    Iced Chai Latte. @ojbaylen

They seem to be always out of bagels after 1:30pm. It's the third time! But they made my "Locals Only" cream cheese, egg & cheddar in a croissant instead! Still yummy! I can never go wrong w/ my iced chai latte. I like how they have a station where i can add as much cinnamon and vanilla to my drink too! Not so much seating inside but definitely more outside! They are open 6am-3pm all days!

Honestly a super cute shop but the barista with the inside-out shirt, rosy cheeks, and dark hair made my visit here awful. Aside from the rudeness and clear disdain for being there, she made the mocha I ordered carelessly. Received it with a mountain of sugar crystals at the bottom that stuck to the inside of the straw with every sip. I've ordered the same drink at the other Local Grind and I KNOW the version I received today was not supposed to taste like liquid diabetes. Aside from that , 4 tables inside and there are outlets! Look low. They offer self serve tap water and free coffee grounds for your garden. There's a variety of merch available and tasty pastries.

The service was amazing! I love going back to places where there's good service. I tried the triple chocolate shake and it was, well, very chocolatey! We also got a 24 oz white chocolate with raspberry foam and got a 16 oz but since it was made already we didn't feel the need to have it remade. Even though there was a small mistake, the drinks and service were too good to not come back!

First timer here! I am always up to trying new coffee spots. The cafe is clean, cool and quiet. Not a whole lot of seating but there is indoor and outdoor seating. The iced white mocha coffee was delicious. The staff was really sweet and nice.

I think the workers are very nice. However I wouldn't recommend it for coffee, the iced coffee and the latter I had didn't have much flavor at all. I would recommend a sandwich from them though I liked that the bagel bread wasn't very thick and too much bread. We got the bacon cheddar bread for our sandwiches and it was really good. I would say my bf sandwich of the sausage was kind of dry I would maybe get the bacon omelette breakfast instead. But I'd recommend the ham and cheese sandwich it was yummy

Iced latte with oat milk & mint My coffee has a slight green tint due to the yummy mint flavor. They don't drown their drink in ice. The coffee, mint flavor shines through. The ham and cheese croissant, the layers are flaky, not too much butter, and good balance of ham and cheese. Fast service and friendly staff

This coffee shop is everything I would expect from a local coffee shop. I had their lox bagel - very good, definitely recommend. I also had a latte and that was also yummy. It's not the closest shop to me, so not sure if I would go out of my way to visit again, but if I were in the area I definitely would dine in again. Great stuff @ Local Grind Coffee & Cafe!

Upon walking in got greeted. A little busy. I ordered a pumpkin cheesecake and vegan blueberry streusel along with the Mexican horchata. I craved some coffee ,but didn't want to go to my local Starbucks. I have been craving a vegan Sweet and this was the placed that called my attention. Total $24 for all three. Cashier friendly. We were in the area and in need of some caffeine ASAP. Local Grind just happened to pop up in our Yelp search so we made a quick u-turn to arrive to a busy cafe. The place smelled great and if we had had time, we would have gotten a bite to eat; the bagels looked delicious. I could tell that this lives up to its name with the number of what looked like locals hanging out and enjoying their breakfasts. I just had my standard oat milk latte and it was made just right, i.e., not a hint of charred or burnt taste. If we're back in the area, I'll return to try some food.

$12 for this simple turkey sandwich. Found this place overpriced sadly. Didn't try their drinks though.

iced matcha latte and a "build your own" sandwich on a rustic roll (ciabatta bread)

chill, local spot for coffee, bagels, and drinks. i like that they make everything to order, so it does take a while to get your food on a weekend. it's not too bad tho. i got their iced matcha latte with a vanilla bean cold foam and a build your own sandwich. it seems they change their flavors every so often, so it keeps the menu fresh. if you're coming here to get work done tho, it's hard. there's only one table that has an outlet available.

Besides, for the next (insert the duration of your cruise here) days you'll be eating at the buffet a least once a day. No need to start Buffeting it up before you step foot on the Lido deck. That's what brought us to 5th Ave Bagelry. Located less than 1/2 mile from our hotel, it was an easy walk down the surprisingly un-busy streets of Long Beach, CA at 9:00 on a Thursday morning. 5th Ave Bagelry has A LOT of varieties of bagels. To put a number to it, about 25 different varieties of bagels, all made fresh on site daily. Add to that, 8 different flavours of cream cheese and you've got nearly endless bagel-and-cream-cheese options. To be fair, you're not limited to bagel & cream cheese. They also offer breakfast bagel sandwiches and non-breakfast bagel sandwiches and a few specialty items. Even though it was 9:00 in the morning I was tempted to try a pizza bagel but I resisted. The siren song of a jalapeño bagel with jalapeño cream cheese wins out every time. (This is a proven statistic. Just ask me.) They also offer an endless variety of coffees in just about every possible fashion (latte, espresso, iced, iced blended). Smoothies, juices, and soft drinks round out a very impressive selection of offerings. The staff at 5th Ave Bagelry appeared to be very focused. While they weren't swamped when we visited, they did have a steady influx of customers. It's an order-at-the-counter-and-we'll-call-your-number-when-it's-ready arrangement which seems to work well for them. All food is delivered in a paper bag. Our food delivery was about 10 minutes and everything was hot and accurate. My iced vanilla latte was exactly the go-juice I needed to jump start embarkation day. My jalapeño bagel with jalapeño cream cheese? Chef's kiss. I love jalapeño bagels that present a little spicy heat. The jalapeño cream cheese managed to round out my "Jim loves spicy food for breakfast" life choices. During our roughly 1/2 hour there I didn't see anyone come out from behind the counter to tidy up the dining room, which was needed. I'm assuming they had a pretty intense breakfast rush and just hadn't fully recovered yet, as one of the two trash bins was full. In a perfect world I'd be able to visit enough to try all of the bagels, but home isn't in Long Beach.

We wanted to try the simpler stuff on the menu. We got the just egg and sausage in a plain bagel and just egg and cheese and sausage on a Jalapeño bagel. I can't remember the last time we paid around $20 for a breakfast meal for two. They were both tasty but needed salt hot sauce and ketchup to be added. The best part is they have all this out for you to grab. Once we added it, it was so good. The portion size for the price is incredible. No way did I think I would pay 6.99 for a big bagel, a large piece of egg and 2 pieces of sausage. It was such a great price. Now I am so excited to come and try others. But the prices do jump nearly double, but I think it will be worth it. Check out the menu pics I added to see the prices. It's hard to hear inside. We sat inside to eat since it was very clean and well maintained. They brought us our bagels but I think that was because we forgot to get up from being called. Again it was hard to hear but when the food came out it was all worth it! The jalapeño bagel did not shine as much. It tasted like a plain bagel with no spice even from the bits of jalapeños. This made me wonder if their sweet bagels are different. They recommend the Asiago bagel so maybe I'll try that for the next savory option. Honestly I don't know when they make the bagels but we came around 11am, try coming earlier and maybe the bagels will be fresher. By noon the line picked up, but it never got as busy as other stores around. I'm excited to come back and try the omelet sandwiches and other bagels!

Since then the grilled Reuben has been my measuring stick for every restaurant that serves it. It's a must! It shows the attention to detail. It's not a sandwich you can rush. It requires its own time to caramelize and set the flavors up properly. Just like a house made soup, a Grilled Reuben can tell you a lot. And, it just happens to be my favorite sandwich of all time! So. High marks on the store itself. It has a very open air feel, lots of natural lighting, high ceilings and then a hidden court yard behind the shop. It's very clean with lots of colors and art. The music is perfect for the space. The menu is varied and they have both alcoholic drinks and non alcoholic drinks. It's a deli. And they absolutely fill the roll perfectly. And as anyone will tell you, who frequents any deli in the country. What matters is the food. Period. All the niceties mean nothing if the food distant stand up. So... how did they do? Meh. I've had worse. Much worse. I've also had much better. And understand his is my personal opinion. I'm well aware that my comments will not reflect the opinion of everyone. But, the corned beef. They do not cook it in house. It didn't appear to be a brisket although with it being shaved as thinly as it is I don't know if that would help. Brisket corned beer works best when it's nice thick beautiful cuts that break apart and melt in your mouth. But. As you can see in the picture, they don't grill the corned beef but they do pile it pretty darn high. Which is nice. The sauerkraut wasn't grilled. The rye wasn't roasted long enough so the Swiss didn't properly melt and set. Not enough Thousand Island dressing. The rye has the perfect texture and it helps to very nicely. An excellent Jewish rye! The pesto pasta salad was very nice. And it looked as if the other sides were made with an equal amount of attention and love. So high marks there. This is one of those tough reviews because the reality is the atmosphere, the staff and the location are all excellent. The sandwich needs some work. Remember that the Grilled Reuben is the ONLY TRUE American Sandwich. It was created from scratch for the 1942 World's Fair in New York City. It's an original! Treat it with the respect it deserves. And this three star sandwich... of all sandwiches is a hard pass. Sorry. But, if you would ever like to have me come into your restaurant and show you how to serve the best Reuben of your life... just invite me back. I'd love to show you how to make some simple tweaks and turn a meh into a don't miss!
