    Mediterranean Chicken pizza
    Victoria S.

First time visiting this all gluten free restaurant & bakery for a birthday dinner. It's clean and spacious, with lots of indoor and outdoor seating with a small private parking lot. Service was a little slow, we had to remind them to get our drinks and desserts a few times. But overall we had a good experience, it's a great place to hang out and chill. The food was fantastic, we enjoyed everything we ordered. For appetizers we got the mezza sampler (Hummus, Baba Ghannoush, Falafel, Cheese Sambousek, Heirloom Tomatoes, Marinated Olives, pita). The pita bread was so good! We also really like the chicken sambousek, I wish they had beef too. The Fattoush salad was refreshing & super tasty, I really liked the pomegranate lemon dressing. For main entrees we enjoyed the Mediterranean Chicken Manoush (pizza). It was a good size, next time we will try the Merguez Sausage pizza. We also really like the Braised Short Ribs and the Mediterranean Halibut. Both dishes were tender & flavorful, just wish they were bigger. We really liked their fresh squeezed hibiscus lemonade and the fresh mint lemonade. Unfortunately the desserts were only ok, they were a little dry. We tried the bread pudding, pistachio rose cake, Nutella jam cookie and carrot cake. We will definitely return to try more items on the menu.

Found this place on Yelp with rave reviews and decided to give it a go for our Saturday brunch during our weekend in LA. The place was fairly busy but we were able to get a table quickly. The menu had an interesting take on Turkish/Greek dishes one may usually find with vegetarian/vegan options too. We got the Lebanese egg pie, the mushroom manush and the Halibut. All three were excellent, they elevated these dishes with a very interesting flavor profile. The Manish especially had an interesting citrus note to it. The Lebanese egg pie was so flaky and delicious - the pie was excellent! The halibut was nice too with pistachio sauce but was my least favorite of all. Check this place out if you're a fan of Mediterranean brunch places - it will not disappoint!

Wow, incredible experience here! We came without a reservation on a weeknight for dinner. I loved the ambiance of the restaurant, calm and felt elevated without being overover the top. I am vegetarian and have celiac disease (strictly gluten-free), and had an absolutely wonderful time with all the food. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu, and everything was gluten-free. This was impressive given the multiple Mediterranean items on the menu that would traditionally have bread. We had the cheese sambeuk appetizer, and it was amazing, warm, soft, large cheese filled pastry dough. I could have eaten just a plate of these for dinner. We shared the arugula and artichoke manoush (flatbread) and the eggplant and falafel for entrees. The flatbread itself was delicious, and the toppings mixed together really well with the coolness from the labneh, acidity from the sundried tomatoes, and freshness of the arugula covered in pomegranate glaze - great! The eggplant/falafel plate was excellent too, the falafel tasted very fresh, and we were able to try multiple delicious dips like the hummus, baba ghannoush in it as well. We had the baklava tart as the dessert - it was definitely a good attempt at recreating some of the baklava flavors, though I think it is very difficult to recreate the adequate flakiness/crunchiness iconic baklava in the gluten-free tart form. Overall, food was fresh, delicious and thoughtful, and we had an excellent experience!

Second time at levant! I had the same server I had last time. I can't remember his name but he's always so nice! The gluten free pita bread was insane. I don't know how they got the texture to be so good! The carrot cake was yummy too. Can't wait to try more

I took my husband here since it's fully gluten free and we had a fantastic time! Its such a cool place inside and they have a nice outdoor area as well - we ate outside. Everyone was so so kind and attentive to us. Truly fantastic customer service! I got the chicken kabob with pita and garlic whip too. We shared the garlic cheese bread and spinach and cheese sambousek. I really liked the cheese one. My husband got the sausage manoush. I could not taste the difference in bread (im not gluten free) at all because it was so soft and fluffy and not dry at all. The only thing i could tell the difference in was the pita, but i still snarfed all my pieces. Excellent hummus and garlic whip! My chicken was not dry at all and a good portion size too. We ended up taking some home! Unfortunately neither of us were wild about the baklava "tart" which i felt bad for my husband because i dont think hes ever had baklava and i love it. I would love to come back for brunch!! Despite its location there is actually parking (gasp). So please make sure to visit here if you love lebanese or are gluten free!

    Grilled Tawook Chicken Sandwich

Ordered DoorDash from here for the first time last night. Here's what I tried: -Grilled Chicken Tawook: the green sauce on here is so good! 10/10 for the sauce but the chicken was a bit too dry. -Garlic Herb Bread: cheesy, crispy edges, buttery goodness. I'm not gluten free but would happily order this over and over. Arrived piping hot and fresh and I'm thinking about reordering as I'm writing this -Chocolate cake: again, I'm not on any dietary restrictions and this cake was still so decadent and rich for a vegan dessert. Absolutely would order again as well! Overall very solid, healthier menu options here - looking forward to trying some of the other items!

This place was delicious and definitely worth the parking hassle. We thought there would be easier parking because there was a parking lot but there are other high traffic businesses in the same lot so it was busy. I found parking on San Fernando and there is an opening that opens to the back area as well with outdoor seating. The staff was really friendly and answered questions. We tried the egg pie, flat bread, fattoush salad, meze plate. The cheese filled bread on the meze plate was my favorite and so good. Also amazing that everything is gluten free?! There were plenty of vegetarian options and delicious drinks. I tried the peach Italian soda and loved that real fruit puree was used. The egg pie was very good but a little dry. You can add toppings to it which may have been better. It was a nice peaceful lunch with friends and great food. Definitely a place to try!

    Kibbeh

Really wanted to like this place: the interior was nice, the menu looked great, but the food was so disappointing. I split the kibbeh and mixed grill plate (chicken, beef) and all the meat was bland and dry. The hummus, mutabal (baba ghanoush) were also quite bland. Will not be returning.

Great stop into LA. Amazing delicious fresh food. **Gluten free restaurant good for those with celiac. Including beer! Also clearly labeled menu for other dietary restrictions. (DF-dairy free, nf-nut free, ef, egg free). Pita bread was gf delicious when warm but hardens when cold, typical of gf breads. Service this day was a little slow, one waiter working all the tables for inside and outside eating. But it was fine, we were in no rush. Waiter was friendly and working hard to care for the needs of the patrons. We sat outside. The weather was pleasant and seating was shaded by the trees. We ordered the mezza sampler ($23), the lamb kibbeh ($18), extra pita ($4), off the grill lamb kafta ($23). Gf beer - ipa. Loved our food. This day we saw people ordering the sandwiches, so I want to try that next time. Parking lot was full but we managed to find a spot. There was security for the parking area so we felt safe leaving our car full of luggage in the back. (Always park at your own risk). Overall great experience and will definitely hit this spot when next in LA.

Levant Bistro and Bake Shop is an absolute gem! We came on a Friday night without a reservation (which is recommended) and were lucky to get seated in the bar area overlooking the kitchen. Watching the chefs put together the dishes added to the experience, and the service was incredibly friendly and attentive. Everything here is gluten-free, making it a dream spot for anyone with dietary restrictions but a love for carbs. We had the merguez sausage, a Lebanese flatbread with cheese and sausage, and for dessert, the knafeh and baklava tart--all of which were absolutely delicious. The ambiance was warm and welcoming! The owner, Danny, was so welcoming and took the time to explain the dishes and their incredible coffee selection. You can tell the passion and care that goes into everything they serve. Can't wait to come back!

    Juan F.

Dined here for lunch. They have a lot but its kinda small and its shared with lots of other restaurants. Your best bet is street by the school or metered. My wife and I shared a few dishes and all of them were pretty good. My only complaint is that it was a busy Friday rush and literally had 1 person doing the waiting, serving, cleaning, bartending, etc. so service took long - but not the mans fault they are understaffed.

    Max G.

Second time and the service and food are still amazing. It is an amazing great place to visit and try different plates. The ambiance is super cool (beautiful music selection too) A place with a pin on our roadmap for sure!

This place is one of Echo Park's precious gems! Boss lady (mom) and I love it. We always have to order their hummus with shawerma which is to die for! Very well seasoned with pickled red onion and lemony flavored. Trust me I'm salivating just thinking about it! Some of other favorite stuff from here are their sambousek which is Lebanese style empanadas. The lentil and veggie turmeric soups are comforting and hearty. The ambiance is so nice and armonious that you can totally feel how everyone around you is enjoying their food. My all time favorite stuff from here is no doubt their knafeh. It tastes both doughy and with the crunchiness of the kataifi, the not overly sweetness of the syrup with hint of rose extract and crushed pistachios perfectly balance with the cheese inside! I swear this place's knafeh should be on top 10 of best desserts in LA... not only of LA but of the entire country! I'd totally have it as part of my last meal ever! Everyone in here is so nice and attentive. Clean restroom and parking onsite as it is located in a plaza with other businesses but street parking is another option. Go try this place and if you order their knafeh please dedicate a bite to yours truly.

Baklava tart - added chocolate ganache - so good!!!

Is everything gf? I'm planning to come dine in soon, but in the meantime want to order through a delivery app. The app lists df, nf, etc. but doesn't say gf.

From what I know, yes. I met one of the owners when dining there and he mentioned that they cannot tolerate gluten and therefore, tailored their dishes accordingly.

Do you bake/sale Gluten free breads? Thanks.

Yes we bake small batch breads and sell pita and baguette as well

Do you need reservations on a Tuesday night?

Not usually... Walk-ins are always welcome unless it's a large party then yes.

    Is the meat zabiha halal?

    Yes it is..

The place is pretty small and hard to navigate around the seating. The best and our favorite of the three wraps was the tongue wrap. This was seriously outstanding and one of the best I've had. It was juicy, lemony, cooked well and flavorful. After that, things went downhill. The vegetable wrap was greasy, almost slimey, and falling apart. The vegetables were all soggy and there wasn't much flavor. The chicken shawarma panini was the biggest disappointment. This was so salty and had a bad taste like the chicken was rancid. It was dry and just not good at all. On the way out we spoke to the owner and mentioned how salty it was, to which he said he knows about it and people complain about it often. So why isn't there a change? Sadly not a place I would return to

When a server finally came over, the first thing she said was "Ready? Ready?", no greeting, no welcome, nothing. We were never brought water. I had to ask a busser for it because the server walked past our table multiple times, clearly saw us, and chose to ignore us. The food runner was also rude, he dropped the plates on the table without saying a single word. Throughout the entire meal, no one checked on us. No "How is everything?" No "Do you need anything?" Nothing at all. Meanwhile, we noticed that nearby tables were being greeted, checked on, and treated kindly. When we asked for the check, the server literally threw it on the table without saying a word. The experience was so bad that we decided not to leave a tip; Something we never do, especially since we truly value good service and I personally work in the restaurant industry. I don't know if the treatment had anything to do with how we looked or how we were dressed, but I've never felt so ignored and uncomfortable in a restaurant before. The food may be fine, but the service completely ruins the experience. I would not return or recommend this place.

They've always been super accommodating because my coworkers and I make pretty big orders and when I arrive, it's always ready and pack. Which is super helpful when you have to drive during rush hour. Now let's talk about the food. You have to get the beef shawarma wrap. I've had wraps here and there but, never have I had a wrap as good as the one I've had here. As soon as the took my first bite, my head started nodding up and down. As in yes, yes, yes....this is amazing. My other favorite food option is the Lahme. I never had anything like it. It flavorful and just keeps opening up the more you eat it. There is no lack of seasoning in any of food and everything a depth of flavor I've never experienced before. You can feed 1-2 people with either the beef shawarma or chicken shawarma plate. They are not shy with either protein. If I can give you some advice, it would be to eat there. Because if you get it to go, you will be starving and hangry all the way home because everything smells just as good as it taste. All the way to work I can hear my stomach rumbling because of how good everything smells.

We stopped by here on a weekday because it was one of the dog-friendly restaurants near Rosie's Dog…read moreBeach. They have multiple outside seating areas where you can sit with your doggo. Ambiance (5/5): Although we didn't sit inside, it was super cute, with classy boho vibes. The restroom was clean and well-decorated (although, not gonna lie, I don't know how I felt about the big mirror facing the toilet). The outside patio area was airy, and although right by the street, I didn't find it unpleasant. Service (3/5): It was just so-so. They sat us down quickly, gave us our menus and checked on us maybe twice. It wasn't super busy, but we had to wait to ask for things like extra plates and water for our dog. Food Overall (5/5): Food was delicious. We got the beef shawarma lunch special and got fries for the side (extra charge) and also the chicken shawarma lunch special with the hummus side. Beef Shawarma (4/5): It had a nice toasty flavor, perhaps from the spices, and the pickled veggies really complemented it. My only complaint was that I wish it had a bit more of the white sauce (maybe adding more hummus would have helped). It was also strangely a bit watery, maybe from the veggies. Overall, it was still a yummy wrap. Chicken Shawarma (5/5): The chicken shawarma tasted more balanced to me overall. I don't recall the meat being dry, although I did also slather it with a bit of hummus. I thoroughly enjoyed this wrap. Fries side (5/5): Their fries are made in house and it tastes so fresh. It was crispy on the outside yet still gooey and moist on the inside. I'm not sure if they make their own ketchup too, as it looked clumpier and tasted really fresh too. The kids gobbled this up. Hummus and pita (5/5): It came with a generous amount of both hummus and pita. The hummus was well flavored and blended, and it really complemented everything on the table. The pocket pita bread was not what I had in mind (I'm used to thicker ones), but the kids really loved it overall. Ice cream (4.5/5): We ordered two scoops from the dessert menu. They were both really thick, creamy and almost chewy like liquidized mochi. It was a very interesting texture but nonetheless a nice tasty treat on a hot day. I much preferred the vanilla bean, as the pistachio tasted and looked rather artificial (and I'm a pistachio ice cream lover). This place had so many to-go orders during the afternoon we were there. I can see why. Food is super fresh and tasty. I think we will be back the next time we are visiting.
