Green Curry with side of steam veggies

This is my go to Thai spot in the city. Here is what I thought of my most recent visit: Food: great! Cannot go wrong. I went with my friend for Sunday dinner - we had green curry and the shrimp crystal noodle soup. And you HAVE to try their mango sticky rice! Very no frills place with pretty to the point service!

    Red Curry Duck
    Catalina L.

A very average experience dining in. The food flavor was not very strong or memorable. Particularly of the red curry duck, there were not many duck pieces, and if there was it seemed thin and small, not juicy or meaty sustenance. Portion size was fair and value was ok on that regard. This restaurant special curry came with some rice and solid amount. However the regular menu did not come with rice and you have to order it extra Service was extremely limited to non-existent while we dined. Staff seemed busy with takeout orders and there were only up to 3 dining parties seated anyway. When we first were seated it took almost 10 minutes for us to order as we were the only ones seated and had to get their attention. Occasional water refills through the meal were appreciated. Friend thought the green curry was average good as well

Chicken Pumpkin Curry - Added on a bowl of rice. Nice ratio of meat, veggies and curry.

Haven't been to this restaurant in ages and I was in the area so decided to drop in for dinner. I was craving Pumpkin Curry. I ordered chicken pumpkin curry and added a bowl of white rice. It wasn't bad, they give you a nice portion of chicken and various vegetables and there's the perfect amount of curry to add to your rice. If you're extremely hungry, you will probably need to add on an appetizer or soup. Service was cold, unfriendly and no one even came by to check on whether I needed anything else. I don't think I'll be returning.

Good prices , fast service and great for impromptu sit in or take out! This place is a machine! Food wise- no frills Vietnamese food w a pretty amply sized menu. I haven't even touched the tip of what it has to offer, but the first few dishes were great.

Great pad Thai!!! Period! Good quality and has consistent choices. Huge menu for all. They were quick to make everything and it seems that when I walk in, the staff is friendly. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great place for a "that's looks good, lets try that" place for great pad Thai!

Lemon Grass Thai Red Duck Curry is delicious. Please do not skip out on it. Everything there is good but the curry is out of this world. It's a casual place with delicious food when you're in the mood for Thai. The service is very good.

    Beef pad kra pow

I had a craving for Thai food but unfortunately this didn't hit the spot :(. I ordered the beef pad kra pow and got quite a completely different dish. Instead of minced meat accompanied by rice (and little sauce), I got a pan-Asian style beef stir fry with no rice. I'd say there are better, more authentic Thai spots in the area.

** The following review reflects my delivery experience DURING the COVID-19 pandemic. ** In the words of the late Trini Lopez as he strummed his Gibson guitar, "Lemon Tree, very pretty and the lemon flower is sweet. But the lemon fruit is impossible to eat." Oh wait, it's Lemon Grass? Never mind then. Actually I've heard of Lemon Grass since the nineties back when people were able to dine freely without fear of getting scooped up by the pandemic. Remember? It was a popular spot on Polk, but unbelievably I never tried it. There's no legitimate excuse for the oversight, but now that Door Dash and Grubhub have become my buddies, they've reintroduced me to old local neighborhood favorites that have previously alluded me. I indulged a bit and ordered the $15 Duck Salad since I rarely have roast duck these days. There were plenty of slices mixed with red and green onion, shredded carrot, tomatoes, and chili peppers on a bed of lettuce (photo: https://bit.ly/3lKs2Oe). The duck was succulent though a tad oily for my taste. I countered it with an order of the $15 Steamed Mussels, almost a dozen big, plump ones swimming in a briny broth with basil, onion, and lime juice (photo: https://bit.ly/3dtOSXD). Maritime goodness that I dipped in their special chili sauce. I decided to complete the meal with the $10 half-dozen Steamed Wontons, filled with minced chicken and vegetables, so tasty I skipped the sweet & sour sauce (photo: https://bit.ly/3iZMhpn). Lemon Grass, very pretty... FOOD - 4 stars...Thai specialties well executed and generously portioned AMBIANCE - n/a...still don't know after all these years SERVICE - 4 stars...well packaged and speedily served TOTAL - 4 stars... "Lemon Grass, very pretty and the steamed wontons are not sweet. But the duck salad is possible to eat." Sing it, Trini! RELATED - Ready for Thai? So many delivery orders before moving nearby, and now either takeout or dine in... and always happy. Friendly service, great food.

Had to go physically since they don't do reservations online anymore…read more The wait was about two hours but we actually walked around and went to an open bar a short walk away. They text you when your table is ready and got have about 5 minutes to get there. Right away I knew I wanted the Khao soi which I got with tofu. This was beyond delicious, but I wish they have more broth. I've had Khao soi before but it was a bit more broth which made the noodles less dry. Also I wish the tofu was cut into smaller cubes, the tofu wasn't very crispy which made it pretty bland and one dimensional. Other than that it was very good. The Thai tea was also good, not too sweet which was perfect. The duck breast curry had a similar taste to the Khao soi but the duck was one of the beast we had. Super moist and flavorful in the broth, definitely one of the best dishes of the night. Also the beef fried rice (Khao pad mun neur) was cooked well, my favorite was the flavor of the fried rice. Had a smoky wok flavor to it which made it addicting. The ambience was very nice my favorite was their music playlist. Was nostalgic and gave good vibes in the restaurant. Definitely a great experience and worth a try when in the city. I would come again for the duck curry and maybe the Khao soi with a different protein or ask the tofu to be extra crispy.

All 32 customers were seated when the doors opened, with 8-9 waiting by 4:30 PM. By the time we left at 5:30 PM, there were 12 waiting to be seated. Our fav wait staff was called in to work an extra day. It's always nice to see her as she takes orders and bustle dishes with a pleasant smile on her face. We ordered the same short rib beef fried rice but tried the curry chicken noodle soup this time which had a crispy fried ball of noodles topping a bowl of mild, spicy curry broth, soft noodles and chicken. It was very good. For the first time, we ordered their Chinese broccoli which was sliced into smaller pieces and surprisingly very good. We were full but decided to get the pandan kaya toast with large scoop of coconut ice cream to share since we've not ordered this in a long time. The chefs cooking that evening were doing a great job as the flavors were delicious.

Every bite and sip was delicious. We ordered family style and shared everything. The service was also fantastic, even though we got there late and didn't realize until the food was beginning to come out that it was last call, our server and all the other workers that came by were all so friendly and made us feel welcome. We ate quickly and boxed the rest so they could get home. What we ordered: Tom Kha soup - coconutty, creamy, a lil sour and a lil spice. Delicious. Fresh rolls - crisp and springy with lots of greens and tofu and a good peanut sauce to dip. Crispy pork belly sweet basil - the CRISP and flavor of this pork belly was to die for. Chicken larb - this was my favorite dish of the night. Heavy basil/herbs, just a little kick from the chilies, full on flavor explosion. I will be thinking of this dish for a long time haha. Beef Pad See Ew - chewy in the most delicious and favor packed way. Love pad see ew and this one was great! Pad cha scallop - Came out sizzling on a cast iron! This dish was fun and the scallops while small, were fresh and had lots of flavor. And finally, for dessert we ordered the black rice durian. It was all three of us' first time trying Durian and we loved it! Creamy and a little funky but the black rice and sauce emphasized its natural sweetness. Thank you to everyone at Saap Ver for adding to my besties birthday happiness! Can't wait to come back.

The inside of the restaurant was quite lively, even though it was pretty early in the evening. The decorations were very colorful, and the atmosphere felt lively. Service was fine, but the food did take awhile to get to us. We ended up ordering crispy pork, duck curry, pad thai, and fried rice (sorry don't remember which fried rice in particular). I think the pad thai and fried rice were a bit light in flavor, but the curry and crispy pork were really yummy! The duck curry kinda took me by surprise because of the lychee haha I wish the portions were bigger, but great taste.

The interior is well decorated with Thai culture and with the darker tones of the design, it makes the restaurant feel quite fancy. 4.5/5 - Crispy Pork (Moo Krop) Fried Rice - Very savory fried rice dish. Spiced well and very filling. We didn't expect the pork to be cut so large and mixed into the rice, but it was very tender and easy to still eat. We would've expected the pork to be sliced maybe in half or fourths to make the dish feel like a "pork fried rice" than a fried rice + pork mix, but it still worked well and if you love pork, this will definitely be your fix! 5/5 - Pad Thai - We thought the restaurant nailed this classic noodle dish. Filling portions and did not overcook their noodles. You can taste each component of the dish, which speaks to everything not being under or overcooked. We ordered nuts on the side but you would be quite satisfied ordering this if you like pad thai! 4.5/5 - Pad Gra Prow - Appropriate veggie to beef proportion and very flavorful. Minced well and great to complement with your carb dishes (noodle or rice). We thought the dish was slightly oily but it feels well absorbed when eaten with our pad thai. If you have tried the dish before and would like it, this will be satisfactory!
