    Scallops #40

Everyone comes here for the Bánh Hỏi Heo Quay, and I can see why! The portions are quite large and high quality for the price. I do love Banh Hoi normally, but this really hit the spot. The pork belly was generously fatty without being overly greasy. It does include the skin, which adds a layer of crispiness and more flavor! We also got some of the #40 scallops to share, and these were a lot smaller than advertised. They were flavorful and spicy. My friend loved these! Tasty, but I wouldn't order it again personally.

This place is known for their crispy pork belly, but I fell in love with their Bun Rieu. It was both super flavorful but also clean-tasting. The crab meatballs were meaty and seafoody, the broth was warming, and the veggies brought a nice, crunchy texture. The pork belly is good, but a little on the stinkier side that I do not prefer. Don't sleep on their other dishes here!

I think this place is a hidden gem. I've been obsessed with Banh Mi Chao and they deliver so well. Located in the same plaza as OC & Lau, there's plenty of parking in the plaza because the plaza is quite big. their under $2 herbal tea is awesome too. Their Bo Kho is a comfort food too. It's a perfect dish for winter time or rainy season. You get to choose if you want to get noodle or bread as your carbs. Staff r friendly & the food came out pretty quick. There was not a lot of people when I came, but the size of the restaurant is good enough and good vibe!

Christmas lunch - party of 10

Loi's Kitchen is a hidden gem!!! Our group had Christmas lunch here yesterday, and luckily, we came right before the rush. Loi's was able to accommodate our large group over two tables - one of their center tables, and a booth. Service was prompt and attentive - our awesome waitress checked in on us a few times, despite how packed the place was getting as we headed into lunch hour on Christmas Day. Decor was cute - they had a Christmas tree up, restaurant was kept clean, and it was amusing to see they have some travel agency ad as placemats lol. I opted for the Hu Tieu Bo Kho, while the rest of the group ordered everything from the Bun Mam, to the Banh Mi Chao, Goi Salad, and Banh Canh Tom Cua. Hu Tieu Bo Kho is my favorite dish to get at most Vietnamese restaurants, if they don't have Pho, BBH or Bun Rieu (which this spot doesn't offer) - and the waitress read my mind when she told me their beef stew is very tender. The HTBK was awesome! You get a huge serving, with good topping/meat to noodle ratio. The broth was thick, flavorful and hearty. Each bite of the meat was juicy, tender, and delicious. This dish alone is something that will bring me back here in the future. One of the best HTBK I've had in the Orange County area. Friend picked Banh Mi Chao - which took a bit longer to come out from the kitchen, but that was fine - and I was happy to wait since my HTBK was hot. It's served on a sizzling plate and smelled delicious. I tried a bit of the meatball and pate - which was awesome - the pate literally melts in your mouth. The rest of the group enjoyed their food too - but I didn't manage to snap any photos since we had to split between the center table and booth due to our group size. Overall a great visit - kudos to the waitstaff for managing a full house on a busy holiday. Our booth was right next to the kitchen, so I was able to hear a lot of their communications with each other calling out orders or requests from different tables. Parking can get messy in this plaza - it's packed with other seemingly popular businesses, and I think we lucked out yesterday simply because we came a bit earlier than lunch hour, and because it was Christmas - so a few of the neighboring businesses were closed. Regardless, this is my new favorite spot for Hu Tieu Bo Kho - and I definitely plan on returning in the future!

Came for the first time after seeing their golden crispy chicken tomato rice plate poster. Came for dinner Sunday night got seated right away, just average service but nonetheless the plate was so good. I also loved their Thai tea, the tea flavor was very strong which i love it like that. I hope this deal isn't limited time because I'll definitely be back for it!

We got the garlic Cajun fries, popcorn chicken, Sizzling plate, the egg noodle dish, the pork vermicelli plate. Yum!

A Vietnamese resto with a casual and light vibe. The place was a little busy when we came but the staff were diligent and able to get our orders right away. We tried the Banh mi chao, Banh Hoi Heo Quay, Garlic Cajun fries and the Iced tamarind and peanut drink. The Banh mi chao is up to par - the filet mignon came in bite-sized pieces. The Banh Hoi was good, the pork skin was very crispy and the meat was tender, it is paired with noodles and veggies and the portion was enough for 2 people. The garlic fries is well-seasoned and crispy. The iced tamarind and peanut is a refreshing drink/dessert. It was a little bit sweet for my liking but overall a nice novelty for my palate.

The garlic noodle with shaken beef is really good. However, there is a rubber band in garlic noodle

A group of pickleball friends hanging out and have lunch after playing games in the morning. Lunch at Garden Grove for Vietnamese food is rare to me, so I joined with my friends. Service is good considering only two handling the front of the restaurant. Lou's Kitchen is a traditional eatery that offers authentic Vietnamese dishes. I ordered Kho Ha Gioi with mixed noodles. I like the ingredients and sauce. And we shared Banh bot chien which is fried rice cake with eggs! It tastes good. Most people ordered Banh mi chao, which is also like a staple and comfort dish, Pretty filling with eggs, filet mignon (okay), pate, baguette. Overall the price to performance is definitely there. It's comfy, familiar vibe and just like what you expect from Vietnamese eatery.

Came here to try their Golden Crispy Chicken (Cơm Gà Xối Mỡ) and Bò Né, and honestly it was a solid experience. The crispy chicken was really good. The skin was nicely fried and crunchy, while the meat inside stayed juicy, not dry at all. Served with hot rice and a sunny-side-up egg, plus soup on the side, which helped balance everything out. The bò né came out sizzling on a hot plate. Beef was tender, eggs cooked just right, and the flavors were comforting and very classic Vietnamese-style bò né. Definitely best eaten fresh while it's still hot. Portions were filling and the price was reasonable. I paid $10.99 during the promotion and felt it was worth it for the quality and amount of food. Overall, a good spot if you're craving Vietnamese comfort food. I'd recommend dining in for the best experience. Would come back to try more items on the menu.

This restaurant feels homey and classic Vietnamese in the way that the food comes out hot and staff are running around doing multiple things at once so service is not great. I got the banh canh tom cua and it was delicious. Just a word of caution: the soup dishes come out so hot. Be careful. The soup was appropriate portion, however, not a lot of toppings (crab, mushroom). Food doesn't come out all at once so expect a wait in between if you're with others. My mom got the Mi Nam Vang (with broth and mi) and she enjoyed her dish quite a bit. Her soup had a lot of meats and even a bone. My mom is a traditional elder Vietnamese and she approved.

    Bun Mam Can Tho

I don't understand why this place is so highly rated. My friend and I ordered 2 bowls of Bun Mam. My bowl was brought out first. The broth wasn't hot enough and the fish was still raw because it hadn't completely thawed. I was so hungry that I left the fish and ate the meat and fish cake. The roast pork was very hard to chew . I had almost finished 1/2 my bowl but my friend's bowl still hadn't been brought out. Meanwhile, the two of us ordered 2 bowls of Bun Mam at the same time. And I reminded the waiter, my friend's bowl of Bun Mam was also brought out and the result wasn't any better than mine. The broth wasn't hot enough and the fish was raw like mine. After that, I had diarrhea all night. It was scary. Opening a restaurant requires a conscience and careful cooking to serve customers, otherwise no one will dare to come back to eat.

    1. The pork had a nice crispy skin, and they gave a lot of Banh Hoi! I love that they put a lot of garlic bits on the fries! Finally, the coffee is strong! 2. The spot has fun casual vibes! 3. There are only indoor seatings! 4. The staff were friendly and timely with our order! 5. Parking lot is medium-sized, and it can get busy depending on time and day! Note: There is a 4% Discount for cash payments! Photo: Woven Vermicelli Noodles with Crispy Pork, Vietnamese Iced Coffee, and Garlic Cajun French Fries

They have one of the best egg noodle soups around. The broth is perfectly balanced and well seasoned, the egg noodle is well made, with generous toppings. The dry version of the egg noodle is equally delicious. You can't go wrong with either selection. I'm always surprised at their affordable prices. These days you can't really get a good bowl of noodle soup for under $18-$20. Here you can get a solid bowl for just $8 during happy hour! Whaaat?! Crazy! That is such a great price that I almost feel like I'm robbing them. LOL. During this recent visit, I wasn't too hungry so I just got a small bowl of wonton soup for just $7. It comes with 5 pieces of wontons. The only disappointing thing was that it doesn't come with one of my favorite toppings - tóc mỡ. It would've cost $2 to add it. I really wish they did include it. I also got some grilled pork skewers. Though a little soft, they were pretty delicious - nicely seasoned, flavorful, and make a great appetizer. I also love that they're open late - till 11PM!

The Grandpa's noodles was good (a dryer noodle), great portion, meat was tender, the radish cube looking things was crispy bits of pork skin. The menu is unique here and mostly in vietnamese. I think I had wished for some sauce to go with the noodles (but I understand its mostly with the soup on the side), good tightness of the meatballs :D... They have the classic condiments on the side, the pickled garlic isn't very crunchy and kind of on the sweet side, the pickled chili does have that slight acidic kick that works well. I modified my noodle to egg for a dollar. The soup was good, on the more umami soy/beef side than clear. The wontons were abundant too, instead of a chili oil the sauce is more like a tangy sweet chili vinegrette thing. My accompaniment got a garlic noodle soup (fried garlic oil) that was rich and also in a huge bowl. For the price and portion its a hidden gem for someone who needs to feed a family. Not like gourmet, but good enough! Omg, also I missed the corn milk :((
