is amazing. Service can be a hit or miss, sometimes they are really good and sometimes they take forever. The ambiance is nice - it has a really cool, modern, woodsy feel to it.
My one regret from my time here is that I was so caught up in the experience that I didn't take more pictures! I hadn't heard of this restaurant until I came here with a group and I'm so glad I did! The interior is bustling and the space is used impressively, appearing full but not over crowded. The decor is charming and eclectic and classy. Our waiter was amazing and very attentive! His recommendations were spot on and he tailored them for our tastes. His recommendation for a sweeter cocktail was so nice and he even checked in afterwards. The oysters were so good and fresh, both the raw and cooked. I also loved the tacos! They were a bit spicy, with a crispy shell and luscious filling. Need to come again soon!
Don't sleep on La Lucha. Never, and I mean never had I had a bad anything here. All my friends I bring here end up happy and beyond satisfied. From the service to the look and feel of the restaurant. La Lucha is lively and lovely. The waitstaff are all friendly, attentive and upbeat which is really nice. You will see people on their first date, date night for other couples, friends catching up, families celebrating. La Lucha has it all. Small menu filled with their greatest hits. Yes, you must have the fried chicken with all three sauces (it lives up to the hype) and the oysters (raw or baked). You must have the fries with aioli sauce. The fried tacos are a dream. The asparagus is life changing. Cocktails are very good as well as the La Lucha frozen margarita. I love to come to La Lucha, it's where happiness lives. Go! The vibes are here. Parking is valet only.
My first time at La Lucha was at the bar area. I really liked the vibe and moody lighting of the area. The restaurant is decorated in vintage artwork that was fun to look at. We started off with different types of oysters from the east coast. One of the best oysters I've tasted, very unique and briny flavors, but a little pricey! Then we got fried chicken which we requested with three sauces. The sauces were fun and all paired well with the chicken. We also ordered the LA crawfish bread but the crawfish flavor wasn't very strong. I like how they rotate their menu so there's something different every time. It was my friend's birthday and our bartender was kind enough to give us ice cream and give us free Polaroids!
Went to try the fried chicken, and it did not disappoint. The chicken was hot, crispy, and juicy! I added hot sauce to it because why not! I tried the avocado sauce which had a cumin taste it. Not bad! I absolutely hate biscuits, and I LOVED theirs! They were delicious, and so was the jelly with it. I also ordered deviled eggs to start. There were 3 to the order, and I was hoping for more. They were topped with fried shrimp, so they were actually filling. Very good starter. Next time I will get there early for some happy hour oysters. Parking is a bit tough, so be patient with that. The restaurant and patio seating had a great vibe to it. I could definitely see it as a place to hang out for cocktails. Speaking of cocktails, a lady at the bar had a vibrant in color hibiscus Mezcal margarita. She said they are amazing! I ate at the bar and the bar tenders were prompt, courteous, and helped with recommendations. It's on the pricy side, but good value overall.
The first time I came here, I'm sad to say was two years ago with some friends that lived in the neighborhood, and I'd yet to make it back since then. This place to me is all it was the first time and more and I need to make this a regular stop! We came out for dinner to celebrate a friend and made a reservation online. As I pulled into the parking lot, valet is available, which is nice when it's dark out to not have to look for parking. Up on entering La Lucha, I love love love how warm and cozy the place feels. I was greeted immediately with the two hosts, that had great smiles, and a delight. I let them know I was early and would grab a bevvy at the bar while I waited for the rest of my party. The bar was packed! Rightfully so! They have a great collection of all the things, this night I was in the mood for an old fashioned. I wasn't sure which whiskey I wanted to go with and one of the servers quickly made a suggestion and said I couldn't go wrong, and he was right! Went with a Bulleit for the selection. The bartender took time and care to make the bevvy, she was super sweet, and the barstaff really seemed to have a great flow all together. I saw a little flame come from a lighter and the orange, and as she set it in front of me, you could smell the citrus flavors of the beverage! It was smooth and light. A little sweeter than I am used to, but still great for a cold night! Right as I took my first sip, my party arrived!! We were seated not too long after they arrived in a nice cozy corner of the restaurant. I think I love most about this place is I didn't feel like we were in a restaurant. The noise level was quiet, the music was great, and I just felt like we were in our own little bubble! The great thing about La Lucha is the family style eating you can do. Everything can be shared, and everything we shared!! We started off ordering the Whole Fried Chicken because we knew it would take a while to cook. From there we ordered what felt like the whole menu! -Oysters -Chowder Fries -Dumplings -RedFish -Whole Fried Chicken w/extra biscuit -Brussels Everything was brought out as it was made, which is one thing I love most about this place. Nothing gets cold or hot while waiting for something else, and that means, there is always something new on the table every 5-7 minutes! Everything was wonderful. And lastly, the service! Chris, our server, was wonderful. Great at making recommendations, attentive, and gave us enough space to enjoy our meal and chat, while also being close enough to be attentive to our party. All in All 5 out of 5, will be coming back, and not waiting 2 years to do so!
La Lucha is officially on my "take everyone who visits me" list. We came for happy hour and everything was so good! The drinks were great, strong, and well-balanced. But the real star for me? The deviled eggs topped with shrimp. So good. I would order those again without hesitation. They also had a few different types of oysters available, which I appreciated because it gave options depending on your preference. I tried them since they were very decently priced during happy hour. Oysters are not usually my favorite, but my friend absolutely loved them so if you are an oyster person, you will be happy here. My friend and I split the chicken platter with a side of biscuits, and it was perfect for sharing. I loved that you can choose between two different sauces for the chicken, which made it feel a little customizable. The chicken was crispy and flavorful, and the biscuits were incredible: fluffy, buttery, and completely worth it. We sat at the bar, which made the experience even better. The service was great, the staff was attentive, and the overall energy felt lively but comfortable. And they have purse hooks at the bar, which I personally love and deeply appreciate. I cannot wait to go back to La Lucha. It is a great happy hour spot, and I already plan to bring friends the next time they come to visit. Super good food, great drinks, great service.
I recently came here with friends to celebrate a special occasion and it has been on my list for a while (specifically for the fried chicken!) so I was super excited to come here. We arrived a little earlier than our reservation, so we waited at the bar and some in our group ordered cocktails to start the night. We were seated promptly at our reservation time and our server, Chris, was super friendly from the get-go. For some of us first-timers, we were quite inquisitive about various items on the menu, and Chris welcomed any and all questions. Great service! For food, our group put in our order the whole fried chicken first since this takes a bit longer to come out. We started out with the Shrimp & Pork Dumplings and the Blue Crab Chowder Fries. The dumplings were very flavorful and I liked the chili crisp that was spread throughout. The fries...how has anyone not thought of loading fries with clam chowder until this!? This was a fantastic combination and even though the chowder came on the side, we poured it all over the fries to enjoy. Next our order of raw oysters came out. These are gulf oysters, so not the best (or biggest) from others I've had, but the taste was on point. Since these don't come in a half-dozen or dozen, we ordered just enough so that each person in our group could try one of each oyster between two different types we agreed upon from the menu. The whole chicken came out, which was my favorite. It came out as about 12 pieces with 3 dipping sauces: a cilantro-based sauce, a mayonnaise-based sauce, and a spicy honey. My favorite of these was the cilantro-based one because of the contrast it provided to the fried chicken. The fried chicken itself was extremely crispy on the outside, very moist with plenty of juice on the inside. I was a bit skeptical at $45 for a chicken knowing that I can get a way better deal at Popeye's, but this definitely gives them a run of their money. Would totally order again. We also ordered the Redfish on the Half Shell and the brussels sprouts side. The redfish was very flavorful and I liked the pecan brown butter it was glazed with. The "half shell" is actually just half of its (cooked) skin. While the fish is bone-in and one side of the skin is still on, it was still easy to get the meat out of it. The brussels sprouts had good flavor to them but I just wish they were flash-fried for that extra crispiness. To drink, I got the You're Welcome, which is their version of a Manhattan. It was definitely boozy and the combination of bourbon and rye made for a good mixed drink. While the menu is somewhat small and I feel like we tried the highlights, I would come back to try other items like the Tuna Tostada, Vietnamese Sticky Wings, and the Pharmacy Burger. Chris gave us great service throughout the night and even came outside to offer taking a group picture for us.

La Lucha has been on my radar for a minute and I finally made it!! Let me get straight to the point, the fried chicken deserves all the hype!! I typically don't go for chicken and waffles but our nice waiter Omar, really sold me on it and I'm glad he did. The homemade syrup is so so good, it has an almost caramel taste to it. The waffles were just right and the chicken; crispy, seasoned and cooked to perfection. All of the flavors complimented each other so nicely. No oysters for me on this trip but everyone seemed to be enjoying them, so I'll have to check them out on my next visit. All in all, great food, great service and great vibe, I can't wait to return!! read more
We stopped by La Lucha for lunch today and had one of most maddening experiences ever. First let's talk about the restaurant and food. La Lucha is nicely decorated. It is like being in someone's southern dining room for dinner. It is southern traditional food and so stinking good. We ordered the shoestring fries that were crisp and perfectly salted. The crunch was spot on. We ordered the daily special, three fried chicken sliders with biscuits. The chicken was coated in butter and honey. The chicken was very good but the biscuits stole the show. FABULOUS! Our final dish was the three deep fried shrimp tacos with cheese and chili sauce. I had never had these previously, and now that I have, I will be back for more. They had a bit of a kick and a surprising new taste. A very good meal. Now for the disturbing part. We were seated across from six 20 somethings that come from privilege. Their parents obviously gave them the exposure to expensive things but completely thought that is where their responsibility ended. Seated in the table next to them was a family of three with a husband, a wife and a 10 year old daughter enjoying a nice afternoon lunch. The language from one of the lulu lemon clad females would make a crusty sailor blush. She was loud, vulgar and obviously self absorbed. Her parents did a marvelous job raising an arrogant snot. Four letter words, shouting and several rounds of shots later, I had had enough. The family of 3 had their daughter put on their head phone and were not pleased with the soundings. Our male waiter with a ponytail was constantly being belittled by the loud mouth female. I told the waiter that her language and mouth was unacceptable and needed to be addressed. The manager came by and spoke with us, offered to move us and I pointed out the family of three. The manager ended up comping our meal and the family of 3. He approached the loud mouthed and vulgar table of six as they were leaving. The restaurant was in a no- win situation, piss off the nasty 6 and get slammed on social media or do the right thing and confront the jerks. In the parking lot these 20 something spoiled jerks climbed into Range Rovers, Mercedes, and a BMW. One of the males was driving a car dealer tagged Rover, daddy should have taught manners rather than give him money. The manager, Marlin, took a bad situation and tried his best to make it better, obviously not perfect, but we were so proud of the way Marlin handled it. This is the type of restaurant I personally want to support. If I could of gotten the dealers name off the tag, I would of loved to call his dad and tell what a wonderful job he did raising a brat. In closing, dining is more than food and drink. When someone, like Marlin makes a stand, you realize this place has the right people in the right place. Keep serving delicious food! read more

I came here for the fried chicken, which seemed like a popular item in this restaurant. The chicken I got was fresh and light, but the breading was overdone and bland. I never thought fried chicken could be too crispy, but it was. I started taking off some of the skin like I'm eating something in a shell. I also tried the fried shrimp, which again had bland breading. I like the many sauces that came with the food, the biscuits were pretty good, and the service was a little slow but good overall. The interior design and ambiance is also great especially for a quiet dinner, but food wise, it was edible but not enjoyable. read more

First and foremost the ambience was wonderful. We went in the evening and the dim lighting, candles on the table, backlit bar and everything was a genuine vibe. Next our server was wonderful, asked if we had ever been there and explained the restaurant. Family style dining, everything comes out as the food is ready and it is intended to be shared. Of course you can just order a plate for yourself, but that's the way it is meant to be experienced. We were more than happy to try it together. The server ( I wish I got his name, but my family was speaking over each other) also took special notice of food allergies or dietary restrictions prior to leaving us a minute to peruse the menu. We were a group of 4, and settled in the Gumbo, Snapper, Farm Salad and a side of Mac and Cheese. Everything was absolutely delicious. If you're sensitive to spice then the Gumbo and Mac and Cheese might presebt a problem for you as they were true to the Cajun spices. The farm salad had a tart, salty and sweet component I am partial to gorgonzola and pear and this salad had both. The Snapper is the only thing I didn't get a picture of in the end, but it too was tasty, and well cooked. If you dislike "boning" or having to break down the meat, then you make struggle based on how it's served but I think it would still be worth it. The dessert was a little lack luster as the only option was ice-cream with your choice of toppings, or a float. I'm not a sweets person so that was not a big deal to me, but it could be for some. The bill comes with a real post card that you can address and the restaurant will send off. I chose to mail mine to a friend who is visiting as a sneak peek of a place I may take her! Overall great experience. The one thing that was hard was we were sat at a table that was a bit of struggle for family style dining and a family of 4. read more

We were in the area and stopped by for lunch a couple weekends ago. The place is really cute and the food was delicious. We were able to make a reservation on OpenTable 30 minutes before we arrived which was nice because it was crowded during brunch. Our waitress was really nice and explained the concept (the food comes out as its ready) and menu to us since it was our first time. Brownie points because they have a pretty long oyster happy hour - even on the weekends! We had... blue crab chowder fries - perfectly cooked and seasoned fries (my favorite food group!) with delicious chowder. deviled eggs - delicious! blackened snapper collars - very flavorful. You'll need a side item to go with this because it wasn't very filling. the pharmacy burger - the first one came out cold but they quickly made another and it was delicious. We'll be back to try more of the menu! Hopefully they add crawfish dishes now that they are in season. read more

Oh my!!!!! We made reservations for brunch prior to the theatre (Cinderella) The food was absolutely outstanding, we tried quite a few menu items as we just could not make up our minds! Started with the delicious dumplings, and I would like to suggest that the dipping sauce should be bottled and sold! It was astounding! The dumplings were melt in your mouth tender! The dipping sauce was spicy and just delectable, but my 5 year old niece was putting that sauce on everything! We were even dipping our fries in it! Then we had the Parmasean garlic oysters those things didn't last but a few minutes. We had some raw oyster's they were sweet and little briney and the mignonette was also amazing, I ended up ordering more of those! One of us had the brunch(breakfast) hash she said it melted in her mouth! We ordered the chicken and biscuits for the 5 year old, she loved her food and tried all of ours! The last order was the fried chicken of course and everything including our cocktails were yummy. Ambiance was a whole vibe and we loved it! Nice brunch without the stuffy vibe! Service was amazing attentive and on point! The GM Michael "Team" Johnson stopped by our table several times! The service was good and the food is delicious. I've heard many good things about this place and I'm glad that I decided to try it out. I can never turn down a good oyster deal and they have $1.50 oysters during happy hour. I tried the Triple X and the Point Au Pin oysters and they were not super briny but still buttery and mild in flavor. I also got the grilled snapper collars. I've never seen an item like this on any menu and decided to give it a try, I was not disappointed. They come in three large pieces, topped with a chunky chimichurri sauce and with a grilled lemon half. I was recommended to squeeze the lemon on top and it definitely brought a nice brightness to the dish. I also added some Crystal hot sauce that came with the oysters and that made it over the top. Lots of reviews recommended this dish and its too unique and delicious not to try and it's definitely able to be shared. They also have a great selection of cocktails to have, I did not indulge this time. read more
I finally made it over to La Lucha for dinner as I like their sister restaurant, Superica. The ambiance and backstory behind the restaurant creates a cozy vibe. I love that family style is encouraged here. I was impressed off the bat when our server, Leslie, was knowledgeable of the menu. She gave an in depth overview when I asked for recommendations. My top 3 dishes were the Himachi (not pictured), the shrimp tacos, and the shrimp and pork dumplings (not pictured). The blackened snapper was also a great dish, just a little difficult to get off of the bone. For drink I had the Lucha margarita and it was phenomenal. The hint of mezcal made the drink. Overall I had a great experience and would recommend to a friend! read more

La lucha has been one of the most hyped restaurants inside the loop and I've been looking to go there for over a year. It was a birthday and we decided on here as a date night on a weekday. Reservations were required but easily made online. Parking can be interesting, we opted not to go valet and found street side parking. We sat outside and the restaurant was pretty busy. We pretty much ordered half the menu and all of the heavy hitters Apps Raw oyster sampler Crawfish bread Fries with oyster sauce? Vietnamese style chicken wings Charboiled oysters Main Fried chicken Drink Coconut rum style drink The apps were mostly decent; however you are paying a lot for very little. The raw oysters were fine, nothing really crazy special at $2-3 a pop. The crawfish bread was a little burned on the bottom and was a carb hell. The fries were not anything special. The vietnamese wings very extremely salty and on the small side. The chicken was actually the best thing here, tasting like what KFC was like in the 1990's. Ambiance is pretty good inside and outdoor seating in their enclosed space is cozy. Overall, the flavor profiles were a little bit of a letdown. Portion size honestly sucks for a restaurant that proclaims dishes to be "family style". (Most dishes couldn't be split between more than 2 people lol). If you go, I'd just recommend getting the fried chicken and maybe charboiled oysters as I felt everything else was a little bit of a hipster overreaction to try to fit into being a cool Heights restaurant. My date was actually pretty disappointed in the meal for how much they have heard about it from others and I would have to agree as well. read more
When I'm craving oysters, this is my go to place ! Service is always friendly & oysters always fresh! If you haven't been here before they have a rotating oyster special for $1.50/ea. we usually get a dozen of each on special. Pair it with some drinks & bites! The fries are a must! Chicken and waffles too! This time we picked the breakfast hash from the daily specials menu. I'm not really a tequila person, but this place got me hooked on mezcal! I love that Smokiness of the mezcal! I believe it has hibiscus as well! When the weather is nice, their patio is perfect! There is valet parking and a lot across the street as well for parking. I loved the atmosphere here. This is a great place for date night, friends just wanting to catch up or a celebration. The food was really good and my drink was amazing. Came here right as they opened on a Sunday, and I must say that the service is amazing. Our waiter was very attentive and communicative, and made sure that we had everything that we needed. We got chicken, wood roasted gulf oysters, voodoo gumbo, and their raw oysters. The chicken was really good, and their dipping sauces were unique and tasty. The serving was great too. Their roasted gulf oysters and raw oysters are very tasty as well, definitely worth the emphasis of their restaurant. Love the gumbo too! So.. yeah.. I basically loved everything that I ordered. One great thing about this restaurant too is how seriously they take COVID and social distancing. I really appreciated the cleanliness, and I definitely felt safe during my visit. I really loved this place. It is kind of tucked away, so when you pull into the Superica parking lot, don't freak out. The staff is excellent. We split the chicken and shrimp.... OMG, it's like my mom's. My husband loved the happy hour oysters. The collard greens with kimchi was a nice touch on the side. I cannot wait to return. read more

Out of the airport and looking for a place to eat. Stumbled on this place chicken and oyster sounded interesting. Key was outdoor dining. Patio was nice under a big tree with good lighting and enough heat lamps for a chilly night. Happy hour open till 6 $1.50/ea oysters two types $2 lone star beer Down south they eat oysters with crackers, now I know where oyster crackers came from. Oysters compare to the coast to me is always more meaty down here. Except these were more petite in size. Nice variety of mignonette horseradish hot sauce to chase. There was quite a few items that was enticing. Ended up trying the pollo, wood grilled oysters and boudin with fries. Wood grilled oyster was good with jalapeño and Parmesan garlic. Sauce is good, but took the oyster flavor away. I prefer the freshness of the oyster over sauce. Boudin shrimp with crawfish and kimichi aioli in a sausage casting, sounded interesting, but it was off, maybe it wasn't hot enough given we were sitting outside, but probably wish I tried the blue crab chowder or the gumbo instead. Pollo this was the best part of the dinner. I'm always a fan of fried chicken, but these were some damn good chicken moist and tender w/light batter. I've never ate such a moist breast (tsk tsk). Juicy truly finger licking good. Comes half or full bird. Waiter was telling us they brine it for 12 hours and fried fresh to table. Fries yes it tasted like upscale McDonald's fires with herbs . I'm always a McDonald's fries fan, so no complains here. Desert menu was simple soft serve with seasonal flavors and condiments. Eggnog and peppermint mocha swirl with salty crumble. I visited La Lucha for dinner a couple of weeks ago to catch up with a friend. It was a busy weeknight and the area was full of parked cars as there are several restaurants in the immediate area. Inside, I immediately liked the vibe and decor of the restaurant which has both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat inside and noticed that the dimly lit room had tables spaced for Covid with an attractive and separated bar area. Personally, I think La Lucha has a peculiar menu. It's obvious that they specialize in oysters on the half shell but when you look at the menu the fried chicken stands out as a specialization with a hodge podge of other random selections mostly consisting of seafood and at different price points. Honestly, most of the offerings didn't appeal to me so I went with the 1/2 fried chicken that comes with biscuits, jam and pickles for $20. The food took about 20 minutes to prepare which I liked since that means it would be hot and fresh. The chicken was juicy and flavorful with a nice medium crust. There was plenty of meat on the bone and I enjoyed the bird. The two homemade biscuits and accompanying jam were also good to eat. Finally, what is usually an afterthought, those two pickle spears were excellent! Oh boy, the best pickles that I've had in a long time. They were very flavorful with a mild and pleasing taste. Table service during the meal was very good. Overall, I would give this meal a 3.5. Everything was very good in taste but these $20 half chicken meals are kind of expensive. Other restaurants have gotten on the bandwagon with offering 1/2 fried chicken meals for $20-$24 and I think they are overpriced compared to many other places that sell the same thing and quality for 1/2 the cost. After visiting La Lucha, I believe that it may be more of a bar than a restaurant with their limited menu however I would be glad to return but not sure what else I would order to eat. For that reason only, I will give a 3 score. read more

Brunch at La Lucha... the fried foods at this establishment are simply amazing. The deviled eggs, honey butter chicken biscuits, and the chicken and waffles were all top notch! The Telenovela cocktail was destinkinlicious and a must try. The pink margaritas were ok... let the other people drink pink. The only comment for improvement is that the Blue Crab Chouder Fries came out Luke warm at best... and on seafood, that's cause for suspicion. However, I survived. And the ambiance was so cozy and welcoming on a gloomy Sunday. Free and speedy valet!!! 4 out of 5 stars and I will go back! We get this place five out of five, but the service lagged as he got busier. We had a long space between our entrée and getting our dessert. Our waiter disappeared, and we didn't see her for a while. We went for brunch and sat outside. They have a nice patio if you're trying to steer away from indoor dining. Their indoor space was classy cute as well. We had Chargrilled Oysters, a few raw oysters, chowder fries and deviled eggs. All the food was very good. Deviled Eggs can be hard to make right sometimes and even my hubby that doesn't care for deviled eggs said these were the best he's tasted. The service was great.
