Ordered the rib eye and a few sides, ordered the rib eye blue and mentioned to the waiter that i would send back if not blue. While ordering I was going to revise and say it could be rare as well, waiter said no problem we will make it blue. Got the steak it was medium rare...sent it back, their credit a blue steak did come out after a few minutes. Steak was seasoned well. The side of mushroom was really good! Asparagus was a little let down, a few pieces and had some sort of sauce on top of it, couldnt tell what it was and did not add much. Probably the best steak I've ever had was at LB Steak House! I recommend getting the tomahawk rib eye for two; cooked medium well and also their 8oz filet mignon cooked medium. The steaks were seasoned well and cooked accurately. I was glad we were sat outside because it was cozy with the heaters and less noisy compared to dining in. Our server was so helpful and charismatic too, I forgot her name, but she was working 12/20 at 8pm. Shout out to her! All the sides we ordered were amazing. But what was wrong was the dry age ribeye was tougher than that. The filet mignon was dry. Everything was crazy salty. The mashed potatoes were salty too. The salads were not that good either. Neither the calamari green appetizer or the prawns. Lobster pork belly Mac and cheese was the most disappointing. Not only could you not find the lobster, but the Mac and cheese itself wasn't good either. Service wasn't rude. They were normal. But to be honest, for a nice reservation as a larger party, I would not choose to ever come back for a nice occasion. I'm going to be 100% honest here. The price and quality do not match. The steaks are "a la carte" so they don't come with anything, which for the price is honestly wild. The steaks were cooked fine, but definitely under seasoned. And they make you pay extra for sauces to give them any flavor which for $60+ for just the meat is wild. We decided to give this restaurant a try since we had money loaded in the inKind app and there was a discount for first time customers. InKind is an app that gives you discounts and allows you to pay for your bill. I've used this app on multiple occasions and it has worked well. We made a dinner reservation at 6:30pm on a Saturday for outdoor seating. We arrived a couple minutes early and were immediately seated. I noticed plenty of seats available and really liked the ambiance outside. You can enjoy the nice weather and also people watch. The inside seemed a bit more moody and it was a lot more packed. Our server was friendly and gave us time to look over the menu before explaining to us what they offered. Apparently their menu is seasonal which I think was pretty interesting. We decided on the Tomahawk Rib Eye For Two and a side of Truffle Fries. The fries were crispy and the truffle flavor was not overpowering. The rib eye was massive and was plenty for the both of us. My husband and i had a wonderful dinner at LB steakhouse. The food was delish. The atmosphere, the lighting is romantic , and interior is elegant. One of the best places I've ever been to here in the Bay for happy hour! I've been here many times but took a break for a while. I decided to come by on a Monday and was so surprised at how popular their happy hour got! They also changed their happy hours to be 3PM-5PM which is kind of a bummer because it's such a short time. You shoukd definitely try to come around 2:50PM just because they only have a limited amount of seats at the bar and once they fill up you'll have to wait. The happy hour menu is way better than most places. One of my favorites would have to be the $1 oysters and the $8 shrimp cocktail. The oysters are super fresh but also super tiny. I also love the sauces they give you to pair with it. The shrimps only come with 3/4 pieces but are large and refreshing. I've also had their mini ribs which were so tender and flavorful. Lastly, if i'm feeling super hungry that day I will order a burger with fries which only costs about $10 and is super filling. They also have happy hour drinks which also get switched around every once in a while so they never really have the same drinks. Steakhouse located in Santana Row that meets expectations. I came here on a Saturday around 1pm. The parking situation is your typical 2 hour garage parking at Santana Row, and the restaurant itself was pretty empty with the exception of two other parties. We were seated immediately. The interior of LB steak is a modern feel and your classic steakhouse vibe, with wine bottles lining the wall. The tables were neat and pristine. The restaurant boasts a pretty diverse menu, with a large selection of seafood and meat cooked in different forms. We ended up ordering a New York strip and 6 oz of the Miyazaki Japanese Wagyu, along with a side of mashed potatoes and appetizer of fritto misto. We were originally going to order 4 oz of wagyu, but our waiter mentioned the small portion. Despite the restaurant being pretty empty, the food took a while to arrive. However, both steaks came out warm and fresh, and each person had a hot plate in front of them to keep their plate's contents warm. Both steaks were cooked perfectly medium rare. The New York strip was very tender to cut and chewy in your mouth. It's nothing unique from your typical NY strip, but it's a classic steak that was flavorful and cooked well. The wagyu was tender, but honestly not as buttery as I thought it'd be. I enjoyed the fact that there were 3 different salts to dip in, but it was honestly not astonishing considering its price ($25/oz). I probably would've just stuck with the 4oz, because the two steaks + mashed potatoes + appetizer were a good amount of food for two people, and we had to take some of the potatoes home. The mashed potatoes were creamy, on the less salty side, and topped with a handful of chives. The fritto misto's breaded coating wasn't crunchy enough for my liking, but I enjoyed the shishito peppers. After we finished our meal, we were sitting for a while before the check came -- LB does let their guests sit in the restaurant for a long time as opposed to rushing you out, but that can also mean waiting longer for service. All in all, LB Steak definitely meets expectations in terms of ambiance and flavor. Not the best steak I've had in the Bay Area, but definitely still flavorful. We came to LB Steak to celebrate my boyfriend daughter's birthday and we were really looking forward to it because our previous visits were amazing -- great food and great service. Even the sides weren't the same as before -- the quality just wasn't there. We spent over $700 and honestly, we left hungry and disappointed. I've always ordered medium-well and this was the first time it came out this overcooked. I'm not sure what happened -- maybe management changed or the kitchen staff did -- but the difference was very noticeable. I've seen other recent reviews saying similar things, so I hope they can fix whatever's going on. To be fair, the desserts, salads, and drinks were good, so I'm not giving one star. Our daughter was visiting from Dallas for the weekend, and we wanted to take her out for a special dinner on Sunday night. She suggested Alexander's, a longtime favorite, but my husband and I had previously dined at LB Steak and had a wonderful experience there earlier this year (May 3, 2025), so we recommended trying it instead. That first visit was excellent -- great service, outstanding food, and an overall impressive experience. Unfortunately, last night's visit fell far short of that standard. We arrived for our reservation and were seated promptly. Our server, Brian, stopped by right away to drop off menus and offer water, which was quickly delivered. However, it was about ten minutes before he returned to take our drink order. We had already decided on our appetizers, entrées, sides, and drinks. Our daughter ordered a glass of wine, and I asked if they offered non-alcoholic beer. The waiter said he wasn't sure but would check. Appetizers arrived via a food runner and were quite good. About twenty minutes after we finished, the busser cleared the plates and set new silverware, but still no update on the non-alcoholic beer. Our daughter had finished her wine, yet the waiter never returned to ask if she'd like another. Two food runners brought out our entrées and sides -- no sign of the waiter. All three of us ordered our steaks medium rare, with me asking for mine to be on the rarer side. Unfortunately, my 35-day dry-aged filet mignon arrived well done -- tough throughout, with even the center cooked past medium. My husband's and daughter's steaks were closer to medium than medium rare. I almost never send food back (maybe three times in my life), but at this price point and at a steakhouse, the one thing that should be perfect is the steak. I flagged down the waiter, apologized, and asked him to please return it. He was polite and took it back right away. Meanwhile, my husband and daughter chose to eat theirs as is. Still, the waiter didn't ask if my daughter wanted another glass of wine. For the record, the Brussels sprouts and truffled fries were fantastic -- full of flavor and beautifully prepared. A few minutes after my steak was taken back, we overheard the manager apologizing to the table behind us for overcooked steaks and offering them a gift card. We exchanged looks, realizing it wasn't just our table having issues with the kitchen that night. When my replacement steak arrived, it was cooked correctly and was delicious, but by then my family was nearly finished eating, so I rushed to catch up. Once the plates were cleared, the waiter dropped dessert menus but didn't return for over ten minutes. We had planned to order dessert but were too frustrated by the repeated lapses in service and decided to skip it altogether. When I paid the $367 bill, the same manager who had visited the table behind us brought back the check and apologized for the overcooked steak, offering us a $50 gift card. While the gesture was appreciated, it also felt tone-deaf. Comping the overcooked steak would have been the more appropriate response; instead, the gift card essentially invites us to return and spend more money after a disappointing experience. We left feeling let down -- not angry, but certainly disappointed. LB Steak positions itself as an upscale steakhouse offering a fine dining experience. We were in San Jose for the weekend and stopped by LB Steakhouse for lunch. We arrived early, way before our reservation, yet they were able to seat us quickly. The place was pretty empty. Our server greeted us quickly and we put in our drink orders and appetizers. Then things just started moving sloooooooooooowly after that. The drinks took a really long time to make their way from the bar to our table. This also happened with the coffees we had after dinner. I really am not sure what happened there. We had the Fritto Misto which was recommended by our server and it was as tasty as she described. All of the seafood was freshly fried and crispy. The accompanying green goddess sauce was delicious as well. For our main course we shared the 14 oz Australian Wagyu and added 4 seared scallops. We also shared sauteed spinach for our side. While the steak was delicious and came with a variety of salts, it was very much over cooked. This was disappointing for such a nice cut of meat. I did however slather it in bernaise. The marbled fat helped to keep it juicy despite being a bit too much on the done side. The spinach and scallops were both great. I think the scallops were the highlight of the meal. Nicely seasoned and cooked perfectly. We enjoyed our meals and our server. I guess we both just expected a bit more for a place serving such quality food. read more

I want to update my review from the last time I was at LB Steak. Toby reached out immediately after our last experience which shows a level of excellence and commitment to his customers. He generously offered us to return for a better experience with our steak dinner. I want Toby to know we slid under the radar and had a wonderful dinner a week ago. Our filets were cooked medium well with a nice sear on the outside and perfectly pink on the inside. I had my favorite Bearnaise sauce along with the flight of sauces for dipping my fries. This is my all time favorite steak place even when we moved away for few years there was nothing to compare. Every place can have a hiccup but this place stands the test of time since we started eating at LB. All in all this place has the quality along with flavor variety in steak, sides and atmosphere. The best thing about LB is they care about each customer who walks through the door and their experience. If you haven't had a good steak or experience lately then try LB Steaks. 5/5: New York Strip was the BEST STEAK I EVER HAD! Super flavorful and was cooked to a perfect medium. It comes with only a side garnish, so order a side of veggies. The 12 oz was a perfect size too. It's reasonably priced, about $55. Brussels Sprouts (5/5) were very good! It's seasoned with a tangy sauce and went amazing with the steak. The Truffle Fries (4/5) were also really good, but I did get sick of the truffle flavor after a while, still a fan of plain fries. The sizes are shareable so get it for the table! Heat of the Moment (3/5) was pretty good, a nice cocktail with a small spice kick. Violette (4/5) was much better, tastes like a lemonade berry, I would recommend that one! Not a fan of the bread, it's super chewy and the butter is very whipped where the taste is kinda of nonexistent. We were asked if we wanted bread, thinking it was complimentary until we saw the receipt, it was $4. Our server was great, very nice and attentive. 3.5 stars. Nice gorgeous steak house. Great for parties, large groups, or small intimate gatherings. Service: Very professional, friendly, and attentive. We had a set menu for our group. Seasonal Salad: Mixed greens, beets, oranges, goat cheese, and champagne vinaigrette. (2/5) I could not really taste the dressing, so it was kinda bland. 6 oz. Prime Petit Filet Mignon: green peppercorn sauce, foraged mushrooms, and mashed potatoes. (4/5) This was cooked perfectly (medium rare). The mushrooms were delicious and meaty. The sauce tied all the ingredients together. Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee: Fresh fruit. (4/5) Classic dessert, which was done well, and the portion size was pretty good. read more

My boyfriend and I have came /try to come on our anniversary every year. The food is hands down some of the best . Got the aged ribeye , bread, the mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, baked potato, the lobster bisque and fried pork belly. And a dessert wine! Everything was good. I recommend ordering your meats with the blue cheese butter and/or the wine sauce . To give it that extra punch of flavor. I was given high standards last year for our anniversary. Last year they called to confirm our reservation "my boyfriend Made a note that we were celebrating our anniversary " and when we got there we were given a card with signatures from the servers wishing us a happy anniversary and was given a dessert saying happy anniversary written in chocolate . I was over the moon to have that type of experience. This year fell a little short . Also got a call so we can confirm our reservation, "same note that it was our anniversary " . We're on a mission to get the kids more used to fine dining and so we took them to LB during Sunday brunch. Hector, our waiter, was incredibly nice and attentive to the kids. We ordered the octopus, filet mignon, bread basket, and French toast. The kids had Mac and cheese and a burger - but also had parts of ours to eat. Highlights below! Bread basket - good, three types of bread (sweet rolls, wheat, sourdough) but I still prefer Mastros bread personally. Octopus - loved this. Well done but didn't like the stuff at the bottom. The kids loved trying it. Mashed Potatoes - SO BUTTERY and delicious!! Family favorite. Filet Mignon - excellent as always! And done to perfection. French Toast - good. Nothing to write home about. Honestly, I would skip it next time and just stick to what a steakhouse does well :) Again because we went during brunch, it was very quiet and made for a very nice family dining experience. If you're like us (introducing kids to fine dining), I would recommend taking them during lunch because prices are more reasonable, easier to get reservations, the portions are smaller (try more things) and more appropriate for sharing.
