Litz, I do adore. I come here for one thing and one thing only - their delicious baked pork chops covered by a mesmerizing sauce, accompanied by a few broccoli pieces and onion slices. I believe it's called "yer chong jui pa" (translates to baked pork steak) -- it tastes like the pork chops have been fried twice and you can taste the layers of yummy. This plate is enough to serve two people - save money folks, & bring a friend or significant other! Service is super friendly, especially if you're not fluent in Cantonese. The place looks a little odd because there's no cash register within plain sight - don't worry though, these folks are down-to-earth and trustworthy. Parking isn't too big of a deal - I would rely on street parking because their parking lot can fit like 4 cars. However, unfortunately, this place doesn't get too much business because it has to compete with like 100 other restaurants within 2 blocks. This little restaurant is often packed and it's not hard to see why. Their 'signature' rice vermecelli (chow mai fun) is indescribably good, probably why every table seems to have an order of it. It looks really non-descript when it arrives, just your usual vermecelli with some egg and shrimp, sprouts etc. However, the taste is so good you'll probably devour an entire order on your own. I came here because one of my friends told me that they have a really good spicy rendang (beef curry)... I came, I tried, and I got addicted... But the padang beef curry is not for everyone, because it's so spicy (but still so yummy for me). And they have a good laksa, ask them to get the laksa w/ bihun (to make the noodles better)... You should try their fried singapore noodle - so good - it reminds me when I was still in S'pore... The only downturn is that all of the waiter and waitress, they speak poor English, the first time I came they took my order wrong... Wow....the Rice noodle was amazing!! A pre-lunch we had since we were visiting southern California for my cousins baptism. This place is definatly small, but the food was great!! The signature dish which was the noodle, was packed with flavor!! We each ordered over rice dishes. The pepper chicken over rice was a bit salty, but tasty. The Good: - Singaporean rice noodle is flavorful and definitely is the best dish I tried (also had the chow fun version but the rice noodle is definitely much better) - Spicy chicken wings are flavorful and crispy even as leftovers. I put some in the over to heat up a day later and they were still good The Bad: - Grease, grease, and more grease... - the laska isn't that great but it's better than Yasmin which isn't saying much - food is inconsistent in taste. Ordered laksa brrf brisket and a beef pandeng. They both taste very nice especially the laksa. The taste is exactly those I had in singapore. Beef brisket is so tender and juicy too. Beef pandeng is a little bit salty in my personal perfernce. Service is OK. I deducted one star because of the rotten smell in the restaurant. The smell is so strong when I first walked in. Was introduced to this place recently and my first impression was that the food is outstanding! Decided that this would be my new takeout go to, due to the pandemic. Did my first work team take out and the dishes were delicious HOWEVER the order were all incorrect. I ordered 3 baked pork chop and 1 Chinese style pork chop however I received 3 Chinese style PC and 1 bake PC. Just came here today for lunch with some friends. I ordered the Spicy Garlic Lamb Chop with Spahetti (I think they meant Spaghetti). I ordered it medium rare. My entre was a little less than $10, which is not too bad for lamb, IMO. I also ordered lemon ice tea. The lemon ice tea was super sweet, even after I poked the lemon. There were three pieces of lamb chop. The first one I cut into was pretty rare, more rare than medium rare. The other two were medium rare. I thought the sauce was okay. A lot of garlic, which is good but very fatty tasting. The lamb chops were served on top of a pile of onions, yum! love onions. Also came with a few pieces of broccoli. Maybe the lamb chops would have tasted better with black pepper sauce. The spaghetti had actual spaghetti sauce, not the orangey reddish sauce they have at other asian cafes. Though this sauce wasn't really flavorful and I had to add maggi and tampatio (they didn't have tabasco!! TT__TT) to amp up the flavor. The servers weren't attentive. Even though I was raising my hand for a while trying to get their attention. I know, I'm like a school kid but I can't help it. I don't know what else to do to get a server's attention. A nice portion, decent price but I would not come here again unless I have a group of friends who want to come, thenn I would just go along with them. read more

I wanted to give this place a better rating because the owner was nice, but I just have to go off the food and the flavor. Some of the food simply lacked flavor, a few were close to bland. The Good: The fried chicken wings and the chili pepper pork chop. The beef and eggs over rice was good, the gravy was a nice touch. But the Singaporean noodles, and the mac and sausage were missing that bite.. everything was fresh, but it's just that it could've used a little extra something to get it going. One of my favorite places in SGV ... the decor is really old and really outdated. It's like a hole in the wall so just be prepared when you go. I used to go here when I was ten and it still looks exactly the same. The Singaporean Seafood Rice Noodle is amazing with their spicy chili sauce. Their Laksa is also another great dish with it's curry broth. Another favorite is their garlic butter chicken wings. It's probably something that can give you a heart attack but they are absolutely delicious. All of their rice noodle dishes are amazing. Their Black Bean Sauce Rice Noodle or Satay Rice Noodles are all great with lots of sauce to compliment the dish that you never get dry noodles. They also offering catering for parties which makes things easy. Don't expect good service since you won't find it here but you just have to go for the food. HOUSE SPECIAL PORTUGUESE CHICKEN RICE - doesn't come in the traditional portuguese dish; just comes in a plate - the chicken was grilled with the sauce on top - the dish was decent but not anything special BEEF STEW CURRY WITH SPAGHETTI - the curry is more like a sauce than anything - the beef was tender - comes with carrots but no potatoes HONEY LEMON TEA: - subpar to other places in the SGV area - would not recommend here SERVICE: HORRIBLE. The workers forget your requests. We asked for water and to serve the Red Bean Dessert at the end, but instead they brought the dessert in the beginning. We ordered the Portuguese chicken rice which also comes with a choice of soup, lemon ice tea or thai tea. We weren't asked which one we wanted until we were served the dish! Also they bought that Portuguese Chicken Rice dish to us, then realized they set it to the wrong table and gave it to the other table. Though what doesn't make sense to me is that we ordered BEFORE them. Also sadness for NO free soup. ENVIRONMENT: pretty old school establishment. They probably didn't remodel since the early 90s. The booth chairs lost all the cushion and for some reason I feel so much taller when I stand in there. The spacing between the tables and the chairs are not suitable for bigger people. Overall, the restaurant is decent to visit. There is a good amount of items to choose from. Also there aren't very many Singaporean food places in the area. The service was pretty bad. More so compared to the last time I visited Litz. They don't have as many lunch specials here (ie include a drink or soup). WARNING, cannot eat their special chili fish fillet without rice. The special chili that comes with that dish goes perfectly with white rice. Litz was a pleasant surprise! My husband and I were craving Laksa the other day and found this place from Yelp. We both ordered the Laksa with vermicelli noodles. The portions are HUGE! The Laksa was only $6.50 and it comes with 3 shrimps, some chicken slices, fried tofu, half an egg, and bean sprouts. The broth is very tasty and reminds us of Indonesia longton. I used to love this place and come here to have my lunch almost every single day, for awhile I have not been back, today I pass by and have my late lunch here again, I remember they used to be one of the best Pandang beef curry in town, The sauce was so rich and so tasty, that's ancient history now. Today I went back again to order the same dish again, Unfortunately it's not the same anymore, they actually watery down the sauce like totally soup base, when I try to complain to the waitress she even tried to lie to me that it been like this for the last 20 years. I was so upset just get up paid the bill and walk out. Taste of the food was ok but it was really hard to get over how dirty and smelly the place was. When you first walk in it literally smells like a men's urinal. The furniture is very dated and the flooring looks like it's been to war. Take a trip to the bathroom and it may scare you enough to leave. I had the major runs after eating here probably bc the rice was old and stale or maybe it was the shrimp they left out. Either way there is no grade posted so who knows what kind of deficiencies they have Only reason I give it a 2 star instead of one is because my kids liked the noodles. This is a Singaporean Chinese place that has regional specialties. I always get the Singapore fried noodles, either regular or veggie. If you order veggie it tends to be a bit fresher, because it's not on the menu and they have to make it special. note: This place has a special chili oil that they make in house. You have to ask for it. The chunky part of this oil on the noodles, MAKES THE DISH! The Chinese Broccoli with Oyster sauce is amazing. The special fried fish is also amazing and I've never had someone say they didn't like it. Try the hot water with honey and lemon to drink! read more

Haven't been here in years (as in a decade or more) and found it again on account of a friend's recommendation. And boy, I wasn't disappointed! After that recent visit, I went back for another with family and yet another for catering to a class that I attend. Their pandang beef is really good - nicely flavored and just enough heat to keep it interesting. I don't know if this is really authentic Singaporean, but I don't really care. It is GOOD. Their laksa and the singaporean fried noodles/vermicelli are delicious as well. In fact, I ordered their fried noodles in a half-tray to took it to class and everyone liked it. A big hit, I believe. This place has been around for as long as I 've been in the U.S. The restaurant is not the nicest and cleanest inside..but the food is very original and tasty. There are three dishes we ALWAYs ALWAYs order: 1. SIngapore fried noodles - everyone orders this..n it tastes the same for the past 20 years...delicious! 2. minced beef with egg - it's a very simple dish, yet they make it to perfection. 3. laksa - singapore soup noodles - I love this. So good! I just found out recently that they have different combinations of this noodle. We had the laksa with rice cakes and the regular Singaporean spicy laksa plus some Chinese sausage fried rice. The laksa broth was great, but the noodles were pretty lackluster. This is your typical Hong Kong Cafe except for a few things: It's been around many years It's sort of a small place and not even a little fancy inside They have a sort of emphasis on Singaporean food Food is average, that isn't the point of a Hong Kong cafe - it's comfort food and a large selection to choose from. If the place was really nice inside, that would warrant an extra star in the rating, or if they offered something unusual (for example Baccali offers house-roasted rotisserie chicken) that would warrant another star. read more
