I've known of Lodge Bread for years and finally had the chance to try it a couple weekends ago. Honestly, everything on the menu sounded so good and the pastries looked amazing as well. I ended up going for the shakshuka and a slice of some sort of citrus loaf for later. The shakshuka was so tasty but sooo hot! I actually burned the roof of my mouth with it, but it was so good that it didn't bother me. It's a hefty serving of food, so I actually had quite a bit left over. I'm no bread expert, but I thought the bread was pretty good too. Next time, I'd wanna try their ricotta toast. A cute little brunch spot that's definitely worth trying! Lodge, how I love thee, let me count the carbs! I could eat every single meal of every single day here and never get bored. I would get fat, but I wouldn't get bored. How could anyone get bored or waking up to a Cinnamon Roll the size of a yoga block with all that cream on top? For a lighter but filling lunch, try the Focaccia and don't skip the Hummus. It's an excuse to get the best Pita in the world! Their pizza is basically toppings on their pita, and omg. The Wild Mushroom has creamy taleggio to surround fragrant mushrooms, and the Spicy Sausage is amazing as well. You must never leave without the Wood Fire Romanesco. It's roasted beautifully, and the tahini is pure heaven. Take the Country Loaf home and have it any way with any thing! And be sure to grab a cookie or two. The Chocolate Chip Miso is the best, the perfect sweet n' salty. The Everything looks like birdseed, but the more nutty and savory notes are nice. Double Chocolate Chip! Lodge is quick service so you order at the counter and receive a number, and there's seating right in front (outdoors in the alcove of the restaurant), or tables lined along the street where you can sit and your food gets brought out. We tried the wild mushroom pizza & the fat pita sandwich - and both were phenom. Lodge is known for their bread so the crust & pita were amazing and fresh, and the flavors on both the pizza and sandwich were amazingly done too. The sandwich was a little more saucey than I like but I'm just not a huge sauce person. I wish I was hungrier so I could try more items, but I'll definitely be back! read more

During lunch hours, lines are very long, and a bit disorganized, so you can't tell who's ordering and who's waiting for seats and it feels very crowded. Ambience is part of the rating system, so I want to be fully transparent about the experience. if you consider it a dining adventure, you won't be disappointed. Went on a Sunday for lunch and fortunately there was little to no wait. There aren't that many tables available (outdoor seating only), so it may be hard to eat in at peak hours. You order with the cashier, receive a number, and they bring you your food to your table. The best sellers according to the cashier are the ricotta and jam toast (ordered), breakfast Sammie, and shakshuka (ordered). It took about 10 min to get our food after ordering, and let me tell you that the ricotta and jam did not disappoint. The ricotta was super rich and cold, while the jam was almost perfectly sweet (a bit sweet by itself). The toast was not bad, but I was expecting it to be better given their name implies their specialization in bread. As for the shakshuka, it was nothing special unfortunately. A bit bland, and was hoping it would have more flavor through seasonings. I would not recommend it.. unless it was an off day when I went. Please take it home and heat it up for 5 min at 350 degrees ( made it taste better than the cold version I tried ) It has a crispy and light airy feel . Both in the bread and also in the whipped cream. It IS NOT icing ... it's whipped and airy . Also the "icing " has orange zest in it ( not my favorite but wasn't over powering hence the four stars ). So far I've tried their challah, baguettes, french bread, their rosemary bread. They also serve brunch dishes like a big old slab of avocado toast, sandwiches, pizzas, and small bites. We ordered the ricotta and jam toast to share as well as a regular latte and a matcha latte. The bread was fresh and chewy, and superior in taste. It's definitely something that cannot be bought in just any grocery store. However, I thought there was just way too much ricotta to toast ratio. Sure, ricotta is light in terms of flavor and can neutralize the sweetness of jam, but it was not very pleasant to have an entire mouthful of the creamy cheese every time. I had to scrape some off eventually. My friend and I were also not that impressed with the latte and matcha latte either (if we're comparing to other coffee shops around the area). Additionally, since the lady manning the cashier is responsible for taking electronic payment, she was also asking customers directly if they wanted to tip and how much. The man in front of me was taken aback and hesitant in his answer. We both felt compelled to give the full 15% and that's exactly what happened. VEGAN REVIEW-- We order this quite a bit at my work so I have tried a couple of things. Here is my review of each: Fat Pita Sandwich--This thing is HUGE and is loaded. It had a bit too much parsley for my liking and the pita bread was a tad soggy, but that happens. Ultimately, I wont get this again and will just order the cauliflower separately cause it was bomb. Very fresh and tasty, biggest turn off was the overload of parsley but if you like it, try it out! Vegan Casear-- Not a fan. It was bitter and covered in nutritional yeast. I appreciate the effort that that it was offered nonetheless. Fresh Veggie Sandwich-- Unfortunately not the biggest fan. The bread was too chewy and it was dry. It needs more sauce. The presentation was nice and the veggies were fresh. Create your own pizza- I choose: Red Sauce, Vegan Cheese, eggplant, mushroom, and kale --Super good even for being vegan. Don't react to a 3 as a negative review. Lodge Bread is good. It checks all the boxes of "high end bakery / food shop." Good service, nice space, great core product (bread). So why a 3? In my opinion (and it's just one), Lodge is an "okay" high end bakery food shop. The bar is really high for these types of places. Lodge is very good in absolute terms and okay in relative terms. Outside of the bread the other components of our meal didn't really stand out. The smoked fish plate was extremely salty. The cheese on the ham-cheese sandwich, tried on its own, didn't have much taste or flavor. The croissants are average and more example than those at Gjusta. The seating area isn't particularly comfortable or clean; people are jockeying over limited seats. If you come to Lodge will you get good food? Heck yes. I found this restaurant 5 min from my place from a Google search and am disappointed it took me this long to try it. They have covered seating in a front patio and also picnic tables with umbrellas on the sidewalk (at lunch time sun wasn't an issue). You order at the register and they assign you a number. Some of the dishes I enjoyed: Cobb Salad, Pepperoni Pizza, and Turkey Sandwich.
