The food was okay. My issue was with the service, the place looks trendy, some water cooler water fell on my head as we walked in but I didn't really care I was excited and happy to be there. When we walked in we weren't really greeted or acknowledged. We decided to sit down, and order. Food came out shortly after, we noticed a manager/or the cook came out and walked over to every table and skipped ours. Then our waitress did the same thing. She didn't check in or anything after we were served we were missing a set of utensils and just wanted more water. We were never topped off or anything. In order to pay the tab since nobody checked in on us we just walked up to the register. It was not long before closing and was winding down but there was no attentiveness. We really felt like we were being singled out as we did look a bit different than everyone else in there. We wouldn't return just because of the service. The food was okay, I got a fried chicken sandwich and it was light. I didn't feel sick afterwards, my girlfriend said the egg Benedict was pretty okay. Not worth sitting through that experience again made us uncomfortable. We ended up leaving a pretty decent tip even though the service did not deserve it, we chalked it up to just being a bad day for them and called it a day. After all the hype I drove From San Luis for two big ass cinnamon rolls and will never make that mistake again. They were absolutely awful! The dough was tough and hard and tasteless. And they are not cheap to boot. I am currently cutting them up and trying to doctor up this disaster. So needless to say I will not be back to try anything else. read more

We were looking for a way to support local and have a Christmas celebration during these crazy times. We decided to sample the menu from Libelula and were not disappointed! First, the cinnamon roll is everything you want it to be - huge, delicious, messy, sticky and AMAZING!! We ordered tots with Korma sauce and Garlic Parmesan sauce, Steak with tots, fried chicken biscuits and the pomegranate toast. The flavors were so spot on - deliciously balanced and with a great combination of ingredients. The sauces were flavorful and perfectly seasoned. Everything, including the sunnyside up eggs were perfectly cooked. I highly recommend this great little restaurant - could be the best kept secret in Fresno!! read more

The location of this restaurant has charmed me from the start. When I heard maybe a year or two back that this space was available right next to the historic Crest Theatre in Downtown Fresno, I thought, wow. I hope a creative business owner sees the potential and makes it something truly special. Well, my friends, my hopes seem to have been met! Libelula is a place you might expect to see in a more artsy, edgy downtown, like Santa Cruz's or Berkeley's (in the best way). I am so excited for this place to be in Fresno! The menu is eclectic, delicious and creative. There are vegan, vegetarian, and options for meat eaters. They offer breakfast items as well as lunch as they are open 9 am to 3 pm Monday through Saturday. And I went on 11 am on a Saturday and almost every table on the small interior was full. This is a big thing for weekend life in DTF! And I appreciate them being open on Saturdays as our downtown businesses still largely are open Monday through Friday. The service and the food myself and my table received was wonderful. I will definitely be returning and I plan to order something totally different each time as their menu really does have several unique and enticing sounding options. read more

Finally made it out to try this place after drooling over their Instagram pictures for months. It lived up to expectations. I tried the maple sriracha chicken sandwich and the "big ass cinnamon roll." The chicken was cooked perfectly and the breading wasn't too thick, it tasted like chicken and waffles in the best possible way. My only complaint was that the bread used for the sandwich was too soft and got too soggy by the time I got to the second half. The sandwich came with their Korma tots, tater tots with a homemade curry ketchup dressing. The tots were crisp and not at all greasy and the ketchup was delicious with the curry powder twist. If you like a sweet Heinz ketchup, this might catch you off guard. Finished off the meal with their cinnamon rolls, they were not lying about the size, it was bigger than my head. The roll itself had a nice crisp crust and buttery soft inside and the icing was not too sweet or thick. The waitstaff was very friendly, a little slow, but they apologized over and over for any extra wait time. Overall a great experience and I will be back to try their French toast and eggs Benedict, just wish they were open in the evenings as well. read more

Your palette will never be the same after a visit here! My go to is the Thai Mac and Cheese and it's a beautiful thing. I love it so much I really can't bring myself to order anything else. Of course I'll trade bites for tastes of what other people with me ordered though. Everything has such flavor and it's fresh and local and made with skill and most of all love. Just happened to select off of Hwy 99. So very happy and delighted. The nicest staff and decor ambiance energy. The best. I'm so over toast of any kind even tho I'm an old school toast fan. They had the very best toast! With pumpkin ricotta pepitas pomegranate arils and delish honey etc. husband had the standard breakfSt loved it. Coffe delish. Saw other patrons dishes looked so fab! Seriously the best meal I've had out in a long time. Great hipster character. Tried 3 vegan menu items and they were all a 5! The shiitake mushrooms with ginger hoisin was the best recipe treatment I've ever had on a shiitake. The cauliflower achiote tacos were so fresh and flavorful! The tots with mole sauce were awesome too-I would have loved a little hot salsa drizzled on them but other than that -the bomb! Go there and support this place! I was in town on business and stumbled upon this place via yelp. My server was polite and pleasant, and the food was awesome. The place is super charming and comfortable. I had the pork belly ban mi. When I walked into this totally cute, artsy place I was slightly offended by the warmth and the amount of noise, not to mention the smell. It almost made me feel nauseous, but I walked here to try this place because of the reviews and I wasn't going to leave without trying it. I asked for the tomato grilled cheese. It came open faced, on soggy bread, with far too much cheese and musty tasting sautéed mushrooms. I ate a few bites,but really couldn't do more. The tatertots that came as a side were pretty yummy, though not anything to get excited about, and the ketchup sauce they came with had a funny taste that I still can't figure out. Bomb. I don't know how I'd describe the cuisine other than to say it's fusion. A mix of Asian and typical American fare. And yet more. I ordered the Thai Mac n Cheese and it was amazing. It was creamy and slightly spicy, mixed with some Asian ingredients and topped with kimchi that didn't overpower the dish. Amazing!!! After hearing so much about the cinnamon rolls we decided to try them and I must say it was very disappointing. The cinnamon roll was hard to cut and when we finally got it cut it tasted very chewy.
