I ate one portion of the fish stew and the hot and sour soup, and saved the rest for the next day. However, when I went to eat the leftovers the next day, the fish stew was still fine--but the bitter melon soup had gone bad. The liquid had turned gray and smelled terrible. I believe the soup had been cooked at least three days before I ordered it. I called Lac Viet to report the issue, but they denied selling me that food on that day--even though I told them I have proof of payment on my credit card. The staff girl mentioned that next time I can ask them when I place an order (I always make a phone call). While I'm not too concerned about the box, I'm a little disappointed with the burnt pork chop. I would give a 0 if I could. TL;DR - Bad business practice. Lied to our faces. Wasted our time. DO NOT TRUST THEIR PHONE ORDERS. My family lives about 40min away from this location. We were excited to try their Crispy Skin Pork Banh Mi. We called them at 9:10am to put in an order and they confirmed our order on the phone. We then took a drive down there, arriving at 10am to pay and pick up our order. When we arrived and asked for our order, they proceeded to tell us they no longer had any of the Crispy Skin Pork Banh Mi available. We asked them what happened and they quickly said that their OVEN WAS BROKEN. We looked at them confused at first because we could see patrons eating their Crispy Skin Pork Sizzling Plates right in front of us. We asked them again as we pointed out that there was Crispy Skin Pork available for the sizzling plates, why not the Banh Mi we ordered over the phone. They proceeded to continue to say their oven was broken and they had none left. This infuriated my family as we had to drive 40+min AFTER calling in an order for pick up AND had CONFIRMATION that they had their Crispy Skin Pork Banh Mi available. I waited for another 30 minutes for my Bo ne and still not come. I ask the waiters where my Bo ne they said it coming. I waited for another 10 min and still not ready. Update. First review was dine in and I was floored. I've since dined in once more and twice did takeaway. The times after had a flavor that was a little different and while it's still great, it didn't have a unique aroma that reminded me of black olives like the first time. The two times I did takeaway the ribs were dry, unfortunately. The service is super polite and cheery. Now I'm not sure that it's the best in North America, but it's definitely up there. And personally re: takeaway packaging- I think it creates excessive waste and takes up too much space. I'll still continue coming back here, however.
