I am a self-proclaimed expert on pizza. I love pizza from everywhere, and I don't think I have come across one I didn't like, even from places I will compare Ledo to in this review. But I can easily say that Ledo Pizza has the best pizza in the world. I used to go to the Ledo in Crofton, MD at least once a week when I lived near by. When I moved out to Sterling two years ago, I was nervous about how my addiction could be fed. Leesburg and Reston were just a bit too far for weekly visits (I still was sure to stop by each of them when I was in the neighborhood), but Santini's was near by and they have really good pizza. However, I still remember my excitement the time I was looking for parking at the movie theater and I saw the new Ledo of Sterling. I also still remember my disappointment about how far off it was in quality and flavor from Crofton, Leesburg and Reston. Now that the Leesburg owner has taken over the Sterling location, I can once again say Ledo Pizza has the best pizza in the world! When I tell people that Ledo Pizza is the best I will sometimes hear that it is too expensive; that Papa Johns or some other chain that uses frozen, pre-rolled crust has some buy one large one-topping and get a medium one-topping for free, deal. It is like comparing a Ruby Tuesday's steak to a Ruth Chris Steakhouse steak, or lobster at Red Lobster compared to at The Palm. Ruby Tuesday's and Red Lobster run specials that discount their food (which does tastes good). Ruth Chris and The Palm don't discount their food because it is superior in preparation and quality; thus, superior in taste. You will never see Ledo run a special on their pizza for the same reasons. Ledo's crust is rolled per order from dough that is made fresh daily. You can taste the freshness and flakiness compared to the frozen discs that are shipped from some Midwest warehouses to Pizza Hut, Dominos, etc. And what really sets Ledo apart from even the local, non-conglomerate chains is that Ledo uses provolone cheese, not mozzarella. Provolone is a much more flavorful and more expensive cheese. If you are entertaining a group of friends for a game on your large flat screen, do yourself a favor and get Ledo to go. Get several types of medium pizzas (I am a self proclaimed expert, but don't ask me why, mediums at Ledo just taste the best): I recommend Buffalo Chicken, Deluxe, Veggie, and a plain or pepperoni for the one guy who thinks a head of lettuce is all you need for a salad. Also get a couple orders of their Spicy Toasted Ravioli, accompanied with a semi-flavorful lager (Yuengling will do) and I guarantee people will be glad you didn't serve burnt hot dogs on crappy buns like the wife suggested you prepare on the grill. read more

I wish I could give them zero stars. I forgot why I don't come here anymore. It's staffed by a bunch of lazy morons. On our way home, Husband and I were talking about what to pick up for dinner. We decided on Ledo's. We're sitting in the parking lot looking in the restaurant as Husband is calling for a take out order. He watches as the cashier hangs up on him. Twice. Sigh. Husband walks in to place the order and is ignored by three employees standing around chatting. He FINALLY gets to order and is told 15 minutes. We'll see. Never again! It's just not worth it! Here's what's so messed up ... When I first moved to NOVA and stumbled upon Ledo's I LOVED IT!! Lately ... I'm talking within the past year, their service leaves a LOT to be desired. The product is still somewhat decent, if you get it hot. My last experience on Friday, 5/8 with the young ladies behind the counter ... I was served waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much attitude with a side of poor customer service, oh and luke-warm pizza. I ordered a veggie pizza with NO olives. When they rang it up, they charged me more money for less toppings claiming that it no longer was the advertised veggie pizza but they had to ring everything up separately. What year is this? Are you kidding me? Could it be that you don't know how to ring it up the correct way? Or how about, ring it up for what is advertised, turn around to the folks in the kitchen (5 ft behind you) and let them know ... "hold the olives"? How about that? What in the name of NY pizza has happened to good customer service?!?! New management? If you want to hold onto this biz, you may want to reevaluate your staff. read more

A new location of Ledo Pizza has just opened in Sterling. The restaurant is tiny! Only about 10-12 actual tables in the whole place. They have these annoying water fountains hanging over each table and the sounds of the water didn't really bother me, but really wigged my sister out! The pizza was good and the waitstaff was friendly, although it seemed like they had more waitstaff than people, and I actually keep seeing ads in the paper that they are hiring. The hostess yelled "HAVE A GOOD NIGHT" in my ear as I was walking out the door, and my sister and I had a good laugh over that one, she kind of startled me with her loud voice. I am a big fan of Ledo's Pizza. I like the thin crust, and the sweet sauce they use. It is by far the best pizza place around. I would be concerned when Mellow mushroom opens up. That will be a tough battle for pizza. Ledo's has price on its side. Mellow Mushroom has more variety. This specific Ledo's is clean and close to home. I wished they had more variety in their menu, but their pizza and salad are great. read more

I was craving a calzone so we called Ledo to order that and a pizza. I pulled up the menu online and wanted the tuscan, with banana peppers and meats. The girl on the phone asked me what I said twice, then proceeded like she understood. When I picked it up, it was just a regular calzone. I pointed this out and neither of the ladies there knew what the tuscan was. Apparently I had pulled up the wrong menu- my fault, but why didn't you tell me they didn't have that when I ordered? The lady was apologetic and offered to make something else for me, but time was of the essence, as I was really hungry. read more

I've been to a lot of pizza places in my days on this here planet, but no establishment has ever enchanted me the way Ledo did today. Not only was the food excellent (I recommend the PL-BL with honey mustard) but the service was outstanding. I obnoxiously asked for 6 refills of 1/3 cup of water, and my hostess acquiesced without blinking. When I tried to one-up my repugnant behavior by requesting an employee review on the spot, she drew one herself. That, folks, is what I call dedication!!! With food that is "A+ work", and a staff that rocks the casbah, one would be foolish to pass up on Ledo Pizza of Sterling. read more

This used to be our families choice for pizza. Lately the pizza has been served burnt and cold. They have also gotten our order wrong a few times. It's always dark and unwelcoming when you go there. I would've liked to try Ledo Pizza, but that never happened. Walked in unknowingly a few minutes after close. Door was open, there were several employees working behind the counter and in the kitchen inside. I stop and take a few minutes to look at the menu. A younger guy is behind the counter talking to another (young female) employee. They don't say anything to me or acknowledge me (he's too busy flirting I guess) after a minute or two, I notice a few sideways looks from the guy. I'm clearly scrutinizing the menu. After another minute or so I decide and then approach the register. Before I can get two words out the guy looks at me as if I'd just told him I thought that the earth was flat and says "sorry we're closed" in a rude tone of voice, rolls his eyes at me and goes back to flirting with the other employee. You couldn't have told me that when you saw me walk in and look at your menu a few minutes ago? Thanks for the side of attitude, by the way. read more

We ordered a chicken parm and spinach salad w apple, goat cheese and prosciutto. They wouldn't let us get the fries combo w the sandwich. Then gave us dried chewy grilled chicken with terrible sauce. Tasted very sugary. The salad was awful. Instead of telling us they were out of prosciutto (I'm assuming) they threw dried hard paper thin slices of chicken on it and a ton of bacon. I ordered the salad because it was supposed to be under 500 calories. Not after they made their own version. We threw the menu out. Will never go there again. read more

Ledo Pizza in Sterling, VA is just okay. It is what it is - a place for kids or families to get a quick bite of greasy pizza before or after a movie (movie theater next door). Next door is a Coldstone, so it rounds out the perfect summertime outing (movie, pizza, ice cream). I'm not a huge fan of their food or pizza. To me, the food quality is a little low, but a lot of people love their pizza. The subs are good. read more

The Hawaiian pizza is just as good as any other Ledo's location... But, the service leaves something to be desired. The 2-person wait staff didn't seem to care and the girl kind of wanted me out even though I hadn't finished my food... She brought me my check well before I was done. This is the best pizza in the area. I typically just order for pick up. I have read a lot of reviews about poor customer service. I can't comment on that other than to say I have never had a problem picking up my pies from this location. And I have ordered a lot from here! Never had one mix up on the order or pizza not made well. Easily my number one choice. Second would probably be Pizza Boli's, only because they deliver. read more

I haven't been to ledos in a while but my wife and I decided to order take out because I wanted to try their new Marylander salad which was on their promotion menu featuring old bay hot sauce. I called in my order for the Marylander Salad with my wife getting the hot chicken salad. The only difference between the two salads seemed to be that one had battered chicken with the other having battered chicken with old bay hot sauce. When we showed up for pick up I was told that they didn't know how to make the Marylander salad and would I like something else. First of all, it's a salad! They made my wife's salad and in my opinion all they had to do was make the exact same salad except toss the chicken in old bay hot sauce. I asked if they ran out of sauce and she said no, that they just didn't know how to make it. Since she did not seem concerned at all I just told her that we would take our business elsewhere and we had only come just to try the old bay hot sauce. There was effort to explain or even to say sorry. They could have let me know before I arrived that they were having a problem with my order. I will definitely not be going back there again. read more

Some things are good and some things aren't so good. Steak and cheese: Good. lasagne: Not Good. It's reasonably priced if you get the better tasting items on the menu. Last night we had the soup and salad. We had a polite young gentleman serve our food. The soup tasted moldy and lacked taste. The salad had many rotten leaves. We sent the food back and asked for chicken wings instead. What we got was someone else, a very rude head waiter/ manager? giving us attitude for not eating the food that we ordered. I told him politely that he could not force me to eat the food if I was not satisfied with it. I immediately asked for our check, paid and left. One of my family used to work at Ledo's in Bethesda for many years and is still in good standing with their former colleagues and manager there . So I know how Ledo's is supposed to taste. Never in my life have I encountered such awful service and such poor quality food. Manager at Sterling location should definitely review the kind of quality that their restaurant is putting out. read more

I agree that the menu is a bit 'hit or miss'. I don't care for the pizza at all but everything else I've tried has been pretty good. Service is quick and quite good. Since it has the word Pizza in the name of the restaurant I'm only giving it 3 stars because I really don't care for this pizza. But the rest of the food does seem to be pretty good & moderately priced. read more

Their service is always friendly and is usually accurate. We have gone their frequently for the past 5 years and have only had 1 order wrong. Good food at a good price. We love their buffalo cheese fries and I can't get enough of their chicken bruschetta - I swear I could make a meal of that alone with a side of ledo sauce to dip it in - MMM!! read more

This ledo is probably the worst in the area, the pizza is NEVER made the same way, just like all the other food. I mean, how hard is it to look at directions on how to make something and then totally mess it up? As for the staff, the manager is a young girl who always has a horrible attitude and is constantly on her cell phone. The wait staff is ok, it seems they are all new and don't know the menu or anything else for that matter. Have been going to w/ my family to Ledo's for years, 1st time at the Sterling location. Our waiter (David N) completely ruined our experience, we have no plans to return. I could get past the small things (brought one too few plates, was always trying to leave, wouldn't put the leftover pizza in a box but brought a box and set it down, no attention to drink refills, one pizza cold) but the terrible part is when i looked at the receipt -- it seemed too high. Asked for the inventoried receipt and - he had wrung up the "specialty" pizza as individual ingredients driving the price of the pizza up $10. I informed him the pizza had been wrung up incorrectly and we needed a revised receipt. He returned with the table, slide it under my face and said in a sarcastic tone: "is this more too your liking?" i would guess this is his typical way of driving up the check to try to get a better tip out of obligation - not even an apology, rather a rude comment. His service skills were an F. We usually just order specific ingredients, this is my first time trying a "specialty" pizza. I'd give that a C on taste, prep and appearance. read more

I moved to Sterling from Leesburg. Loved the ledos in Leesburg. I was excited to learn that Ledos in Sterling was a few miles from my new house. The first or second time i ordered the same pizza i always get ( the hawaiian ) was a joke. The same person i called ahead for pick up was the guy i picked up from. He was stoned out of his mind. He gave me a half pineapple/half ham. I reminded him what i just ordered and he said he would fix it for me. He had the cooks put ham on the pineapple side and pineapple on the ham side. The pizza as put back in the oven for 5-10 mins. He gave me back the pizza with raw ham on half and chucks of pineapple on the other half. The edges were now burnt. I said thank you and took the pizza home. I didnt care anymore and i was starving. I ended up regretting even eating it. The second or third time i ordered for a pick up months later i had yet again another issue with the same guy. This time the ordered was correct but all the toppings were in the center of the pizza. I didnt say anything but my girlfriend called to complain. She took a picture and later showed it to the manager. We never ordered from the Sterling location again. Today, I picked up an ordered for my work. The Pepperoni was fine. The Hawaiian was not. The pizza had about 20 pieces of pineapple on it. Every time you pick up a pizza the person behind the counter shows you the pizza. I had asked her if she thought that the cook put enough pineapples on the pizza. She asked if i wanted a side of pineapples. I thought she was joking at first. I mean who would want a side of cold pineapple for a hot pizza that just came out of the oven. Ledo Pizza has been one of my favorite restaurants for more than twenty years! My family and I used to drive to Maryland to eat at the original restaurant. We were thrilled when Ledos started opening up in the Northern Virginia area. I've been to many of the NOVA restaurants. Nothing is quite as good as the original in MD, but Sterling and a couple of the other branches come pretty close! I have eaten at the Sterling Ledos many times since it opened. They have had consistently good service and good food. I love their pizza, of course, but they also have a variety of other options. They have a particularly tasty stake and cheese sub, and the bread sticks are yummy. Their pepperoni is quite good. The pieces are thicker than any other pepperoni I have ever had on any other pizza. I find the peperoni a little spicy, but I am sensitive to spicy foods. I eat it anyway, because it is so delicious! The biggest thing I've heard people complain about is that the pizza is greecy. I do not notice it being any more greecy than any other pizza. It is the best pizza I have ever eaten! Plus, I love their slogon, "We don't cut corners". The pizza is rectangular! read more
