Me and my gorgeous wife and good friend went there last night , 9-10-19. At 6 pm Had a nice table, and an excellent waitress Tyler. I'm going to start this review off with "LongHorn's is my go-to dinner house" ! With that being said, I have never felt so cheated! I went in there with my sweetheart for lunch. I ordered the 9 piece chicken strip dinner. The chicken strips came out add approximate size of my little finger! I even pointed it out to the waitress and she agreed that it was a ridiculous. He said that LongHorn's has cut down there dinner amount sizes. If this is so I will never eat at a longhorns again. If longhorns needs to increase their profits so much that they short-changed there customers I would rather eat at a McDonald's. It is ridiculous how small your chicken tenders were. When your own staff agrees and apologizes, this store needs help ! read more

My nephew is graduating from UF tomorrow and tonight I had the opportunity to have dinner with him. We wanted something local to my hotel and he picked Longhorn, which we both like a lot. Luckily there was no wait when we arrived, but the place was packed when we left. The service was good, and within minutes we had our drinks and bread. The bread is really good!!! My nephews girlfriend and I both ordered the parmesan crusted chicken. As usual it was delicious. My mashed potatoes were a bit watery, but I didn't care. After eating a small piece of bread and my salad, I wound up taking most of my chicken breast back to the hotel because I was so full. My nephew ordered a steak (can't remember which cut) and he added the parmesan crust to it. As usual, he loved it and of course ate the whole steak. I'm not really into restaurant chains, but there are a select few that I do enjoy. My two favorite chains are Longhorn and Seasons 52, coincidentally both owned by Darden Restaurants. One thing I love about Longhorn is that they make the best salad dressings and the salads are always crisp, fresh and chilled. There's nothing worse than getting a warm salad. The Thousand Island is my favorite, it's so good & I also heard the Honey Mustard is a good one too. Longhorn Steakhouse is a casual family restaurant with reasonable prices. Of course some locations are better than others. This is one of the better ones. read more

On Saturday March 14, 2020 I placed a rather complex order for 4 people online with some extra request notes and everything was 100% perfect. This day and age my wife and I have set the bar low for customer service, food quality and accuracy it's always nice to be pleasantly surprised. I was greeted by a friendly girl as soon as I entered and she repeated my order completely along with making sure the bread would be enough and asking if we needed steak sauce. Can't go wrong at long horn! We wanted something different for a change and thought chicken breast with parmesan encrusted cheese! It's mouth watering and absolutely delicious. Started out with a Cesar salads, and i must say they have the best Cesar salad dressing. Love their salad. Didn't partake in the bread and butter as i wanted to save space for the main course. Chicken breast came out covered in that special golden parmesan encrusted cheese topping. It's so delicious ive grown accustomed to ordering RV m extra on the side. That with a loaded baked potato and i was in heaven. The dinner portion comes with 2 chicken breasts and my wife and i usually split that and she orders an different side as she's watching her carbs intake. All in all the service was excellent, the atmosphere was perfect and the food was amazing. Sorry i didn't get a pic if the dinner...i dove right in after saying grace. Fate gave me the finger tonight. Worst $35 I ever vomited. I ordered the outlaw prime rib medium-rare. It came out looking fine. Was difficult to tell as the nice looking, juicy part turned out to be fat. When the waitress came by to check on me I'd mentioned the extreme amount of fat and that it wasn't quite cooked to medium-rare, but that I should be okay. Seeing the steak, she seemed hesitant but I said it was fine. My mistake. After she left, I took a few bites but then cut into the middle - it was raw. Took 10 minutes to get anyone's attention. I nearly got up to go ask the bar tender when my waitress finally noticed me waiving my hand after she came back to tend to other guests. Mentioned to her that I was wrong, that the middle of the steak was raw and asked to go ahead and have it corrected. I sat around with a bowl of Caesar salad and no silverware for a further 5 minutes until I could get her attention for another set. Once I got the set, I dug right into the most over-dressed salad ever. Do they put extra salt in the dressing as well? Thought I got lock-jaw from this. I quickly unwrapped my straw to wash it down with the sweet tea. But this was no ordinary sweet tea. This was the kinda southern sweet tea that's so sweet it tastes old. FML I had to choose between rotten tea or lock-jaw dressing. I chose both because of course I did. As the effects of the hallucinogenic tea began to wear off, the manager had appeared with a plate of my old steak, now cooked up to medium. They even went the distance in cooking the scraps of fat that I had trimmed off and served it back to me (as if it were garnish). Who does this!? It also came back with a new baked potato. Oh yeah. The potato; the less said about that, the better. When I got the bill, there was no deduction. I didn't demand or ask for one, though isn't it customary to have it at least partially stricken from the bill in view of such a catastrophe as a raw steak with 30% fat? I felt like John Candy in The Great Outdoors. But no, nothing. Just chuck another dry spud onto the plate along with the newly-grilled fat trimmings. As a side-thought: Those were bite-sized trimmings of fat. They couldn't have been using a grill. They would have fallen onto the coals. If you're a fan of the classic British comedy, Fawlty Towers, I highly recommend coming to LongHorn Steakhouse -- to spectate from outside the window. Upon returning home, I rush to the restroom and proceed to vomit with such force that it wasn't until I towel-dried my face did I realize I had a nosebleed. The bread was good though. read more

Delicious! I haven't eaten at a Longhorn Steakhouse since I worked in San Antonio nearly a decade ago. I was excited one was near my parents house. We called ahead when they opened at out our name on the list which they will do up to 30 minutes in advance. So by the time we got there we only had to wait a total of 2 minutes despite the lines out the door. The staff was super accommodating and friendly, both when we entered and when we left. The food was even better. We ordered the Spicy Chicken Bites as an appetizer to start, and let me tell you I could have eaten plate after plates of those. Great flavor and mild spice. On to the Rib Eye, Salad and Mac&Cheese... amazing! The Mac and cheese especially had a nice crust on it and bacon in it which reminded me of the Bacon/Grilled Onion Mac & Cheese my family makes. The steak was cooked to perfection- the only thing it was missing was a pat of garlic butter would have made it super savory. Perhaps I'll request next time. :) The only ONLY issue we had was no fault of the restaurant- we had a very bouncy person behind us and it made our booth move repeatedly. Maybe the restaurant just needs to tighten a screw or two in the booth. Otherwise great experience and did not disappoint. It's a busy place so get there early or call ahead- bonus, there's outdoor seating too. Limited. But available. read more

Last 2 times I went I had to send my steak back. Once it was undercooked and the other time it was cold. So when they attempted to fix the problem they ended up sending me a burnt steak. We stopped in to Longhorn because we had received a few gift certificates as Christmas presents. We've been to different Longhorn locations over the years and have always enjoyed the meal.This time we were not impressed. The steaks were okay at best. I don't want to brag but the steaks I buy from Publix and make on my backyard grill are a lot better. I just add salt and they have more flavor than these steaks had. Publix steaks are juicier and trimmed much better. These steaks were loaded with gristle and were just disappointing. The loaded baked potatoes were dry, bland and boring. The fried onion thing can't compete with Outback's Blooming Onion. The pre-made salad kits at Publix taste better than the salads did. The pie I had for dessert still had small slivers of ice in it because it wasn't fully thawed out. Even with 3 gift cards we felt like we paid too much. The waitress was nice and the restaurant was clean. At least we left full. read more

This has been my "go-to" restaurant in Ocala, for the past 15 years, if I want to have a consistent dining experience. That's hard to find. Last night was no different. My husband and I arrived in town around 7:30pm and every restaurant we drove by was packed ! So, I decided that Longhorn was the only one I was willing to wait on because they never disappoint. I always know it's going to be good all the way around. The wait for two was only 15mins. Not bad, considering that it was a full house, even the outdoor, and bar seats were full. The seating got a little hairy with us and two other sets of customers, as all of our buzzers went off and simultaneously and then someone else decided to walk out and abandon their table after being seated. But, the manager saw what was happening, jumped in and took control of it. He seated everyone promptly after seeing the confusion start. Once seated, our server was on top of everything from the moment we arrived to the table. Our drinks were always full, empty dishes removed instantly, he was very attentive and had a wonderful personality- very upbeat, despite the obviously heavy load of tables he was serving - which can make or break a dining experience. We ordered the fried pickles - YUMM ! The salad and app came out the second we ordered it, and I was honestly surprised. I went in expecting a slight delay due to the amount of people eating out at the time. I always order flos filet. And yet again, it didn't disappoint. Perfect blue rare. Everything from the moment we arrived to the minute we left, was a perfect example of why we will continue to dine out at Longhorn Steakhouse in Ocala. It's worth every dime. I love the steaks and service here but we went for my Birthday 6/11 with another couple and were served by a waitress who wore NO mask nor gloves. I wont be going back in the near future because I want to feel safe and there are other restaurants in Ocala who do have their wait staff wear gloves and masks. We stayed only because I didn't want to upset the other couple by making an issue of it. I think they should be required to wear this safety equipment while this Virus is around us. read more

We decided to have a plate of their stuffed mushroom caps to share before the meal. Well that was a surprise. We expected to get more than 5 on the plate ($2 each mushroom cap)- REALLY? We divided two caps into thirds... we each had 1.3 - IT, was good. 8~( We were looking forward to great steak. My filet mignon was done perfectly and was tasty. Pork chops were very good and the towering burger was eaten all the way down to the plate. Though the steak is /wonderful, I have two issues to share. The first one is price. While their steaks are excellent certainly priced based on their value, appetizers, sides,and drinks were a la carte. Perhaps the restaurant should have $$$ in its listing for clarity. Second, we all felt rushed from the beginning. We were asked what we wanted to drink with dinner just as we were sitting down at the table. Before we had seen the menus, we were asked what appetizer we would like. (Well, my personal policy with this behavior is to have a come-to-jesus moment with wait staff right away.) I frequently explain that we are not in a hurry for dinner and that we don't eat any food that is brought to the table before the prior course is completed by all who are dining. I may be a stickler about hospitality, but If my guest is still eating the entree, I do not let servers remove plates from those who may already have finished. I also do not want arms reaching across the table while I am cutting and chewing food. Will return, will recommend, with caveats. read more

I was excited to try this as I'm a chocolate loveeer and have heard such good things about this cake. I was shocked that the cake was so dry! Not only was it dry it was also terribly freezer burned. Its pretty disappointing to have to come here and write this review, this honestly was a go-to place for my wife and I but after today, Longhorn Steakhouse will no longer have my business. We had initially put our name down/gave our number and was told by the host our wait would be around 20 mins. Cool. We sat down right near the host stand (if you've been here you would know how close it was)-- only to watch parties who came in after us get seated first after waiting 15-20 mins in the lobby. It wasnt like these parties were being called back either, WE HEARD the host tell them the wait time and take their names/numbers down yet they were sat first?? My daughter went up to the host and asked if we were suppose to reciece an initial confirmation text-- to which the host said yes while tapping through his pos where our names were clearly not there. My daughter told him my wife never got the text, host says "ok, you'll be seated next". Situation resolved? Nope he continues to seat 3 more parties after us and essentially asking another host to give us another table that hasn't even gotten up yet. That didn't seem fair to us, so we left while my daughter tells the host what we just experienced, only for him to tell us those other parties (that clearly put their name down after us...) were in the queue before us? What. A. Joke. We were upset and talked to the manager and he told us that our name was just accidentally "bumped off" but when asked if it was a technical issue, he says that wasn't what he was saying. How do you explain not getting a text in the first place? Overall just so disappointing especially when the host had EVERY opportunity to check his lobby and make sure every guest was accounted for. He even made eye contact with my wife, so it's not like he didn't know we were there. He chose to ignore us. We walked out and celebrated my birthday at Texas roadhouse instead. read more

A very pleasant and inviting atmosphere awaited us on this our first visit to the Ocala location. This location has multiple separate areas so that you are not seated in a large room, which can have the ability to feel like a school cafeteria. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable. Our server was Celine H. She represents the type of person that you know will always take good care of you when you sit at one of her tables. Friendly, knowledgeable, caring and efficient, making you feel that your table is special. We were with another couple who both ordered steak. Cooked properly and flavorful they were both happy with their meals. My wife and I ordered chicken dishes. To myself a chicken dish places more challenge on the kitchen. To add flavor, moistness and cook it for the proper period of time these things must all come together to have success. My wife had the Parmesan Crusted Chicken, moist, tender and full of flavor. I had the new Farmers Market Chicken and I paired it with a new brussel sprout dish. Both were exceptionally good. The brussel sprouts are grilled and then a sauce with distinct Asian flavorings is added. This is the best preparation of brussel sprouts that I have ever experienced, if it were a main dish I would order it like that, try it for a taste experience so that I am not the only one that is seen licking the dish clean !! My nephew wanted his birthday here before our laser tag game. They called ahead at 330 for 4:30 which gave us plenty of time. Everyone was there and by the time they sat us it was after 5. We sat down and ordered drinks and dinner immediately so we could leave by 6 pm. Food arrived at 555 and at 610 the birthday boy and 3 others left. We cut the cake without him so the others could have a piece. The manager was less than caring. He said they can't control when tables will be available. They get a lot of large parties and during season they won't take call aheads then. Apologies were less than convincing. The servers were incredible and tried. We won't be back since this has happened w other large parties. Maybe one day management can get this restaurant organized. My son came into town and suggested that we go to Longhorn. Big mistake. First of all, the wine selection is a joke of typical horrible wines that every chain puts on he menu. The really bad thing was that this place had absolutely nothing of value. Many of us quickly decided that water would be better than any of their best wines. BTW, when you charge in excess of $10 for sub par wine... you have a problem. On to the food... Bad value and bad food. I specifically asked the waitress what the salad was made of- knowing that I did not want a bowl of iceberg lettuce. She assured me it was mixed greens. Guess what... we all got out iceberg lettuce salads. A true joke. I would hurt myself more by eating the dressing than eating the absolutely NO NUTRITION iceberg lettuce the salad contains. IN the trash! Salmon- when you pay $18 for fish, you want good fish. The waitress did not even know if it was farm raised (bad) or wild. That means it is farm raised with lots of antibiotics and hormones. No flavor. Rice was awful. I paid $18 for a yucky piece of farm fish. The rest of my party felt the same way. Food was something that is just above fast food. It's all pre-packaged stuff and Longhorn obviously thinks that their name precedes them. It does not. WILL NEVER go to another in my lifetime. Waitress did not even bring out check in a cover. She just put it on the table with a pen. That's cool with mom and pop shops- but this place charges way too much for really crappy food. Not one person in our group commented on anything tasting good or anything like that. I had to fight back the desire to bitch about everything - because I did not want to ruin anyones dinner. I visited the Longhorn restaurant to and was appalled by service, food, cleanliness of restaurant. Order # 7447 25011 7373. Server Paige S. While eating the French onion soup I discovered a piece of paper left in cheese. When I put it in my mouth I had to pull it out. This could have been a choking hazard for some other person. Server seems disinterested. I even photographed the paper once removed from my mouth. I then went to bathroom. 2 of 4 clogged with toilet paper and third had ring of mold at water ring. I met with manager Alisa Politte and her response to my concerns seemed to not phase her. She simply stated "have a nice day". Where has customer service gone? If I had seen bathroom before ordering I probably would not have eaten there. Hope health department is reviewing these reviews and take a closer look at this restaurant for health and safety of customers. read more
