A very average experience dining in. The food flavor was not very strong or memorable. Particularly of the red curry duck, there were not many duck pieces, and if there was it seemed thin and small, not juicy or meaty sustenance. Portion size was fair and value was ok on that regard. This restaurant special curry came with some rice and solid amount. However the regular menu did not come with rice and you have to order it extra Service was extremely limited to non-existent while we dined. Staff seemed busy with takeout orders and there were only up to 3 dining parties seated anyway. When we first were seated it took almost 10 minutes for us to order as we were the only ones seated and had to get their attention. Occasional water refills through the meal were appreciated. Haven't been to this restaurant in ages and I was in the area so decided to drop in for dinner. I was craving Pumpkin Curry. I ordered chicken pumpkin curry and added a bowl of white rice. It wasn't bad, they give you a nice portion of chicken and various vegetables and there's the perfect amount of curry to add to your rice. I've been coming here for several years. The quality and service are consistently good. Friendly, kind servers and very tasty meals for very affordable prices. They get a lot of DoorDash and Uber orders, so there can be a bit of a wait when the seating area is full. I'd say it is very much worth being patient. Actually I've heard of Lemon Grass since the nineties back when people were able to dine freely without fear of getting scooped up by the pandemic. Remember? It was a popular spot on Polk, but unbelievably I never tried it. There's no legitimate excuse for the oversight, but now that Door Dash and Grubhub have become my buddies, they've reintroduced me to old local neighborhood favorites that have previously alluded me. I indulged a bit and ordered the $15 Duck Salad since I rarely have roast duck these days. If you are ever in this area of Russian Hilland want some decently good tasting Thai food, Lemongrass is your place to visit. By no means is this the best Thai food you'll get, but this is definitely a good place to settle at if you live close by here. Never have I ever been disappointed in the food that they've served, and I've ordered here quite a number of times too. The main things I usually get are the noodle soups, the pad see ew, papaya salad, larb salad, and sometimes their curry. This time, I wanted to give their fried rice a try too. I actually really like their Lemongrass Special Noodle Soup. I love the sour/savoriness the soup brings and it just tastes so comforting. It's not overwhelming in flavor and I think the subtleness of the soup is really nice. It also contains a mixture of seafood and ground chicken too. I actually really recommend getting this one if you're craving noodle soups of course. Everything else is pretty much your standard common thai dishes. I had ordered the Pattaya chicken and my friend had ordered the Pad Thai Jay. Pattaya chicken had a very funky taste, don't get me wrong, it was good funky. The gravy was rich and had a lot of flavor. The chicken and bell peppers were cooked well and the combination went overboard. The Pad Thai was standard stuff, as reviewed by my friend. I found this place on a late-night stroll. Great ambiance, great price, great proximities to the nightlife, and great food! It's all about the pad thai am with shrimp. I also got the fried tofu with peanut sauce, which was amazing. Also their selection of beers was very good. I thought the service was really fast. The food got to us pretty quickly, the servers were patient about waiting for us to order. Also the ambiance was really nice and they made a very small restaurant seem very big. Had an excellent experience at the Lemon grass Tai Cuisine. Nice low key spot next door to a coffee shop. Getting there during traffic hours was a bit of a delay. Finding parking was a pretty big headache. Walked in the place not knowing what to expect for there was only two other customers when we walked in. I ordered the the lemon grass curry chicken. I can honestly say it's definitely one of the best tai curries I've ever experienced. They served it on a iron blazing hot skillet and your choice of rice on the side. All I have to say is Delicious!!! I will definitely be returning to this place when ever I'm back in San Francisco.
