    Almond Croissant
    Rimi S.

I tried the almond croissant and a plain croissant. Both were soggy. The almonds tasted burned. The plain croissant tasted burnt. Usually most croissants have a buttery taste, this just tasted like bread, perhaps oil is used? Very disappointing.

Hands down, the BEST bagel I've ever had. The staff? Super friendly and welcoming. Now, let's talk about that bagel. It was made fresh--I literally watched it get toasted. By the time I got to my car, the smell of sourdough, melted cheese, and jalapeño filled the air and made my mouth water. Torture, because I had to wait until I got to work to dig in. When I finally opened it up--wow. Golden, soft, with the perfect crunch. The sourdough flavor was spot on, and the jalapeño-cheese combo? Chef's kiss. I've officially found my go-to bagel spot.

My boyfriend got the chicken pesto sandwich. Wow! Was I pleasantly surprised! The bread was slightly toasted and very light and airy. Great balance of pesto , chicken , lettuce and tomatoes. The only thing is that it took a long time to get the order. But overall I would definitely come back.

I love coming here with my co-teacher. We like getting our sandwiches here. Their service is quick. In the mornings and lunch time, they are typically packed.

    Mozzarella, Tomato, & Pesto Salad
    Shristy A.

Vegetarian/vegan reviewer: I've tried the Mozzarella, tomato and pesto salad and it was pretty good. It had some glaze, crunch, tomatoes, yummy mozzarella chunks and maybe a few diced cucumbers. My only complaint was the salad had too much of spring mix and very few cherry tomatoes/cucumbers-really liked the crunch of the kroutons though. I really liked the salad combo as it tasted like healthy caprese. Came with a bread on the side, so it was a decent fill for lunch. I would recommend this salad :) I've tried their snickerdoodle cookie and wouldn't recommend as it was too sweet. Can't comment on the ambience for now as I haven't visited the place yet! :)

    Lentil vegetable soup

Love this place--super fresh sandwiches and soups, salads, etc and they make everything fast, not "fast food," but freshly fast :-) Their tuna salad on nine grain bread would have been better by adding celery but it's a small thing and the quality can't be beat. Also got their bowl of lentil vegetable in a rich tomato broth, wow the flavors robust and packed a punch without heat. River prices are super fair and the ambience inside and patio terrifically conductive. Service helpful and friendly. I'd go back in a heartbeat!

This is what I got for a side with my tiny sandwich. I threw it out because it tasted and looked spoiled.

Extremely overpriced and the food tastes outdated. It costs over 50 dollars for 2 sandwiches. The sides that come with the meals are... Get this... 1 teaspoon of coleslaw or pasta. That's all you get. Only 1 teaspoon for a side. You're literally paying 50 bucks for a teaspoon of bland coleslaw and a tiny sandwich. The bread isn't fresh anymore either. It sits out all day. My coleslaw was yellow. This place needs better management and it's not worth 50 dollars for 2 tiny sandwiches with a spoonful for a side.

I ordered a california fresh sandwich today and the Sofi is quality is very poor. The bread is so stale that I could not take it after a few bites. It's a shame that this used to be my favorite sandwich in this shop .

I haven't been to this particular café in such a long time and it's perfectly on the corner in downtown Los Gatos! I was pleasantly surprised to see they had a digital menu with rotating pictures and a paper menu. I can also hold as well as a QR code this particular location is on the corner and has an abundance of seating. The server was relatively quick, and there were at least four employees in the back, wearing gloves as they made sandwiches. I appreciated how fast they worked, and how clean the cashier, kept the open dining area. There were also tables outside for people to sit in, but it was rather warm this particular day, and everybody seemed to be inside. I loved my chicken chipotle sandwich I believe it also had avocado and I was able to add spinach and lettuce to this particular hot sandwich and it was so filling and delicious. I will look for a picture because I swear I took one! Lol they're mild coffee seemed a bit too strong for me, but I have a very weak stomach for acidity and coffee. I will definitely be back again!

Customizations are welcome. Sandwiches were good and very filling. The only complaint on my end was the shredded lettuce that made for messy eating- I would have preferred whole leaves. Honey wheat isn't recommended if you plan on eating your sandwich later- this bread is softer and will become soggy quite quickly. 4 stars. The bread to protein ration is fair, food is tasty, and the staff was kind. I'd say this was a good first experience.

They were still redoing the front of house so not sure when they will open fully but looking forward to trying more Azerbaijan food. Since I've never had Azerbaijan food before, I asked for a recommendation and he said all of the food is good but did say that the chicken shawarma was big and I was feeling a bit hungry so went with that. It came with fries and some peppers, which reminded me of banana peppers. Not spicy with a briney taste to it, great accompaniment. He also tossed in this yogurt drink (I didn't get the name) that was tasty. Overall, good food and will be back to try their lamb kebabs and the burger as well and interested to see what their pizzas will be like as well. I ordered the Godfather, which is supposed to be their specialty, and it was very disappointing. The meats seemed old, extremely fatty, and so chewy that I was unable to swallow them. Every meat on the sandwich was fatty, including the mortadella, which was unusually greasy and unlike anything I've seen before. The texture made the sandwich very unpleasant to eat. It also made me question whether the meats had been stored properly, though I can't say for sure. The bread was average and didn't seem very fresh either. Maybe going later in the day means the ingredients have been sitting too long, but either way, this sandwich was difficult to enjoy and ended up in the trash.

Hence why I stopped here one warm late afternoon despite having lots of food options in this downtown-y area. The Godfather ($15ish/5*) When I first try a deli I will usually try their Italian combo. It's a classic sub I love but honestly I find it hard to find an above average one. I'm not sure if the art of making one has been lost, but within the last decade or so, I strike out more than I get hits. Usually the meat to bread to produce ratio is off. Sometimes the meats are too salty/poor quality. Other times the sauce/dressing flavor is off. I am so stoked that I found a legit one here. They use prosciutto, mortadella and salami here, all my faves. I hate when a place uses American ham/cheese on an Italian sub. And all the meats are of quality, not too salty at all. Provolone was the cheese, textbook. I chose a sourdough roll and even though requires a good amount of teeth strength to bite off a piece and to chew, it was pretty damn satisfying. The interior is soft yet chewy. They definitely use a solid bread company. The bites were what I consider to be classic Italian sub flavors. No curve balls like pesto, red peppers or strong mustard. Just quality meats with great textures, fresh produce dressed in oil n' vinegar so it taste like a good salad. And the kicker that pleasantly surprised me were chunks of marinated artichoke hearts so this made you feel like biting into an antipasto platter just in sandwich form. So Damn Solid. Italian Sausage Sandwich ($15ish/4*). Even though solid I didn't love this as much as the cold sub. They ask what type of sausage mild or hot Italian. Chose hot, no surprise. They said this will take longer to make, like about 10 minutes. I chose a regular sweet French roll for this. Not as chewy as the sourdough roll, much softer but still has body. I liked the flavors of warm marinara with their unique sausage, quite classic once again. But the sausage they use is super thick like twice as thick as a common Italian sausage link. They do split it so it covers the bread but that sausage is one of the firmest textures I've ever had for a sausage. Sausage by nature because of the grind usually bites easily. Not here, I had to bite so hard that the meat couldn't stay in the bread. I think the casing was unusually tough for some reason. I eventually peeled it off. Decent flavors but problematic to eat cleanly. $35+ (after T&T) for 2 sandwiches seems pricey but really it is the new reality. 10 years ago this would have been about $20ish. Welcome to the new world order. Lol

TLDR: Excellent Fried Chicken!…read more I was just chatting with my friend about picking up Chik-Fil-A for dinner one night, and he suggested Chicken G. There's one in Fremont, but also on in Mountain View, which isn't too far from me. So on a different night, I decided to give this place a try. Short answer: it's REALLY good! Long answer: It's a very very small place. It's got that 80's vibe to it... it's like Falafel Drive-In but with chicken! The staff was nice... although it seemed like there was only 1 front-of-the-house ( I couldn't see in the back). And he was doing EVERYTHING... preparing the food, packaging it up, taking orders.... And it wasn't like the place was super busy at 7:30p on a Thursday. In fact, no one was in front of me, but I still had to wait 5 minutes or so for him to take my order. But finally the order was fired up, and he immediately told me it will take about 15 minutes, because everything is made fresh. Nice! I kinda lost track doom-scrolling, so I peeked my head up every once in a while. I guess he thought I was being impatient, but he assured me, 5 more minutes... Eventually, he called me over, and I took the thing home. Keep in mind, with traffic... it took about 30 min to get home. So the food was getting a little cool. But it was still VERY crunchy, and tasty. My wife immediately took a bite and said it was SO GOOD. She had the 2 tenders and a side (french fries), while I had the chicken burger. The burger was HUUUUGE. I yielded and got a knife to cut the thing in half so I could eat it properly. Even though it was 30 min... the chicken was still super crispy and had a nice satisfying crunch. It blew CFA out of the water, tbh. Tho I still love CFA! Anyway, this place is really really good. It does 1 thing and does it super well. I'd like to try it again, but eat it there fresh and see if that makes a difference. As it stands, I'm struggling to think of a place better than this.
