Overall, it is very clean, very well lit, and can get pretty busy at lunch - a line will form, but it moves rather quickly. Bathroom: didn't use it (not sure if they have one for customers...) Staff: Everyone was very friendly and helpful, and fast! I ordered, waited for my friend to order, meandered my way towards the cashier and my food was waiting for me. I was impressed! Food: I had Protein + 2sides (kale and sprouts) and it was delicious! Honestly, this place reminds me of Roast Kitchen and that is because they both have GREAT, healthy food. A meal will put you over the $10 average mid-town lunch mark and, if you make a huge mistake like I did, the sky is the limit. The Little Beet deserves a review update. I've been here several times since the gross beet salad and have thoroughly enjoyed my lunch ever since. Armed frequently with free PayPal credit, of course. They accept both PayPal and LevelUp, making life easy for some people. Kale salad - quite a satisfying salad, though lacking in ingredients. However, this simple salad is delicious mostly due to the pecorino and lemon vinagrette. The blackcurrants go well with the mix, but this isn't that filling for the price. Cauliflower leek soup - this is so good. Especially on a frigid winter day, this soup soothes the soul and goes well with the kale salad. Protein + 2 sides - in my case, salmon, cauliflower, and sweet potatoes. All of it was amazing. The crazy $14+ after tax price tag aside, this was quite the satisfying lunch. The salmon was pan cooked fresh and was crispy on the outside without being too greasy. The cauliflower had a curry powder base with lemon and was crunchy. The sweet potato was baked perfectly and had a nice sweet and salty taste to it. I wouldn't compare Little Beet to Dig Inn at all... I feel like the food at LB is way more basic. Dig Inn just has more acceptable price tags to their food. Also, get the hot sauce! It's more of a sweet/spicy sauce than a hot sauce... not really that spicy at all but goes well with the chicken and salmon. Line for lunch is ridiculous - beware. I have had the chicken and the salmon, and much prefer the salmon. I came in here 1) in a rush, 2) with extreme dietary constraints. Not once did someone roll their eyes. It's annoying and embarrassing enough to have to ask a million questions, it makes going out a pain. Not here! They were so accommodating and friendly. Even though all of their protein is done in a marinade that contains soy they were able to go in the back and find me an unmarinated salmon fillet. I had some of the delicious Happy Slaw and they topped it with some ginger, nori, sesame and voila! I had a beautiful paleo meal. Big shout out to Rob and Issa again. The salmon is also cooked well every time I've gotten it. I'm impressed with the consistency of the food. Their garlic sauce is also bomb! The wraps are a little weird, I don't recommend those. Especially when you can get a tray with so many different delicious options. I don't like most of their drinks, but no matter, they offer infused water which is great! The Little Beet is one of my favorite healthy lunch options near work. Regardless of your dietary restrictions, you'll probably be able to find something tasty to eat here. Unless, of course, you subsist on fried foods or anything-smothered-in-all-the-cheese. Otherwise, you're probably good. I have two friends with Celiac who have even been able to join me for lunch here, which is great because a place like that can be hard to find. So if it's a favorite, why am I giving it only 3 stars? Because it can get pretty nutso in there. You have the regular line where you queue up to put your order in with one of the folks at the registers in the back of the place and pay. You can choose from several grain, protein, and healthy side offerings in addition to toppings and sauces. Your order and name automatically get printed out for the folks preparing the food. Next you proceed to the pickup area by the front where, eventually after your order has gone down the line, they call out your name and you can grab & go. There's also a pretty decent amount of seating if you'd prefer to dine in. Where it all goes wrong for me is that originally when there was only the old-fashioned way to get food (show up in person with money) the place would already get jam-packed during peak times. Several times the folks at the register have even forgotten to put in my whole order in their haste to reduce the queue or someone on the prep line rushed and forgot something in my order, which I wouldn't notice until I was back at work 6 blocks away. Now that there are also several online ordering options, and they have to accommodate at least three of those in addition to the regular line, the pickup area can get totally insane. No place to stand, no way to actually reach your food once they've called your name without physically nudging other folks in a confused clump with also no place to stand. Unless I'm going to hunt and kill my own broccoli, I might have to visit The Little Beet at off-peak times from now on. That or see if the online pickup options are a better situation. read more

This place has really gone downhill. It used to be my go-to for healthy food and their assembly-line-type process was super-efficient--and the food was great. Lately, the efficiency is way down and the line has become very chaotic. There is no supervisor in sight, the people behind the counter look like they couldn't care less, and the food is often limp or charred. On my last two _consecutive_ visits (once ordered in person and once ordered ahead online), they lost my order. Since no one seems to be in charge, it takes forever to get someone's attention to locate the order in their queue and have it made. Very sad to see this place go downhill so quickly.
