Been wanting to check this place out and a very good friend was in town so we both hit the spot and give it our critique (my friend was already here many times and their Bahrain locations so was just there for support) I really wanted to buy one of everything because it looked too damn good. A fancy bakery with delicious pastries, but on the pricey side--small space and quite crowded! I came across this bakery on an Instagram reel and was excited to give it a try on a Sunday morning. As you can see from my photos, there was a line outside. We slowly made our way in and eventually reached the counter. The ordering process was straightforward--you select your pastries, they bag them, you pay for everything (including coffee and sandwiches) at the counter, and then wait for your coffee and sandwich to be prepared. The downside? There was no seating, and the place was packed. We waited quite a while for the sandwich--long enough that we had nearly finished our coffee and eaten half of our pastries before it even arrived, making us wonder if ordering the sandwich was the right call. That said, the cappuccino and pistachio-rose croissant were tasty, though I did notice a slight eggy smell in the croissant. The highlight for me was the roasted beet sandwich--it was flavorful and well-made. The coffee was decent, nothing exceptional. It's a real pleasure to come into this bakery and appreciate the aroma of incredible bread and pastries. I really appreciate that there's a choice of both sweet and savory selections, I prefer the savory and while they are a minority of choices, there are enough of them. We've enjoyed breakfast here and have had the chickpea sandwich. The bread is delicious and the chickpeas, feta, arugula and egg make for a very satisfying experience. The coffee is also quite good. It's not amazing, but it's very good. Certainly better than you'll find in most bakeries that are not primarily coffee shops. I've had many of their pastries including the Rose Pistachio croissant, Za'atar Labneh bun, Feta dill scone, and Loomi Babka bun. They are all excellent. The service is wonderful. The lines can become very long and so if you go late morning especially on the weekend, expect a wait. The people helping you are great. Once you get to speak with them they are totally customer oriented and friendly. This isn't easy after speaking with several hundred New Yorkers who have been waited in line for a while. The ambience is OK. The outside tables aren't great, the inside tables aren't plentiful. You get to see where the food is made in back, that's nice. The place is immaculately clean. I spoke with Chris the GM and we discussed the potential for them to serve French Toast. Their breads are amazing and so that dish would be a total winner. Another bakery that comes highly recommended when asking around, so it was quickly added to my list. It's a cute little shop with indoor seating, outlets to charge your phone, AND WATER! This was one of the few places I visited that had free water cups for paying customers. That seems like a taboo option these days in ny. The case had ample options from both laminated to non laminated options. I went with a pistachio croissant and the sticky toffee date oat cookie situation. The croissant was maybe 3.5 stars. Nothing super remarkable but a decent croissant nonetheless. For me the showing the star was that damn cookie. The perfect texture, chewy, well seasoned, good balance. I mean my god was it a home run. I saved it and ate it when I arrived back at the airport and regret doing so because k couldn't get another one.
