May Sat lunch review Beautiful location ! Got seated promptly Imho they have 4 MVP dishes - ceviche, rotisserie chicken, Lomo Saltado & Empanadas! Their Sangria is a must try ! Try their Panna Cotta and Tres leche from the desserts - Yumm ! The manager Jose and his staff were very professional We will be back !! - Muchas Gracias

Everything was sooo good. We ordered the staples, chicken, rice, yucca and each empanada. I hadn't been here in a long time and I'll be back sooner to try more dishes. We just missed happy hour, but thankfully we were able to get seated without a reservation.

A fun vibe , yummy food, and staff is always welcoming. However, I do NOT frequent this place like I did 3 years ago. The prices have increased and the amount of food decreased. I decided to give it one more chance and ordered the 1/4 dark meat Pollo a la Brasa.. again disappointment! I received the smallest piece of chicken and even mentioned it to the waiter.. wow.. Limon I will miss you, bye!

Nice interior and pleasant service. I like most of what we ordered- octopus dish was tasty and tender, crispy pork came with a very palatable fried rice, paella had generous protein, beed rib looks dry but it was not, ceviche was refreshing and acted like a palate cleaner. The only thing I regret ordering was their Pollo Ala Brasa- the akin tasted good but the actual meat is very dry. I would go back but will not order the chicken.

Had a great lunch yesterday. We were welcomed right when we arrived and seated near the large window looking out to the street. Our server was very friendly and service was excellent. We started with their Passion Fruit Pisco Sour. Lucious frothy egg white foam topped a yummy passionfruit base. Next we had the Limon Ceviche plate, served with Taro chips, Chicken Empanadas, Camarones Crocantes and Truffle Mac and Cheese. Food was all delicious, well seasoned and flavorful.

Amazing as always. The Lomo Saltado never disappoints. I could probably eat it every day even though I definitely shouldn't. It was a lively night to be there as we forgot it was Mother's Day when we made the reservation, oops.

Limon has generally been a decent experience for me, though I've often felt the pricing doesn't quite match the quality of the food. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was especially disappointing. I ordered the Lomo Saltado for takeout, and even within a few bites before leaving, I noticed I was having to chew a lot more than usual. The texture was both rubbery and dry, and it required far more chewing than expected. After getting home, I set a few pieces aside to take a closer look, and parts of the meat also appeared undercooked. The texture issues were already present before I left the restaurant, even after I gently reheated the dish at home. Overall, the dish fell well below what I would expect. Another issue from this visit was the inconsistency with takeout service. In my recent experiences over the past couple of weeks, utensils are rarely offered unless specifically asked for, and in most cases not mentioned at all during pickup. It feels like an oversight in the pickup process that should be more consistently handled, either by including utensils automatically or at least asking the customer. Considering everything from this experience, it's unlikely I'll be ordering the Lomo Saltado again.

First visit food we ate and in a week we did our second time there having been such Burlingame food fan, we never step into this place until this April (2026)

Fabulous from top to bottom. Service was top end and the ceviche, empanadas, flat iron steak, and chicken were sound and delicious. The place can get a little loud so keep that in mind if you are looking for a place that is more reserved. It's has a good atmosphere here!

Limon is always good, everytime we go. It was a nice sunny day so we went for lunch and shared the seafood platter, and got a couple cocktails. The conchitas were my favorite. Even when they look busy, the longest I've ever waited was maybe 15 minutes. The service, food, and drinks are always on point. Will definitely keep returning!

I came here for dinner with my family. It's a bit overpriced for what you get, and the meat was on the dry side. Food is a little bit bland. The ceviche was the best part of the meal. Not the best overall, but still decent. Our server was very friendly too and kept checking in on us. It was such a busy night with lots of customers.

The food was like "bouquets" of seafood, the way they plattered it. I've had amazing seafood, but the seafood dishes we had at Limón were extraordinary! The color pops in the food presentation were just as vibrant as the Peruvian culture itself. Some of those dishes were enough for two. The combo appetizer alone could've been a meal. Plus their cocktails - whoa! Can I call them healthy? Ahaaaha, well their mocktails certainly were. We had wonderful service by informative waiters. The feel is what I'd call elegant casual. All the decor on their walls and tiling around their bar area are beautiful! Limón in Burlingame is well-located in a corner with entrances on both facing streets. It's right behind a parking lot and directly across additional parking closer to the water. A good amount of indoor and outdoor seating is accessible. This area is hoppin'! Surrounded by local specialty shops, more restaurants, and bakeries - anyone living in the neighboring residential streets are mighty lucky! My cousins wanted to treat me for a super duper belated. I think I'm lucky too. I am giddy over this dining experience!

    Whole Chicken ($38)

Been here a bunch of times and Limon continues to be a solid option on the corner of Burlingame Ave. Most recently came on a Thursday around 6pm and were seated immediately without a reservation, which was a nice surprise. The space itself is lively but not chaotic, and it's one of those places that works just as well for a casual weeknight dinner as it does for a low-key date. This visit, my husband and I shared the Jalea ($24) to start and ordered the whole chicken ($38). We subbed the house salad for their signature chifa vegetables (worth the extra $2). The Jalea is a classic fried seafood platter - nothing mind-blowing, but you really can't go wrong with it and it's great for sharing. The chicken is where Limon usually shines. It was cooked perfectly, super juicy, and shredded apart easily. That said, I'm personally not a huge fan of their aji amarillo sauce. It's bold and tends to overpower the already well-seasoned chicken. The chifa vegetables are a must-order every time. Savory and easily one of the best sides on the menu. I've also had their ceviche and lomo saltado on past visits, both of which were excellent and among the safer bets here. Service has consistently been attentive and efficient, even when the restaurant is busy. My only real knock is that it's a bit pricey for what you get, especially if you're ordering multiple dishes or drinks. That said, the quality and consistency usually make it worth it. Overall, a dependable Burlingame staple that I keep coming back to, especially when I'm craving Peruvian flavors and a comfortable, energetic atmosphere.

Their rotisserie chicken with rice should be gluten free! Just ask for no sauce. I would double check with the restaurant to make sure.

Do you recommend making reservations or even accept reservations?

No, because they might just cancel your reservations last minute like they did for my family on Mother's Day.

Are you not on opentable any longer?

Hello, we are no longer on OpenTable. Thank you very much for your support.

Do they have a dessert menu?

Yes, they do - four deserts and few desert wines. Look under the menu photos on yelp - there are few pictures of a small desert menu. I am pretty sure it doesn't change much - it was the same few times I went.

The restaurant was a little more than half full when we had dinner there on a Friday night and the ambiance is lively but not loud. We ordered a variety of dishes and everything was delicious, with very generous portion sizes that left us so full (with leftovers to spare). The ceviches were bright, limey, and tart in the best way, the chicken wings were crispy and juicy, the papa rellena was especially interesting (almost like an inside-out, deep-fried baked potato) with olives and raisins that were a pleasant surprise, and the lomo saltado was as comforting and dependable as it usually is. To top it all off, they even offer Peruvian beers, which was the perfect way to wash everything down. The location is a little bit odd but easy enough to find and park (there is plenty of parking across the main street in front of the BevMo if there isn't any directly in front of the restaurant).

After a while they asked about it. Lost in translation. Their order never placed with the kitchen. For dessert we got the alfajores. A sandwich cookie with a layer of dulce de leche. It was very sweet. Would have been better with a strong cup of coffee. I also received a complimentary scoop of ice cream in honor of my birthday. There are some parking spaces in front of the restaurant. We circled around the block. Ended up on the same side of the street but about one long block away. The five of us said the food was delicious and we'd like to return.

This time we were a party of 4 and were celebrating a birthday which they acknowledged and thoughtfully wished happy birthday to our celebrated guest. This time I ordered the ceviche limeño, which was a mix of shrimp, white fish, octopus and calamari served with crunchy corn, soft corn and sweet potato marinated in a delicious sauce with a hint of spice (the base tasted similar to leche de Tigre) Other guests in my party ordered the whole roasted cauliflower with eggplant puree, and the rice with shrimp. Both were delicious. I tried two new alcohol-free drinks: guayaba healer (guava, lime and tajin) and the red October. Both were tasty, however for non alcoholic drinks $12 is a little steep, particularly for the red October which is served in a fluted cup and has a lot less volume than the other non-alcoholic drinks. We ordered two desserts, both were excellent: the suspiro loco with cotton candy and Dulce de leche, strawberries and crumbled graham cracker-like cookies, was crazy and fun, yet well balanced. The second dessert was the tapioca tropical, which is a tapioca pudding with toasted coconut, raspberry and ice cream, which was not too sweet and quite delicious. We got a complimentary coconut tres leches for the birthday guest, which was also delectable. As for the service, it was definitely improved compared to last time, yet not seamless. We decided on La Mar. I had been many years ago and remember it being good. Only the bar area is open from 3-5 during the weekdays. Service started fine with our server being attentive and quick. They even came around right before 5 and asked us if we wanted another round of drinks before happy hour ended. We both decided to get a glass of wine. About 10-15 minutes later, we were still on our first drinks when the server came back and told us we needed to close out and leave. I was surprised by this sudden interruption so I asked for clarification. I thought maybe they were changing shifts so we just needed to close out. They said no, we needed to close out and leave because they need the table back. I again asked for more details. I explained we still had our wines we hadn't touched, the bar was more than half empty and they should have told us when we sat down if there was a time limit with the table. At that point, they didn't know what to say so I asked for a manager. At first no one came back except the server who still insisted we pay. So I reluctantly told them i will close out our bill but we'd like to finish our wine before leaving. They then said that was fine, we could stay. A few minutes later another person came to our table and apologized for the miscommunication. They said something about getting us mixed up with another table who had a reservation for dinner there, then told us we can stay as long as we'd like as long as they got the table back for a 6:15 reservation. I'm not sure how the mix-up occurred but what a poor way to end an otherwise solid experience. Drinks and the ceviche we had were all delicious.
